Lip Gloss -Clinique - Color Surge Impossibly Glossy in Azalea
rated 2 of 5
Charma22 12/28/2006 2:27:00 PM

This looks super georgeous in the tube. It looked like the perfect sexy lip color for night. However, what's inside is slightly disappointing. First of all, this comes out to be a goopy mess of hot pink that's surged w/ a hint of blue undertones. It's soooo slick that you need a mirror to apply b/c it doesn't spread very evenly. And staying power? What staying power. There is no staying power. It just feels like slimy grease. It's off the lips w/in 5 minutes. Plus, when I put it on, I was always trying to catch myself in a mirror just so that I could see if it migrated off my lips. I didn't want anyone to catch me w/ only half of my lips drenched in lipcolor. Too bad, b/c it's pigmented, the color looks great in the tube, and even swiped on my hand, it looks absolutely georgeous. Unfortunately, this doesn't impress me. And I haven't found a color of gloss out there quite like it yet. Will not repurchase. Fortunately, I received this free, and am passing it on to the next victim :)

Eye Shadow -Clinique - Color Surge Duo in Buttered Bronze
rated 4 of 5
Charma22 12/28/2006 2:21:00 PM

Wow. I love these new e/s by Clinique. The color of Buttered Bronze duo is a frosted milky ivory w/ a hint of yellow and a shimmery medium brown w/ a hint of gold. At first, I hated this duo b/c the offwhite was just too frosty for my tastes. But, I realized, like w/ all of Clinique's new e/s, that you don't need to use much, especially with frost. I also like using the off white as a brow highlighter, for the inner and outer corners of the eyes and sometimes down the center of my nose. I do wish that the brown was a hint darker since I have moderately fair to medium olive complexion w/ dark brown eyes, sometimes the golden brown looks a tad too light. But still, I love this duo. For a more professional look, this one may be too frosty, I would then suggest Like Mink, Spicy, Choco-Latte, or even Teddy Bear. Buttered Bronze is also great for a night look, just add a darker crease color.

Liquid -Clinique - Perfectly Real Makeup
rated 3 of 5
Charma22 12/28/2006 2:16:00 PM

My favorite thing about this makeup is the colors. These are some of the best colors of makeup in any line. There are pink, neutral and very good golden undertones. This comes in a hard plastic tube and when you squeeze it out, it first looks like it's more creamy, but as you sheer it out, it comes out to be very natural and gives sheer to moderate coverage. It's a beautiful finish. There is a slight shimmer that is mostly undetectable, but gives you skin a glow. What I'm saddened about with this foundation is that my skin ranges on a day to day bases from very day to super oily. Right now my HG foundation is Clinique's Dewy Smooth, which seems to be very good for my dry skin days, but holds up well for my oily skin days. Perfectly Real just doesn't have the staying power for me for my oily skin. I really which it did b/c the texture is just amazing and it looks fabulous on my skin for at least the first hour or so until I have an oily breakthrough. This foundation would be best for someone w/ normal to dry skin. Still, I have a tube on this on hand for when I'm going out and need to look absolutely fabulous for only a few hours, b/c like I said, the colors are very good. I flucuate between colors #18 and #30, which are yellow/golden shades. If my skin continues to be more on the drier side, I would definately consider making this an HG.

Sunscreen -Shiseido - Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion SPF 55 PA+++ [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
Charma22 12/27/2006 3:10:00 PM

WOW! This is the best sunscreen that I have ever used! I've been using sun protection since my late teens. I've mainly used drugstore versions and moisturizers w/ sun protection. Then last year, I decided to try this one based on recommendations from the boards. I was always hesitant to get it b/c of it's $35+ price tag. But, then at the store where I worked at, we got an extra discount so I decided to splurge. Well, it's been almost a year and I'm already 1/2 done w/ my 3rd bottle. This stuff is great. I have never gotten burnt nor have I ever broken out b/c of this. I do moisturize underneath this since it's not a moisturizer and I like having a barrier between my skin and sun protection. Plus b/c it's the lotion version, I do like that my skin is less oily throughout the day. This has been one of my most successful finds in 2006.

I really love this formula of lipsticks a lot! These go on smoothly on the lips. They are creamy, full coverage and moisturizing. Plus, they wear for a long time on the lips which is very important to me. I am a moderately fair skin tone w/ very yellow undertones. The colors that I use from this line are Peach Pop: bright peachy pink w/ a hint of orange, Plush Red: Bright red w/ a hint of orange, Red Drama: Medium to Dark Red w/ a hint of brick, Red Red Red: SUPER BRIGHT Red w/ a slight hint of orange, Wow Violet: Bright Berry w/ a hint of Wine, Jazz Berry: bright coral pink w/ a hint of berry, Extreme Pink: Bright pink w/ a hint of frosted fuschia, Sassy Spice: Dark Red/Brown w/ a hint of berry copper, and Pure Posh: medium bronze w/ a hint of gold.

Blush -Clinique - Blushing Blush Powder Blush - Smoldering Plum
rated 5 of 5
Charma22 12/27/2006 2:54:00 PM

What a great blush! I love the new blushing blushes. They are soft and silky. I even use the brush it comes w/ for touch ups. This is a very nice soft medium plum shade w/ just a hint of brown. There is very minimal shimmer. It looks great especially for night time. This blush can go on sheer or you can build up the intensity for a more dramatic look. A+.

Concealers -Clinique - Acne Solutions Concealer
rated 5 of 5
Charma22 12/27/2006 2:51:00 PM

I love these little things! They are automatic twist up pencil concealers. I use #2 and it's a great match for my golden moderately fair skin tone. It's so quick and easy. I just lightly dab it on a zit and then gently pat the area to blend the color in. I love that it has salicylic acid in it so that I'm covering it up while treating. It comes in 3 colors with #1 being for very fair skin tones and #3 for medium/olive toned complexions. They are only $13.50 each.

Mascara -Clinique - Lash Power
rated 5 of 5
Charma22 12/27/2006 2:36:00 PM

Wow, this is my favorite mascara at the moment! This makes your lashes more defined and super long. I actually feel like my lashes are not my lashes. I am half asian so my lashes are fairly short and thin. But this mascara fans them out better than any other that I've tried and it doesn't clump the lashes together. My lashes soooo long! The brush is easy to use. It's smaller than other mascara brushes, which is probably why it's great for people who have shorter lashes. Plus this mascara doesn't smudge or flake. And when it comes time to wash it off, it doesn't get into the eyes, which is a plus. It comes off kind of like little tubes, where you can gently pull off. I'm so glad that I got to try this. I have it in the brown, which is a dark brown/black. It's perfect. I got this is duty free in LA. This is normally sold in asian countries. I love it.

Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Pure Seduction EDT
rated 5 of 5
Charma22 12/25/2006 4:10:00 PM

What a fun fragrance! I've never been 100% a VS fragrance girl. I like having more high quality fragrances. However, I was in the mood for a young, fun, flirty fragrance that would grab a ton of attention from younger guys. :). My usual arsenal of higher quality fragrances include Stella, Hilary Duff In Love, Vera Wang Princess, CK Euphoria, among others. Well, I read the reviews on MUA, and decided to try Pure Seduction as a fruity floral that spells flirty and young. I have worn Amber Romance during my senior year in college and received a ton of compliments during that time. So, what can I say? It definately smells cheaper than my usual perfumes, but I'll tell you something, I feel younger, fresher, more energized, flirtatious and bold when wearing Pure Seduction. And I can spritz all I want since it was 6 for $30. I bought one cologne and 5 body creams (love them). This is perfect for when I feel like teasing boys :).

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Endless Platinum in Mirrored Bronze
rated 5 of 5
Charma22 12/25/2006 3:43:00 PM

Love this lipstick. I first purchased this 2 weeks ago while at Ulta. I'm usually not a huge fan of drugstore lippies, but was in the mood of spending money without truly spending money. At Ulta L'Oreal lippies were buy one get one free, so how could i resist? :) I remember that L'oreal had some pretty good quality lippies, and decided on trying the endless line. I wanted a long wearing lippie w/o having to apply the two step process. I lightly "tested"a corner of the colors, I know, I feel bad, but many people do it, and this color looked really pretty. And, you know what? It truly is. It's a medium shimmery bronzy brown. Sometimes it can look too brown when applied heavily, but I don't care. It's still georgeous. When the color wears off a little bit, I actually get a TON of compliments and people wondering what color I'm wearing. I work for a makeup line, so I usually say it's something similar. But, the wear is truly amazing. I only have to reapply maybe 2 times a day if even that. I love it so much, that I purchased the Moonlit Mica in the Endless Platinum series as well for full price, for a more "glamourized" lip color, and I love it just as much. These are truly amazing. I do find that they are just a little drying, but for the extreme wear that I find, it's something that I can handle.

Makeup Brushes -Sephora - Bronzer Brush
rated 2 of 5
Charma22 12/20/2006 1:01:00 PM

What I thought was going to be a match made in heaven turned horribly wrong. I liked the idea that the brush was only $25. It seemed like a really good dense brush that would be perfect for not only bronzer, but for powder as well. Well, fast forward to after my first brush cleansing. This brush since I first used it, shed maybe 1 or 2 hair after each use. For only $25 it was something I could deal with. But after I washed it, it shed like no other. I had at least 10-20 brush hair on my face after every single use! I then washed it again to see if maybe the hair would have fallen out that way anyway. But no, the shedding continued, until yesterday when I returned the brush. And yes, I do know how to clean my brushes. The price is great, and since there are a lot of great reviews on this brush, maybe I got a defect, but I'm not in the mood to try another Sephora brush to find out.

Treatments (Eye) -Clinique - Repairwear- Intensive Eye Cream
rated 5 of 5
Charma22 12/18/2006 9:51:00 PM

I love this stuff! I have an on and off relationship w/ this stuff and for the past 2 months, this stuff along w/ Stri Vection Eye and All about Eyes has been my HG! I got tired of shelling out a measly $18 every month for Burts Bee's Royal Eye Jelly (which should give you an idea of how heavy moisture I like). So, I had a billion Repairwear and All about Eyes samples so I starting to use those. I also purchased Strivectin Eye to help w/ some of the lines and I apply that first. Then I do my facial serum. Afterwards, I apply a glob of Repairwear Eye Cream (I apply a lot so that it still looks slightly white b/c I like a TON of moisture), and then I continue w/ my Turnaround Cream and Repairwear Night Cream. As a final step, I apply a glob of All about Eyes on top. Now, this may seem like a lot!, and I know that it is, but it is so working for me right now. My eyes haven't looked this good in a long time! I'm very impressed. When I wake up my fine lines are barely noticeable which means my skin is plump and moisturized. The only sad thing is going to be when I run out of my eye cream samples. The Repairwear eye cream is somewhat hefty for me at $38.50 and all about eyes at $27. So my products may have to change, but for now, I LOVE THEM.

Treatments -Clinique - Acne Solutions Night Treatment Gel
rated 5 of 5
Charma22 12/18/2006 9:45:00 PM

I really like this stuff. It's a clear gel that has salacylic acid that helps to treat breakouts, but also helps to get rid of acne scarring. This is definately an acne night treatment b/c the texture of the gel never fully absorbs into the skin, but provides a shield over whatever area you apply it to. I have had great success using this, plus the size is huge for the price. I would definately repurchase when I'm out. I've seen improvements w/ my acne scars w/in a weeks time. Even a months time is good enough for me.

Treatments -Clinique - Derma White C10
rated 4 of 5
Charma22 12/18/2006 9:39:00 PM

This is a 6 week Vitamin C treatment for the skin which is supposed to help w/ brightening and evening out tone. It's specifically sold part of the Clinique Derma White line to help w/ whitening. This not only has Vitamin C, but Black Out Yeast extract. It comes in 6 liquid vials and it also has separately the vitamin C. You use a vial a week regardless of the amount you use because of the Vitamin C exposure. I use it twice a day after my Clarifying Lotion 3. It's a very lightweight clear color serum. I can smell the vitamin C when I apply it to my face. So far, I'm starting week 5 tonight. I have noticed a more evening out of tone of my skin and acne scars are lighter. My skin looks very nice and I ALMOST feel comfortable going out w/o a stitch of makeup. I got this at LAX Duty Free for $72, so this is not cheap. But, it's far easier to use than I expected and the results are worthwhile.
