Mascara -Max Factor - Masterpiece Max
1017 1/3/2008 2:41:00 PM
I just had to comment...if this is the UK name for the US sold Volume Couture...it is the best mascara I have ever used (someone mentioned they were the same). So if anyone is looking at Masterpiece Max...TRY IT! I love my Volume Couture! It beats out any high to low end mascara I have tried. I love the darkest black color...what ever they call it for Masterpiece. For Volume Couture it is "rich black".

Eyeliner -MAC - Prunella eye kohl

Why did I put off buying this for so long? And why would I ever need to wear black eyeliner again! I put this on and my brown eyes just looked so sexy and wow. It looked amazing. A sublte, not overwhelming purple that really defined my eyes, but not too harsh. What a great find! I love Teddy for everyday...or anytime actually. But this may be my new black.

Mascara -Maybelline - Define A Lash Volume Mascara
1017 12/29/2007 10:19:00 PM
UPDATE: I like it better than the regular Define-a-Lash (green tube), but it does NOT replace my HG Max Factor Volume Couture - rich black. I just don't seem to get enough oomph from the Maybelline versions of this new brush...at least not what I get when I use MFVC. Probably my favorite Maybelline mascara thus far...but Max Factor Volume Couture is still my Holy Grail and what makes my eyes pop. The Maybelline formula is a lot softer going on (more wet), but dries the same. My lashes don't seem as dramatic as they do with the MFVC. I absolutely love the pink tube though...just not what is inside! ORIGINAL POST: Oh...you all already know about this new version. Oh well, I just bought this and wanted to let everyone know it is out there...but looks like you know. I will update when I actually try it out. But I do love the cute pink/fuscia tube! I didn't care for the regular Define-a-Lash in the green tube...maybe this one will be different. FYI-Currently my HG is Max Factor Volume Couture in Rich Black. I will let you know how this compares (IMO). (I hope a new picture of the PINK tube can get posted.)

Styling Products -TiGi - Catwalk Curls Rock Curl Amplifier
1017 12/28/2007 2:17:00 PM
This is one tempermental product! On the good days...it can be really good. But when it goes bad...it goes really bad. People are dead on with the whole your hair needs to be WET, SOPPING WET. I never get good results when I use this at the gym because I care more about getting dressed first and then my hair dries just a bit too much during that time. Where at home, I can do my hair ASAP regardless of how dressed I am. If you like soft, flowing hair...this isn't for you. If you like well shaped, frizz free (close to it), defined curls (when you use it right), Curls Rock Amplified is worth a try. The problem is that if it dries bad or mishapen...it tends to stay that way. Usually if my curls dry funny I can pull them back in a loose ponytail, let my hair down a bit later and have nice waves...not so much with Curls Rock. I got it dirt cheap at the holiday clearance sale at Trade Secret (I got the Curls Rock Amplified and Booster for @ $8.00 because they were packaged as a holiday gift set) so I may keep it and experiment with the Amplified.

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Line Intensifique Extreme Wear Liquid Liner
1017 12/20/2007 4:05:00 PM
The ONLY liquid liner I have ever been able to use and tolerate. It is very easy to apply and washes off easily. I love the softer flexible tip. It applies very smoothly...no tugging. This is now my staple black liner. All other eyeliners I use are MAC eye kohls (Teddy, Powersurge and Tarnish). But when I want black liner...this is it! I like this much better than Cover Girl's Line Exact...that tip was too hard and tugged at my eye.

Foundations -Max Factor - MAX FACTOR LASTING PERFORMANCE
1017 12/16/2007 5:42:00 PM
FYI - There are two different listings for this...one under "Foundation" and one in the subcategory "Liquid". An average foundation...but I love the squeeze bottle for mixing it with my favorite SPF.

Liquid -Max Factor - Lasting Performance

IUPDATE 12/22/07: I think this is giving me small pimples here and there. ORIGINAL POST: love this packaging! I love the skinny tube and the squeeze nozzle. I will put a drop of this in my Oil of Olay Complete and make my own TM. The packaging, price and availablility is what I love best about this stuff. It doesn't seem too bad as a stand alone foundation. It does seem to go on a bit dry..and may show off those fine lines and wrinkles. Basically, once I smiled, I would have to smooth out a laugh line a bit. The foundation by itself is a "3 lippie", but that packaging is so easy to use for how I use it, I want to give it four lippies (I will stick with 3 since the review is about the foundation, not the package). I do like this for making a TM though and it fits easily in my makeup and gym bags! Note: I am NW20 and use the Fair Ivory (I think). It is a close match, but not sure if it is a perfect match.

Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Face & Body Foundation
1017 12/15/2007 10:35:00 AM
UPDATE: Now this comes in a pump bottle! That was my biggest pet peeve and what kept me from buying it in the first place. Now I use it and love it, especially in winter. This is not my favorite on hot humid days though...it feels like it might slip off. PROS-Perfect color match (NW20 = #20), feels nice going on-like lotion and blends pretty easily, once applied gives a very nice finish. I will still give it the lippies I did because at first application...it does look nice. CONS-Can turn dewy, oily, wet however you want to phrase it, after a few hours-so great for a photo, but not so much on longevity on hot humid days. ORIGINAL POST: I am MAC NW20 and wear this in #20. To be honest, this review is from just two days of wearing from a sample. Sephora was out of my color and I wish it was a pump or squeeze bottle. But, if they had it in stock I would have left with it. As for the product...it really is as good as everyone says. I have pretty nice skin as is, but not perfect. With other foundations, I either felt them on me, they looked/felt too heavy and I lost "me" or on the other side of the scale...it was just putting color on my face...it didn't do anything. MUFE Face and Body REALLY did make my skin look almost flawless, fresh, dewy (not matte which I don't want & if you're oily...this may not be for you). MUFE Face and Body was the first one I have tried that really, really gave me that very polished, almost airbrushed feel and look. Plus I loved the way it felt on my skin. It is very easy to put on (I put it on just like lotion) and looks great. If you are considering this...try it. At least pick up a sample of it from Sephora...you will love it. PS-If you have oily skin...you probably want to go with the matte foundation from MUFE. Mine is normal - dry, so this feels kind of moisturizing to me.

Styling Products -Brocato - Mousse Volumizing Foam
1017 12/8/2007 1:18:00 PM
UPDATE: I returned the mousse, but my bad hair may have had something to do with the Brocato Cloud 9 Shampoo and Conditioner too. I used the S&C today with a usually never failing styling combo...and my hair looks blah. Below average mousse. This mousse is not worth the money. My Got2Be Voluptuous Volume Mousse is way better, not to mention the Kenra, Joico or PM mousse products. This is just awful...my hair is dry, crisp...looks fried. My curls have no love and my roots don't even have any volume. Not good. Oh well. I should have tried the new Joico curl cream/gel instead. I will be returning this.

Styling Products -Frederic Fekkai - Glossing Cream with Olive Oil
1017 12/4/2007 4:53:00 PM
This is one of those products that every one seems to love but me (much like Maybelline Full n Soft mascara). All this does for me is flatten my fine wavy/curly hair. It sucks the life out of my 2a waves. I wish it worked as it seems to for everyone else...but it just did a whole lot of nothing. I tried it every which way I could, but just "ehh". And "ehh" is not worth the price

Moisturizers -Olay - Complete Defense Daily UV Moisturizer SPF 30 - Sensitive Skin
1017 12/4/2007 4:15:00 PM
UPDATE 1/8/13 - Dear 1017 - Quit trying this! It breaks you out instantly. And since you didn't remind yourself in your first review because you weren't sure if it was THIS breaking you out, let me be perfectly clear this time. THIS BREAKS YOU OUT STOP TRYING IT! STICK TO THE COMPLETE SENSITIVE SKIN SPF 15! ORIGINAL POST: I did not like this as much as the SPF15 either. I love the SPF 15 version...it has been a staple for years.

Styling Products -Wella - Liquid Hair Brilliant Spray Gel
1017 12/3/2007 4:47:00 PM
I used to use this stuff before I moved to a different state from my home state quite a few years ago. When I could not find it easily here, I just let it go. A few years pass and I notice the rave reviews here and Allure's constant great ratings...and I went on a new search for it. It is still hard for me to get without ordering online, but it is the only gel I have used that can do everything. It works as the product you put on damp hair and style. It works for those mid-day touch ups. And it does give very nice shine, texture and feel like all have said before me. While I have yet to commit to using only one product at a time, this is one that comes very close to being a contender.
