Skincare - Face -Estee Lauder - Advanced Night Repair - Protective Recovery Complex

This is a wonderful serum that goes on prior to moisturizer at night, hence the name. The feel on the skin is light, and it banishes the look of "fine lines and wrinkles". It gives a light, "clean" shine to the face; nothing oily, my face just looks really clean. I think I would wear to a daytime party and go without foundation. (Shocking, I know!) I got it at Nordstrom's as a gift with the EL product purchase. It is sort of strange as my mom wears Estee Lauder and I think of it as an old lady product, but what are you going to do...

Lipstick -Chanel - Creme Gloss Lumiere in Pink Truffle
rated 5 of 5
Catloveschanel 10/20/2009 3:21:00 AM

Well, as a redhead, this comes out red, red, red on my lips, and I have never worn red lipstick. But I have seen some of the posts of the redheads wearing cool colors, and I decided to do something different. The brush draws it so perfectly on my lips. It doesn't sink into my chapped lips. This color makes my teeth look really white and someone commented on how blue my eyes were. This is somewhat daring for me. Should be good for winter. I had to go to Nordstroms and I got sucked into the Chanel Salon again.

Treatments (Eye) -Erno Laszlo - Antioxidant Complex For Eyes

Stamps out milia from previous eye product attempts. Criss-crossed lines under eyes are gone. Dark circles are better (the SA at Sephora said I had no dark circles, was he lying or am I paranoid?) Puffiness is down, but not totally. I need to get more sleep. I have used this for 5 days. Under eyes only. I am verklempt. I went out without Concealer for two days. EDIT: I just use this at night. I use just a tiny bit on the first quarter of the little spatula, putting it on the puffy part of the undereye, and nowhere near eyeball. I tried using during the day, but it is really unnecessary, and I cannot put concealer over it. Thanks belledecrecy for the tip. Holy Grail.

Eye Shadow -Chanel - Ombre D'Eau Fluid Iridescent Eyeshadow - 70 Rivage
rated 5 of 5
Catloveschanel 10/18/2009 12:57:00 AM

Since I turned 50 I am noticing wrinkles, in the inside corner of my lids. I don't like wearing any shiny eyeshadow now. I am paranoid. This eyeshadow smooths out every wrinkle and makes my eyelids look normal, like they used to. Rivage is the color of light washed faded blue jeans, but it fades out on contact to a very light silvery/blue with no glitter spots. "Iridescent" does not translate to Flourescent. It's very subtle, yet luminiscent. It's not full of sparklies, yet it is. It is the color of my eyes when I wear light blue. When I wear gray, it looks gray. It's just fabulous. I have tried a bunch of eyeshadows, but none of them work. I also wear Chanel Teint Creme Bronzer on my crease, and it is the only thing that stays and doesn't bring out my wrinkles. (I got it for a bronzer a couple summers ago. It is way too dark for my face.) So I was helping Claire find something to wear for her New York trip and I forgot that I had quit smoking and I was running through Nordstroms to have a cigarette and I stopped at the Chanel counter and instantly got sucked in! I forgot about smoking while I looked through the foundations, and bought this little eye shadow instead of smoking. Must be shaken, not stirred.

Treatments (Eye) -Dr. Denese - Firming and Resurfacing Eye Pads
rated 5 of 5
Catloveschanel 10/15/2009 3:33:00 PM

This might just be the ticket. I have sensitive skin. Also, crisscross lines, undereye bags, dark shadows.... need I go on? When I apply creams, serums, etc, I get milia. This seems to help greatly as it exfoliates the undereye area. The milia died way down the next morning. The fine lines are plump and firm. I don't know about dark shadows. I use sparingly once a week. On clean face/blank canvas/ no other product: 1) Open Top Seal Just a Little 2) Fish out pad and Cut 1/16th of a pad 3) very carefully, apply to circles and bags under the eyes only, getting nowhere near the lids or the eyeballs. I apply the hydroshield moisturizer to the eye area an hour after. When i apply the face serum, I do not go into that under eye area. (Sort of a face lift result. :)

Lip Gloss -NARS - Orgasm and Sunset Strip Duo
rated 1 of 5
Catloveschanel 10/8/2009 8:01:00 PM

Why did I purchase this without consulting Makeup Alley for a review? Because it was there under the glass at the TJ Maxx jewelry counter when I was looking for a watch. Very pretty colors, but they lasted a half hour. I timed it. Glad I got 6 for $29 at TJ Maxx

Why did I buy before checking with Makeup Alley? Because it was there! NARS = Never Again Ridiculous 'Spensive. Colors are pretty, but they lasted a half hour. I timed it. I spied Nars when looking at jewelry under the glass at TJ Maxx. Sucker for a sale. At least they were 6 for $29.

Shampoo -TiGi - Catwalk Thickening Shampoo
rated 4 of 5
Catloveschanel 10/8/2009 3:51:00 PM

Love this. My limp, oily, fine hair plumps up and holds the style with minimum Fuss. I was late for an appt and I woke up and just used this shampoo with no other product, just brushed my hair under with a round brush, and it stayed that way. Pretty impressed. Got it at the beauty supply store with friend, so it was really cheap. I love this product's name, Catwalk.

Shampoo -Matrix - Biolage Bodifying Shampoo
rated 4 of 5
Catloveschanel 10/7/2009 2:40:00 AM

Love it. Almost Holy Grail, except for Fekkai Shea Butter Shampoo. Might I say that my oily, limp, lifeless hair plumped up and stayed styled pretty near 9 hours with the perfect blend of Catwalk Root Volumizer and some Peter Coppolla hair spray. This shampoo lathers so exquistely. The only reason that I don't give it 4 lippies is because it takes so long to rinse out. I tried using a smaller amount, but then it doesn't lather so brilliantly. I make sure and wash my hair first prior to doing my Clarisonic ritual on my face, neck and hands, so I can get the stuff rinsed out. I wash my hair every day and I hardly ever use conditioner. I don't see how one would have the patience to get conditioner rinsed out using this shampoo. I got this for $5 for 16.9 oz as my friend Kelly took me to the beauty supply store with her. It was on sale. I noticed I got the type for dry hair and had to make a return the next day. Since it was no longer September the price had gone up to $7.50. The "love-a-sale" person inside me was crushed, but I think $7.50 is pretty good compared to the prices I see in the ads.

Lip Gloss -Lancome - Lancome Juicy Tubes
rated 5 of 5
Catloveschanel 9/30/2009 2:01:00 AM

The color is Pink Horizon. Way over yonder, that's where I'm bound. The pink is a dusty rose, wait, mix in a little cherry with a goldish overglow. Anyway, I'm a redhead, wait, strawberry blonde, and I can wear it. Usually my lips look chapped, but they don't with this stuff on. It tastes good, but it's not too goopy. It stays on for a long time.

Cleansers -Lancome - Creme Radiance
rated 4 of 5
Catloveschanel 9/30/2009 12:51:00 AM

In my quest to find the perfect cleanser, I took this one for granted, but I always use it. This foams well with the Clarisonic, and it rinses off nicely. All the other cleansers but Cetaphil & Lancome leave my face tight. It even gets off the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation I've been wearing which stays on through anything. I am still giving it a 4 lippies, because I am still a bit restless.

Fragrances -Viktor & Rolf - Flower Bomb Bath Oil
rated 5 of 5
Catloveschanel 9/29/2009 2:59:00 AM

I finally got the whole big box at the Nordstrom Sale - Perfume, Hair Spritzer, Body Lotion, then some more of that in a pink and black satiny grab bag. So fancy! The extra goodies thrown in from a very nice salesguy. So after I bought it I went upstairs to look at clothes and the salesgal asked me what perfume I am wearing. The packaging is pink and black, sort of 50's poodle like, and it smells like pink and black. A lot of sugar from flowers for the pink and a spice of sandalwood, I think, for the black. Not too much sugar, and a little spice. An excellent way to fight terrorism, with a flowerbomb. Those are my political thoughts for the day.

Skincare - Face -Ole Henriksen - Aloe Vera Deep Cleanser
rated 3 of 5

This left my face somewhat tight. It doesn't work well with the Clarisonic - doesn't lather up. I don't like the tight feeling.

Cleansers -Kate Somerville - Gentle Daily Wash
rated 1 of 5
Catloveschanel 9/27/2009 3:07:00 AM

This 4 oz product came free with my Clarisonic. The first time it left a little red blood vessel above my lip which went away... so I didn't use it for awhile, it was so frightening. I tried it again and it makes my face tight, even though I rinse off in the shower. I don't recommend this.

I got this at TJ Max for $20. It cleans my skin OK with the Clarisonic, but I have nothing more to say that just OK.
