Loose Powders -BeneFit Cosmetics - Bluff Dust
rated 5 of 5

i absolutely LOVE this. the bluffdust is a yellow concealing powder (similar to BeneFit's you're bluffing, which is in stick form) that conceals redness. i don't wear foundation b/c my skin isn't terrible, but i do tend to get redness in my cheeks (mostly along my nose) & sometimes on my forehead. bluffdust is my answer to this problem! it conceals the redness pretty well (even my sunburn that i got on my face - it also does a great job at toning down the redness from blemishes) and you can layer it on for more coverage. it isn't cakey and doesn't accentuate any flakiness in my skin - and it's very easy to blend! i also noticed that this "yellow" powder made my skin look more refreshed. the packaging is cute IMO - it comes in a sifter jar with a velour puff (14g) and i have no problem getting the product out, just shake the jar a little and you're good to go.

Foundations -Neutrogena - Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Light to Medium
rated 1 of 5
shrimpchips 6/9/2007 2:00:00 AM

when they mean sheer they definitely mean SHEER! this stuff did nothing for me at all. i tried to layer the stuff hoping to get some more coverage (after banging the package 36097230967092736907236 times!!!) and it ended up looking somewhat orangey - not a pretty sight at all. the brush itself is scratchy and rough on the face and the packing is TERRIBLE. a nice idea but no. the powder itself hardly flows out no matter how many times you shake it and you always get an uneven amount. i wasted $12 on this crap.

Lip Gloss -Cover Girl - Wetslicks Fruit Spritzers - Guava Splash
rated 5 of 5
shrimpchips 6/5/2007 10:41:00 PM

i've been anticipating these and i finally saw them @ CVS today. unfortunately they didn't have many left in stock so i only picked up one, the guava splash. it's a pretty sparkly pink the tube and it shows up pretty sheer on my lips, but then again i have pigmented lips. it isn't overly sticky and it smells WONDERFUL! IMO it smells more like watermelon than guava, but whatever. i'm very happy with this product and i plan on trying the others =)

Lip Gloss -Unlisted Brand - Super Juices Sheer in Juicy Mango
rated 4 of 5
shrimpchips 5/13/2007 4:00:00 PM

this lipgloss is actually by Savvy and i bought it @ sally's beauty supply for ~$3.99. this gloss has a clear orange color in the tube but it goes on clear on your lips. it smells and tastes great, but it is quite sticky. i'm not a huge fan of sticky glosses, but i actually like this one. it does a great job at keeping my lips moist, too. i'll probably try this brand in different colors/flavors. :)

Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - Beauty Rush in I Want Candy
rated 5 of 5
shrimpchips 5/13/2007 3:58:00 PM

i love this stuff. it smells like...well, sweet, sugary candy! and it tastes great, too. it's a pretty light pink in the tube but it goes quite sheer on the lips, and it has no sparkle. it isn't overly sticky, either - i'm not a huge fan of sticky glosses. i will definitely repurchase this.

i followed suit and also bought this lipgloss because of all the reviews here - and i'm glad i did. it tastes wonderful and it's not overly sticky which i like. victoria's secret is always have their any 2/$10 or 3/$15 on beauty rush products (glosses, balms, shadows & blotting papers) so i used this opportunity to stock up on this wonderful gloss. :D

Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - Beauty Rush Lip Gloss - Mango madness
rated 5 of 5
shrimpchips 5/11/2007 1:39:00 AM

mango madness is sparkly pink in the tube but on the lips it's more like a clear gloss with sparkle. it smells and tastes great! it isn't sticky like other glosses (which i love) and it does a great job at keeping my lips moisturized :)

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush
rated 5 of 5
shrimpchips 5/10/2007 8:45:00 PM

it's a very nice peachy shimmer and honestly this could complement all skintones! it's a beautiful blush, but the price irks me - $25! i probably won't be buying this again because i fond that Fl!rt's Heartthrob blush is very similar to Orgasm so i'll probably just stick with that seeing since it's cheaper.

Mascara -Maybelline - Lash Discovery Mini-Brush Waterproof
rated 5 of 5
shrimpchips 5/10/2007 4:21:00 PM

super cheap and the mini brush is a GODSEND for clumsy girls like me who tend to poke their eyes with the mascara brush when they try to coat the very beginning (i guess thats what it's called? lol) of their lashes...and it's also nice because it coats every single lash. it's also great for putting mascara on your bottom lashes as well! it doesn't clump (you need to apply the second coat BEFORE it dries! unfortuantely this doesn't work with all mascaras) or flake - very nice drugstore find :)

Mascara -Maybelline - XXL volume+length microfiber mascara
rated 1 of 5
shrimpchips 5/10/2007 4:19:00 PM

this is probably the worst mascara i have ever tried. the white "primer" was all goopy and when you put the actual mascara on, i found it was very hard to cover the white so i ended up with zebra-looking lashes...it also clumped like crazy and my lashes felt like they had a million things on them - not a nice feeling at all! more money down the drain =[

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara
rated 1 of 5
shrimpchips 5/10/2007 4:17:00 PM

terrible! clumped like crazy and gave me "spider" lashes. my mom uses this stuff (it's her HG mascara) and it looks great on her (her lashes are so beautifully defined and they don't clump or anything!) which is why i wanted to try it but i was very disappointed! i don't understand why some products work great for some people and work poorly for others. :/

Eye Shadow -MAC - Parrot [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
shrimpchips 5/10/2007 4:16:00 PM

gorgeous teal shade! i bought this a few years back and i managed to snag one of the few remaining parrot eyeshadows that my local MAC counter had. at this time i was new to MAC and i had no idea that it was LE. it's a frost, and it has excellent color payoff, and it's BRIGHT. very blendable and smooth. however, i eventually swapped it away because i found that i never reached for it - the brightness of the shadow almost scared me haha. maybe if i wasn't so timid with wearing bright colors i probably would have reached for this one more. other than that, it's an excellent shadow and if you can get your hands on it, then do so!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Beautiful Iris (Veluxe Pearl)
rated 4 of 5
shrimpchips 5/10/2007 4:12:00 PM

i love purples, so i decided to give this one a try. it is a very gorgeous pale lilac shade, but unlike most VPs, this one doesn't have the "best" color payoff - you kinda have to pack it on if you really want the color to show up. but it's pretty on it's own as a sheer wash of color - it really brightens up my eyes and makes my brown eyes POP!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Frost Eye Shadow - Swish
rated 5 of 5
shrimpchips 5/10/2007 4:10:00 PM

beautiful color. it's a very shimmery pale pink that doesn't "scream pink" when you wear it. some pink eyeshadows are way too pink and make it look like you have pink eye or something. swish does not! it has excellent color payoff and a nice, smooth, buttery texture - very blendable, too! unfortunately i dropped mine in the bathroom and it shattered (i'm clumsy), but i repressed the shadow and there hasn't been a change in texture or color or anything :)

Highlighters -Milani - Glimmer Stripes in Honey Glimmer
rated 5 of 5
shrimpchips 5/10/2007 4:06:00 PM

omg i love this! i got it for $6.99 @ CVS which IMO isn't that expensive. there are five different "stripes" and you can use them individually for eye/cheek colors or swipe all of them for an all over face glow. IMO these are dupes of the bobbi brown shimmerbricks and the MAC MSFs, but at a much affordable price. i think i'll be stocking up on these - they're perfect for getting that nice, glowy skin look!
