Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Moisture Sensitive Skin
rated 3 of 5

I have good luck with this lotion and am on my second bottle. I have on-the-dry-side, sensitive skin (face) and I HATE any greasy, smelly stuff on my face. This soaks in immediately, does not SMELL, is a decent price. This is my everyday choice after using and trying MANY brands. My skin has no adverse reaction(s) whatsoever -- no break-outs, no greasing up... I prefer a see-thru container but that's a small complaint. I do use Origins Night-A-Mins for night moisturizing. Overall I'm pleased with this lotion and I have had no unhappy reactions to this product. POST NOTE: This stuff is okay -- can't see/feel that it does much of anything actually. I'll stick with the high-end product I actually get results with.

Mascara -Lancome - Virtuose - Black Carat
rated 2 of 5

I just started using this so my review may change later. This is a really nice mascara. I don't find the Black Carat to be any blacker than any other black mascara, but it's probably just me! The curved brush almost made me not purchase (didn't do too well with the Definicils Pro brush) but made the plunge anyhow (I am a mascara junkied). I actually couldn't see that it made my lashes any denser or longer -- it's not a dramatic mascara and I thought Definicils made them look l-o-n-g-e-r by far.... BUT, like a previous reviewer stated, my lashes DID stay soft and pliable, and that's definitely a plus. Overall, a decent, but spendy everyday mascara. LATER: This is going back to Sephora - the brush is just too difficult for me to use properly. And the formula is too wet - caused me to HAVE to use an eyelash comb to get rid of clumps and globs....(Deducted a lippie)

Shampoo -Nexxus - sleektress

I just started using this shampoo so my review is limited at this point (I'll update later if it changes). Right off the bat I like this quite a bit. It lathers massively! smells pleasant, rinses out well, does not "grease up" my hair. I prefer a see-through container but can deal with it... The price is a lot less than I've paid for many more shampoos -- which by the way didn't work half as well as this one. I will purchase this again. (hair type: long, fine hair, lots of it, color-treated) LATER: TOO DRYING, WAY TOO MUCH TANGLING

Mascara -Lancome - Definicils Mascara
rated 3 of 5

This mascara is just about perfect for my lashes (fine, dense and very long). I especially prefer the sample-sized (gift-with-purchase) tubes. The formula / brush combination works well for me. No clumping, globbing, smearing, smudging...and I don't have to use a lash comb !!! (BIG plus in my book). It removes easily and cleanly with face cleanser/soap so I don't have to add one more item to the whole routine. This is not a voluminizing mascara -- it lengthens. It's not dramatic -- just enhances what you already have going on. Spendy but worth it in my book. POST NOTE: I was pleased with this mascara until I found a better one. Still have a pretty high opinion of this Lancome mascara

Mascara -Lancome - Definicils Pro (High Definition Curved Brush Mascara)
rated 2 of 5

I'm a fan of the "regular" Definicils - like it a lot. I tried this version thinking the curved brush made sense. Personally, I find it somewhat difficult to use. Other than the brush shape, I think this is the exact same as the "regular" Definicils and if you are handy with a curved brush, you'll probably enjoy this. I'm back to the straight-brush model...

Conditioner -Ted Gibson - Daily Nourish

This is most defintely not worth purchasing. My hair is a horrible snarled up mess, dried out, virtually impossible to brush thru after using this. The smell is great, the price is ridiculous, the product is worthless. Don't waste your $$$.

I have close to a dozen of these little bottles (the small oval-shaped bottles). They're wonderful! The colors are great (huge selection), the small-sized bottles are handy and fun (have you EVER used a whole bottle, large size?). It definitely takes two coats, the paint is a little thin. I'm pretty hard on my hands so I have to re-do every 3 or 4 days. The selection of colors is fantastic, the price is right, will continue to purchase.

Shampoo -Jason Natural Cosmetics - Voluminizing Shampoo

Nice! Good results, WONDERFUL smell, decent price. Wish the bottles were clear so I could see how much product is remaining, but that's a small complaint. Will buy this again -- compares well with high-end shampoos (I've tried plenty). LATER: Gave the remaining (more than half the bottle) to my friend. This dried my hair terribly and I had to struggle through a horrible bird's nest tangled up mess each time. NOT WORTH it to me!

Mascara -L'Oreal - Bare Naturale Mascara - Blackest Black
rated 1 of 5
h2okolor 9/17/2008 10:53:00 AM

This has to be -- by far -- the worst marcara I have ever tried. It really didn't do ANYthing it claimed it would. The brush design with the formula is awful. The brush is way, way too soft; the formula is much too wet, SO it makes globs, messes, and five giant lashes. After a day's worth of wear it DID flake and irritate my eyes something awful. This is about the most expensive "drug store" type mascara I ever bought. I can't think of anything good to say about this mascara. Between my daughter and me, we have probably tried virtually every mascara out there. This one rates at the very bottom on my list.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous with Curved Brush
rated 1 of 5

What a globby gooey mess... Put it on, have 5 or 6 big lashes, then comb and comb and comb with an eyelash comb to get your lashes back again. Makes my lashes hard and crisp -- NOT GOOD... I like the idea of a curved brush -- makes sense -- but the formula of this mascara is awful. Clumpy, wet, globby.....

Moisturizers -Bliss Labs - The youth as we know it
rated 4 of 5
h2okolor 8/27/2008 9:05:00 AM

I like this product. I guess I like it because it SMELLS SO GOOD. I can't see that it does anything whatsoever for my skin -- the amount of these miracle ingredients must be so microscopic as to be virtually non-existent.... It's a whole lot of $$$ for a very small amount and that most definitely lowered my lippie rating. Even as a gift-to-myself splurge, this is extremely pricey. But WOW it smells good!!!!

Cleansers -Bliss Labs - Fabulous Foaming Face Wash
rated 5 of 5
h2okolor 8/27/2008 9:00:00 AM

This is my favorite, everyday face cleanser. The packaging is convenient, the product is reasonably priced, the effect is more than acceptable (non-drying!), and the smell is VERY pleasant. I feel like there's a generous amount for the $$$. I have purchased numerous times and will continue to do so.

Conditioner -Aveda - Sap Moss Conditioning Detangler [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
h2okolor 8/27/2008 8:56:00 AM

I understand Aveda is no longer providing this product and it's been replaced with a "new", "improved" formula with a different name. I used a lot of the Sap Moss shampoo and conditioner over the past few years. It works pretty well for my hair -- the shampoo especially. The conditioner does a so-so job with detangling. The smell is a little strange and takes some getting used to but for the most part I liked it well enough I kept buying it. I like that it's packaged in see-thru containers. I've tried the "replacement" product and UGH!!!! HORRIBLE SMELL!!!! I'm off to find another brand....

Cleansers -Origins - Checks and Balances
rated 3 of 5
h2okolor 8/27/2008 8:51:00 AM

I buy this cleanser occasionally. I like the smell, I like the effect -- doesn't dry my face at all -- GOOD effect. The texture is pleasant and it takes very, very little to do the job. I like the see-thru tube, and the fact it IS a tube, but a small complaint is the last amount(s) in the tube when you near the end of it are virtually impossible to get out and use (that lowered my lippie rating on this). Overall, I recommend this cleanser and will purchase again. Later: too drying
