Cleansers -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Facial Cleanser

I like this cleanser, it washes my face - that's all I'm asking of it and it does that. I have combination /acne prone skin and I don't find it too drying - it's hardly moisturising, but my skin doesn't feel too tight or stripped after using it, however if you're not using a moisturiser then I guess I can see this drying your skin out. I don't use this to remove my makup - I use EVOO to do that and then wash that off with this cleanser. I'm on my second bottle of this and I think I might try a Simple cleanser after this one runs out just to try something else, but I'd be willing to go back to this. Oh and although smell normally isn't a factor in buying something like this, it smells divine!

Hair Color -L'Oreal - Casting Creme Gloss

Not bad, not bad at all. It's easy to mix and apply and it comes with a rather good conditioner in a little bottle to use when washing your hair in the future. I've used this twice now in the colour Terracota - the first time it came out pretty much like on the swatch, the second time it came out a tad darker, but that was because I was redying the roots and my timing went a little off - however within 2 washes it was back to the colour on the swatch so it lightened up in no time :) This left my hair in good condition - I haven't noticed a difference in my hair from before dying and after. It also claims to last up to 28 washes but for me it didn't last nearly that long - bear in mind I dyed my hair red which notoriously fades quickly so this could be different for other colours. I waited about 4 and a half weeks (I wash my hair 3 times a week) and then went over it with a red Fudge semi permenant colour (Casting creme is DEMI not semi). This extended the life of my red hair and it was 8 weeks from me origonally using Casting creme to redying it again with Casting. Note: in the 8 weeks the dye hadn't washed out it was just significantly lighter with some highlights of my natural dark blonde coming through slightly.

This really did nothing for my skin and I had quite high hopes after hearing such good reviews. The redness in my skin worsened and I even saw a few new spots breaking out and I'm not a person who would class myself as having sensitive skin at all. Everyones skin reacts differently I suppose, just my skin being difficult as per usual lol.

Polishes -Barry M - Barry M.

Ooh it's love! These are cheap, have great on trend colours, don't dry tacky (unlike some cheaper brands) they dry hard as rocks, they last without chipping for at least a week - what is not to love?? I will not waste my money on expensive brand nail polishes when I can look at the Barry M collection and find something pretty similar for a fraction of the price! Seriously I was wearing this dark purple nail varnish and this girl I was talking to in line for class asked me if it was Chanel, (I had no idea Chanel had one similar I just picked it because it was a pretty colour lol) I was like "no, it's just this cheap one" - why didn't I lie eh? My silly brain!

This is by far the best drugstore foundation I have ever tried!! I am using the Combination/Oily skin one. Just to clarify I like heavy coverage as I have acne scars and some spots around my cheeks and jawline. I have to apply concealer to my spots but this foundation evens out my skin tone and gives me a lovely coverage. Personally I find this gives a dewey rather than matte look but as this is a heavy coverage foundation not a sheer one this isn't a problem for me like it normally would be and if I apply powder it settles the deweyness down. As for how long lasting this is, well it does a pretty good job, it's still hanging in there at the end of the day, and if I touch it up then I can go out at night and it will still hang in there. A word of warning for people with combination skin - do not apply this foundation to dry areas - it looks awful! Moisturise those areas really well before applying it there. (I found out the hard way). Another thing I would say is this sets pretty quickly so just apply it to one area and then when you've finished there add some more - don't dab it all over unless you work pretty quickly. Overall this foundation is just brilliant for a drugstore product. I wish instead of screwing off the lid it had a pump or something because the bottle tends to get messy but I'll try and let that issue go :)

Shampoo -Burt's Bees - Very Volumizing Pomegranate & Soy Shampoo
rated 4 of 5
wonderblue 1/11/2011 9:21:00 PM

First of all I bought this because it is cone free and as someone with greasy hair I am paranoid about build up! And.... I really like it! Honestly this for me is a great shampoo - yes it can be drying if used on it's own (I know this from when I've been in a rush and skipped conditioning) but 9/10 times I will use conditioner and when you do the drying problem goes away for me. Does it volumise? Well it certainly sees to - it definately doesn't weigh my hair down like other shampoos have in the past. Now if you've got dry, damaged, curly hair I can see why you might not like this product, but for me with fine, flat grease prone hair this shampoo suits me to the ground. As I've recently dyed my hair, once I've used this bottle up I am going to try the colour protect burt's bees shampoo - but if I find it doesn't help prolong my colour then I will happily switch back to this one. Price wise this is pretty expensive for a shampoo but sadly most cone free shampoos are - that's the only real downside to this product for me.

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - EXTRA VIRGIN Coconut Oil (All brands)

So my review on this is purely as a hair treatment. I had read so many great reviews about how fantastic it was for hair and honestly this was such a let down. I have used it every way I could think of and I genuinely do not see what the fuss is about. It didn't damage my hair - I'm not saying this is a terrible product I'm just saying it didn't live up to the hype it was getting. I guess it moisturised a little but I've had better results from other products. BUT let me tell you what this product is great for in regards to hair. If you feel your hair is frizzing or just not very soft after washing it, then take a small amount of CO, (and when I say small I mean small because otherwise you will end up with greasy hair) rub it between your fingers and spread through your hair. TADA totally soft lovely bouncy hair :) I'll be using the rest of this product up as a body moisturiser and I may try it as a makeup remover and then I'll write a review of it for those purposes. I know I sound really negative about this product but I'm not - I think it will do great things for my skin but as a hair treament it just fell flat for me. Please don't hate me for giving it a 2 - that is only for it's use as a hair treatment and I will update this review once I've used it for other things. Oh and btw this smells divine! One of the best smelling oils out there :)

Skincare - Face -Jason Natural Cosmetics - Vitamin E Pure Beauty Oil

I use this on my skin to moisturise at night time and when I wake up my skin feels so smooth and soft :) I first tried this on my face because my normal moisturiser was just not helping a great deal in winter, but was highly sceptical because I have combination/acne prone skin and oil as a moisturiser to me just sounded like a huge no no. However suprise suprise this doesn't break me out! The first few days I got a few pimples on my forehead but they cleared up and now I'm using this every night. Beware though - if you use too much this goes from amazing to a greasy mess - just be careful how much you use - less is more with this product. Oh and the packaging I find is terrible - I have the 5,000 iu and I don't bother with the clicky cap thing anymore I just screw the lid off because when I use the flick cap oil just runs down the sides of the bottle. I'm not one to normally care about packaging but this annoyed me - hey maybe I got the dodgy bottle? :P

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Extra Virgin Olive Oil

I've not used this as a moisturiser or an actual facial cleanser but what I have used this for is a makeup remover. Just for some context here is how I use it: I pour a little into my hands and rub it all over my face to loosen up the makeup, I then take a cotton wool pad and soak it in the oil and wipe all the makeup off. After than I splash warm water on my face and proceed with my normal facial cleanser, was that off with water and tada! All done :) Now the actual review haha... This is simply brilliant - just brilliant. It removes all makeup so 10/10 for that aspect but most importantly for me unlike other makeup removers especially eye makeup removers this doesn't strip my skin and leave it feeling all tight and dryed out before I've even used my face wash. This is also the best thing on the planet to remove eye makeup with - first off if you get generic eye makeup remover in your eye it will hurt like hell right? Well if you get EVOO in your eye there is no stinging - granted it isn't the best feeling as you have oil floating around clouding you vision up - but it doesn't sting - another plus! Price is obviously pretty expensive (well it is for me but I've got a super tight budget) but this stuff lasts and lasts and lasts and... well you get the idea, and hey separate it into bottles and use some of it for food. A final note to those acne prone and oily skin people out there (& I say this as one of you) - this will not make you break out - it's gental and if you're washing it off with your normal facial wash then this is not going to have an negative impact on your skin. Hey your not using harsh chemicals on your skin to remove makeup how can it have a negative impact? :)
