Loose Powders -Bare Escentuals - Mineral Veil
Chubz 6/4/2009 3:21:00 AM
for all of you people with bad skin like me, i'm telling you... you are BETTER OFF with $30 urban decay surreal skin mineral make-up. it really does work wonders on my large pores, redness, acne scars, and combination / bad skin that breaks out easily. (read my review about it! it's my HG mineral foundation!) majority of mineral veil is cornstarch + other preservatives like parabens and such. a good mineral make-up should NEVER have preservatives and fillers (they expire). it's supposed to be all natural pure minerals that last forever. i have a huge container of cornstarch sitting in my cupboard. i could have just used that. haha. it made me break-out and irritated my skin. makes dry patches noticeable when used alone. really bad. it itches. bleh. this stuff works for some people, which is great. but in my opinion, don't blow your money on this product. really.

so i love this stuff... it smells great. tames alot of fly aways and frizziness. i use just a little bit and i run it through my hair a few times after rubbing it in between my finger tips. makes my hair really shiny. i can still straighten my hair after using it also. good stuff.

Makeup Brushes -Sephora - Professional Angle Brush
Chubz 5/19/2009 3:04:00 AM
i love this angle brush! i've had it for about a year and a half now. still works great! i use it to fill in my brows, to apply cream liner, wet eyeshadow as liner, and for highlighting the inner corners of my eyes to make them bright. it gets so much done for my eye make up! so convenient and handy. just make sure to always wash any cream liner off of it before it dries since it can misplace the bristles, which is a cardinal rule for any angle brush really. it's a great angle brush!!!

Makeup Brushes -Bare Escentuals - Maximum Coverage Concealer Brush
Chubz 5/19/2009 2:55:00 AM
i really love this brush alot. the bristles are so soft and smooth. it's comparable to MAC187 since you don't have to apply so much pressure b/c the bristles will do most of the work! i use this to apply my undereye concealer. it feels comfy when you use it under your eyes and won't poke/hurt you. it's a greeeeeat brush.

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - Wear Infinite Eye Shadow Single
Chubz 5/18/2009 2:38:00 PM
these are pretty decent. i don't know why people are giving them bad reviews. some i like more than the others. they come in perle (shimmery) and rich (matte) shades. i recommend buying Gilded Bronze. It's really smooth and reaaaally pigmented with a very velvety golden texture. a few light swatches of this is similar to WoodWinked by M.A.C., which you can get at the fraction of the cost with this l'oreal shadow. i also love the matte black one called Lush Raven. i use it with an anglebrush for liner sometimes. some of their matte/non shimmery/light colors aren't that pigmented and can be compared to CoverGirl EyeEnhancers known for their low/sheer pigmentation. depending on which colors you buy, you'll be happy with your purchase!!!

Mascara -Revlon - DoubleTwist
Chubz 5/16/2009 11:01:00 PM
DO NOT LET THE NICE PACKAGING, OR UNIQUE BRUSH OR FANCY COMMERCIAL FOOL YOU! really... i don't think i'm ever going to purchase a Revlon Mascara ever again. (Fabulash is okay... it's not horrific) This mascara is extremely clumpy and is WORSE than Maybelline Great Lash. I bought it for $7 at CVS. it gets all clumpy when you pull the brush out of the tube and globs of it all at the tip and stuff. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aspirin Mask
Chubz 5/16/2009 6:35:00 PM
thanks to RiceBunny/MichellePhan, i use an aspirin mask mixed with honey once a week as a part of my skin care regimen. it works! you leave it on for 10-15 minutes ONLY and wash it right away afterwards. it's REALLY NOT HEALTHY to use this mask daily. maybe once or twice a week. too much exfoliation isn't good for your skin. your skin will feel soft and supple, especially putting moisturizer on damp skin afterwards.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast
Chubz 5/16/2009 6:06:00 PM
some people are unsatisfied with the packaging since it's too bulky or whatever, but i like it. very modern. the brush might be a little too big for people who have small eyes, but i love the brush and formula. it lengthens and volumizes my lashes just as good as my expensive Too Faced and Clinique mascaras. it DOESN'T clump. yay! they were on sale at my drugstore for $5 last week and i bought two of them. what a great deal =) why should i spend so much on expensive brands when i can get this fabulous mascara at the drugstore for a fraction of the cost?! =)

Toners -C.O. Bigelow - Cucumber Skin Tonic
Chubz 5/16/2009 5:59:00 PM
i went to a Bath and Body Works outlet where the products turned out to be discounted like crazy. i stumbled upon the tiny little travel sized bottles of these... 3 c.o. bigelow products for $5. yay! i used this after washing my face. the formula has the consistency of gel. it smells like fresh cucumber. works great on my skin, especially in the windy and cold winter time.

Blush -Cover Girl - Cheekers Blush
Chubz 5/16/2009 2:23:00 AM
i have 2 of these in brick rose and natural rose. it's useless for Covergirl to keep putting those tiny little brushes that don't work for blush in the packaging, but i like the blush since it's sheer and light. blush is supposed to look like a natural flush anyway, unless you like intensity and vibrant pigments on your cheeks and stuff like that. this is a good product. one of mine has a nice scent to it. i use it with my MAC187 or my retractable blusher brush from The Body Shop. the one i have in brick rose doesn't have any glitter in it, which i like. it's something that anyone can just toss in their purse without worrying about damages.

Blush -Rimmel - Blush in Pink Rose
Chubz 5/16/2009 2:08:00 AM
umm... so, i like to use only a little bit of this for a light pink flush. not too much though... since it's sooo shimmery and makes your cheeks look like you've rubbed a shimmery cream shadow all over your cheeks. i would not purchase this again. i only use it sparingly when i mix it with my bare minerals blush.

Makeup Brushes -The Body Shop - Retractable Blusher Brush
Chubz 5/15/2009 9:53:00 PM
this is a cute brush and the packaging is nice and handy. it doesn't beat my MAC187 but i still love this blusher brush. the bristles are so smooth. does not hurt your face. i've washed it many times and never found any bristles that might have fallen out. since it's retractable, you can use it to apply mineral under eye concealer, or use it with contouring makeup since you can always make the brush tip bigger or smaller. it's about 19 or 20 dollars. had mine for about 3 years. i love it!

Eye Shadow -Coastal Scents - 28 Neutral Palette
Chubz 5/15/2009 4:16:00 AM
i was excited about this product because i got the palette+shipping for less than $19 on eBay. it's way cheaper than getting it on coastalscents.com. but for the price i got it for, it's kinda like paying $0.65 for each eye shadow, which is not that bad for a decent palette. i don't think they're too chalky. it shouldn't even be a problem if you TAP THE EXCESS off of your brush when using it. haha. the darker colors are very pigmented. some of the lighter ones are pretty good, some redundant and "bleh". but it's a neutral palette... what can you expect? some are as good as NYX. it's cheap and it works great. alot better than spending $3 or something on a neutral covergirl or l'oreal quad when you can make an investment on this one. i use a few of them as light blush too! great deal.

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Wear Infinite Waterproof Self Sharpening eyeliner in black
Chubz 5/15/2009 3:50:00 AM
i most definitely prefer Revlon Colorstay Liner in waterproof over this L'Oreal one. it's doesn't seem like it's waterproof when it says so on the package. i guess it's good to use on the upper eyelid for light smudging, but i don't like it on my waterline... b/c it smudges and doesn't come on smoothly like my Revlon one does. wouldn't splurge over $5 on this one again.
