Treatments -DDF - Benzoyl Peroxide Gel 5% with Tea Tree Oil

this did not have the magic powers for me that it did for other ppl. works fine to prevent breakouts, but no good as an emergency spot treatment. oh well.
Styling Products -Jonathan - Create Motion Shaping Creme Gel
shamuball 10/15/2011 7:19:00 PM
100% vegan. back of the bottle says: "I mixed creme w/gel for conditioning hold while keeping hair's natural movement." -Jonathan lots of nice-sounding natural ingredients listed on this bottle: lemongrass essential water (what *is* that?), sweet almond protein, nettle + watercress extracts (not kidding)... but basically the best use i can find for this is sleeking back my hair when i put it in a ponytail to control flyaways. i like that it doesn't give me a super shiny hard hair like gel does. it's super lightweight; i don't notice it conditioning my hair, but i like that it doesn't have a strong fragrance.
not a magic spot treatment, but good for preventing breakouts. i smear a thin stripe of this about 3 times a week on my forehead, nose, chin- where i always get breakouts. once i do get a zit, i use DDF sulfur mask to dry it up. but this is great + not overdrying. pricey, but lasts a long time for me cuz i use so little each time.
$4.54 a bottle at target + it does what it's supposed to- woot. bad thing is it smells like motel shampoo :(
Lip Treatments -Origins - Soothing Lip Balm 97% Certified Organic
shamuball 8/30/2011 1:22:00 PM
funny, for me, this stick is too soft. feels great when it's on my lips, but often chunks of it will come off if i apply it with the same pressure i do other lip balms. now that i'm used to it, it's ok. i don't mind the taste.
too bad it's so pricey, cuz i'm loving this! perfect light scent for summer, not overpowering or heavy.
overpriced + overhyped. i don't get any bad reactions from this, but the moisturizing effects are no better than my cheaper conditioners. enh.
Moisturizers -Clinique - Super Rescue Antioxidant Night Moisturizer
shamuball 3/17/2011 1:08:00 AM
i usually like clinique products, but this seems to clog my pores. it doesn't feel especially moisturizing either, so i keep applying it, which maybe is what's clogging my pores :)
points for not giving me a rash, but besides that, it doesn't control my acne that well. WARNING: this strips dye from color-treated hair!
Lotions/ Creams -Aveeno - Calamine and Pramoxine HCl Anti-Itch Cream
shamuball 2/22/2011 3:22:00 PM
i'm surprised by the high scores for this. normally i like aveeno products, but this doesn't soothe my facial eczema. plus i don't like the calamine smell.
Eye Makeup Remover -Origins - Plantidote Mega-Mushroom Eye Makeup Remover Pads
shamuball 2/20/2011 7:09:00 PM
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO- way overpriced + no therapeutic effects that i can tell. 2 lippies b/c my skin didn't have a bad reaction, but the pads feel scratchy + the product doesn't make my skin feel better.
Lip Liners -NARS - Velvet Matte Lip Pencil - Damned
shamuball 1/26/2011 5:52:00 PM
i wanted to like this. i like how it swatched- deep cool-toned crimson- but on my pigmented lips it somehow transformed into fuschia/magenta-ness, which is not my thing. also i had a hard time getting the matte color to look ok- endless cycles of balm, blot, color, blot, balm, color, blot blot blot- but couldn't figure it out.
Lotions/ Creams -Eucerin - Calming Creme Daily moisturizer
shamuball 12/28/2010 6:58:00 PM
LOVE this. i have wacky stupid skin that reacts to who knows what in the air + it's often dry + itchy. I apply this several times a day to keep myself from scratching.
Lotions/ Creams -Origins - All Purpose High Elevation Cream
shamuball 12/28/2010 6:38:00 PM
Even though New England's not "high-elevation", I hoped this cream would be moisturizing enough to battle the dryness + indoor heating that makes my skin itchy during the winter. After using this several times a day, I was still itchy and ended up switching to Eucerin, which worked out much better. Super disappointing, especially considering the price of a little tube of cream. I'm returning it.
Moisturizers -Origins - Constant Comfort Moisturizer Cream
shamuball 12/23/2010 11:31:00 PM
I like some Origins products, but this was a waste of $$. I get eczema and dry skin patches and allergic reactions depending on where I travel to, and this cream felt neither soothing nor moisturizing. It did make me break out though. It also has a surprisingly strong floral scent that I disliked. I gave it to a friend. I prefer Clinique's comfort cream.
