Eyes -BeneFit Cosmetics - She Laq ] [DISCONTINUED]

I've been using this for years now. My eyeliner, no matter what brand, always runs and smudges. I use a little on a thin brush and put over my eyeliner. No smudges. Be careful not to get too close to lashline; as it will burn if you get this in your eyes. Basically, a staple in my makeup bag. Pricey, but I can't be without it now.

Sunscreen -Paula's Choice - Ultra-Light Weightless Finish SPF 30 Sunscreen Spray [DISCONTINUED]
reneeschex 4/27/2008 4:45:00 PM
I bought this spray sunscreen for my body and chest area for a recent trip to the Carribean. I, like another reviewer said, use Neutrogena Ultra Light Dry Touch 30 and love it. I like most of Paula's products, so I figured I'd give it a try. This is so greasy and tacky feeling. It is like putting cooking oil on your skin. After an hour, it dried down a little, but not much. Purchase the Neutrogena one instead.

Crème -Illuminare - Extra Coverage Foundation/ Concealer
reneeschex 4/3/2008 11:45:00 PM
I had such high hopes for this foundation. I use LM Mineral Powder and had good luck with it. Some days I want a little more coverage, so I read the reviews and purchased the trial sizes. I have worn this for 3 days and have had itchy skin and raised white bumps all over my cheek area. I must be allergic to something in it. No huge pimples; just bumps. Not good.

Powder -Laura Mercier - Mineral Powder SPF 15
reneeschex 6/3/2007 12:03:00 PM
I love this foundation. I've used many different mineral makeups, most looking cakey, too oily or dry, and causing irritation or bumps. I was about to give up on minerals when I read several early reviews for this. I finally have the coverage I want and no breakouts in almost 2 months since using this exclusively. I agree, the colors could be better, but I'm willing to mix two colors if I have to. I was matched with Real Vanilla. The color was like mud on me. It borders on brown on the skin, even with a tan. I exchanged for Real Sand and love it. Looks too light at first, but blends within minutes. Since getting some sun, I started mixing a little sample of the Real Vanilla I had with the Sand and it matches great. I prefer to apply this with a flocked sponge or Laura Mercier sponges and the coverage is perfect. The brush did not cover as well, but I use it after to blend and/or remove any excess.

Lip Liners -MAC - Cremestick Liner - Cream O Spice
reneeschex 4/26/2007 12:40:00 AM
I am surprised this color doesn't have more reviews. MAC Cremestick liners are the best lipliners I've used. Very long lasting, but soft when applying. Cream O Spice is the perfect neutral. It is like Spice with a bit more pink to it and less orange. This color is a staple in my bag.

Blush -Jane Iredale - Pure Pressed Blush
reneeschex 3/2/2007 12:14:00 AM
I am not crazy about Jane Iredale Purepressed Base. This makeup causes my skin to be in a constant state of irritation. That being said, I am addicted to the Purepressed Blush. This blush lasts all day with no irritation at all or bumps around my cheek area. I use 'Dubonnet' everday. A perfect neutral rose/brown with slight shimmer. I will be ordering 'cotton candy' for a change as well as 'whisper' for a peachy spring glow. Love this blush.

Powder -GloMinerals - GloPressed Base
reneeschex 3/2/2007 12:02:00 AM
My plastic surgeon's skin care clinic gave me this to use after laser resurfacing procedure. At first I shyed away from it because I always disliked the dry, unnatural feel of powder foundation. My skin was sensitive and raw, but I still needed something to cover redness and small discolorations 7 days later. I started using Glominerals Glopressed in Golden-Medium. It was good for a gold/slight yellow undertone; not too yellow not too beige. Perfect! The product itself has a beautiful texure and the finish is flawless. Most mineral makeup I've since tried are dry and chalky. I had been using the Jane Iredale purepressed base, but the colors were all off. It also made my skin itchy and irritated. I dabbled in Everyday Minerals to compare. My gosh, I was so shiny by the end of the day and after 2 days of using it I broke out with bumps. Possibly too much mica. I will stick with Glominerals. Be aware it will not wear as long as other makeup. The coverage does go from matte to semi-matte by days end. It still will cover, but not an ultra matte look as it starts out giving.

Lipstick -Lancome - Juicy Rouge
reneeschex 2/24/2007 11:14:00 AM
I love Lancome Juicy Rouge lipstick. They are a cross between a gloss and a lipstick. For me, these last all day when paired with my Paulas Choice Mocha lipliner underneath. Most of the colors do have a little sparkle to them. I prefer a bit of shimmer; as it brightens your whole face. My favorite color is Taffy; a neutral rosy pink. I also like Caramel for a more bronze look and Rose Sorbet for a brighter neutral pink/mauve color. The price is irritating for the amount you get, but I can't give these up. Love them.

Lipstick -Lancome - Juicy Rouge - Taffy
reneeschex 2/24/2007 11:02:00 AM
I love Lancome Juicy Rouge lipsticks. They are a cross between gloss and lipstick. I love the subtle shimmer they have. It brightens your whole face. Taffy is the best color; a rosy pink with a slight brown undertone. I reach for this color everyday with Paulas Choice lipliner in Mocha underneath. Lasts all day.

Lip Liners -Paula's Choice - Longlasting Lipliner (all colors)
reneeschex 2/24/2007 10:50:00 AM
Paulas Choice lipliners are the best lipliner on the market. I use lipgloss often and finding a liner that does not break up or bleed is almost impossible. The texture is drier than some, but that's what keeps it in place all day. I use Mocha all over my lips and apply lipcolor over it. I use the Clear as well if I want a more natural look with my gloss. The color Mocha is a universal color I can use with browns and pinks. It seems to blend with any lipcolor.

Powder -Jane Iredale - Pure Pressed Base
reneeschex 2/20/2007 2:17:00 AM
I started out liking this powder. Finding the right color was difficult. I purchased Warm Silk (too light) and returned to the salon for a shade darker (Amber). I still think the color is off, but I am not willing to try again. While using this powder, my skin seemed to always be irritated. I thought it was the dry heat or cold weather. I stopped using this last week and went back to my Glominerals glopressed base and my skin feels calm again. I have a feeling the high concentration of Bismuth Oxychloride is the reason. From what I've been reading, this ingredient can cause skin to itch and become irritated.

Treatments -Skinceuticals - Phyto Corrective Gel
reneeschex 12/30/2006 1:05:00 AM
After having laser treatment on my face this past summer, my doctor put me on a Skinceuticals regime. The B5 gel was great, but not enough moisture and left my oily skin needing more moisture. I was also instructed to use Phyto Corrective Gel twice a day. I became hooked on this gel. I am 6 months post-op and still use it. I use Tazarac at night and Phyto in the morning. The gel is so soothing and calming, it is hard to describe. The green color is not an issue. It goes on clear. It does not cause any breakouts and seems to make my skin tone better. This will not eliminate stubborn melasma (brown spots). Only Triluma RX was successful in that regard.

Crème -Laura Mercier - Silk Creme Foundation
reneeschex 10/21/2006 10:28:00 AM
The texture of this foundation is beautiful. It provides great coverage and makes your skin look flawless. If you are prone to breakouts and/or acne do not purchase. It can cause cystic acne. This foundation contains ethylhexyl palmitate which is a pore clogging ingredient. If you are not acne prone and have normal skin, you will love it.
