Another great L'Oreal product! Left my hair with very little damage and a beautiful light neutral blonde color with no brassiness. No more salon visits for me! My salon appointments will be in my bathroom with Excellence from now on! The fumes are fairly strong, but this does not sting or burn my scalp at all - and I am confident with the results I will get, I am not afraid of getting bright orange or butter blonde yellow hair. A winner in my book, and I've been dying for 17 years!!!! The key to getting good results with it is to leave it on longer than the box says. I leave it on for an hour to avoid brassiness!
Lipstick -Revlon - Super Lustrous Lipstick in Champagne on Ice

Wonderful pearl neutral, I love this shade! The lipstick formula itself is great since Revlon reformulated these recently. No waxy feel and no fragrance or perfume taste. I was using a L'oreal color similar to this one, but it was very heavily scented and left a nasty taste in my mouth, although the color itself was pretty. Will be switching to Revlon. I can get the same color without the smell or taste, and Revlon has 2 for 1 sales sometimes, so it's worth it. Great drug store find, highly recommended!
Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - MegaEyes eyeshadow in "Naked" [DISCONTINUED]
piscesenchantress 9/25/2007 11:35:00 AM
Awesome, Awesome dirt cheap neutral!!! I bought this based on the reviews here and I am happy to say that I have found my "everyday office" brown shade. I have oily eyelids and this held up wonderfully all day. For $1.29, can't be beat!! Will repurchase.
Hair Color -L'Oreal - Preference Shine Extending Hair Color
piscesenchantress 9/4/2007 9:30:00 PM
I have used L'Oreal with good results before. This one was alright, I think I just need to go a shade lighter. At least it didn't kill my scalp like some other colors I've used! I'm going to try this again in a lighter shade and see what I get for results. Otherwise, back to Excellence!
Love this stuff! After using L'Oreal Vive conditioners for years, I had to switch to something else because the Vives had changes in the formula, and they were making my hair like straw!!! After trial and error, I ended up with Dove. This detangles well, leaves my hair really soft and smelling wonderful. Plus, it rinses completely so I am not left with residual soap that itches my scalp. Unless something else catches my eye, I'll be sticking with this one!
Great cheap lipstick! I actually like these better than my high end ones, which end up sitting in my makeup drawer until they go bad! For the $1 to $2 range, you can't go wrong, and I don't feel guilty throwing one away if the color doesn't look good, since they are so cheap! They have great staying power, no artificial smell, and they last! This color is a great frosted pink that doesn't look like you still live in the 80s - I am sure it would look great on most skin tones. Give this a try ladies, there's a reason that Wet N Wild lipsticks have been around so long!!
Awesome nude lip liner! Like the Wet N Wild lip glosses and lipsticks, I have used this for years. Perfect neutral color, lasts fairly long, and decent quality considering they are only $1.00!! Comparable to the MAC Spice liner, for those of you who are shelling out extra ching for that one! Give it a try, definite great cheap gem!
Lip Gloss -Wet 'n' Wild - MegaSlicks Lip Gloss in #568 Bronze Berry
piscesenchantress 7/30/2007 9:00:00 AM
This has been a staple in my makeup bag for years. Great neutral color, and it works wonderfully over neutral lipsticks too. I like the fact that you can find them in drug stores for $1.50 or less, and you get a decent quality product for the cheap price. I've tried higher end lip glosses and always come back to this one! Works great with the #666 lip liner too!
Pressed Powders -Maybelline - Shine Free Pressed Powder
piscesenchantress 7/25/2007 4:18:00 PM
Ah, good old Shine Free. I remember when this came out years ago, I was probably in 7th or 8th grade. It came in a lavendar blush-size package, way smaller than the one today. It has been an on and off staple in my makeup bag over the years. It is a pretty decent powder, one of the few drug store yellow based powders that doesn't change color. It does control oil really well, but it is not as finely milled as other powders out there so if you don't apply it carefully it will look chalky. But if done right, it gives a good finish, requires minimal touch ups, and doesn't change color. The packaging isn't that great, but for what you pay for the product, you really can't complaint. Great buy on a budget or in a pinch, would recommend it. L'Oreal makes some great powders and I've been using those, however this is a good standby if you're in a pinch!
Best liquid liner I have ever used - besides L'Oreal and Revlon, theirs are good too. I have used Maybelline liquid liners for years, and continue to do so. They stay put without smudging, flaking, fading or irritation. They are so cheap, and I only have to replace them every few months, no too bad considering I wear it everyday! I've tried others, including high end and always come back to this one.
Conditioner -Dove - Sheer Moisture Leave-In Replenishing Mist
piscesenchantress 7/25/2007 4:01:00 PM
Love this stuff! I stumbled upon it when Thermasilk discontinued their awesome leave-in and I couldn't find it anywhere. Dove is made by the same company as Thermasilk, so I figured I would give it a try. I have mid-back length dyed blonde hair that tangles terribly. This detangles well and conditions my hair without making it greasy. I have used this for a few months now, and it has really improved the condition of my hair. If they ever start making the thermasilk one again, that is the only way I would switch. Til then, this will be a staple in my bathroom cabinet!
All I can say is TERRIBLE. It's too bad, because Maybelline used to have some decent mascaras but this is not one of them. It comes in a generous enough sized tube, but the product is very runny, doesn't dry completely, sticks lashes together, and smudges terribly in the heat. Not to mention that if you have sensitive eyes like me it stings them like crazy. I had this on and got caught in a terrible rain storm. Not only did it run down my face, but when it got wet and ran into my eyes my eyeballs were on fire to say the least. Doesn't flake, but how could it when it smudges before it has a chance to. I know some of the diehards love this one, but I think there are better products out there for the money.
Pressed Powders -New York Color - Pressed Face Powder
piscesenchantress 7/25/2007 3:50:00 PM
This is a great product for oily skinned girls (like me!) on a beauty budget!!! NYC is a division of Sally Hansen, so if you like Sally Hansen products, which I have found to be of good quality, you'll love the NYC products. I grabbed this in a pinch when I needed powder and I was broke. This powder is light, blends well, and keeps my skin oil free for hours. It does turn color a little bit when I do get breakthrough oil, but not so terrible that it looks horrific and orange. I find that I don't have to touch up as much when I use this, it takes care of the oil. For $1.79, how can you beat it? I also noticed that they started advertising on their packaging that they DO NOT test on animals, which I think is wonderful. Give this one a try, ladies. For under $2, even if you don't like it you won't feel guilty throwing it away. I love it and plan on repurchasing!
Hair Color -L'Oreal - Natural Match haircolor [DISCONTINUED]
piscesenchantress 5/17/2007 10:12:00 AM
I have been a loyal L'Oreal fan for years, and this is no exception! After straying to Nice N Easy and having my well-kept blonde colored hair totally fried (and I have been coloring for 17 years!) I decided when my roots came in to go back to L'Oreal. I chose this because I needed to re-do the entire head (because I was switching colors and brands) and I wanted something gentle because my hair is already damaged. I gave this a try because it is ammonia free, and it worked wonderfully. I used 9N, a light natural blonde color - very similar to the Color Spa Chardonnay color which I used to use and can no longer find. Because my hair is already damaged, I did experience some dryness, but nothing worse than what I already have. I was very impressed with the color - Nice N' Easy although did the blond job, was supposed to be "neutral" but left golden yellow hughes, which I despise since my natural color is an ash based blond. This left a really pretty, light, neutral blond. I will be re-purchasing this and never straying again from L'Oreal haircolor!!!!!
Deodorants -Jason Natural Cosmetics - Lavender and Organic Tea Tree Oil
piscesenchantress 5/17/2007 10:06:00 AM
I have to say, I have tried other natural deodorants and this one takes the cake! It goes on smooth and dries without staying wet or slimy like some other natural deodorants I have used. It lasted all day, kept me dry, and kept me smelling clean!!! Unforturnatly, I have not had the greatest luck with keeping odor at bay with other natural brands, but this one works wonders. Definite repurchase, and I am glad to see that they are finally selling it in places like Walmart!!!
