Lipstick -L'Oreal - Colour Riche Caresse Lipstick
rated 3 of 5

I bought Sunset Angora (which on the L'Oreal website looks quite orange when it is really a soft coral peachy-pink color) at my local Target. When I saw the display I was literally jumping up and down in excitement. I had heard from a friend in the UK that these are AMAZING. And I cannot help but agree!! The color is very flattering on me, which is a HUGE plus. The color is also very rich and opaque and goes on very smooth and feels moisturizing. I've heard these being compared to the YSL Sheer Volupte Candy, not sure if it's true but somethin' to bake your noodle :) I find the packaging very sleek and simple, which is an A in my book, crazy complex packaging seems like a bit of a... waste too me. These MSRP at $9.99 without tax, which I think is a bit much for what is is :/ while a Revlon lip butter is MSRP at around $7. HOWEVER, these come with a bit more product. You decide if the bang is worth the buck :) As a whole I like these (even though I only have one shade xD) and if you want to put in some more money into a moisturizing lip color these are a good place to start. :)

Eye Shadow -E.L.F. - Day 2 Night
rated 5 of 5
ChaseSpearing 7/9/2012 12:32:00 PM

WOW. This thing is a dollar??? These are some STELLAR eyeshadows!! So far from the swatches these are really good overall!! I saw Tanya Burr (pixi2woo) use this in her 20 dollar makeup challenge video and I had to try it!! I haven't gotten the chance to test them on my eyes yet but I will come back with an update but for now let's look at the colors!! LEFT: creamy vanilla color with subtle golden sparkle. This one has a lot of potential but I find it a bit chalky :P LEFT MIDDLE: purple plum/cranberry color with a satin/almost metallic finish. This is a WONDERFUL shade that is so freaking pigmented! I love this shade and do plan to use a lot, especially in the fall and winter! RIGHT MIDDLE: mostly matte blueish charcoal color. This will make a great smokey eyeliner look! Also very pigmented! RIGHT: metallic taupey bronze color. Tanya described this as being very simialer to "satin taupe" by MAC and though I have never used satin taupe I have to say this is a beautiful color. To me it leans more toward bronze than taupe, I still think it is a wonderful color! So overall, except for one of the shades, this is a wonderful little palette and for the price the pigmentation is awesome! Totally recommend!!

Blush -Physicians Formula - Happy Booster™ Glow & Mood Boosting Blush in Natural
rated 5 of 5
ChaseSpearing 7/9/2012 12:22:00 PM

I literally JUST bought this and I believe I have found my HG blush! I have been searching for "that perfect blush" for months and I have found it! I bought it at Target for somewhere around 12 dollars (Target is offering buy on get one free on most PF face products!!!) with the translucent powder, which I will also review. When I first put it on it seemed really sheer and I was a bit perplexed, so I tried to build it up and it did so in the most wonderful way! It provides a wonderful natural glow without looking ridiculous. It is that perfect pink color that I think could looks wonderful on just about anyone! I'll come back with an update soon to see how it holds up throughout the day, my face tends to eat blush like no other xD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND. Especially if you can catch the BOGO at Target! EDIT: Nope. Nope.Nope. Like I said above, my face eats color like a beast. As this blush faded throughout the day I was left with shimmer ALL over my cheek and jaw area. NOT CUTE. So yeah, this was returned unfortunately.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Single in Brulee
rated 4 of 5
ChaseSpearing 6/11/2012 6:45:00 PM

I have been searching for a MATTE creamy colored shadow from the drugstore for AGES AND AGES. I was actually on my way to Sephora to get one from Urban Decay when I stopped at a Rite Aid to grab a soda and this caught my eye. I bought it on the spot, no questions asked xD I had heard a TON of good things about this shadow and I am thoroughly impressed! It is a very simple neutral cream color that works wonderfully as a brow highlight. I hate that "sparkly brow" look so this is perfect for me! I also love the teeny little package! It's great for travel and it isn't wasting a ton of extra plastic. I much prefer when companies keep plastic packaging to a minimum *ahem* Revlon *ahem* I just got this today but it will probably last me a good decade before I need to repurchase! I really like it and totally recommend!

Makeup Brushes -Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman - Expert Face Brush
rated 5 of 5
ChaseSpearing 6/11/2012 6:41:00 PM

This brush feels like a bunny. I kid you not, this is THE softest brush I own. I got it at Ulta for less than 10 dollars and am so glad I did. It's densely packed and slightly angled so its PERFECT for lliquidey/creamy foundations. It blends foundation seamlessly and doesn't leave those icky streaks other brushes often leave behind. Shedding is also non-existent. I've even used this with my mineral foundation and found it blended it MUCH better than the kabuki I was previously using. I also LOVE that it has a flat bottom so that I can just stand it up on my bathroom counter! The shape and weight of the brush are also very comfortable in the hand. This was my first ever real techniques brush and I am seriously temped to completely convert to the line. UPDATE: this guy does apply foundation and such wonderfully but it also works PERFECTLY for my creme blushes!! The NYX cream blushes are very emollient and hard to blend with your fingers, this brush works with them perfectly to blend them and keep their amazing pigmentation!! I also was having trouble with the new Revlon Photoready cream blushes, as they didn't apply well with the fingers either. This brush works WONDERS with those blushes and makes me love them even more. THIS BRUSH IS SO AWESOME IN EVERY WAY.

Eye Primer -NYX - Eyeshadow Base in Skin Tone
rated 4 of 5
ChaseSpearing 6/11/2012 6:36:00 PM

I literally waited MONTHS for my local Ulta to restock this in the skin tone shade. I mostly use it on lazy days to even out the weird veins on my eyelids. I have the white one (not the pearly one) also and I find that one creamier and easier to blend than this one, but I do still really like it as a base. If you're in the market for this, I would say check it out. But I do not plan to repurchase. Or maybe I will. Maybe I just got a dud :P UPDATE: GAH. SHUT UP PAST SELF THIS IS GREAT. I was applying it with my fingers before, which did not yield good results. Now I apply it with a crease brush I got from Target and LOVE the effect that I get. It evens out the tone of my eyes, providing a blank canvas, and preps my eyes to receive shadows since it provides a slightly tacky base :)

Cleansers -Simple - Moisturizing Facial Wash
rated 3 of 5
ChaseSpearing 6/11/2012 12:57:00 AM

I just got this today and used it this morning and so far its pretty normal. It isn't overly drying but it also doesn't leave a weird film on my face. I like that it doesn't have a bunch of perfumes and dyes because at the moment I am breaking out something fierce and I want to be more gentle with my skin right now. I will update in a couple weeks, but at the moment I will stay pretty neutral.

Concealers -Revlon - Age Defying Moisturizing Concealer (New) [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
ChaseSpearing 6/11/2012 12:54:00 AM

I'm hearing tell this may be discontinued, which would explain why I got it for half off at my local Fred Meyer :P THAT IS SO SAD BECAUSE I LOVE THIS SO MUCH. My under eyes can get VERY dry, and this works with that instead of against it. I find the coverage to be nice and it doesn't settle into any lines if properly set with some sort of powder. It also matches my skintone almost exactly, which I love. I have the shade "light" for reference The tube is 0.37 fl. oz. and you only need a TINY amount to cover both eyes! So this will last me a good long time! It will be really unfortunate if Revlon is discontinuing it :(

Toners -Neutrogena - Acne Stress Control Triple-Action Toner
rated 5 of 5
ChaseSpearing 6/11/2012 12:50:00 AM

I am now on my second bottle of this stuff! Before buying this, I hadn't even known what a toner was! After doing some research I decided this was a good place to start since it was relatively cheap and the woman working at Ulta said it worked wonders on her skin! This has salicylic acid in it, which my skin prefers over BP. I don't find this to be overly drying and it does pick up nasty gunk that my face wash left behind. I LOVE the way this smells! It has a medical-ness to it that I don't find horribly off-putting (I'm not normally a fan of hospitals or the way they smell *shudder*) the smell also fades within a few seconds once it dries, which it does very quickly. With the SA in it, I do find it helps to keep my breakouts at bay. Overall I really like it and will continue to buy more in the future!

Styling Products -Suave - Touchable Finish Lightweight Hold Hairspray
rated 4 of 5
ChaseSpearing 6/11/2012 12:45:00 AM

Before buying this I had been using a Garnier hairspray with an actual spray nozzle. I HATED IT. So when perusing my local Target I noticed this. I have never used anything from Suave besides the dry shampoo (which both me and my mom ADORE.) and I thought I would give this a shot. I really like it! The only thing I use hairspray for is after my hair is dry, regardless of using heat or not, I will spray this on a boar bristle brush and run that through my hair so the tiny, fine hairs around my face don't stick out like they always seem to do. This works great for keeping those down and providing a nice hold without being sticky or crunchy. I like that the mist is very fine so you don't get 'clumps' of hairspray in random places. It has that pretty standard "hairspray" smell, but with a touch of almost fruityness that isn't cloyingly sweet or tangy. Very light and nice. Even one of my guy friends commented on how nice my hair smelled :3 So yes, I would repurchase and do like it a lot! I highly recommend!

Self Tanners -Jergens - Natural Glow Foaming Daily Moisturizer-Fair to Medium
rated 3 of 5
ChaseSpearing 6/11/2012 12:38:00 AM

I just bought this today. It is my first self tanner and I'm super excited to try it out! The sun really isn't so great for you in the long run so I figure fix the problem before it arises! (It also came with the facial moisturizer which I have a separate review for.) I took a shower around 4 today. Did my normal thing in the shower; shave, exfoliate etc. got out put on bath and body works lotion and worked this really well into my skin. Then I washed my hands. I love that it doesn't have that nasty self-tanner smell and it dries super quick! It's now around 9:30 and my mom asked me if I had been in the sun at all today! This stuff is working super fast! Granted I have only used it once so I will come back in a week and do a quick update on how everything is going!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot - Groundwork
rated 5 of 5
ChaseSpearing 6/10/2012 11:35:00 PM

This was my very first MAC purchase ever. The woman at the MAC counter was very helpful. Being a huge fan of the Maybelline Color Tattoo cream eyeshadows, I was definitely expecting this to be as good, if not better. I am impressed. Groundwork is an almost matte shade, which is what I was looking for. This is a very warm light brown, I don't know if I'm totally in love with it yet an update will be up soon!. But I do really like the finish and simplicity of both the color and the application. Overall I do like it on lazy days when I can put a bit of this, some black eyeliner, and a bit of mascara and be out the door. A good purchase if you want a simple cream eyeshadow :) UPDATE: I prefer to wear darker looks in the fall because my skin is so pale and I find the contrast really interesting. This has become my go-to color for all over my lid for fall. I work it from lashline to my crease, blend a bit, add some smokey liner and I'm out the door! It also stays put really well on my oily lids so that is a HUGE plus! The satin finish is completely unnoticeable on the eyes, but it does contrast very well with my green eyes :3

Treatments -Sally Hansen - Instant Cuticle Remover
rated 5 of 5
ChaseSpearing 6/9/2012 5:07:00 PM

I do not know how I lived without this. Let me start off with, my nails and cuticles SUCK. I have been biting my nails since I was in the womb (I'm almost 18 :P) BUT I have since kicked my disgusting habit and my nails are growing longer and stronger. However, to keep myself from nibbling on them, I ALWAYS have to have polish on. For the past couple weeks I have been using trimmers to cut back my cuticles. After about the 9 millionth time of making myself bleed I was done. I had seen this product being used by a makeup guru (aLoveTart) on youtube and decided to grab it. I found it for less than five dollars at my local Target. ENOUGH RAMBLING ONTO THE REVIEW: IT. WORKS. AND. I. LOVE. IT. After sitting for around 30 seconds I gently pushed the goo off of my cuticles and was shocked with how much came off! Needless to say, my cuticles have never looked better. BUT even though it works well you can't use it too often! It even says so on the bottle! Overall I am extremely impressed and see many more of these in my future! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Nailgrowth Miracle Nail Polish
rated 5 of 5
ChaseSpearing 6/9/2012 5:00:00 PM

REVIEW ON POLISH I really like these polishes! Granted I only own two so you can probably take this with a grain of salt. I have the colors 130 Innocent Nude and 220 Honor. Innocent Nude is just as the name implies, a neutral nude color perfect for those who want that natural look. Honor is a light burgundy color that's almost metallic. It looks really great on all skintones and I'll be wearing it a ton this winter! While others may not like the brush, I really like the wide, flat brush. The brush isn't what matters people, yes a nicer brush is nice but the polish itself is what really matters to me! The polish dries quickly and though it takes a few coats to get opaque, it looks really nice once it does dry and set! I don't think it really helps my nails "grow" all that much but I do find my nails feel less weak and bendy when I have the polish on. So the formula must be doing something! The color range isn't as great as those of Essie or OPI but if you are on the hunt for more neutral colors that aren't as loud, this is a great brand.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Xtreme Wear - Mint Sorbet
rated 5 of 5
ChaseSpearing 6/9/2012 4:53:00 PM

This is the same color as mint ice cream and I couldn't ask for more. While others may not like the thick brush, I LOVE IT. It applies opaque in one coat and dries fast and stays put with a good base and top coat. I highly recommend, and for less than 3 bucks, it's a steal!!
