Lip Gloss -MAC - Chromeglass in Metalphysical
Dragun 11/17/2008 12:52:00 PM
It took me a long time to get my hands on this. I am so glad I finally did. I'm a PPP (NW20), and if I use a light hand, this give me a frosty, shimmery beach-y look. I think it will be better for warmer months, because of that beach-y business. Easy to apply and totally reminds me of SH's Chrome nail polish. Would re-purchase if it were possible.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Starflash - Lotusland
Dragun 11/4/2008 1:08:00 PM
In the site swatch, and in the pot, I thought this would look very similar to Lovely Lily pigment. Not so...on my NW20 skin, it has much more red undertones. I think it's a wonderful pink, and versatile. As a wash, highlight or a simple daytime look, it's great! Would re-purchase if necessary.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Top Hat [DISCONTINUED]
Dragun 11/4/2008 1:05:00 PM
This is a wonderful cool toned indigo/purple. It makes a fabulous smoke shade because it blends so very well. Works really nicely with Crystal and Idol Eyes for me. Initially, in the pot it looked a lot like Entremauve pigment to me, but after putting it on, Top Hat has more indigo and is more blackened than Entremauve. Would re-purchase, if necessary.

Mascara -Chanel - Mascara Exceptionnel
Dragun 9/29/2008 8:00:00 PM
Another Allure Beauty Adviser here. I love this mascara. I would never have tried it if I hadn't gotten the deluxe sample from Allure. It doesn't curl as I'd hoped, but the volume, length and intense color make it a great mascara.
There's an "instructional video" on the website that really doesn't tell you much, but the brush is very cool. The little bristles catch and grab those short tiny lashes, while the longer bristles deposit plenty of non-clumping, high pigment color. No smudging here either. Overall a great mascara, but I'm still whiny about the price tag.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Pigment in Sweet Sienna [DISCONTINUED]
Dragun 9/16/2008 12:25:00 PM
I love this shade! A warm grey with golden shimmer, it plays well with so many shades in my collection. Today it's SS paired with Seedy Pearl and it just looks so soft and polished without being garish. Would definitely repurchase, if it wasn't LE. Curse you M.A.C. marketing folk, curse you!!!!!

Lip Gloss -MAC - Oi Oi Oi
Dragun 8/19/2008 10:01:00 PM
M.A.C.'s lipglasses are usually too sticky for my liking, but the scent and shades are gorgeous. This is, as already well defined, a plummy shade, with not too much shimmer, but looks nearly nude on me. I like it, and it's traveled around in my handbag for a while now. Great for sheer summer color. Would not repurchase, probably won't use up.

Lip Gloss -Cover Girl - WetSlicks Lip Gloss - Patently Pink
Dragun 8/19/2008 9:59:00 PM
I received this product in a market research test. I was to use it for two weeks and then answer their questions. Around the same time, I swapped for M.A.C.'s Oi Oi Oi! lipglass. CG's smells exactly like the sweet vanilla of M.A.C.'s, has the same smooth feel, but isn't as sticky. Patently Pink is a more frosty, girly pink than Oi Oi Oi! and while it doesn't last as long as it should, it left a nice moisturized feel on my lips long after it was gone. Can't speak to the price, but if there was a shade of this really close to a M.A.C. l/g I wanted, I'd be hard pressed to decide.

Polishes -Unlisted Brand - Petites Nail Polish - #413 Halo Beige
Dragun 8/19/2008 9:52:00 PM
I was looking for a drugstore polish the colour of melted chocolate. I didn't find it. But for $1.38USD, I found Petites. I've got other shades in this brand, the bottles are smaller, the formulas are basically the same. But, I started out looking at Sally Hansen, Revlon and Cover Girl. I found a really neat looking sort of chocolate milkshake shade of Cover Girl, and the name was Beige Halo. I picked it up and wandered around and ran into the Petites rack. After looking for a minute I saw a bottle that was remarkably similar to the CG in my hand. I picked it up and lo and behold, the shade name is Halo Beige. In the crappy florescent glow of wal-mart's overheads, they looked exactly the same. It took four coats to get a true bottle shade, but it's incredible. It's not chocolate. It's...peachy nude rosy beige shimmer. I can't stop looking at my hands (for once all 10 nails are even) and want to try it on my pedi next. I think I may go back and check out the CG again, to compare formula/shade, but I would absolutely repurchase this shade and brand again. Edit: the shade name of the Petites is Halo Beige. :)

Fragrances -Dawn Spencer Hurwitz - The Color Orange
Dragun 6/5/2008 6:32:00 PM
This is a fantastic summer scent. Here are the notes from DSH's site: "Top notes: Bitter Orange, Blood Orange, Clementine, Petitgrain Middle notes: Italian Neroli, Orange Blossom, Osmanthus, Sweet Orange Base notes: Ambrette Seed, Patchouli, Rosewood (bois de rose), Tagettes" The Bitter and Blood orange and clementine hits me first, then the osmanthus and sweet orange soften things. On drydown, the woods and patchouli come up nicely without overwhelming the whole thing. Refreshing and different, this is a great scent to put on after a shower on a hot summer day to feel cool, clean and perfectly scented. Would repurchase.

Blush -Avon - Smooth Mineral Makeup Blush - Golden Glow
Dragun 5/29/2008 8:22:00 AM
I got this on the pre-sale when it was $4.99, in the new brochure it's now $9.00. I would have paid that much, it's well worth it. I've used other mineral blushes and this stands up well. Very finely milled, in an eerily M.A.C. like pot with a sifter lid. I chose Golden Glow because it looked very similar to NARS Orgasm on the page. IRL, it's not similar. It's a bit more pigmented, no where near so shimmery, and I'm liking it quite a lot. It is actually a glowy look for my PPP skin with freckles. Because of the awesome pigmentation, it takes very little to get a nice, sunkissed look for me. Would highly recommend if you're in the market for loose mineral blush. I will most certainly repurchase.

Brows -Avon - Ultra Luxury Brow Liner in Blonde
Dragun 5/19/2008 3:13:00 PM
Like the previous reviewer, I have very pale brows, and I've been on a search for the most natural looking brow definer since my teens. I got this for $1.99USD, and didn't have much expectation for it, as it's nearly impossible to find a true "blonde" brow shade. I have to say though, it was worth every little penny. It's creamy but not too soft, stays well, works great over my Lumene or UDPP. (Hint for fair browed gals, before putting your brow color on, use an e/s base, it will help the color stay just like on the lids.) I will definitely repurchase, a product that does what it should for 2 bucks......why wouldn't I?

Lip Treatments -Labello - Pearl & Shine
Dragun 5/18/2008 8:57:00 PM
I got the LE version of this, and it's my first Labello. I adore it. It's true that if I put too much on, I get a cakey, dead look. But with one good swipe, I get a pretty subtle pink pearly shade and the moisturizing feel is incredible. Now I want to try the other Labellos. Most assuredly would repurchase!!

Lipstick -MAC - Freckletone lipstick
Dragun 4/15/2008 11:43:00 AM
I've had this and a couple of N collection lippies on my wishlist for a bit. When DH bought it for me, I was over the moon, when I read evakser's review below, I was thrilled to see that it was a close dupe for 4N.
Freckletone is an almost exact match to the colour of my lips, with a slightly peach cast. No shimmer, good on my starting-to show-age lips. Feels nice on, I would re-purchase over and over again, particularly after finding out how close it is to 4N. Love it!!

Lipstick -MAC - Matte - Kinda Sexy
Dragun 3/26/2008 5:25:00 PM
I love M.A.C.'s lipsticks in general and this is definitely NOT an exception. I just adore Kinda Sexy. My DH got it for me as a gift going off my wish list, and it was unexpected. Usually matte formulas are too drying, but I've found if I really balm up my lips when I'm putting on my face, then put on KS when I leave the house, I get much better results. And those results? A pinkish coral hue that makes my full lips look fuller and softer. Great shade, would absolutely repurchase.

Gels/Soaps -mark - Chocolate Orchid Shower Wash
Dragun 3/19/2008 12:58:00 PM
I received this as a gift in tandem with the fragrance of the same scent. While there is a great heavy chocolate note, I can detect the orchid, although it's certainly not as strong in the gel as it is in the fragrance. The lather is nice and creamy, but I would love a tad more moisture at the end. mark's products are cheap enough to justify hauls for me and I would definitely purchase this again.
