Blush -NARS - Super Orgasm
rated 4 of 5
ziebam 11/13/2008 5:42:00 PM

Oddly Enough, I rather liked this product. I love the original orgasm but have to admit, i really have to layer it for enough color to show up on my NC30 light olive complexion. With Super Orgasm, i only need one swipe! Yes there are HUGE chunks of gold glitter but they really fly off quickly. Just tap the brush and the glitter falls off. even if you put it on, the glitter kinda just flys off. Only a few stray rather unnoticeable pieces remained. I just love the pigment in this! great peach shade for my olive complexion. I would repurchase this. Lasts all day too!

Makeup Brushes -Unlisted Brand - Gotta B' Urban

I got a black retractable kabuki brush that is the EXACT same brush as the legendary TooFaced Pink Kabuki retractable brush except for the color. The brush is as soft as the TF and just as nice in quality. Fabulous brush for $4.99 v the TF $38 dollar brush. This brand has got some nice brushes if you find them at Marshalls or TJ maxx.

Palettes -LORAC - Croc Case
rated 3 of 5
ziebam 10/28/2008 6:53:00 PM

I actually found the quality of LORAC lacking in this set. This kit comes with 16 shadows, 3 blushes and a highlighter and 3 lipglosses all in a black faux croc square case with mirror, that comes inside a larger square faux croc zipper case.
The blushes were my favorite part, alas, they only lasted about 5 hours. There was a shimmery cream highlighter, a orgasm like peachy pink, a darker peachy pink, and a darker peachy brown. All very pretty and warm. I loved the colors. Too bad they didnt stay on all day.
The glosses were all super sheer without much color. A shimmery soft peach, that looked silvery. A shimmery nude pink that was the most pigmented of the group but didnt really show up on my brown lips. And a shimmery peachy brown that also just looked like clear gloss with a hint of shimmer.
The shadows were the most disappointing part. The shadows are not the usual high pigment quality from LORAC. Dont get me wrong, they are better quality than alot of palette shadows out there, but just not super pigmented like usual LORAC palettes.
The top two rows are the warm shades consisting mostly of browns with an aqua thrown in. THe light highlighter shades have almost no pigment. The medium browns were pretty and the aqua was stunning. The bottom two rows were the cooler shades of purples and greys with a cranberry thrown in. The light highlighter type shades also lacked pigment while the medium shades were decent. Overall, none of the colors were particularly unique or must have.
Overall, i am quite disappointed in the quality this year. I think i have every palette from LORAC the last several years and this one is going back. Retails for $56 and limited edition for holiday 2008.

Eyeliner -MAC - Molasses Pearlglide
rated 3 of 5
ziebam 10/15/2008 10:55:00 AM

Limited edition release from the Suite Array Collection released September 2008. Comes in standard MAC pencil form and retails for $14.50.
These liners are touted as "A creamy kohl-like eye liner with a sparkly, reflective finish. Highly pigmented: stands out for its rich, luxurious colours and pearl-metal look. Provides eye-catching, highly stylized contrast for any look. Smooth. Glides on. Feels comfortable. Long-wearing. Available in eight trend colours. 1.45g / .05 US OZ."
Molasses is the least shimmery/glittery of the group. Molasses is a dark rich brown with just the hint of shimmer. On my lids, it just looks like a dark brown/soft black. Nothing particularly unique here. Lasts all day with minimal smudging, but there is a little. This is not recommended for the waterline. I also notice that the glitter in these can make my eyes itchy if i wear them day after day so i usually skip a day in between. limited edition.

Eye Shadow -Smashbox - Rapture Eyeshadow & Brush Collection
rated 2 of 5
ziebam 10/10/2008 5:37:00 PM

I thought i was disappointed with the Smashbox Encore palette from Ulta. This is even worse. The quality of the shadows are horrible! This is a limited edition collection from Holiday 2008. IT retails for $59. It comes with 8 shadow duos and two shadow brushes. Each shadow pot is a small eyeshadow size and comes in a limited edition soft pink color pot with screw top. The brushes are #32 flat shadow brush and #15 crease brush with pink handles.

Grace duo is a soft pale pink and soft taupe. Barely any pigment in this duo Splendid is a shimmery champagne pink and shimmery soft brown. pretty but barely any pigment Enchanting: matte cream and shimmery lilac. no pigment dreamscape: shimmery white and shimmery silver delightful: shimmery soft gold and shimmery soft green. this one is actually nice twilight, shimmery pale gold and matte navy. no pigment gala, shimmery cream and black.
Overall, almost all the colors lack pigment. I cant even really tell the difference in color on my eyes. Very disappointing. the brushes are nice but not worth the price tag. Skip this one ladies!

Eyeliner -MAC - Pearlglide Eye Liner in Wolf
rated 5 of 5

Gorgeous!
Wolf is a gorgeous shimmery taupe color. Simply stunning. Really does remind me of SHU ME945 in a pencil form. Lasted all day with very slight smudging. (I did notice FlyByBlue smudged more than Wolf). Color is stunning with my brown eyes. Love this and would repurchase. Limited edition!

Eye Shadow -NARS - Violetta Duo
rated 3 of 5
ziebam 9/29/2008 5:40:00 PM

The pigment is definately a little weak in this duo. A matte light lavender shade and a shimmery lilac, soft purple. Really pretty shades but both are very sheer so you really need to add alot. And then it still faded since its so light. Retails for $32.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Cordura Duo
rated 4 of 5
ziebam 9/29/2008 5:38:00 PM

The quality of the shadows are excellent but two dark shades in one duo is unneccessary. Why dont they put a lighter shade in there? Then i wouldnt have to get out another eyeshadow. But i digress, the colors in here are two browns. A warm medium brown with a bronzey/coppery hint to it and a dark dark brown black with shimmer. Its super dark. Both colors are great in the crease and outer v. Very smooth texture and richly pigmented. Duo retails for $32.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Blonde's Gold Pigment
rated 4 of 5
ziebam 9/13/2008 9:07:00 AM

New from the Overrich collection released September 2008. Retails for $19.50 and comes in the standard MAC pot although these weigh less than some other MAC pigments. My jar came about three quarters full. BLondes Gold is a shimmery beige gold shade. A little darker than I thought. I thought i would use this as a highlighter but there is a lot of pigment to this making it a better lid color. (Although a light light wash can be used to highlight). Very pretty. Goes great with my brown eyes and NC30 skin. When you use this wet, you see the gorgeous metallic gold shimmer to it. Its pretty but I wouldnt say its a must have.

Palettes -Unlisted Brand - Ready To Wear Buttoned Up Kit
rated 3 of 5
ziebam 9/12/2008 11:29:00 AM

I am a sucker for cosmetics on TV so when I saw this new line on HSN, I jumped. The creator is an ex MAC employee so i was fascinated. The Ready To Wear All Buttoned Up Collection Includes:
.77 oz. total weight All Buttoned Up Compact - 6 eyeshadows, totaling .42 oz. net weight, in Bronze (Shimmery chocolate), Apricot (Shimmery peach) Raisin (shimmery plum), Petal (Shimmery soft pink) Buff (matte ecru) and Fawn (Shimmery soft bronze). THe shadows were suprisingly nice. Decent quality, nice amount of pigment, blended smoothly. Overall, nice but the colors werent very unique but did create a lot of pretty looks.
.21 oz. Peach Blush and .14 oz. Shimmer Powder in Shell. The blush is a warmed rose and the shimmer is a pretty shimmery soft pink. The blush had no pigment, i could barely see this no matter how much I layered. Shimmer powder was nice but a little glittery.
.92 oz. Couture Finish Powder Compact - a special combination of pigments helps even out skin tone and leaves the appearance of a soft, natural finish. The self-correcting powder can be used alone or over foundation for a beautiful flawless finish. Its a swirly powder with several different shades. Please see my individual review for more details on this.
.25 oz. Lash Extension - cellulose fibers give you the appearance of the longest possible lashes without actually applying false eyelashes. Not a mascara, this formula of dry fibers should never be applied to lashes alone, and should be applied by "sandwiching" Lash Extension between coats of mascara. Please see my individual review for this product as well. Does make them thicker but very messy
.025 oz. Shades of Black-Plum Bronze Eye Pencil - a very pretty shimmery bronzed plum shade. Doesnt last all day though, few hours tops.
.12 oz. Lipstick - the rich shade of Brick that is very moiturizing but definately dark. Need the gloss to soften the color.
.22 oz. Lip Gloss - Pink Pearl, shimmery pale pale milky pink. Doesnt look good on its own. Better over the lipstick. No scent, very thick formula. Lasts quite a while with the lipstick.
4-piece brush set - includes a Soft Angle Blending Brush (goat hair), a Firm Eye Shadow Brush (pony hair), an Angled Brow/Liner Brush (pony hair) and a Powder Brush (goat hair). Complete waste of money.

The kit came packaged in a light gold/yellow compact. Nothing too spectacular. The button imprint will fade as you use the colors. Overall, this kit wasnt bad, I just didnt need it. Great deal though for the lash extensions and marble powder which retail for $22 and $25 alone. The price of the kit is 49.95. When it was a Today's Special it was $39.95. I would buy this again for more lash extension and powder.
Made in USA; Couture Finish Powder made in Italy; brushes made in China.

Lip Gloss -Smashbox - Wicked Lovely Gloss in Coy
rated 3 of 5
ziebam 9/10/2008 3:12:00 PM

I thought i was gonna love this but the peach doesnt show up on my lips as much as I thought. Over a lipstick though, i see more peachiness. Coy is a limited edition lip gloss from the Wicked Collection released August 2008. The tube is a fancier version with a black tassle on the top and some black design on the rounded tube. Designed to go with a heavy smoky eye, this is a light milky peach shade. Rather thick with a slight vanilla hint to it. On my naturally brown lips and nc30 light olive complexion, this really doesnt look very peachy. Kinda looks like a soft shimmery pale pale nude. I really wanted to see more peach. However, over a lipstick this tends to look peachier. pretty but i dont think it was a standout.

Blush -NARS - Dolce Vita
rated 5 of 5
ziebam 9/10/2008 3:07:00 PM

Soft browned rose color. no shimmer. Very pretty but use a light hand cause this is SUPER pigmented. Just the lightest touch leaves plenty of color for both cheeks even on my tan NC30 light olive complexion. Gives me a healthy looking flush to the skin. Lasts all day. Retails for $25.

Eye Shadow -Smashbox - Eye Shadow Quad - Picture Perfect
rated 1 of 5
ziebam 9/5/2008 5:46:00 PM

This quad was sadly lacking pigment. Beautiful too look at but very sheer going on. You need a stiff brush and alot of product to get enough color and then the color fades throughout the day even with a good base. The colors are pretty, a shimmer light pink/salmon; shimmery off white, shimmery taupe and shimmery dark chocolate. The taupe shade has the least pigment. Barely shows up at all. Overall, pretty to look out but lacking the usual smashbox quality. Skip this one.

Shampoo -Oscar Blandi - Pronto Dry Shampoo
rated 3 of 5
ziebam 9/3/2008 6:16:00 PM

i didnt really like this. I got the bottle and not the new spray version. The bottle version has a pointy end which you can squirt the product into the roots. The white powder looks dusty in my dark brown hair. Not as bad as using baby powder. but i really have to brush it alot to get it blended. i prefer the color blending Bumble and Bumble. did help with the greasies though. would be better for a blond.
