Sunscreen -Unlisted Brand - Mentholatum Sun PLay SPF 50 Clear Water Sunscreen Lotion

I just finished my first bottle of this that I started using since September. I don't really have any other facial sunscreens to compare this to but it's pretty good. It's watery and does not have that nasty scent that most sunscreens have and it applies smoothly. However it does feel a little greasy at first and you have to wait a little while for the product to absorb and the greasy feeling to go away. Does make the face a little whiter looking but not in a garish way like I've seen on some other people. Probably not the best product to use in extremely humid weather or for very oily skin types but for my normal skin I would purchase again, as it lasts a long time and it's pretty inexpensive (around 299NT for a bottle).

Good polish but a little too blue for my taste. Texture and packaging is good, may try different Milani polishes but probably won't repurchase this one.

Eyeliner -Prestige - Classic Khol Eyeliner in E30 White

Got this a few months ago at Rite Aid for less than 5 bucks. Really great for the price. Great for highlighting the inner tear duct or brow bone, or brightening the eyes by applying in the waterline, or even down the nose bridge. A shimmery white that's not too over the top, easily blended for subtle highlighting/brightening effects. I can use it for a long time before I have to sharpen it so this pencil will probably last me a really long time. Would purchase again.

Gels/Soaps -Burt's Bees - Baby Bee Buttermilk Soap
rated 4 of 5

Got this in the 2010 holiday grab bag. For a bar soap this is quite moisturizing (I usually stay away from bar soaps because they leave residue and are very drying). Does not melt too quickly, and I like that it comes in biodegradable packaging and that the ingredients are natural. May purchase again.

Makeup Brushes -Essence of Beauty - Travel Eye Kit
rated 4 of 5
ximachikenx 5/3/2011 3:37:00 PM

This is a good makeup kit for people who are just starting to get into using various types of makeup brushes but don't want to spend the money on brushes at Sephora or MAC. I like all of the brushes except for the eyeliner one (I use the angled brow brush for eyeliner), and the pointy one (similar to a pencil brush but kind of too fat). I use the thin concealer brush for spots or for shaping the lips, and the angled brush is great for highlighting the brow bone. I don't bother trying to wedge the brushes back into their places anymore because it distorts some of the bristles. Not the best quality brushes but it's worth the price.

Misc Beauty Tools -MAC - Brush Cleanser
rated 4 of 5
ximachikenx 5/3/2011 3:22:00 PM

I'm almost done with my first bottle that I purchased over a year ago. I haven't used any other brush cleanser so I have nothing to compare this to but this is pretty good. I agree with other reviewers that it should be a spray or pump instead of the cap that comes with it, but it's not something that bothers me a huge amount. This cleanser is especially great with my eye makeup brushes. However for some of my face brushes it takes awhile for them to get clean so I don't think this is great for deep cleaning. A little expensive in my opinion but would purchase again.

Polishes -New York Color - Long Wearing Nail Enamel - Starry Silver Glitter 105

My friend gave me a bottle of this so I could paint my nails as a way to destress during finals week. :) While it does look kind of like a polish a little girl would use, it can be used for glamorous looks as well when put over another polish. Works well for those gradient kinds of looks with lots of sparkles at the tip. One complaint is that this is a pain to remove. Don't know if I'd use this often enough to use up the whole bottle so probably won't repurchase, but it's nice.

Polishes -China Glaze - For Audrey

This is one of the prettiest colors ever! Who can resist the classic Tiffany blue? I borrowed this from a friend and did a very cute look with this color and had white bows on top using a dotting tool. The one thing I didn't like about this polish though was the consistency. Maybe the bottle I had is just old but it was very goopy and hard to apply. Other than that I would definitely purchase if I can get my hands on it. :)

Polishes -China Glaze - Australian Alabastar

I originally thought this would be a cute pastel pink, but on the nail it is extremely sheer, so I was pretty disappointed at first. However, it's a very pretty sheer kind of shell pink and it looks great if you want something very natural. I think it would be a very good color for a french mani as well. It was cheap at my local nail supply store for 2.00 so while it is very sheer I think it's a good deal.

Lipstick -NYX - Round Lipstick - Peony
rated 4 of 5
ximachikenx 3/25/2011 8:21:00 PM

This is a very pretty pinkish brown color in the tube but it does not have much color once applied to the lips. It's probably because this is very close to my natural lip color. Almost MLBB if it were a tad lighter and more pigmented. Very subtle, can be used for an everyday look. However, probably will not purchase again though the price is very good.

Lipstick -NYX - Round Lipstick - Tea

Got this today at Ulta for about $4? Really cheap even among drugstore brands IMO, but very high quality. It is a creamy warm brown and it is very wearable and flattering for my skin (NC30). Only bad thing is that these don't come sealed so you don't know if it's used or not.. >_>. However, it is not drying and it is quite pigmented! This is one of my first NYX lippies and I will definitely purchase more. :)

Scrubs -St. Ives - Apricot Scrub Blemish and Blackhead Control
rated 3 of 5
ximachikenx 3/24/2011 5:38:00 PM

I used to use this cleanser a lot but not so much anymore since I've found better, less abrasive exfoliators such as peeling gels. This is a pretty good product for those who don't have sensitive skin. It leaves the skin feeling smooth and I like that it also has salicylic acid in it. However it is a little bit rough. Good for people who are just beginning to exfoliate their skin (i.e. middle school, high schoolers).

Lipstick -MAC - Media lipstick
rated 5 of 5
ximachikenx 3/22/2011 12:42:00 AM

Just purchased this at MAC today because I wanted to find a cheaper alternative to NARS Volga, and this was the closest one I found. I really love this color, I feel like a plum lip is more unique and suits me better than red. I don't have much experience with MAC lipsticks (I only own another Lustre lipstick) so I was very surprised at the color payoff for this one. It's not drying nor does it show flakes on my lips. I feel like it's a little tricky to apply neatly because the color is so intense, but I love that I can have a stained berry look or a full on plummy wine-red lip. Definitely would purchase again, and looking to expand my MAC l/s collection :)

Lip Gloss -Lancome - Juicy Tubes in Miracle
rated 4 of 5

I received this as a birthday gift a long time ago from someone and it is one of my favorite glosses. It smells really great and leaves the lips with a very subtle glossy pink sheen. It is very good quality, although a tad on the sticky side. Pretty expensive but would purchase again.

Makeup Brushes -Sonia Kashuk - Large Angled Contour Brush

I really like this blush brush, it's very soft and fluffy. I originally purchased this to apply bronzer but I find this picks up blush very nicely as well so I don't have to use separate brushes. It's quite inexpensive as well and doesn't shed a lot. Would purchase this again if I had to :)
