Treatments (Eye) -Olay - Regenerist Eye Derma-Pod
Calina_Oscura76 5/2/2007 4:06:00 PM
okay, this is an early review ofthis product, SO I am still up in the air. I have chronic puffiness, due to lack of good sleep (AKA 2 kids) and year round allergies. (concrete and pavement look soo much more inviting in the spring) I got this really cheap, by using my optimum points from Shoppers drugmart. So it was like 5 bucks, Can't complain there. and I totally ditched the sponge thing. too awkward. I tear it off, and use my fingers, I get at leat 3-4 uses out of it. I do notice so far the skin is a bit softer around my eyes, and it does not irritate them at all. a nice bonus. I did notice a slight decrease in puffiness the morning after using it but nothing major yet. ( still have quite a few pods left though) I love the texture of this cream, and it leaves the under eye area feeling nice and silky. anyone ever try this under makeup? just wondering how they co-mingle.. anywho, i will update as I see more ...

Lotions/ Creams -Vaseline - Intensive Care Healthy Hand and Nail Lotion
Calina_Oscura76 3/8/2007 11:33:00 AM
I absolutely love this hand lotion! Being a mom of 2 young children, one being immune compromised, means ALOT of hand washing on my part. the result: cracks, cuts, and very dry itchy skin. weak nails to boot. So i stumbled upon this at Shoppers drugmart, and figured it was worth a shot. My hands started feeling smoother, and the dry patches started goign away, and as an extra bonus, my nails started to get stronger.. (no really, they actually did) it does sting a bit if your hands are in really bad shape, but if you can bear with it for a bit, you shall be rewarded. great stuff. very cheap. (a pump cost me under 6 dollars at the grocery store)

Hair Color -Garnier - Nutrisse Permanent Creme Hair Color
Calina_Oscura76 2/11/2007 3:22:00 PM
I have finally found my perfect brown! I have been trying (in vain)for quite sometime to find a brown, that does not look black, or too much red, too much golden. etc.. as I am trying to mathc my roots in the hopes of easing out of dying my hair every 6 weeks or so.. well I think this one is it! great color, and not messy. ( my bathroom is a shrine to all the hair colors I have tried, from drips landing on the wall, floor etc.. you just cant get that out) My hair feels great, and I noticed when I was rinsing it out I was not losing half a head of hair. no burning, stinging, anything. the scent was a touch strong, but there are worse out there. for the record I used dark chocolate. (dark brown) All I can say is Woo- Hoo!! couple it with the k-pak shampoo and conditioner and the color should stay good for awhile!! (I notice very little fading when using these products)((update: march 22nd 2007)) as much as Loved the color, it faded quickly. I noticed after a few weeks that the color lightened, and not evenly at that. So my hunt continues.

Hair Color -L'Oreal - Feria Haircolor
Calina_Oscura76 11/24/2006 7:32:00 AM
I have been dying my hair for... um years. Anywho, my hair is quite dark, btu I had visible (in my opinion) roots (apparently, my natural hair color has lightened quite abit since having a few kiddies) ..So I wanted a hair color that was dark enough to blend in the roots, but add a bit of extra oomph to the rest of my hair (which is a short textured crop thing goin') I used Feria in french roast which according to the cahrt on their website seems to be the 2nd darkest shade in the browns. I figured I was safe. I was not. my roots are now a VERY visible orange/red color and the rest of my hair sadly remained pretty much unchanged.. imagine what my hair would look like in the Sun!! awful. so after trying to somewhat strip the excess color with denorex (I had orange suds for about 5 minutes) I am going to have to correct the color. ticked off much?? absosmurfly, I have used Feria with some success in the past but definately not this time. Guess I will be staying borderline dark brown/ black for awhile. Did like the new conditioner though.. doesnt smell like green tea like it used to.. (the smell used to give me migraines) but will not repurchase again.

Cleansers -Clean & Clear - Oil Free Foaming Facial Cleanser
Calina_Oscura76 10/15/2006 5:22:00 PM
I tried this purely for the fact that i could not find anything else reasonably priced at the time. I usually use pure zone from L'oreal.. but it is getting harder to find in the ottawa area.. (did they discontinue??) anywho.. it seems to cleanse the skin okay, doesnt really foam but have to agree with the "dish soap" consistency and feel. But (and this is huge for me) it smells AWFUL! i am absolutely repulsed by the smell, and i smell it on my hands for hours after.. did i get a tainted product or something? it is foul. Scents usually dont have such a profound effect on me, but this one does. maybe they should go unscented. Otherwise, it seemed to do the job. too bad. works but stinks. will not repurchase.

Conditioner -John Frieda - Brilliant Brunette Light Reflecting Conditioner
Calina_Oscura76 5/22/2006 12:58:00 AM
I am a color freak.. previously coloring my hair dark red before high tailing it back to Dark brown, close to my natural color. I had used the john frieda for reds ( 2.99 for a clearance christmas gift pack..) and actually loved it! So naturally, when i went back to my roots ( so to speak) i used the brilliant brunette. 3/4's of the way into the product and my hair could not have been drier. my hair Did retain the color a little longer, but now i have ALOT of mane to tame. I will not repurchase.

Moisturizers -Neostrata - Smoothing Cream (all concentration levels)
Calina_Oscura76 3/17/2005 12:52:00 AM
I decided to try this product for a few reasons, I spend alot of time in the hospital thus I have very dry skin. plus i am prone to breakouts and hey, canadian winters are just plain harsh. I use both the daytime and normal glycolic smoothing cream, and I will never use anything else again. preious acne scars are (though slowly,) fading. what can i say, it doesnt always happen in a day, but my skin is sure happier for it. I am not totally fond of the tub though, the companmy should include some type of wand to use to get the cream instead of your fingers.. (maybe i will find something myself) smoother skin is mine to be had!!

Styling Products -John Frieda - Brilliant Brunette Shine Shock Leave-on Perfecting Glosser
Calina_Oscura76 3/17/2005 12:47:00 AM
I LOVE this stuff. I am such a hair product addict and usually NEVER buy the same thing twice, mainly from sheer dissapointment. the shampoo and conditioner were not my favorite, but this stuff is amazing. It leaves my hair shiny, soft and the highlights really pop. and you dont need much at all. I never use it on dry hair though.. i use another BB product. this stuff rocks!

Fragrances -Davidoff - Cool Water for Women
Calina_Oscura76 10/22/2004 1:36:00 AM
I search high and low for a perfume. I have a few but wanted something new. Now normally I would never spend that kind of money on a bottle of perfume but I was having a very stressful day and decided to splurge on mysele. this is the first bottle i picked up to smell and immediately fell in love with it. its fresh, cool smelling and fades nicely, in other words, i am not going to smell like i poured the bottle on myself. i find it suitable for any occasion. Absolutely love this stuff. allready repurchased!!( hey it was on sale)

Treatments -Avon - ANEW Clinical 2-Step Facial Peel
Calina_Oscura76 10/22/2004 1:29:00 AM
I have been using this peel every second night for the past two months.A bit of history here..adult acne scarring plus some weird skin disorder brought on by stress.. scarring from that too.I am turning 28 very soon. this product has made a significant difference in the tone, and texture of my skin. scarring is slowly fading and acne is ((FINALLY)) under some control. I actually would answer the door without makeup.. maybe too self consious but what can i say? we live in a vain society.and today, i was asked if i was old enough to buy a scratch ticket (im in canada, so the age is 18) hey, it must be doing something! I will continue this product for the time being, as i absolutely love it.

I am soo addicted to this. price, quality ..everything! never feels sticky, in fact my lips feel soo smooth with this stuff on. flavor is yummy as well and makes a killer addition to lipstick for extra shine. my only problem is the package. the cap always comes off and i fear a disaster waiting to happen inside of my purse. will definately repurchase.

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Color Juice - Strawberry Smoothie
Calina_Oscura76 8/5/2004 2:26:00 AM
I usually stick to Loreal for most things, but this stuff. not a chance. I apply it, then watch as it quickly turns into a lip gloss glue from hell. very very sticky. the color and scent is okay. hoping for a bit of flavor though. will never repurchase.

Lip Gloss -Almay - WhippedGloss Pinched Pink
Calina_Oscura76 8/5/2004 2:23:00 AM
I actually received this lip gloss as a sample (a nice size sample at that) with the nearly naked foundation. I have to say that by far this is the BEST lipgloss i have ever used. It never gets gloppy, and most importantly, it does not dry out my lips, unlike most other lip color of any shape or form. And it is not sticky!!!! i love it.

Toners -Neutrogena - Clear Pore Oil-Controlling Astringent
Calina_Oscura76 8/2/2004 1:05:00 AM
I will NEVER use this product again. I considered since it was Neutrogena I would most likely not have a problem with it. well, I have used it 6 times.it would burn my skin for at least 2-4 minutes and now my entire face is flaking, as well as three of my fingers from the cotton pad I was using to apply the astringent. Incredibly harsh. incredibly painful. So totally disappointed and at 8 bucks a bottle, its not exactly cheap. i will stick to my normal brand, 4 dollars more, but worth its weight in gold.
