Pressed Powders -Chanel - Poudre Douce 30 Rosee
rated 1 of 5
redhead2000 6/20/2009 6:40:00 PM

For reference, I am NW15, red hair, green eyes, and freckles. I had high hopes for this powder. I kept reading on the boards and reviews that it made skin look glowing and ethereal. It didn't do either for me. This is pink in the pan, but when I applied it, it didn't give my skin any additional color. In fact, it really didn't do anything to enhance my skin. Like catnap commented, it made my face very sparkly in the sun. I would not purchase this again. At the time of this review, the powder is $50 for 14g/0.49oz. To me, it's not worth the $$$.

Fragrances -Comptoir Sud Pacifique - Caramel Sunset

On me, this smells like a plasticky coconut with a dash of caramel. Reminds me of a room spray or a car air freshener. No me gusta.

Misc Beauty Tools -Clarisonic - Pro Skincare Brush
rated 1 of 5
redhead2000 6/14/2009 10:23:00 PM

mabel2026 said it all. When I read her review, I thought "I couldn't have said it better myself." I have dry skin and rarely break out. I get the occasional zit here and there, usually once a month. I read the reviews for the Clarisonic and wanted to try it for myself. I used it with my regular cleanser, then tried the Clarisonic cleanser for sensitive skin, and the one for normal skin. At first I loved the way my skin felt. I hustled over to my family members and friends exclaiming, "Feel my face!" because my skin was so soft. But after a few uses, I began to see the little bumps that other reviewers experienced. They would last for a day or two, and then more would appear. I began to feel very self-conscious about my appearance. Needless to say, the Clarisonic is going back to the store.

Lotions/ Creams -Hawaiian Tropic - Coconut After Sun Body Butter
rated 3 of 5
redhead2000 6/3/2009 7:53:00 PM

Like some other reviewers said, I wanted something that would beat the winter blues, so I purchased this. I wanted something that would smell exactly like the Hawaiian Tropic Dark Tanning Oil. (Love that fragrance!) This comes close, but isn't an exact match. This cream is okay, but it doesn't moisturize as well as other body butters I have tried. At the time of this review, this product is $7.19 for 8 oz. I purchased mine from Drugstore.com, and have also seen it at Harris Teeter.

Scrubs -Korres - Watermelon Body Scrub
rated 3 of 5
redhead2000 6/3/2009 7:49:00 PM

I like this scrub, although I was hoping for more of a watermelon scent. It really doesn't smell like anything. It makes my skin feel very soft, but I think there are products that will do the same thing for cheaper. At the time of this review, this body scrub is $17 for 5.07 oz.

I do not like this fragrance at all. It smells like Pledge with a tiny hint of vanilla. Definitely a no-go for me.

Lotions/ Creams -Sephora - Espresso Chocolate body butter
rated 2 of 5
redhead2000 4/14/2009 6:13:00 PM

Meh. The scent is just ok, kind of like a plasticky chocolate. Like other Sephora body butters, it is a little greasy, but leaves your skin baby soft. At the time of this review, a 6.7 oz tub retails for $16.

Fragrances -Crazylibellule and The Poppies - Vanilla Sucre Glace
rated 1 of 5
redhead2000 4/12/2009 10:12:00 AM

I hate to be the dissenter, but I really disliked this fragrance. I didn't detect any vanilla; on me this smells like a sickening sweet baby powder. It reminded me of my friend's car air freshener. I do like the tiny cardboard applicator--it was very cute. It's a shame this didn't work on me.

I really like this body butter. It smells like coconut cream, with a hint of vanilla. It is very moisturizing, and leaves my skin soft and sweet-smelling. I would definitely repurchase. At the time of this review, a 6.7 oz tub is $16.

Lotions/ Creams -Estee Lauder - Bronze Goddess Luminous Body Lotion
rated 1 of 5
redhead2000 4/11/2009 10:37:00 PM

I have the Bronze Goddess Eau Fraiche Skinscent, and I prefer it to this product. This lotion has some shimmer, and it comes in a square squeeze bottle. The lotion does not smell as good as the skinscent. On me, it was very "chemically". I would rather have the skinscent, as it is the strongest formulation of the three products (skinscent, body oil, and lotion) and lasts the longest. At the time of this review, this product is $32 for 6.7 oz.

Skincare - Body -Estee Lauder - Bronze Goddess Body Oil Spray
rated 1 of 5
redhead2000 4/11/2009 10:31:00 PM

I prefer the eau fraiche skinscent to this. I cannot smell this on my skin, and I don't like the way the oil feels on my skin. I would rather have the skinscent, as it is the strongest formulation of the three products (skinscent, body oil, and lotion) and lasts the longest. At the time of this review, it is $32 for 3.4 oz.

Fragrances -Estee Lauder - Bronze Goddess Eau Fraîche Skinscent
rated 3 of 5
redhead2000 4/6/2009 7:51:00 PM

I tried this several times, and I really like it. My boyfriend thinks the initial spray smells like pine trees, and to an extent he's right. However, after awhile, I can smell gardenias and coconut, and it turns into a very sweet fragrance. I would rather have the skinscent, as it is the strongest formulation of the three products (skinscent, body oil, and lotion) and lasts the longest. I spoke to an Estee Lauder SA, and she said that although this is LE, it comes out every summer. I'm glad, because I can see myself using this bottle up between now and September. At the time of this review, the Bronze Goddess Eau Fraiche Skinscent is 3.4 oz for $52.

Lotions/ Creams -Sephora - Tropical Jasmine Dry Oil
rated 3 of 5
redhead2000 3/13/2009 6:06:00 PM

I wish the "Would you buy this product again?" question had a "maybe" option. I liked this oil--it soaked into my skin quicky, and I agree with the reviewer who said it reminded them of the way heat smells. Basically, I like it, but I don't know if I like it enough to purchase again. IMO, Estee Lauder Bronze Goddsss is closer to a tropical scent.

Fragrances -Bobbi Brown - Beach
rated 2 of 5
redhead2000 3/7/2009 9:40:00 PM

This is not what I was expecting with a name like "Beach". I was hoping for Hawaiian Tropic tanning oil, but this isn't it. I was disappointed. To me, it didn't smell like Coppertone, either.

Fragrances -Demeter - The PMU sprays in general
rated 2 of 5
redhead2000 3/7/2009 9:35:00 PM

I love the fact that these scents are so different than your average fragrance, and that they smell just like the item they are replicating. I also "get" that they are called "Pick Me Up Sprays" and you are supposed to carry them around with you and respray as needed. However, I still wish they had more staying power on the skin. I would repurchase some of them if they did.
