i got this as a sample from my mom, and when i read the back i noticed it said for dry skin...my skin is very oily...but i gave it a try and surpringly, i really liked it! it did not feel greasy, heavy, or gross. it left my skin feeling normally balanced. it is now spring, so i guess the real test is this summer. so far, much better than my imperalis from lush. i also love that it has NO smell at all! I will def. update if anything improves or changes
Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil

i really do enjoy this lip balm. it is not waxy AT ALL, lasts a while, sinks into your lips, the scent is really light, it has no bad taste, and it makes your lips look very natural- no shine either which I think is a plus. it is very smooth going on and does like the LIGHTEST pink tint to your lips..nothing much at all but there definately is some color.
Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Coconut Body Butter

The scent of this product is so off putting and I love coconut scented products. It was fairly moisturizing however a little too sticky for my hands.
Lip Treatments -Alba Botanica - Coconut Cream Lip Balm

at first I really liked this product. i LOVE coconut! the smell is not your typical coconut, but nice. It goes on very smoothly and makes your lips look pretty, however it is just tooo "waxy" for me. Every time I have a drink it comes off, and I don't think it is that moisturizing. I feel like it does not penetrate deeply enough for me, rather it just sits on top of your lips. I don't think I will finish the tube as I am already looking for something better.
I love the scent of this, very different and not typical "vanilla." I also love the fact that it is light yet moisturizing and really sinks into your skin.
I normally would never consider buying this product without reading the reviews, however I asked the SA for her opinion on a good mascara they had. She suggested this one or the divide and multiply, and I chose this in black. She assured me if I did not like it that I could def. return it, but I don't think I will be doing that. However, I don't think I would repurchase this. I have been using Lash Blast for about 2 years straight and love the look it gives me, but hate the feeling of fake, hard lashes. This, is soft, and much more natural looking and feeling, however it is sort of sticky, takes a long time to dry after just one coat, and it does not hold a curl that well. The pro is that my eyelashes are not hard and dry and it doest not flake. It can clump easily so you have to be careful to apply it carefully. I feel like this might be comparable to full n soft from the drugstore. Not a bad product at all, but doesnt offer everything I need from a mascara.
I have tried several other dry shampoos, and this one definately lasted the longest. Every other one would use would last about 5 times and the can would be empty. This one I have been using a couple of times a week for the past 2 months or so and it's almost gone. It does work, but does not get rid of all of the oil. SInce my hair is dark I can't really use too much of it because it does leave a white residue in your hair. Honestly, I like the SAMY version best because it gives so much volume while this gives none. However, it is good for the price and my hair just gets SO oily within 1 day so I think it is just my hair. I might repurchase this, if I don't find something else, just because I like to have something just in case... but in the other scent because this one is not that flattering, however you can't smell it after you initially spray it. I got mine at Sally's for about $6 or so.
I bought this stuff because my hair needed some TLC. It did a good job of getting my hair back into shape, especially since I blow dry it every day. I would use it when I would not use regular conditioner and it really did a good job at making my hair soft. However, the bottle runs out pretty quickly. If I did not blow dry my hair after using this it left my hair somewhat limp, but then again my hair is very fine. Overall, I would highly recommend this if you have really dry, frizzy, or curly hair. The product works very well for a generic version. I found this at Sallys. I would only buy this again if my hair was in horrible condition again as I find it too much for daily use. Works very well as a detangler.
Toners -Thayers - Rose Petal Alcohol Free Witch Hazel

I love this stuff! I have been meaning to start using witch hazel as a toner for a while now but was hesitant because people complain of the smell. I was at whole foods and noticed this stuff was on sale ($8) and saw that it came in Rose Petal which I heard is also good for the skin, so I decided to give it a try. I LOVE the scent. It smells so light and pretty. I use this stuff every day, usually twice a day and it has been keeping my skin clear so far. It does not make your face tight at all (alcohol free), and just makes your skin feel so much more refreshed. The only down side is that I tend to make a mess with it because the hole it comes out of is really small so it goes everywhere on the counter and I feel like I am wasting a lot of the product. The bottle will probably last me about a month and a half or so..but it is really worth it!
I just bought this Brush at target for about $7, for $4 more I could have gotten in it with a travel bag and a few more eyeshadow brushes but I decided not to since I already have enough...but I wish I did! This brush works really well at applying brush and is really soft. I love bamboo products overall. The bristles are so much better compared to this really cheap hard one I had before. It gives a really nice soft touch and is really easy to use.
what got me with this is how darn cute it is! when i first bought it i kept it in next to my bed and was in love with the scent. so delicious smelling! however, i felt that when I used it in my bath, the scent was not the same and it also smelled sort of chemically, sorta like bleach (and no, i don't clean my shower with bleach)....i might buy another one just to keep the beautiful smell around. I am not huge on bubbles in my bath anyway, I just love the relaxing and moisturizing properties of baths which I can get from other products.
Conditioner -Aussie - catch the wave mouse+leave-in conditioner

this does not work for my fine, flat hair not does it give enough hold for my air dried curls. leaves my hair super flat and frizzy. i wanted to return it but i was so cheap it wasn't even worth the bother.
these stick really well, and so far it has only been 2 days since i started using them but i CAN tell that my teeth are getting brighter, but then again my teeth are not that stained to begin with...however, the pain is unbearable. not just when i eat, but if i sit here and do absolutely nothing i can feel he pain. the first time i used these, i got a sample and it made my gum blister. i gave it another shot and purchased the box, but my bottom teeth are killing me. i will most likely not be putting them on my bottom teeth again, and maybe using 2 bottom strips for the top since that is where my teeth need to be whitened most anyway.. the bottom ones are really short and don't cover many teeth..strange if u ask me. they are not hard to remove and i love that they don't taste like pure crap and do not move around and stay put. i do think they are expensive- $45 for a 14 day supply, but the only other ones i have ever tried were the listerine ones that were cheaper yet tasted horrid and i stopped using them after 2 uses. I love the fact that you can hardly taste anything with these on. I might go a day in between uses just because of the pain. Keep in mind, my teeth are not normally sensitive. I am still giving it a high rating for now because they seem to do the job that is asked of them- whiten teeth. update: I stopped using these because of how bad the pain was, but I can tell my teeth are whiter. I might go back to using these in a month or so for spot whitening.
Gels/Soaps -Jaqua Girls - Buttercream Frosting Shower Syrup
sarahcurll 1/1/2010 11:48:00 AM
the smell of this shower gel is absolutely amazing. it smells soooo sweet and delicious., not so much like frosting but like a sweet syrup. i think the bottle is so cute as well. i have been saving this for about 2 years now and only using it sparingly because it is too expensive for me to use every day. the only con is that the smell does not last on your skin after the shower too well. it lathers up decently but not as much as other soaps can. i would prob. give this to someone as a gift since i love giving cute items like this as presents, and with the smell, it will be sure to please. i would buy this again, but only if it was much lower in cost. people say they don't like the color, but i actually like it a lot- it reminds me of syrup or yellow cake.
i got mr. butterball as a gift for xmas, and i loved it! it smelled wonderful, really sweet, and was so cute. it made my skin soo smooth and moisturized. it left the tub a little oily but nothing major. this made my bath soo much more relaxing.
