Gels/Soaps -Avon - Naturals Lemon & Mandarin Shower Gel

I agree with the previous reviewer - it smells cheap and I wouldn't purchase again. Didn't like it much. I thought it was harsh and drying. I tried refilling the bottle with my own but the lid snapped off and I couldn't close it anymore.

Skincare - Face -Avene - Light Hydrating Cream
tinkerrbelle 9/21/2007 6:28:00 PM
In no way is this "light". It has very strong perfume and caused an burning rash over my face. I gave it to my mother who suffered multiple blackheads within days from all the rich safflower oils in this product. She has clear mature skin and never breaks out normally. I would not recommend this for sensitive skin types nor anyone who doesn't want to may risk breakouts. It is highly comedogenic and a skin irritant to be avoided in my opinion.

Cleansers -Garnier - Ultra Gentle Cleansing Wipes with Extract of Almond - Nornal to Sensitive Skin
tinkerrbelle 9/21/2007 5:46:00 PM
These are in the green pack for normal sensitive skin. I found these removed makeup well without irritation to my oily sensitive skin, leaving it smooth without needing to moisturise. Theres a pink rose scented pack for dry sensitive skin also which I sometimes use instead in winter when I'm dry. Unscented baby wipes are much cheaper and do the same job, but I love the clean fresh & creamy scent of these! I looked forward to using them The pack isn't great as it loses its seal quickly..

Cleansers -Nivea - Refreshing Facial Cleansing Wipes
tinkerrbelle 9/21/2007 5:18:00 PM
These stung! They were too hightly perfumed with Nivea's horrible signature scent and also rough and scratchy in texture. Large enough to cope with all your makeup even down to your neck. They're really strong and can be wrung out if you've got access to water. After cleansing, I squeeze the wipe under the tap to rinse clean and then go over my face again several times to remove the cleanser. This way I feel my skin is really clean and I don't have the cleanser residue or irritating perfume lingering. The wipes are tough and can withstand several rinses without ripping. I had to use a separate eye makeup remover first because these didn't remove all my stubborn waterproof mascara (Revlon lash fantasy). Otherwise they cleansed makeup off well. Good for late night/travelling quick removal if you don't mind stinging your skin for alot of money. But like prettyelectric wisely mentioned, baby wipes (unscented for me) are even better, the same thing without the cost!

These stung! They were too hightly perfumed with Nivea's horrible signature scent and also rough and scratchy in texture. Why? They're supposed to be for sensitive skin! After cleansing, I squeeze the wipe under the tap to rinse clean and then go over my face again several times to remove the cleanser. Or baby wipes (unscented for me) are even better, as the same thing without the cost!

Lipstick -Avon - Ultra Color Rich Renewable Lipstick - Satin
tinkerrbelle 9/19/2007 6:12:00 AM
This is a reliable range, with nearly every color I've brought to be smooth, moisturising, apply evenly be fairly long lasting. No perfume too - which is great for my sensitive lips and it never makes my lips peel. The colours in the brochure are often out so don't trust them - get a few tester/samples first. When I did I ended up liking completely different ones. These are some of what I have had - BERRY BERRY NICE - satin - true red with a very subtle hint of gold shimmer. Very pigmented, very retro pin-up, I wish they'd bring back this shade! BRONZE TREASURE - frost - brown peach caramel POUT - frost - light opaque pink - this is supposed to be a dupe for MAC's "Angel". It has a tendency to highlight dry chapped lips unless you apply balm first. PRETTY - satin - blue red, similar to berry berry nice, but more raspberry. Good snow white effect for pale cool skins and brown hair. Stains lips. RAINKISSED ROSE - shimmer - light-medium peachy pink ROSE MAUVE - satin - muted purply mid mauve, much purpler than in brochure, where it looks brown SHEER PLUM - sheer - muted plum violet, lets my lip colour show through and moisturises sooo well I love this one SKIN - satin - natural toned, muted mid slightly peachy nude VIVA PINK - satin - bright not-quite fuschia almost neon medium lolly pink with cool undertones, has a tendency show up yellow tones in teeth

Lipstick -Avon - Ultra Moisture Rich Lipstick SPF 15
tinkerrbelle 9/19/2007 4:43:00 AM
It feels silky and light to wear, and the colour looks even. Feels smooth and a little tight. Not so keen on the perfumed chemical taste, nice but a bit too strong for my liking. Its hard selecting color if you own a few as they only have teeny little names on the base, no sample color swatch. One review says the sunblock is ineffective - if thats true I wish Avon would come clean and replace it with an effective photostable sunblock. One of the reasons I buy this product is the SPF claims and I don't want wrinkly burnt lips!

Styling Products -Schwarzkopf - Osis+ Thrill Fibre Gum
tinkerrbelle 9/18/2007 9:03:00 PM
I use this on my long hair to twist and my waves in to defined large "sausage curls" or rolled curls. It makes them shiny, gives a silky feeling, hold and definition, and they look really bouncy, too. I use only a tiny bit though, or it gets greasy toward the end of the day. The scent is sickly sweet mens aftershave with a hint of herbs and clean freshness. I like detecting it on men but don't like it for myself. Its a good formula but the metal tin it comes in is high and narrow making it hard to scoop out, and the metal screw top is too hard to get on and off.

Styling Products -Fudge - Erekt Medium Hold Heat Responsive Straightening Gel
tinkerrbelle 9/17/2007 1:45:00 AM
The only thing this straightening gel did for my hair was thicken it. My hair felt dry and frizzy afterward, and it did not straighten well I hate the sickly sweet spearmint smell which reminds me of the dentists. The tube sits upright so all soon as you open the lid it comes rushing out. The lid gunks up with dried product and can't be closed properly, and it leaks on my counter top. Price is not too high but you only get 4.2 floz/125ml so I put a 4.

Moisturizers -Lancome - Bienfait Multi-Vital SPF 30
tinkerrbelle 9/16/2007 8:07:00 AM
This SPF30 cream rubs in quickly. The active ingredient is octocrylene, it is the only photostable chemical sunblock. Some people are sensitive to or don't like chemical sunblocks, and there tend to be greasier than the natural physical sunblocks but the there are advantages: 1 - can be used under mineral makeup powders without a pearly white sheen, 2 - doesn't leave without a chalky cast on the skin that some titanium dioxide and zinc oxides (the two natural physical sunblocks, also photostable) can do, 3 - doesn't block skin pores like some titanium dioxide formulars do on some people But like all chemical sunblocks, Its oily, moisturising and shiny. Not lightweight, not suitable for combination skins its recommended for. If you want a non-oily sunscreen then this is not the one for you. You'd be better off getting a physical sunblock. The pump dispenser delivers the amount you want cleanly. The highly scented odd smell is off-putting, my BF hates it! I do not think it suitable for senstive skin. It stings, even if I only use it on the backs of my hands! I imagine its either too much fragrance, or the chemical sunblock ingredients. Its an ok SPF30 cream, with photostable ingredients and excellent product delivery, but considering its over-fragranced and expensive, its not worth the price in my opinion.

Moisturizers -Shiseido - Pureness Protective Moisturising Lotion SPF15
tinkerrbelle 9/16/2007 6:42:00 AM
This slightly pale flesh tinted lotion is a very similar product to Shiseido's Moisture Mist Gentle Protective Moisturiser SPF19 Sunscreen which I really like and buy frequently (I've reviewed this too). But I find it a bit too greasy for the summer over my oily t-zone. It is good possibility for sensitive skin because of no chemical sunblock. It has the physical sunblock titanium dioxide which gives my skin a rest from chemical sunblocks. Doesn't clog my pores even though I've heard titanium dioxide does in some people. The pack is a cute white fairly small tubby bottle with a round lid. There's a loud metal shaker ball in the bottle to mix it thoroughly. The formulation goes on smoothly and rubs in quickly. Initially it looks white, but a little more rubbing in and that quickly disappears. The titanium dioxide doesn't make my complexion look chalky white, just slightly pale. So I put a bit of natural blush on my cheeks (I need the contour anyway) or mix it with a bit of dark foundation to make a tinted moisturiser. Late summer I'll have a bit of colour and probably won't need to do this. I think it has more perfume than the moisture mist lotion though, which may irritate some sensitive skins. Its a light fresh scent. My skin can still happily tolerate it though. What surprised me was that its ability to keep my skin moist all day. The finish was both matte, moist and dewy, and it stayed that way all day. I liked the dewy plump feel it gave my cheeks! My t-zone was shiny by the end of the day, so I have to use a light dusting of powder or a shine eliminating cream. Shiseido pureness have a good one, and I've got a new Almay one to try.

Treatments -Sebastian - Body Double Thick-Extreme Treatment
tinkerrbelle 9/16/2007 4:09:00 AM
My hfine air got twice the volume, no frizz, smooth and shiny, so touchable with texture and hold!! I could brush it easily too. It really looked as if my thin fine hair was super thick and healthy naturally. No greasy limp hair the next day either. Just natural till I wash it out. You saturate the hair with the priming lotion, then put on the thickening serum and blow dry as usual. I do mine, as always, upside down then flip. Big sexy volume all over, including the roots. It definitely does have a cherry (?) almond smell, its really strong and I like it. But I've heard that only 2% of people or so can smell almonds, the rest will rightfully say, "there's no smell!" The only annoying thing is the packaging/product delivery. The primer bottle is marked off at 4 levels, and the thickening serum comes in 4 snap-off unresealable ampules. So they want you to have only 4 applications, and you've got 5 pieces to store. I found I can get around 12 applications from a bottle, so I have to guess how much primer to use, and then store an partially used opened serum till next time (plastic wrap to seal) as well as not loose the other unopened little ampules.

Styling Products -L'Oreal - Studioline Hot Straight
tinkerrbelle 9/15/2007 11:36:00 PM
Straightened my fine wavy hair, took out most of the frizzies, leaving my hair thicker, shinier. The iron slips through my hair easily when using this. Doesn't have much hold as my hair starts curling again by the end of the day though. Nice fruity smell. Tricky to use without product overload on fine hair. The secret is to place only a peanut size at a time, rubbed between the palms of your hands to distribute thinly and evenly, then massage it down the length of the hair (avoiding the roots), running your hands through the hair more thoroughly than with other products. This is to get even distrubution and avoid product overload in any one area. If you need to apply more, repeat process 2 or 3 times, but only a peanut each time . I can only use 1 -2 peanuts at most or I get limp and stringy. Love the hot pink bottle is cute but the lid pops up when travelling so I have to tape it down to stop it leaking.

Moisturizers -Shiseido - Moisture Mist Gentle Protective Moisturiser SPF19 Sunscreen
tinkerrbelle 9/15/2007 6:35:00 AM
Sensitive skins might like this one to give their skin a rest from chemical sunblocks and harsh fragrances. Its not quite fragrance free but the fresh clean fragrance is subtle and I found it didn't sting even the sensitive pink skin around the edges of my nose. It has the physical sunblock titanium dioxide which gives it a slightly pale sheen (mix a bit of darker foundation for a natural glow and it won't be pale) and is photostable. The formulation goes on smoothly and feels very silky. Its an odd feel initially, both powdery-dry to touch and yet moist feeling at the same time. Its good because its not shiny, and doesn't slide into and sting the eyes when used on the forehead. (I have greasy skin and sunblocks usually slide in hot weather) The pack is tall and slender and fits into the handbag or on a crowded bathroom bench easily. There's a loud metal shaker ball in the bottle to mix it thoroughly. The applicator tip is like an eyecream dispensor, so you can cleanly dispense the amount you want. Even just a little bit if you want with no wastage or mess. I personally wouldn't buy it again because I am one of the few people whose pores clog with blackheads when using products containing titanium dioxide. So I am steadily giving up all those products and have gained clearer skin. Otherwise I'd recommend this with 5 stars and use it again because of its many good features.
