Lip Liners -Rimmel - 1000 kisses stay on lipliner in wild clover
rated 4 of 5
ComplexBeauty09 12/19/2009 12:27:00 PM

This is my HG lip liner. This color flatters my natural lip color to the fullest, bringing warmth to my face. It's easy to wear this color alone or mix it with a lip gloss or stick that’s either a rose or peach hue. I don't think it last as long as made to believe (1000 kisses hehe) and for me personally I wish it was natural/organic based product.

Fragrances -Lavanila - Vanilla Spice
rated 5 of 5
ComplexBeauty09 11/25/2009 9:44:00 PM

At first sniff I had to have but I waited until got the extra cash. It is warm, rich vanilla without being foodie. It's quite complex (compared to the others in this line) and you can defiantly smell the vanilla along with the spices. For me it is an easy vanilla fragrance to wear because it is not overpowering. It last just as long as other synthetic perfumes do. I may repurchase in the future if they come out with body butter.

Conditioner -Unlisted Brand - David Babaii for WildAid Hydrating conditioner

**update** this irritated me scalp extremely... I am upset as I love the performance on my hair but this really damaged my scalp. I am on my second bottle of this I must say I am 100% satisfied with this product. Now, I do tend to go towards more natural products for myself but I feel not all man made ingredients are bad. This conditioner for example is without sulfates, parabens and petroleum and in my book safe and eco-friendly. The packaging is made with recycled material, free of all animal testing and when you purchase a bottle some of the profit goes to wildaid an organization for endangered animals. About the conditioner; The scent is yummy coconut and not at all sickly sweet. The conditioner works well through hair leaving it tangle free and perfectly moisturized! Hair feels so soft and looks healthy. The trick I use, I mix match the shampoo and conditioner. I find using the amplifying shampoo with the hydrating conditioner is just the right concoction for my hair :) **UPDATE** I just discovered this brand and they have already changed the formula on me!! Makes me so sad and mad all at once! I opened my new bottle today to find the smell (not coconuty) and consistency (more liquidly) had changed. The ingredient list is now less natural and with more silicones. It still seems to be treating my hair the same.

About the shampoo; The smell has me hooked, a creamy yet spicy scent that leaves your hair smelling delicious! I find the scent unisex because it is not powdery/flowery at all! and I love that. To me it smells expensive. And the performance of the shampoo is great with just the right amount of suds, leaving hair shinny and clean..with a small amount of body. The trick I use, I mix match the shampoo and conditioner. I find using the amplifying shampoo with the hydrating conditioner is just the right concoction for my hair :)

Conditioner -Dr. Hauschka - Jojoba and Marsh Mallow
rated 2 of 5
ComplexBeauty09 9/14/2009 10:49:00 PM

This smells yummy.. and like the other reviewer said it's a pity that this did not work better considering the ingredient list. The conditioner is watery, not like most conditioners that hold right onto hair. When in hair it was hard to brush through. It was moisturizing but it left hair without shine and when my hair was dry, it was hard to style. It made hair also very frizzy. I had this product for about 3 months and it got bad on me so I had to toss the remaining amount out.

Shampoo -Dr. Hauschka - Apricot Shampoo
rated 3 of 5
ComplexBeauty09 9/14/2009 10:35:00 PM

I bought this because I was hoping it would help with my awful dandruff. It’s not that it didn’t help at all but it didn’t help as much as I needed it too. When i first started using, hair felt dry but supper shinny. After about a month’s use, I could tell the natural oils and extracts were really doing their job in the treatment of dry hair. Hair became too oil. It was my mistake to buy this because I needed something with dandruff control not dryness. I give it a B+ for hair that needs moisture. I also ended up using a lot every time in the shower, as I felt it didn’t saturate enough (or get very far) with just a normal size amount of product. There was no sudding, I’m fine with a small amount but this had none at all. The smell was pleasant, 100% natural with lots of sweetness. I understand why the product is pricey as it has a lot of natural goodness but I will not repurchase.

Lip Gloss -NARS - Lip Lacquer in Capucine
rated 4 of 5
ComplexBeauty09 6/19/2009 4:12:00 PM

In the pot it looks very orangey but on my lips is turns a beautiful coral color! I mean true coral. My absolute favorite thing about this lip gloss is that it stays on all day. Its also nice that it last because it is in a pot, you need a lip brush to apply. So use once before going out an you're good. It's not sticky and not much smell. This I believe is one of those glosses that turn the perfect color on everyone.

Masks -Pangea Organics - Facial Mask - Japanese Matcha Tea with Acai & Goji Berry
rated 5 of 5
ComplexBeauty09 6/12/2009 11:38:00 AM

This mask really feels like it pulls out impurities in the skin. Skin just glows afterwards and feels fresh and clean. The look of the mask is VERY natural and I like that. The smell can be over whelming (can burn eyes!) but it doesn't smell bad, it's refreshing. I like the idea that this mask is also a mild exfoliator. I work the bits of herbs on my skin while applying and also when I am washing it off. I use this once a week for a pick me up, works like a charm.

Bath Treatments -Ren - Moroccan Rose Otto Bath Oil
rated 5 of 5
ComplexBeauty09 6/11/2009 11:54:00 AM

The best way to describe the scent is a peppery rose. It is an unbelievably clean, fresh, rose scent. When I take a whiff of it, it reminds me of my favorite rose white tea. When it settles on the skin, the clove begins to show through. This turns bath water milkly and the oil is moisturizing and non greasy.

Scrubs -Jurlique - Daily Exfoliating Cream
rated 4 of 5
ComplexBeauty09 4/21/2009 5:14:00 PM

I look forward to using this every weekend, sort of a weekend treat for my skin. The smell and texture i adore! The scent is a soft and lovely, of roses and calendula with the hint of honey and almond. The texture of this cream, takes time getting use to, very chunky. Different from any exfoilant treatment I ever used. If you have sensitive skin you can't go wrong with this. Like I said before, at first it's hard to figure out how this should work. I find it works best for me to water it down a bit with wet fingers and work it on slightly damp skin. Just like all the rest of the reviewers who truly love this, I wish this product wasn't so pricey.

Bath Treatments -LUSH - Amandopondo bubble bar
rated 3 of 5
ComplexBeauty09 1/28/2009 2:17:00 PM

I bought this because of the true rose scent! Very beautiful, topped off with a small, dried, tea rose. When used in the bath a lemon scent emerges, which I found refreshing on my skin, but much rather it stayed the classic rose scent. I set the whole bar in the tub while it is filling up and take it out when I get in. Bubbles up quite nicely. I have gotten about 3 uses out of it.

Masks -LUSH - Brazened Honey face mask
rated 4 of 5
ComplexBeauty09 1/28/2009 1:45:00 PM

I love this. So far this is the only thing I will continue to buy form LUSH. This mask is the first mask that I have used, that would be labeled as a detoxifying mask. Best to leave this on until it dries, exfoliates and brightens skin. When I have the time to lay around I use this mask on my chest and neck, I see great results in doing this. I am also a fan of how fresh this mask is, so I do not mind the early expiration date. Many have complained about the scent, which I find pleasant- fresh cut wildflowers/honey scent. I would like to break down the ingredients in this- to show the benefits and to clarify which skin type this is best for. Ingredients: Kaolin, Talc, Fresh Lime Juice, Sage, Rosemary and Juniper berry Infusion, Fresh Free Range Eggs, Honey, Glycerine, Fresh Fennel, Ground Walnut Shells, Peanut Oil, Bentonite Gel, Fresh Ginger Root, Fresh Parsley, Fresh Coriander, Ground Tumeric, Ground Cardamom, Clove Bud Oil, Ginger Oil, Vetivert Oil, Juniperberry Oil, Perfume. Kaolin is a white clay that detoxify and provide minerals to the skin (best for oil/normal skin) Talc is an ingredient that this mask could do with out- has been linked to cancer, harmful to the lungs and irritating. (sensitive skin beware) Lime juice has antibacterial and antiseptic effect. This is what brings about the tingling in this mask (best for oily/ bad for sensitive can be very irritating) Sage, rosemary and juniper berry are all essential oils known to balance oil/ decreases oil production. (oily) Free range eggs- great for repairing the skin, helps with sagging. (all skin) Honey sooths, antibacterial (normal) Glycerin (all skin) Fennel skin soother is a wonderful treatment for prematurely aged (all skin) Ground walnut shells for exfoliation (normal/ not for sensitive) Peanut oil moisturizing (normal) Bentonite is a clay, does the same as kaolin (oil/normal) Ginger detox, anti-inflammatory (normal) Parsley antioxidant (normal) Coriander detox (normal) Ground Tumeric anti-inflammatory (normal) Clove Bud Oil detox (normal) This mask as you can see, is best for normal skin types.

Scrubs -Ojon - Tawaka Ball [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
ComplexBeauty09 1/20/2009 3:31:00 PM

This is my favorite shower time treatment at the moment. I had my eye on this since it came out and waited to get it on sale $35, which I feel is a decent amount for this product. The smell is a rich, dark, cocoa and makes the whole bathroom smell amazing. Skin feels very soft after using. This is big, so you have to have a space to store it where no water hits it. So far I have used it everyday for about 3 weeks and still much left. I really like this item, along with other Tawaka products Ojon offers. **Update~I can not believe how long this lasted! I have had it 6 months now and it's still going strong. I think i'll get about 3-4 more months out of it!

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Yogurt Mask
rated 5 of 5
ComplexBeauty09 8/13/2008 3:26:00 PM

Well, it's that time a year. When I pull out the facial masks and start getting my skin ready for the weather change. Finally went to the store and bought myself a tub of Dannon's All Natural pain yogurt. I plan on using this all winter long. This took me a while to try as a facial treatment 1) because I don't like yogurt (to eat that is) and 2) I have a problem with the smell of yogurt too (smells to me like sour milk!). I over came all that, and so happy I did! It really does do everything I hoped it would do for my skin. Brightens, softens, moisturizes, and helps with little breakouts. After using it a couple of times, I did some research on what can be added in with yogurt for other benefits. Many possibilities came up, lemon juice, honey, oatmeal, chickpea flour, aspirin tablets, and Vitamin E.. the list goes on. I decided to go with the ingredients of grounded oats, honey and a drop of ylang ylang essential oil.

Cleansers -Garden of Wisdom - Jen's Green Tea/Shea Cleanser
rated 3 of 5
ComplexBeauty09 8/1/2008 6:35:00 PM

Over all this is a nice cleanser, and that's it, nice. I like the thinkness and it gives a nice lather. I use this in the morning when my skin is already free of makeup and just needs a nice mild cleans. The major thing I don't like about Jen's cleanser is that my skin doesn't feel fresh afterwards, (if I use it at night) it doesn't feel like it gets the makeup off. I would recommend this though, for anyone who has sensitive, dry skin. I think Jen's Green Tea/Shea Cleanser would work well for you.
