Polishes -New York Color - Quick Dry Nail Polish - East Village 206
rated 2 of 5

The ad N.Y.C. put out for this is extremely misleading. On the ad, it's a beautiful opaque teal color. When you actually try this on your nails, it's very sheer, I couldn't even get it as opaque as the ad after three coats. I may layer this over a white just to give it a tint of color. The texture's decent, not streaky or anything, but this is a horrible nail polish by itself.

Polishes -New York Color - Long Wearing Nail Enamel

I purchased this in Cashmere Creme, a very pretty pale blue with shimmer, in the bottle. When I painted it on my finger nails, it was extremely streaky, and the small brush didn't help either. I could barely get enough polish to paint one nail, and it was very rough, so I need like 3 coats to make it smooth. While it was just $1, you do get what you pay for, and I would've rather saved that money for a better nail polish.

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HiP Concentrated Duo - Charisma #518

I'm surprised by the bad reviews on this product. To me, the purple is gorgeous, though I do agree it's not the easiest to blend nor wear. I like to use this on the lower lash line to make my brown eyes pop, and I use the shimmery mauve color as an all-over lid color. Now that I've read everyone's reviews, I guess I can see why people dislike this, and I am tempted to exchange this with Sculpted, since the colors are somewhat similar.

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HiP Metallic Duo - Magnetic #206
rated 4 of 5
cjx3pooh 4/17/2010 12:50:00 AM

As gorgeous as the colors look in the pan, on my eyes, the shimmery dark navy blue turns out to be black/charcoal on the lid. The shimmery blue-silver turns out to be a darker shimmery grey on the lid, which isn't bad, but the combination together is too shimmery to wear. The reason I took a lippie off was really b/c the navy color turned black on the lid, which I'm not a fan of since I bought the duo for the navy shade. All in all, it is very pigmented, but blending isn't as easy as some other drugstore shadows I own.

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HiP Concentrated Duo - Foxy #808

I am undecided about how I feel about this shadow. I bought this thinking I would use the brown often, since it is matte looking and neutral. The pink also looked pretty, so I figured I had nothing to lose, getting it on a BOGOF. The shimmery pink barely shows up, and after I pile it on it really just looks like shimmer. And while the brown is very pigmented, it's almost too dark to use as an everyday crease color. I find that it has a little bit of a glimmer in it, barely noticeable. I would not repurchase, but I'm debating whether I should exchange it for another color that I would use more often.

Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Beauty Rush - Body Double Mist - Honey Do
rated 4 of 5

I instantly fell in love with this scent. It's light, it's sweet, and it's refreshing. The problem with this body mist, and the reason why I didn't give it 5 stars, is that the scent fades wayyy too quickly. Otherwise, I would buy this over and over :)

Lipstick -Unlisted Brand - CQ Lipstick in Tickled Pink (253)
rated 4 of 5
cjx3pooh 3/20/2010 8:05:00 PM

From the tube, it looks like a nude pink with some mauve undertones. On, it actually looks like a slightly coral nude pink with very few shimmers. The texture is great, glides on smoothly, has decent coverage. I really like this lipstick, it's one of my everyday go-to colors. It costed $3.44 at Walmart, the only store I've seen carry this brand. The reason I didn't rate it 5 is because I can't just go to the drugstore and pick this up, I have to go to Walmart, and also ... It's not always in stock at Walmart.

Polishes -Rimmel - Lycra Wear in Milk Chocolate
rated 4 of 5
cjx3pooh 3/13/2010 1:50:00 AM

I'm surprised some people gave this such a low rating. I purchased this after seeing xteeener from Youtube use it, and I have to say, it's not as good as I expected, but it's definitely not bad. The color is a very neutral tan brown color, with just one coat, it looks like an orange-nude color, but with two, it shows the true color in the bottle. The application is very smooth, the brush is nice, it spreads well, and the texture is creamy but not too thick. In terms of chipping, it chips for me after 3 days, using my favorite top coat, the Sally Hansen Super Shine. Unfortunately, it's not as good in lasting power as some of my other polishes, but that's okay. I recommend this nail polish for anything who's interested in an every day natural color that's not pink, b/c that's the original color for most people's nails.

Makeup Brushes -Sonia Kashuk - Bent Eyeliner Brush
rated 5 of 5

I am very pleased with this product. Originally, I thought I could deal with a angled or flat eyeliner brush, but after struggling for a few weeks, I decided to just buy this brush, it's $6 retail, which I consider not cheap since it never goes on sale. I have to say, this brush makes gel/cream eyeliner extremely easy to apply and I can get it much closer to my lash line, and there's no gap between the eyeliner and the lash line anymore :) I haven't tried it w/ liquid eyeliner yet, but we shall see.

Lip Gloss -NYX - Lipgloss with Mega Shine - Beige
rated 4 of 5
cjx3pooh 3/4/2010 10:46:00 PM

First of all, this color is NOT beige, it's a medium cream pink, so those of you ordering online, never judge by the name of the color. On another note, this is an excellent gloss that smells like cherry candy or tropical punch or something, sometimes it gets kind of sickening. The texture's very smooth, not sticky at all, but seems to settle into my lip line, which is why I took off a lippie. This color is also very pigmented, which I could say about all the Goddess of the Night lipglosses but I hear Smokey Look is sheer. Anyhow, I definitely recommend this lipgloss for anyone starting out, they're also only $4-5 depending on where purchased :)

Eye Shadow -Cover Girl - Eye Enhancers - Purple Pop
rated 4 of 5
cjx3pooh 3/3/2010 7:34:00 PM

I'm surprised that this shadow has such a low overall rating. I read this after I bought the shadow and was like, man, I should've not picked it up. But today I actually tried it on my eye, and I really like it :) It's kind of like a lavender purple that I've been looking for for a while. I have to admit, the color isn't true to the one in the pan. In the pan it looks kind of like a vibrant matte purple w/ blue duo chrome, but on the eyes ... Yeah, like I said, a lavender purple (you can still see the duo chrome if you look up close though). I think most people are disappointed that this wasn't as vibrant as they expected, but those of you who want an intense purple color, try the Sally Girl baked eyeshadow in Purple, it's great :) Also, this costs only $3-4, which is pretty good considering how much product you get, I might purchase this again depending on if I actually use this up. It has a perfumey scent, not crazy about it but you can't really smell it if it's on your eye. One gripe I do have about this is that it's not the most pigmented shadow, but not super sheer, I have to layer it a little it on my lid, but if I just use an angled eyeliner brush to line my bottom lash line, it's super pigmented, maybe it's the brush? (Sonia Kashuk angled liner brush).

Eye Shadow -Revlon - Matte Eyeshadow in Vintage Lace
rated 4 of 5
cjx3pooh 3/2/2010 7:16:00 PM

To be honest, I'm not thrilled about this product b/c I think my skin is like the same color if not a little bit lighter, so I can't really use it as a brow highlight or an inner-corner highlight. I could use this as an all-over lid color, but I like using taupe colors more. It has great texture and is very inexpensive, but I think they should broaden their matte color selection.

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HiP Metallic Duo - Platinum
rated 4 of 5

So I'm sure many people bought this for the metallic silver color. It looks like a liquid silver on the skin, amazing. Of course, being HiP, it is very pigmented but not that blendable. Anyhow, I'm glad I bought this and would purchase again :)

Lip Gloss -Cover Girl - WetSlicks Amazemint - No Care Bare
rated 4 of 5
cjx3pooh 2/28/2010 4:58:00 PM

I like this line of lip gloss from CoverGirl, it's moisturizing, light, and shiny. The reason I took off a lippie was b/c this color in particular isn't that flattering on me, and it's very sheer - I usually just wear it over lipstick to give it a bit of shine. The scent isn't the type of mint I prefer, it's a toothpaste mint, which I understand b/c it is combined w/ Crest, but ... I guess it's just personal preference. Also, the sponge applicator doesn't absorb a lot of product, which is good if you want to control how much lip gloss you put on, but I need 3 dips to cover my entire lip. EDIT: I noticed that after 30 mins or so the lip gloss is somewhat absorbed by my lips, which wouldn't be a problem except it makes my lips look cracked. Never layer this over lipstick! Your lips will look dry and cracked.

Lip Gloss -Yes To Carrots - C Me Shine in Rose Bliss
rated 1 of 5
cjx3pooh 2/28/2010 4:54:00 PM

I also got this at Target for $1.62, I actually twisted the cap open before the purchase (the seal isn't that tight) to smell the lip gloss, b/c with lip products, it's really hard to wear if you're just repulsed by the scent. Luckily, it was a minty scent, reminds me of Burt's Bee's. Now why I gave it a 3, maybe the 1st squeeze squeezed all the shimmer out, but it was straight up distinguishable glitter on my lips, which accentuates the fine lines of my lips. I really want to like this product b/c I LOVE mint, but the color just doesn't work out on its own, maybe I'll try it w/ a medium-pink lipstick to see if it'll tune it down. EDIT: I'm giving this a 1, at the end of the day it made my lips peel, horrible gloss.
