Lotions/ Creams -Eucerin - Aquaphor Healing Ointment
sjm15 3/18/2006 8:39:00 PM
Aquaphor=love. I'm lucky and I work at a dermatologist's office, so we get samples of this product on a regular basis - don't even ask how many trial-sized tubes of this amazing stuff I have in my makeup drawer!! It is the perfect solution for dry, chapped lips. I can't say anything for it's moisturizing ability for the hands (or anywhere else), but it is perfection when it comes to healing lips. There was a time where I used it every night, and my lips had never been so soft. Now I use it when I really need it or when I want to play up my lips' natural color. So versatile! I love this stuff, and I will never go back! I wonder why I buy other lip balms - this always, ALWAYS solves my chapped lips problem. I recommend this to EVERYONE! You will definitely be happy with it. =D

Polishes -OPI - Los Cabos Coral
sjm15 3/16/2006 10:31:00 AM
I actually didn't buy this one yet, but I got a pedicure with this color and I must say, it is what I was expecting! There have been times where I get high expectations for a polish in the bottle, and then I'm set up for a big let down when it's finally on my nails. This polish was exactly what I expected it to be. Perfection in a bottle. It's a pretty pinky-peach, or just coral if you prefer it that way :) and it's quite opaque - I love that in a polish. There are two coats on my toes and it looks exceptional. I will definitely purchase this polish the next time I get out to a store where it is sold. This will be so gorgeous on tanned skin for the summer! I unfortunately don't tan because I'm so fair (I just burn) but it still looks wonderful with my pinkish undertones. I love it!

Polishes -OPI - Skinny Dipn in Lake Michgn
sjm15 3/16/2006 10:20:00 AM
I'm sorry to break up the good reviews on this one, but I feel I have to! I actually didn't buy this polish (good thing) but I got a manicure yesterday and this is what I chose thinking it would be the perfect nude shade. I was wrong. The shimmer adds to the beauty inside the bottle, but once on my nails it's very transparent (even with two coats) and too orange looking. The shimmer is almost invisible unless you're looking for it. I have fair skin with pinkish undertones. I had high hopes for this - it looks so pretty in the bottle. I hate it when polishes look opaque in the bottle and come out sheer on the nail. On the other hand, my mom got the same shade on her nails and it looks completely different (she's olive-skinned) - almost what I thought it would look like on me. There's hope for those with darker complexions, and maybe even hope for light-skinned girls with different undertones. This was an overall disappointing experience for me. :(

Polishes -OPI - Lincoln Park After Dark
sjm15 3/16/2006 10:09:00 AM
I'm going to sound like a parrot, but I absolutely love this nail polish! I'm fair-skinned, and I was wary at first - I saw it in a magazine and read that it was a hot color for fall, and I knew I had to have it! I searched for half a day for this nail polish and finally found it at a small beauty supply store near my hometown. I was so excited! It looked a lot darker than it had in the magazine, but I had already committed to stepping outside the box. I was one of those girls who always wore light pink or neutral shades or french manicures on her nails, and it was time to break that habit. The first time I put LPAD on, I was skeptical, but it definitely grew on me! I keep my nails short (because they *always* break if I don't!) but I think this would look great on longer nails too, for whoever wants that Gwen Stefani nail look. This will forever be the dark polish I use - I just hope I don't run out! :D It's perfect!

Treatments -Biosilk - Silk Therapy
sjm15 3/13/2006 11:34:00 PM
I can't remember the first time I used this product, but I know it's been years. My hairstylist introduced me - and I will never go back. The first time she used it, she applied it as a finishing serum - the most recent time I had my hair highlighted/cut, she used it *before* blow drying, whilst damp (obviously, hehe). Either way, I love it. I really enjoy the smell - it might seem weird, because it's not sweet-smelling or anything of the sort, it's just nice. I like the way it makes my hair feel after i blow dry or flat iron it. It makes me feel a teeny bit less bad for heat styling so often! :) I would (and have) definitely repurchase, if just to use a small amount for the smell! I also like to rub the remainder into my hands (hey, it says to do it on the bottle!) even though it's greasy - feels very nice afterwards.

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
sjm15 3/12/2006 7:39:00 PM
I just received this in a swap and I l-o-v-e it! It's wonderful! I had never used a primer before this, and now I don't think I'll be able to go without one again! I used it yesterday and my shadow stayed vibrant and fresh looking. I was a bad girl and fell asleep with my makeup on at my boyfriend's house - when I woke up this morning my shadow STILL looked pretty good!! I would recommend this to everyone, it is a great invention and I won't be able to use shadow without it again!

Lip Gloss -MAC - Lustreglass - Trance Plant

This color is so pretty - don't be fooled by the color in the tube! It's extremely sheer and has a good amount of shimmer. I applied about two-three layers and it's a nice sheer almost deep plum/brown looking shade.. it really isn't that dark at all unless you apply a few coats.. the pearl that the website describes really helps tone it down. It's wonderful :)

Eye Shadow -Clinique - Color Surge Eyeshadow Quad in Plum Seduction
sjm15 2/23/2006 7:21:00 PM
I bought this quad when it was recommended by a MA telling me that the purples would accent my green eyes. She proceeded to apply it, and used the light purple shadow from my lash line to my brow bone - needless to say, I looked like I got hit in the face. I haven't been adventurous yet, although I bought it nearly four months ago. I normally stick with the beige/taupe shadows that are in it. Those are lovely. I can't break down and use the purples just yet, I'm a little scared! Overall, it's Clinique's amazing quality yet again, and the colors are amazing.

Eye Shadow -Clinique - Color Surge in Lucky Penny
sjm15 2/23/2006 7:14:00 PM
I love the name of this eye shadow, it's so cute! The color is wonderful. I love coppery/bronze shades. It's very subtle, so it doesn't really look like I have much shadow on. I love to wear it with a brown shadow in the crease and a brown liner to complete it. It's so shimmery, and definitely packed with pigment so you don't need to use a lot. I prefer to use a little bit more than normal just so it makes a statement. This is a very versatile shade!

Eye Shadow -Clinique - Color Surge Eyeshadow in Sparkling Sage
sjm15 2/23/2006 7:11:00 PM
So pretty! I have to say, the color looks much different in the pan than on your lid, but it's a *good* different! This was recommended to me when I told the MA I wanted a nice green shadow (I purchased it almost a year ago) and it actually looked darker on the back of my hand than it did on my lid. I really liked it the first time I put it on - my eyes are green, and I love green shadow (along with browns/bronzes/golds/pinks!). It's very pigmented, which is nice because you don't need to use a lot to create the look you're going for. I love this eyeshadow line, it's so wonderful. I'm glad that it's part of 2006's spring line, I'm still in fashion a year later. =)

Eye Shadow -Clinique - Colour Surge Autumn Moss
sjm15 2/23/2006 7:05:00 PM
I thought this shadow would be much darker on my lids, but I was disappointed. :( I found I had to apply a few layers in order for it to really stand out. Don't get me wrong, it's a great color, and I will continue to use it, but ever since I bought it I haven't used it that often. I'm light-skinned, and I don't think it's deep enough for me - on the other hand, my mom is olive-skinned and she loves it. Go figure.

Lip Gloss -Stila - It Gloss - Lucky
sjm15 2/23/2006 6:14:00 PM
The prettiest pinky-bronze shade. It has subtle flecks of shimmer, just enough to be sleek. The brush applicator instead of a sponge is also wonderful. It smells soo nice, almost like chocolate - too bad it's not flavored the same way! The texture is smooth and I love the way it feels on my lips. It's amazing!

Lip Gloss -Clinique - Colour Surge Impossibly Glossy-Luau
sjm15 2/22/2006 6:46:00 PM
Pretty! I love Color Surge Impossibly Glossy - this is the second one I've bought, and I am not disappointed! The pink is wonderful, and the subtle flecks of gold shimmer are so nice. I almost returned it, but decided it's a keeper! It's very similar in color to Camisole, but with a slightly brighter pinkness (if that's a word). It's perfect.

Lipstick -Clinique - Color Surge Bare Brilliance in Precious Pink
sjm15 2/22/2006 6:44:00 PM
So nice, so pretty. I was complimented on it the first day I wore it. It's the perfect pink lipstick. Creamy with a subtle shimmer. I actually forgot I owned it until recently, and have now re-sparked the flame that once was! Definitely an every day lipstick. I love it. Although, unfortunately now my Color Surge Butter Shine lipsticks may have replaced this!

Eyeliner -Clinique - Cream Shaper for Eyes - Chocolate Lustre
sjm15 2/22/2006 6:40:00 PM
This is so creamy and so easy to apply! I was skeptical, but when I went to Bloomie's (because it was BONUS time!) I was sold on this by one of the MA's. She told me it would look beautiful with Buttered Bronze Eye Duo (she was sort of right - I think it's too bold for Buttered Bronze) so I bought it - only because they were sold out of Egyptian. It's very nice, I wore it for the first time yesterday and it was so pretty, I was complimented on it by four different women. I'm pleased with this new group of liners! (and I'm not usually a liner gal!)
