Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Moisturizing Cream

As some of my other reviews have mentioned, this is a new area for me. I am usually really oily, at my driest I've been considered to have "normal" skin... until this year. Weird dry patches and rough skin have plagued me since mid october. I have switched darn near every product I had been using... several times. I was very hesitant to try this product. I have never really had to use a moisturizer. I usually shop for matifying products, so the word CREAM kinda freaked me out. I have to say though this has cleared up my giant chin sized dry patch in 24 hours. Not completely gone, but I can wear makeup over it again! I have yet to discover the long term effects (and will update if they are negative) but so far this has made a huge difference in my skin's feel and appearance almost immediately. It is not greasy, but a little goes a long way. I was able to find it in a tube which is why I didn't rate the packaging as poorly. In terms of value the tub is way better, but I need portability for office touch-ups (which I have had to do very infrequently due to the fact that this has staying power). So I am blown away by the results, no fancy anti-aging promises, just delivers a thirst quenching drink it down dose of moisture. What was that saying your mom always told you, K.I.S.S. (keep it simple sweety) This hits the mark!

Cleansers -Aveeno - Ultra-Calming Foaming Cleanser

I have only used this product a few nights but wanted to share. This winter I have been blessed (not so) with a nice dry patch right on my chin. It is opposite a nice crop of pimples, go figure. So I chose this to try en leu of Cetaphil gentle cleanser sine that was too lotiony. I love the consistency and I love anything in a pump. The only thing I have against it is that if I do not moisturize immediately my face tightens up quickly. I didn't think that I had migrated to full on DRY skin as we delved into Winter, I would still consider myself a combination type of gal. I'm no quite sure if I would really recommend this for someone who truly does have DRY skin, it may be a bit too much. One other contributing factor to this experience could be the hard water I have in my area. So I will say if you have softer water you may be fine. In conclusion I definitely LIKE this product, I even really like it alot. It pros outweigh the itty-bitty con. I will update if anything horrible happens or if my opinion changes. As it stands now I will repurchase.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser

OK so I bought this as a "winter-only" product. It has served its purpose although I am not completely sold on it. This is the first year have experienced extreme dryness during the winter, not sure if its hormones (usually to blame for my horrible breakouts along my chin and mouth) or the fact that I have heat pump HVAC unit for the first time ever and hard water, maybe I am just getting older.... ewwww. Anyway this seems to do the trick, however I don't feel like I'm really cleaning anything. I guess I can't get past the consistency of it. I have tried using a washcloth to add exfoliation to the product, but still something is missing. Love the pump though, it sits nicely in my shower. I have to use a makeup remover separately and honestly I just don't know if it's really getting down to my pores. I will use it in between attempts to find something that really hits a homerun for me. I will keep with the oily skin version in the summer, but this I can live without.

Skincare - Face -Garnier - Garnier Nutritioniste Skin Renew Serum [DISCONTINUED]

I would not use this product if it were the last skin care item on earth! I can honestly say my skin is far better alone than it is with this serum. I do not breakout from products EVER, until now! I tried this product and instantly noticed a tingling sensation, no big deal that means it's working right. Within week I had broken out all over my chin. Needless to say I was not glowing, my skin was duller than ever. Also I noticed when used in conjunction with my daytime SPF/Moisturizer I had developed a red patch under my eye on my cheekbone. EVEN BETTER! Then the final straw was watching my face turn to sandpaper. I have oily skin, how the heck does that happen? Well I certainly learned my lesson, there are somethings in life you just can't skimp on. Facial creams is one of them. I got out my good ol' standby Clinique's Total Turnaround cream and within 2 days my skin was dramatically better. Blemished reduced, sandpaper smoothed. I have been off the garnier line for 2 weeks now and I can honestly say I will never go back. I had a great experience with the ultra firming garnier line, but this experience turned me off to the whole brand.

Treatments -Clinique - Total Turnaround Visible Skin Renewer

OK so I keep trying to stray and then find myself coming back to this product! I absolutely HATE the packaging, I mean come on this is 2007, we don't dip our fingers in pots anymore! Thank goodness I got rid of my acrylics otherwise I would be tempted to stray again! The most recent even that brought me crawling back was a horrible bout with a drug store "skin renewal" product. I have very rarely broken out from a product, my hormones are usually the culprit, but Whoa! This stuff tore me up! Not only was my chin breaking out, but I was spotted with sandpaper like patches! So I was searching for a remedy in my cabinet and came across a sample I received from my most recent Clinique makeup purchase. Can I tell you that within two days I saw dramatic relief. My skin smoothed out and my blemishes healed quickly. So now I am back on the Turnaround Train. The problem now is that i can't stop touching my face. Even my hormonal breakouts are less severe since I've been using this product. So thank you Total Turnaround, I have hopefully learned my lesson for the last time, now can we just work on getting this in a pump version?

Eyeliner -BeneFit Cosmetics - BADgal

After seeing this product for years and always thinking, "ok next time I run out of black eyeliner I gotta pick this up," I finally happened to be walking by the benefit counter at the exact same time that I realized I needed more eyeliner and happened to have an extra 20 burning a hole in my pocket. I have mastered the smokey look since my freshman year at college so to me, this pencil didn't bring much to the table. I experienced the same grey shade that others have seen. Not really sure what thats all about since it starts out nice and black and then greys instantly upon blending. I guess for the price I paid I was expecting a bit more. Believe it or not, I've actually found products at CVS that rival this from a performance standpoint. It does the job, but certainly nothing special. Once this runs out, oh I'd say around the year 2015... I'll be back on the market again looking for another brand. I haven't tried to sharpen it yet though, hopefully I won't have to downgrade this review to a 2!
