Shampoo -Ion - Moisturizing shampoo

Great shampoo if you need a boost in the moisture department. My hair isn't overly dry, but I like to get some more hydration when it comes to my ends (they are sun damaged). My hair looks so soft, and shiny after using this stuff. A little bit goes a long way too, so please keep that in mind. I follow up with an anti-frizz leave in condition by Ion as well, which helps my ends look even silkier and healthier. I LOVE Ion products. I can't see how this won't be a new love for anyone.

Moisturizers -Olay - Complete UV Protection Moisture Lotion Combinaton/Oily Skin SPF15
quidproquo 10/27/2009 7:04:00 PM
I have very oily skin all over my face. I've had one hell of a time trying to find a great moisturizer for my skin that won't: A. clog my pores, and B. make my already oily skin even oilier. Olay Complete for Combination/Oily skin was great! It was surprisingly light and actually seemed to make my complexion seem more even. I have noticed a slight glow on my face since using it, and really enjoy the benefits. My only complaint is that I still need to blot my face in the afternoon, as the oils still seems to seep out anyway. While I realize oily skin means you'll have oily skin, but a moisturizer helps with the abundance. If you leave your skin bare without any type of hydration, oily or not, your skin compensates for the lack of oil, thus producing the grease. Anyway, great product. Will definitely buy again, because nothing else I've tried has been as good for my skin.

Conditioner -Beyond The Zone - Last Call Leave-In Conditioner

I don't get how you pay full price for a bottle that is half the size (see the curves on the bottle that chops the mL's in half). Anyway, this leave-in was "okay". It helped keep my wispy layers more "together" but didn't really make them feel THAT great. I'll use this stuff until it's gone, and then find something better. It's not awful, but I won't buy it again. In other words: meh...

Hair -Aura - rosemary mint shampoo

This shampoo smells and feels great when you're washing. People have mentioned this minty tingle, which I found was almost non-existant. I was expecting something cool and refreshing, but I was disappointed that it didn't happen for me. But hey, the smell and the overall feeling was amazing... like having an aroma therapy session in the shower. Seriously! The end result was very soft, and manageable hair. I found myself touching my hair more than usual the day I washed it with this stuff. It's a great rejuvenating shampoo, that's for sure. UPDATE: this shampoo completely stripped my hair and left it feeling so dry (after washing the next time after my first). I have never experienced unbrushable tangles in my life until now. I've tried 3 different moisurizing shampoos and conditioners to bring back the natural moisture in my hair. My hair is back to normal now, and I'll be taking this bottle back to Sally AND getting a trim to clean up the shedding that happened after I "attempted" to brush it. What an awful experience!

Treatments -Biosilk - Silk Therapy

This stuff made my hair feel and look dry. My hair is very healthy, and I only bought it to help my long wispy layers look more separated and "together". All it did was make my ends look sticky and gross. What's even worse is that it just REEKS of alcohol. The best was when my husband came to give me a hug when I had just put this stuff on my hair, and he was like "um... have you been drinking???" lol... this stuff is a joke. Oh, and P.S.? I'm well-aware that you should only use a very tiny amount. I applied even HALF of this "tiny amount" and it still made my hair look like someone tossed liquid cotton candy in it. Just letting you know.

Conditioner -Ion - Anti-Frizz Solutions - Leave-In Conditioner Detangler Spray
quidproquo 9/9/2009 10:50:00 PM
I picked up this awesome product at Sally's Beauty Supply to help keep my long, wispy layers looking healthy and separated. All other products seemed to make my ends look either dry or left a sticky build up on them. This product helps to keep my layers looking more "together", and detangles my strands to help make my hair more manageable. Ion's leave-in conditioner does exactly what it says it'll do. Great product!

Treatments -L'Oreal - Skin Genesis Pore minimizing Skin Re-Smoother

I'm sad to report that this product does NOT work. The only thing it does do is dry out my skin completely, and even my finger tips got all sandpaper'ish after applying every morning before my moisturizer. It also seemed to upset my eyes a couple hours later, which sounds weird seeing as you apply this stuff no where near your eyes. It was definitely this stuff that irritated them... I went through a process of elimination. Also, I don't have the craziest crater pores to begin with. So you'd think with a mild case of deep pores that this product would work. Um... NOPE!

Moisturizers -L'Oreal - Skin Genesis Moisturizer Lotion Oil-Free
quidproquo 9/9/2009 10:40:00 PM
When I saw this product, I thought it was going to be just what I was looking for. I have fairly oily skin (which is great 'cause I won't get wrinkles any time soon), so I need an oil free moisturizer/hydrator to help my skin stay more balanced. I find I get less zits if I moisturize, which I personally think is the key to helping keep your skin looking more clear and less oily. The less moisture on your skin, the more oil your face seems to puke out. Unfortunately, this product only made my face oilier and I had to stop using it after 2 weeks. BOOO!!!! Back to Oil of Olay oil-free for me. That stuff never made my skin feel like an oil slick. It's too bad; I liked the way it made my skin look for the first 2 hours. Boo, again!

Hair -Unlisted Brand - Biotera - Moisturizing Shampoo
quidproquo 9/9/2009 10:06:00 PM
I have fair hair with layers, and I keep my hair healthy. I have a water softener so I needed some extra moisture in my shampoos to keep it soft and manageable. A sales associate highly recommended the Biotera Moisturizing shampoo, and indicated that it was by the same makers as Biolage, by Matrix (which is definitely is NOT). In any case, I was very excited to try this new shampoo, and I even bought the huge 1L bottle. When I tried it, I noticed the shampoo didn't lather very well at all in the shower (which is strange seeing as I have soft water at home). That's not even the worst part: when I tried to comb my hair after my shower, it was impossible to brush. I have never in my life had tangly hair this bad, even with a leave-in sprayed everywhere it was impossible to detangle. I returned this stuff to Sally's Beauty Supply after I tried it twice (I made sure gave this product a fair shot). It was awful. Trust me!
