Treatments -Alpha Hydrox - AHA Souffle 12 percent Glycolic AHA

LOVE this cream! Used to hate it a few years ago when my skin was really oily but now that I'm more normal/dry my skin drinks this up. Makes my pores and fine lines look so much better. Improves my overall skin tone and controls areas of my face that tend to get red. Feels nice and silky going on, tingles a bit to let me know it's working, sinks in fast. I use this twice a day and bring it all the way down to my collarbone. My neck is looking great too!!! This is cheap enough where I don't mind going through it quickly ($15.99 at Ulta)
Liquid -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Makeup SPF 17

I really like this foundation. Every time I stray from it, I go *crawling* back! It has great medium coverage that blends fairly easily. I use a damp disposable wedge sponge and this makes it last slightly longer for me. I've used N1 and N2 and I wish there was a N1.5 :) That is not L'Oreal's fault though as all of the shades they offer look pretty decent. I experienced no breakouts or irritation from this at all. It's especially a steal when you can get BOGO at your local store. This is great for combo/slightly oily skin. UPDATE: I recently switched to W2 and I'm liking this much better. For reference, I'm a MAC C2. UPDATE: this has been accentuating my lines a bit so I've switched to the L'Oreal foundation for mature skins...Age Perfect cream...so far so good!
OMG this stuff is fabulous! Lemme start by saying that I've been disappointed by AHA's in the past. Too much irritation and no solid results. I've been using BHA's for years but this gel has blown everything out of the water!!! This cleared up all my whiteheads, blackheads, redness and general irritation in one week of using it nightly! I am honestly amazed by this product. It sinks in beautifully, causes no weird rash-y patches, has no scent and is relatively cheap. This gel is honestly the best skin care product I've tried in years. I also use this on my chest where I've had some lovely whiteheads and blackheads. Again...one week of nightly use...all clear! Just in time for pool season!!! I absolutely recommend this without reservation. Try it, you'll like it! And if you don't...I'll always swap with you!!! ***UPDATE*** one more week later and still loving this. i'm purging a little bit, some new whiteheads here and there but im still seeing amazing results in terms of even tone and smoothness. this is even clearing up the milia under my eyes thats been there for years!!!
Moisturizers -Paula's Choice - Hydrating Treatment Cream

I really liked this as an eye cream. It did however, give me milia. I am now using Olay Regenerist eye cream and it's okay.
I use this as a primer to absorb oils under my foundation (Palladio wet/dry). It works very well for this purpose. It doesn't have coverage at all, just covers the shine you get from sunscreens. No breakouts, no irritation. Makes my powder foundation smooth right on. I will continue to purchase. ***UPDATE*** well i've been using this for a couple weeks and i've discovered that it's making me super oily. I'm gonna try MAC Blot next.
I have this on right now! No other product has made such an immediate and impressive improvement on my crater pores. I do this mask a few times a week, at night, and it's working well to clean out my pores. I only wish the tightening effect lasted a little big longer. I'd say it temporarily shrinks my pores about 50%. It also cleared up a nasty popped zit I had on the side of my nose. Red mark and all, it's gone after two uses of this stuff! Love this!!! ***Update*** this is waaaay easier to rinse off when I don't use as much! haha! I was slathering on way too much and then having a hard time getting it off. Make sure to definitely scrub it on in circles...makes a big difference :)
I don't know how this works but it does :) I started using PC stuff three days ago at twice a day so I've used this 6x so far. My skin was a mess when I started this system so I didn't expect much. Between this product and her 1% BHA gel, my skin is greatly improved...in three days. I have no irritation from this product and it eliminates the tight feeling I get after washing. Since my skin is combo/oily, I suspect that this toner may be getting my skin back in balance. I'm loving it so far but I'll update in about a week :)
Treatments -Paula's Choice - Skin Perfecting 1% BHA Gel Exfoliant

I'm on my third night of using this 1% BHA Gel twice a day. I had a face full of stress and hormone related zits when I tried this so I didn't expect much. Literally, there wasn't one place on my face that was clear. Six uses later of this magical lotion and I only have two zits left and they are almost totally healed. I also had a bumpy hive like rash that is now gone. This gel is really really good so far!!! PROS: no irritation, no dryness, no flaking, cleared up both zits and hives in six uses. CONS: none yet! This goes on like a thin serum and you only need a tiny bit. I like to let it sink in totally before my next step of sunscreen and that usually takes about 10-15 minutes. I haven't found that it balls up or stays sticky...maybe those reviewers are using too much? It's easy to do because it doesn't look like it would spread as well as it does. I'll update in another week or so :) ***UPDATE*** I've been using this for over two weeks now and I went through a period of about 4 days where my face was suuuuuper oily. It was clear, but oily. Very strange for me :) I've been using my Avon Pore Fection mask more often and now the oiliness is under control. Maybe it's something my skin had to get used to, or maybe it was the mask but now that period is over and I'm still loving this BHA. I did stop using it for two days and my face started to act up again...I went running back!!!
I would recommend this wholeheartedly, if they had a better color range. I use the lightest, Laurel Nude, and it's still to dark for me (MAC C2). Formula is really smooth and natural looking. I use a brush and layer it as needed for more coverage. It lasts about 4 hours for me before I need a touch-up. It hasn't caused any breakouts or reactions. It smooths over my crater pores, until I need to touch up. It also seems to darken on me as the day goes by, but I think that's due to the color being slightly off for me. *** UPDATE*** I've started to use Palladio rice powder as a primer before using this foundation and it's made a huge difference. The color stays the same throughout the day for me and my oilies are reduced significantly. I still wish this came one shade lighter though :(
This did not work for me at all. I've used non-foaming cleansers before but this one felt really weird. Kinda slimy I guess. I had to use a ton to get all of my makeup off (typical pwd makeup) and was glad that i got the Walmart brand for $4.00 less. It left an occlusive film all over my face and broke me out in little flesh colored bumps two days later. I've learned that with my skin, this is an allergic reaction similar to hives. I have yet to figure out what ingredient did it. I can see this working for dry, non-reactive skin but for my oily and sensitive skin, this was awful.
Crème -Almay - Line Smoothing Compact Makeup [DISCONTINUED]
treyscrap 11/3/2006 11:05:00 AM
first off, the packaging sucks. the bottom part of the compact that holds the sponge, never stayed shut for me. it didn't appear broken, just ill-fitting. this foundation didn't smooth well, make my oily skin dry and flaky, and had splotchy coverage. i have no idea what lines this product claims it can smooth...i look like i have more lines after using this!
Loose Powders -New York Color - loose translucent powder
treyscrap 11/3/2006 11:03:00 AM
sorry to disagree with most here but this left me looking flat and dead. i thought my highlighting powder would pep me up but then i looked dead (with a glow). mine is up for swap.
im using this for the first time today. this made my gigantic pores disappear right before my eyes. not just filled in holes, but smoothed over too. i used this under my foundation which still went on nicely. my husband even commented that my pores were "gone"! i didn't expect this product to be tinted and it's definitely stinky but i can deal with that. i'll update in a few weeks while i pray that this doesn't break me out. $45 is ridiculous for this but it will last a hella long time. the effect started to break up a bit at the 6 hour mark, which isn't too shabby. tomorrow i will try this with no moisturizer (which i put on top). EDIT****** After weeks of use, this started to break out every one of the pores on my nose. Maybe it was the stinky ingredient that did it? Even though I regularly do masks to make sure my pores are clean, this stuff eventually made my pores look like they were filled with dark skin colored stuff. Ewwwww!!!
this burned and itched from the second i put it on. coverage was splotchy and uneven. not good for my uber-sensitive skin.
Color lasts for 10 seconds, feels gritty on, dries my lips out...yuck! Milani's glosses are much better and cheaper too (3 bucks each).
