Lipstick -Jordana - Lipstick - Pink Brown
missthing303 5/28/2009 6:50:00 PM
This is my all time HG lipstick. Perfect MLBB pinky-brown/rosy color, slight shimmer, lovely buildable color and creamy texture. Long-lasting, color stays true and is a great base if you want to mix colors and make a neutral a bit pinker. It's almost like the color of a little girl's pigmented lips after eating a raspberry popsicle. This has been dicontinued TRAGICALLY, and I would so love it if they would bring it back. I love the feel and value and product quality of Jordana Lipsticks, but most of the current colors are garrish and awful. I went to ThreeCustomColors to get this shade duped and they did a decent job, but it is still not as nice a color. I will probably go back when I use up thier dupes and have them tweek the recipe a little. They have Jordana Pink-Brown on file if anyone is interested. Jordana:Please bring it back!!!!! Update: I have found a nice substitute that comes close to this shade on me: Ulta brand lipstick in "Heatwave". The color is very close, maybe a touch warmer but still very close. More impressively the buildable texture is very close, which is what made the original l/s so special. Still missing my old Pink-Brown, but I like the Heatwave.

Lips -Cover Girl - Outlast Lipstain - 420 Sassy Mauve
missthing303 5/23/2009 12:18:00 AM
I do like this. Like, not love sadly, but it's pretty good. The Sassy Mauve color looks perfect, exactly what I wanted when I swatched on my hand. A warm, crushed-berryish stain. Like the color of cran-raspberry juice. On my lips it turned a bit pinker than I would have liked. Much pinker actually and this makes me realize that any of the other shades that actually have pink in the name would pull way too fuscia on me for sure. But as this formula stains the lips like a magic marker would, you do need to add balm or lipstick or gloss or something anyway, to make it comfortable enough to wear. So I topped with a cool-neutral plummy shimmer l/s (Neutrogena Moistureshine l/s in Plum Perfect) and it made the color a nice plummy mauve. Topping it with a Clinique Braisin Gloss also looks nice, a mauvy-pinky-brown with light shimmer. Both combos give a nice MLBB effect, and when the top color wears off, the stain is still there which improves my underpigmented lips. I wish the color did not pull so raspberry on me, but I still like it. Will purchase again and hope for more colors from this line.

Lipstick -Sue Devitt - Zimbabwe
missthing303 5/12/2009 2:02:00 AM
I bought this sight unseen based on the MLBB reviews here. I wish I had waited to sample at a store because it is SO wrong for me. It's a basic creamy;nude, pure and simple, not pinkish enough to look good on me. Nice texture and pigmentation. Would look nice on someone else but too neutral on me, a cool-toned PPP. Bummer, I wanted to love it:-(. If anyone wants to swap let me know. I'll never wear it.

Shampoo -L'Oreal - EverPure Moisture Shampoo
missthing303 3/31/2009 7:12:00 AM
This was not the best sulfate free shampoo I've tried, but it was ok. I much prefer Devacurl Nopoo for a moisturizing SF or Wen, but this is much easier to find so that is a big plus. I did LOVE the scent of this shampoo however. Very herbal and spalike. It lasted all day and into last day and was discernable through my various styling products, but not in an offensive way. Very subtle; I would find myself saying "ooh, what smells so nice?" and then I'd realize it was my hair from the Everpure. It's a bit drying so far, but I know that an adjustment period might be in order with the sulfate free, so I may update. If I use a rich, moisturizing conditioner, the shampoo's moderate moisture is fine, so overall I like it thanks to the lovely scent. Will probably repurchase and I wish they'd make body wash type products with this scent. UPDATE: 4/3/09 This made my scalp itch and flake like crazy. Now I have dandruff and have to wash the flakes out of clean hair. Not working for me. Too bad, b/c I love the scent. Won't repurchase.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Bathed and Infused Ivory Soap Type
missthing303 12/6/2008 8:53:00 AM
I really wanted to like this. I am always looking or clean, simple soapy scents and I ordered B and I Ivory Soap and Dove of Peace in the perfume oil version. Ivory Soap was much more like Murphy's Oil soap on me, which was seriously disappointing. Dove of Peace was a much closer dupe of the actual Dove White bas soap scent. Avon's Mark Pure is a much closer scent to Ivory, sadly with very poor staying power. My search for a better Ivory contiues....

Styling Products -Unlisted Brand - Curly Hair Solutions - Curl Keeper

I must join the chorus and say I love this. It works like nothing else I've tried. Makes ny curls shiny, bouncy, piecey and it does not weigh my hair down. I did have to mix with some regular gel because alone it is a bit runny and not enough hold, but that is not a big deal. I often mix products as needed. Really great stuff and I plan to repurchase again and again!

Treatments -RoC - Retinol Correction Deep Wrinkle Serum
missthing303 2/26/2008 4:44:00 AM
This seems to work very well for me! I bought it a few months ago and was not impressed so I shelved it; I decided to try again for no particular reason the other night and I was pleasantly suprised! It has smoothed out my fine lines around my mouth significantly; better than many other creams and serums bith d/s and h/e that I've tried! I am impressed. It does not absorb well if you overapply, however, so one coat is enough; and if you use too much it sort of balls up like lint on the skin, which is what I did not like initially when I bought it and put it aside. Using less seems to take care of that problem though. I do need a moisturizer on top of this, which is one reason why I only gave 4 lippies, in addition to the tricky application. I am pleased with the results and will repurchase, if nothing changes.

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - Bag Balm
missthing303 1/19/2008 3:12:00 AM
I was given this by a friend and was very skeptical about it at first. The scent is unpleasant and a bit off-putting, but I tried anyway and found to my relief that the smell evaporates quickly, and the stuff works great!!! It helped my chronically dry cuticles and my boyfriend even noticed that my hands were softer! I am converted. I love the retro tin it comes in. The small purse sized one is great for travel and work so i always have one, and I have a large tin at home, from which I can refill the small one. I have recommended to friends and my Mom, and all have been very pleasantly suprised. I took off one lippie for the smell, but other than that, it's great!

Styling Products -Pantene - Texturize - Moussing Foam Wax
missthing303 8/24/2007 9:10:00 PM
I was very pleasntly suprised by this. I have med length curly/wavy hair in need of a trim to give it back some shape so I was looking for something to seperate and define as well as defrizz a bit. This actually did the trick. I use with the Pantene body spay gel and air dry 75%, then a couple of minutes when almost dry with the blow dryer and it looks great. Curls are "free flowing" as described on bottle. Used with pantene texturize poo mixed with care free curl moisturizing shampoo (my own hybrid concoction) and the pantene texturize cond. I usually hate pantene and have been devoted to Deva curl and other sulfate free prods. For some reason this works better these days. Will edit if it changes, but I'm liking this line a lot so far. BUT: Go lightly with the wax-mousse. Very easy to overdo it. That would be the trick, and the difference between loving and hating it....UPDATE: This stopped working for me. Too much buildup despite clarifying. Made hair dry and kind of goopy at same time. Bummer.

Styling Products -Matrix - Amplify Volumizing System Spray-Gel
missthing303 2/24/2007 6:33:00 PM
I like this a lot. I have med length curly hair, med to fine in texture that tends towards the dry side. When I use this with a blow dryer, it works great; nice bouncy long lasting volume and adds to definition and hold of nice curls. No good at all without a blowdryer but you can't have everything. Will def repurchase and expect this to be a new HG. I much prefer it to the regular gel in same line. spray gel much bmore convenient and distributes prod more evenly. UPDATE: This reaaalllly dried my hair out. Became a PITA to use and only works with a blowdryer. I seldom use one now so I stopped using this. Won't buy again. Still have 2/3 of old bottle.

Conditioner -DevaCurl - One Condition
missthing303 1/29/2007 11:34:00 PM
This has been my HG conditioner for a couple of years now, ever since having my hair cut at the Devachan salon in NYC. I use it with No Poo and it transformed my med curly hair from dry and dreadlocked to very healty and shiny. I have to stay with it though because whenever I change to another brand if I run out or something, My hair's chemistry gets disrupted and it starts to dry out again. 2x a month I clarify with Vo5 Kiwi shampoo follow with one condition to remove buildup, and it keeps me in good form. Recommend it often. Worth the extra $$ and trip out of the way to get it.

God help anyone stuck near somone wearing this. SOOO strong and asphyxiating. Sweet and awful in its potency. Anyone who thinks they are getting complimented is really just being asked because they are wearing too much and the poser of the question wants to make sure they know what the awful smell is so they never buy it themselves.I'd give it ) lippies if I could.

Scrubs -Olay - Regenerist Microdermabrasion and Peel Kit
missthing303 12/16/2005 5:55:00 PM
I got this based on recommendations that said it compared very well to the Philosophy Microdelivery Peel kit but was less than half the price. I found it to be similar and a good exfoliating system overall, but the Philosophy kit is so FAR superior and I've decided well worth the money. In a pinch, I'd repurchase the Olay kit as it is pretty good and better than the neutrogena microdermabrasion peel cream and the Loreal kit, but I really think the Philosophy kit is the really effective choice here and where I will put my money next time.

Mascara -Revlon - Colorstay lash tint [DISCONTINUED]
missthing303 12/16/2005 9:56:00 AM
Love this for Brows and Lower lashes only. No good for upper lashes. HAve repurchased several times as a Brow gel and it is now an HG brow stable for my sparse browed face. I wipe the gloppy excess off the wand and apply to brows and I have instant brows that last all day and look natural and requires baby oil to remove. The trick is to use an almost dry brush. I think it should be marketed as a waterproff Brow Gel as it is a very poor mascara. OK on lower lashes as it doesn't smudge and I apply lightly there. But Love it on Brows and pray they keep making it!UPDATE: Now discontinued to my horror. HAve switched to CG Marathon for brows.

High Impact Lip Colour SPF 15 - Metallic Sand
missthing303 12/16/2005 9:50:00 AM
I got this as a gift with purchase and have already repurchased. Great warm shimmery nude shade that is a MLBB staple for my PPP coloring and can be worn over othe other colors for variation. Feels nice, lasts a long time, love it and wish they'd expand the range of colors in this metallic line. Also have Gilded Pink shade but find it is too cotton-candy pink. Prefer Metallic Sand. Really enhances the pout factor. I get many complements.
