Treatments -Live Clean - (Exotic Nectar) - Argan Oil Leave In Spray

Price: 2/5 ($6.99 on sale, can be more expensive regular price) Package Quality: 2/5 (the cap is loose) Buy Again?: Yes I would. I bought this on sale at SDM for $6.99 after much debate and holding off on it for a while. When I took it home and peeled off the safety sticker, I noticed the cover does not stay on properly. It shifts around and you can hear it rattle if you shake or move it. I don't think I'd trust traveling with it. It smells...well, strange, almost like sour milk... But it goes away after it dries and you're left with a bit of a sweet scent. I find it helps somewhat with keeping my hair detangled. As for preventing breakage and helping with flyaways, I can't really say but I certainly hope it's doing something. The ingredients are mostly organic and natural so I enjoy that part and it makes me feel like it is treating my hair good! I also really like that it does not contain any silicones whatsoever. Overall Rating: 4/5 (-1 lipstick for the crappy packaging) EDIT: I used this today on wet hair before I did a blow out and it made my hair feel AMAZINGLY soft. It was unreal! And it made my hair smell super good too. Love this stuff.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Hard As Hoof Nail Strengthening Cream
takemenow 8/25/2011 1:39:00 AM
What?! Only 9 reviews? This stuff is freaking amazing. If you have dry, painful cuticles and nails that are weak and don't grow nicely, this stuff will definitely help you. It smells heavenly and sometimes I just open up the jar to sniff it. Aside from that, it really works. It's creamy and absorbs into your cuticles and doesn't leave them feeling greasy like other cuticle creams. It runs around $8 for the tub, but it has a lot in it. This has replaced Sally Hansen's Apricot Cuticle cream for me. Holy grail. :)

Liquid -Revlon - PhotoReady Makeup - Vanilla

I've had this foundation for over a year now and have only used it two times until recently. I found it didn't really give me enough coverage and I wasn't a fan of the shimmer in it. I don't normally wear foundation but I've been having some break outs lately that concealer alone won't cover. Instead of using my tried and true foundation, I somehow decided to give this another try and I can't believe I've been neglecting this for so long! This foundation isn't for everyone, as the shimmer can accentuate dryness and those who are looking for a matte finish, look elsewhere. I'd also like to point out that some batches seem to have more glitter than others so beware!

Blush -E.L.F. - Studio Blush - Pink Passion

This is definitely my favorite blush at the moment. It provides such a bright and fun wash of color to the cheeks. I have absolutely no complaints about this product and I probably have nothing else to say that others haven't already. Go and get this blush!

Blush -E.L.F. - Studio Blush Tickled Pink
takemenow 8/19/2011 11:10:00 PM
This isn't the most pigmented of ELF's studio blushes. You should pick this up if you're looking for a very natural looking blush. Don't bother if you want something extremely pigmented because this is very natural and requires a few layers to show up. I use this on days when I'm wearing heavy eye makeup because it gives my face some color without overdoing it. I would repurchase this color.

Polishes -New York Color - In a New York Color Minute Quick Dry Nail Polish - Downtown 244
takemenow 8/19/2011 2:00:00 AM
This is an opaque pomegranate color with no shimmer. From my experience (and contrary to the previous reviews) it only requires two coats, though I usually do three. It dries very fast and doesn't chip easily either. I did not find the application streaky at all. You can find it for $.99 or $1.99 depending where you go. It's so damn cheap, you can't help but buy more colors. The bottle is smaller than the average NP bottle, but oh well. I don't mind the brush and the packaging is very nice imho. I've also read somewhere that NYC is manufactured by the same company as Sally Hansen. Hmm, interesting.

This is a great shimmery nude color. It only requires two coats, though I usually do three. It dries very fast and doesn't chip easily either. It's honestly such a beautiful color that I can't stop looking at my nails when I wear it. You can find it for $.99 or $1.99 depending where you go. Eyeliner -E.L.F. - Cream Eyeliner - Punk Purple
takemenow 8/15/2011 5:26:00 PM
I didn't find this color nearly as pigmented as Teal Tease. It's also much less metallic looking. When I apply this I have to do two layers just so my skin color doesn't show through. I'm kind of disappointed this color isn't as good as the teal one, but maybe I just got one from a bad batch. Oh well, I still love ELF.

Eyeliner -E.L.F. - Cream Eyeliner - Teal Tease

Oh my goodness. This is such a freaking gorgeous color. I've been looking for a teal cream liner for ages. I've bought one by Quo but it was not pigmented at all. I am super surprised how pigmented this color is. I wasn't expecting it to be metallic, but it looks fantastic! It's very easy to work with and doesn't budge once it applied. I definitely recommend this.

Tools -Nailene - Ultra Quick Pink Brush On Nail Glue
takemenow 7/21/2011 3:56:00 AM
I use this all the time but not the "pink" kind. Anyways, it helps to fix a nail that's breaking, splitting or peeling. But if a nail is actually broken, you will need to wrap it (YouTube "fix broken nail with tea bag"). It does a good job at what it's supposed to do and like the package says, it does last about ten days. I'm on my third bottle....not because I've used that much but because they have been gluing shut on me. The first one was my fault, I'll give them that. But the second one, well there wasn't much I could do about it. The top of the bottle that is supposed to stick to the opening to prevent too much glue from coming out somehow popped out and got glued to the brush. So annoying! I'm not sure the packaging is THAT great and especially for the price -- around $5 CAD. Because of these things, I've deducted two lippies. But, it's so much easier to work with than the regular glue bottle so I will continue to repurchase.

Cleansers -Dove - Deep Moisture creamy facial cleanser
takemenow 7/19/2011 4:42:00 PM
This is a creamy, moisturizing, foaming cleanser. I wouldn't recommend this to acne prone people but if you have normal or dry skin this would be an excellent cleanser to use in the mornings. I find it does not do a very thorough job at removing my makeup at night on it's own. Overall it's not a bad cleanser, but it doesn't "wow" me. I doubt I'd repurchase.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Stipple
takemenow 7/16/2011 1:17:00 AM
I bought this just to try it out and I actually love it! I use it to apply my blush and then use a blush brush to blend it in. Its so soft and the handle is sturdy. I've already purchased a second one to use for my foundation or just as a backup. Not sure how this works at applying foundation but for $3 or sometimes less, it's totally worth a shot.

Lip Treatments -E.L.F. - Studio Conditioning Lip Balm SPF 15 (all)
takemenow 7/13/2011 7:44:00 PM
I bought this is Nice & Natural. It's a nice nude color that is great for wearing alone or overtop any lip color. It's surprisingly quite pigmented, though it's not opaque. It's lightly scented and you can detect a hint of sunscreen in there but I don't mind it at all. Once applied, I felt a bit of a tingle..I'm not sure what that's about but it went away after a while. This is not sticky like a lipgloss at all. It feels instantly moisturizing and you will be addicted to how silky it makes your lips feel. I plan on buying all the colors. I'm officially hooked. I think these are comparable to the MAC Tinted Lip Conditioners, but totally more affordable. Packaging is big and wasteful... But hey, at least it looks chic?

Eye Primer -E.L.F. - Eyelid Primer
takemenow 7/13/2011 7:32:00 PM
The only other primer I own is a LE Twilight "Foreshadow" that I got at London Drugs. That was way too oily and it did not dry to a nice, workable texture like this primer does. I'd been wanting to get UDPP, but I'm currently on a low makeup budget so I ordered some stuff from ELF, this being one of the items. I ended up getting 9 items for around $20 instead of spending that on the single UDPP. Anyways, I did not expect much from this because I've been hearing mixed reviews for both ELF primers. But what did I have to lose? . This primer is actually really awesome. It starts out with a bit of an oily/runny/slippery feel, which I find helps you blend it into your eyelid. I give it a minute or two to dry and then go ahead and apply my eyeshadow. The primer dries very matte, and surprising picks up color very well! I did a test with a cheapy drug store eyeshadow that gives me no pigment without a primer. On the side that I swatched without primer, you can hardly tell I put anything on my hand. On the side with the ELF primer, the shadow had adhered to my skin and it was vibrant and appeared pigmented. After 9 hours of wear with my MAC eyeshadows, there's no creasing and no fading! I'm pleasantly surprised. I'm not sure why this primer makes some people's eyeshadow crease, but it didn't make mine crease at all. In fact, it made my eyelids feel silky smooth and they just look gorgeous and the shadow is easily blended. if you have super oily lids, this might not work for you...but for $1 it's worth a shot.
