Lotions/ Creams -Philosophy - Amazing Grace Firming Body Emulsion

Heavenly smell that lasts all day. Great moisturization without being at all greasy. You don't really even need to spray the Amazing Grace cologne when you wear this, it carries the scent so well. At 37, I'm noticing that my skin is needing a little firming and I love this product.

Lip Gloss -Philosophy - Red Kiss Me Lip Balm
rated 5 of 5
scarlettallison1 10/20/2003 3:19:00 AM

Kiss me red smells fresh and citrus-like and a little dab lasts all day or all night. My lips are soft, silky and naturally healthy looking when I wear it alone, and it adds moisture and resiliency over lipstick. Like just about every other Philosophy product I've ever tried, it can't be beat.

Gels/Soaps -Philosophy - Amazing Grace Bath, Shampoo & Shower Gel
rated 5 of 5

Absolutely beautiful smell & makes my skin silky and soft. I also use it on my hair with the Amazing Grace Conditioner, and I adore the results. The smell of Amazing Grace makes me happy, and I love to layer it on every way I can. Use this with an occasional switch to the Amazing Grace Olive Oil Scrub and you won't believe how smooth and fragrant your skin can be.

Powders -Youngblood - Mineral Rice Setting Powder
rated 5 of 5
scarlettallison1 10/20/2003 3:08:00 AM

Youngblood Mineral Rice Setting Powder is the most amazing oil control product I've ever used and my skin looks flawless after I apply it. I use the Medium shade and it never turns ashy. It NEVER cakes up with touch-ups during the day. The HG of setting and touch-up powder. Works wonderfully as a base under Youngblood Mineral Foundation. This product has my highest recommendations, and I'm really picky!

Fragrances -Philosophy - Falling in Love
rated 5 of 5
scarlettallison1 10/20/2003 2:33:00 AM

Falling In Love is marketed as a romantic fragrance, like soft lingerie, etc. It smells like burnt sugar at first, and eventually smells like florals and blackberries. I enjoy the smell very much, but the reaction I got to this "romantic" scent from my husband was amusing; he wrinkled his nose and said I smelled like "raspberries or something" which to him, obviously, was not a romantic smell. (He especially loves philosophy's Baby Grace and enjoys their Amazing Grace though). However my 9 year old son and my 4 year old son think Falling is Love is the prettiest darn stuff they've ever smelled, and they actually ask me to wear it. I think they respond because this smells so sugary on me. It's a fun and pretty scent, and it lasts and lasts. It's one of those scents that makes me happy.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Dandelion
rated 5 of 5
scarlettallison1 10/20/2003 1:56:00 AM

Dandelion lives up to its promises. I have used it as a blush, but I prefer it as a brightening powder. I have been complemented on my healthy flush many times while wearing Dandelion. It's in a really cute little box, it smells pretty, and it lasts because it seems to absorb oil well in its setting-powder function. The pink color of Dandelion adds more of a flush than a grandma-toned bright pink blush, so I think gals with any skin color could use it and look fresh and healthy. **UPDATE 11/27** Those of you who are worried about such a tiny amount of powder for $26.00 can relax. (I know I was worried about the price but I couldn't resist the stuff...) ;-) I've had my container since June, and I haven't even broken through to see a little of the tin yet. I use this regularly. My skin is fair, so I don't have to use a lot to get good color, but the fact that Dandelion doesn't crumble like crazy when you run the brush through it really does assure me that it lasts a LONG time!

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
rated 2 of 5
scarlettallison1 10/20/2003 1:49:00 AM

Didn't cleanse well at all. My skin is on the oily side, and I could never get away with skipping toner or astringent after using Cetaphil cleanser. And the cotton was never, ever clean after astringent was applied. Philosophy's purity made simple is absolutely the stuff to use if you like non-foamy cleansers that take off eye-makeup and tone your skin!

Lip Treatments -Kiehls - Lip Balm #1
rated 1 of 5
scarlettallison1 10/20/2003 1:39:00 AM

I was a little worried when I opened my lip balm #1 container and had to break through a crust to get to the product. I became more worried when the product felt like weak vaseline. I tried the lip balm for about two weeks, thinking my lips may adjust, but my lips were actually dry and crusted in the morning! I've gone back to my philosophy kiss me lip balm and I'm happy as a lark. kiss me red is especially nice because it smells good (unlike the Kiehl's which smells like petroleum oil) and the tint of red (and incredibly soft lips) are nice to wake up to.

Foundations -Youngblood - Natural Mineral Foundation
rated 4 of 5
scarlettallison1 10/17/2003 10:15:00 PM

At 37 I am still a victim of some acne, and I get T-Zone shine about 2 hours after applying just about any foundation I've ever tried (hundreds). Youngblood foundation stops oil break-through! When an esthetician told me about the product's coverage and lasting power I thought she was exaggerating, but, for my skin, she wasn't. My only complaint about the foundation is that it does have some shine to it, so I often put on a base of BeneFit's Dr. Feelgood before applying the foundation, and I do settings or touch-ups with Youngblood Rice Power. The Rice Powder is the most amazing oil control product I've ever used...so with the lovely coloring and fine quality of the Youngblood foundation, you can't go wrong.
