Bronzers -Physicians Formula - Shimmer Strips - Custom Bronzer Blush and Eye Shadow

This was a random impulse purchase from Target when I was there with my sister a couple of weeks ago. I am still somewhat on the fence as to whether or not this looks good on me. I am starting to think that it has something to do with how I am applying it. Because it is highly pigmented as well as VERY shimmery, it easy to look overdone and like you have shiny paint on your face. or something... What I have found to work so far is using this as a highlighter for my cheek bones and top of forehead and a light dusting down the ridge of the nose. It has an effect somewhat similar to NARS multiples but with more shimmer. When i dust over my entire forehead I feel like it makes my pores look huge and my face just too shiny. but maybe I need to try it with a better brush (recommendations anyone??). I personally think that this is very high quality stuff, comparable to many high-end products. I recently purchased a Laura Mercier Shimmer block and I honestly feel that this gives more bang for your buck. Much more shimmer (which I suppose can be a good or a bad thing.....) and more pigmented. Worth the $$ for sure. I will update this if I figure out how to make it more wearable as a bronzer or blush. But as a highlighter this is fantastic.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Surabaya Duo

This is one of the most wearable duos in the NARS collection. These two browns are both unique but very versatile. I love the warm tones and subtle shimmer. They are highly pigmented and can be worn anywhere from a subtle/casual look to a smokey and glam look. I also use them both as eye liners on a regular basis. I wish I this had been my first NARS duo purchase years back instead of India song.... I would buy this again but I don't foresee the need for that for at least a few years.

Best mascara I have ever used hands-down. Beats Diorshow, Sephora, Aveda, etc.... I have never tried Chanel so I suppose they could be in close running. But for the price and natural ingredients this is the BEST mascara. Finally, I have a mascara that actually lengthens and thickens without clumps, without making me look like I have spider lashes. I am extremely impressed by this mascara and will NEVER switch brands again.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Sugarland Duo

I bought this duo specifically for the "gold" side. I was looking for something exactly like this and could not find it in a single from any other company that looked quite like this. IMHO, this is not actually "gold" but a champagne shimmer, which is what I wanted. I had recently bought a dior quint with colors very similar to this champagne/gold color and decided to return that because they color pay off was very little and I didn't need all of those brown shadows. I swatched about 25 e/s at sephora and this was the one that I was drawn to over and over again. Of course Sephora was out of it (my biggest pet-peeve of Sephora is their back-stock is non-existent) so I went over to Nordstrom and picked it up. I have not been able to get much color payoff from the Orchid color but it seems like others have, maybe I just need to put more on. IMO, the champagne color of this duo is just so gorgeous and really brightens the eye.

I really don't think that this is worth the $$. I was seduced by the sparkly shimmer section of the quint and figured that all of the other shadows would be a good thing for me to own since I pretty much only wear brown e/s. I think that if I didn't already have so many nice brown e/s and highlighters etc.. I would be more psyched about this product. The colors are quite nice and I will say that it is nice to have a gel eyeliner and 4 shadows which do complement one another. but 2 of them don't really even show up.... I wish they made the glittery section in a single..... I am going to return this and find a nice shimmer shadow in a single instead of paying $60 for something that I will hardly use.

Blush -NARS - Creme Blush in Cactus Flower

Ok, I make a claim about what my HG blush is about every other week.... but this week it is Cactus Flower. This color is a really bright fun alternative to my standard peachy-pink blushes like orgasm and deep throat. It really lights up my entire face and looks incredible when paired with Laguna. IMO they should have made a duo of cactus flower/laguna. My skin tone varies from fair-medium to quite tan in the summer and I have found that this works no matter what my skin tone looks like. I don't notice a very significant amount of glitter as others have mentioned... IMHO its the perfect amount. looks great with Buxom lips in Lacey!! perfect match!

Blush -NARS - Super Orgasm

Where has this blush been all my life??!?!!? I already own 8 NARS blushes and have only recently ventured into orgasm territory. I have never liked the way that the basic orgasm looked on me, it always looked weird/bad. i feel the the color of super orgasm and the multiple orgasm are actually quite different than basic orgasm. And I LOVE how S.O. looks on me. And I LOVE the glitter. I don't get why so many people dislike it so much! I realize that glitter can be too much at certain times but this is not over the top IMHO. I have to dress conservatively for my job and this really doesn't seem inappropriate at all. I love it paired with Laguna. Together the two give my face a flawless, smooth, bright summer glow that looks VERY natural. I will buy this over and over again. (this blush will get used up quicker because it is not as pigmented as their other blushes and the chunky glitter causes it to loosen up each time you swipe it with your blush.but it will still last at least 6 months or more) LOVE THIS BLUSH. it is my new HG!!! (used to be deep throat) buy it!

Gosh, I am surprised to read the comment below because this product worked like a charm! I was totally blown away! My eyeshadow stayed on all day and didn't crease AT ALL! I was shocked! I was expecting it to hardly work like most other primers. It still doesn't keep NARS creme shadows from creasing though. but I don't think anything does. Oh NARS. your creme shadow colors are so gorgeous but they don't freaking stay on for more than 30 minutes! Anywho, this e/s primer is amazing. at least for me.... I will definitely buy this over and over again

Blush -NARS - Taos

I have been wanting this blush for so long. Every time I went into Sephora, the local h/e makeup boutique etc..., I would stare at longingly. For a long time I didn't buy it because this one particular MA (who I kind of can't stand for a variety of reasons... so I don't know why I listened to her) steered me away from it, saying I could really only wear it when I was tan and that I should go with something else. Honestly this lady drives me NUTS. She doesn't even seem excited about makeup yet works in this posh makeup boutique in a trendy part of town. So she told me to get something else. and I did. and I still wanted Taos months later.... I joined MUA a few weeks ago and finally read some reviews. It appeared that other fair-medium tones gals were wearing Taos with no problem (so long as they used a fan or skunk brush). So last week I finally bought it (during a super fun haul at nordies, no annoying MA from the boutique being a BUZZ KILL!!) and I LOVE IT!! Pooh on you annoying MA!! I love TAOS! buy it! Its GORGEOUS!

Lip Gloss -Aveda - Lip Shine in Grapefruit Pulp (370)

Love Aveda's lip glosses, especially this color. The texture is amazing, they are moisturizing and unscented (thank god for no gross fruity or vanilla scent/flavor YUCK) the ingredients are non-toxic and mostly natural which is always a plus. Looks great, makes lips appear fuller and last a long time. good value IMO. this is the best basic lip gloss IMO.

Blush -Aveda - Petal Essence Face Accents - Peach Lights

This is my new HG blush without a doubt. After years of failed attempts at making NARS orgasm look good on me (not counting the multiple in orgasm which is a totally different look in my opinion), I went back to my old-faithful and first make-up brand Aveda. TIme and time again I am impressed by their colors and quality of product. Their blushes are especially great because they have 3 strips of color all in the same family which end up giving the most incredibly natural appearance. You can use really cheap brushes or even the spongy thing that comes in the package and it will still look great on. I LOVE this blush. It is the perfect summer glow blush but also gives your cheeks a healthy, natural flush in the winter. Looks great with Orgasm multiple as a highlighter. Will buy again the second I run out which will not happen for a LONG time since there is so much product. Love the natural and non-toxic ingredients and gotta love the natural, lavenderish smell of aveda products. Aveda is also an incredibly environmentally responsible company. Its a healthy choice all around.

Lip Gloss -Christian Dior - Dior Kiss (Plumping)

So I owned the lipgloss for about a month before I was able to get the freakin cap off! I'm serious! And I'm a pretty intelligent and savvy person! what the heck is with the packaging? Worst EVER!! As for the actual gloss I liked it. I thought it was a great sparkly glam color that goes great with smokey eyes. I bought the color "pink lemonade" which is a subtle neutral pink. This is definitely the shiniest l/g I have ever tried which can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you look at it. It is rather sticky and it looks best when it is not layered on too thick. I did not notice any plumping effect. I am going to swap this for something that I will use more often.....

Blush -NARS - The Multiple in Orgasm

I think that I like this product for the very reason that many of the reviewers didn't- the shimmer. I really like the fact that the Orgasm multiple has a subtle shimmer in it making it fall somewhere between regular orgasm blush and super orgasm. Also, I feel that somehow the color of the multiple is slightly different than the powder blush. It looks WAY more natural on me. In fact, I don't own a orgasm blush because it never looked right on me. I was in Sephora today hoping to try the maldives multiple as well as palm beach and St. barts. They didn't have any of those in the store! Annoying! However, my eye kept being drawn to the orgasm multiple so I thought I would give it a try even though the blush has NEVER worked for me. Needless to say, I was really happy that I gave it at try as it looked gorgeous. A really lovely subtle peach shimmer. Perfect for summer and perfect for brightening up your look anytime. I am very happy with this.

I only gave it 4 lippies because I don't see how this is all that different from female trouble...but it is definitely an amazing nude color, MLBB. great for a smokey eye. the texture is fantastic and as always, I love that this has no fruity or vanilla scent. (I hate that!!!) Definitely can't go wrong with this gloss, it will be a staple.

Highlighters -NARS - The Multiple in South Beach

I just received this in the mail from Amazon.com and I psyched!! I can't believe I didn't start using NARS multiples a long time ago. Over christmas, I purchased copacabana which is great for highlighting and gives an AMAZING dewy highlight but you of course cannot use this as a blush. So I was very excited to try a multiple in a colored shade and see if it gave me a gorgeous dewy glow and I am pleased to say that it does. Although, it is 9 PM and I will have to see what this looks like in day light. I was a little afraid of the peachy aspect as I tend to want more true brown when I wear bronzers. i was worried I would look orange. I don't think I do, although no one is here to tell me! I decided to go for South Beach over Palm beach because of the reviews I read here and I think that folks are right, this really does give an amazing sun-kissed dewy look. And I needed to branch out from typical bronzing routine. Will update in a few days to see how this wears out in the real world.... I would definitely buy this again but I doubt I will run out in the next couple of years!
