First, the price. This brush is $7 compared to $42 for the MAC 187. This brush is great for the price! After about 4 months, the bristles weren't holding up so well. It became too flimsy to continue using. I've since gotten the 187 and it's much, much better. If you've never used a stippling brush before, this is a great way to try it without spending too much.

Loose Powders -Cover Girl - Professional Loose Powder

I needed a powder to set my foundation. This does have a strong scent that can be too much for some people. It doesn't bother me, personally. The packaging sucks, that's my main issue. The sifter is terrible and it's messy to open and close. However, the product itself is fine. It's very light, transparent and it made my face look great. For about $6, this wasn't bad at all. Because of the packaging, I probably won't purchase this again. It just gets too messy to use.

Hair Color -Amphigory - Special Effects in Fish bowl
rated 2 of 5

I'm really disappointed. I've had no problems with other colors that I've purchased from SF. Maybe I picked up a bad bottle but I cannot get this color to work, period. I've tried this on both my own and others hair. It will not stick to hair AT ALL. I've let it set for hours, even overnight and it still washes out when I go to rinse. I'm really frustrated as this dye is a bit expensive.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot in Painterly
rated 5 of 5
paperskies 5/14/2009 2:01:00 AM

I had been using the NYX Jumbo Pencils as a base for my shadow. It'd crease and look like a mess by the end of the night. I decided to try the Mac Paint Pots because I've heard great things about their staying power and how they handle creasing. My lids are a little oily and I haven't experienced ANY creasing. I had cried quite a bit earlier and the eyeshadow hadn't moved at all. I'm amazed and I'll absolutely be picking up more of these. I love their consistency and color. Painterly completely evens out my lid and provides a great base for all of my eyeshadows. I only wish they were cheaper. But because these work so well, I don't mind as much.

Lipstick -MAC - Lollipop Loving - Heatherette
rated 4 of 5
paperskies 5/6/2009 1:13:00 PM

I purchased this yesterday. I was a bit intimated by the color in the tube, it was a bright (though gorgeous) coral pink. However, it was almost the same color as my natural lip color! This lipstick is gorgeous and definitely great when you want a little something without being too much. I do notice a slight green shimmer but the gold is dominant. Also, the LL that came out with Sugarsweet has less green shimmer than it's original release with Heatherette. This would be great for those of you that were put off by the green shimmer before.

Lipstick -MAC - Blankety
rated 4 of 5

I've been on a hunt for a great nude lipstick. I was torn between this and Myth. After reading that Myth is almost concealer like, I went with Blankety. I saw swatches and it seemed like a perfect shade. I love the formula but the color isn't what I was expecting. It is a nice neutral lipstick when I apply it. However, this color is barely two shades lighter than my natural lip color. Unless I'm in bright light, it doesn't look like I'm even wearing lipstick. When seeing swatches, it appeared nude on others. I really wanted to love this lipstick. I'm still using it but I've paired it with Underage to get the nude color I wanted.

Lip Gloss -MAC - underage lipglass
rated 4 of 5

I've come to love this lipglass. The color is great and it smells amazing! I have very pigmented lips and it significantly tones them down when worn alone. I like using this over Blankety, which was a bit too dark for me.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Deluxe Shadow Box

Another amazing palette from Urban Decay! The shadows are soft and almost velvet like. They go on smoothly without any fallout. You're given a mix of a vibrant colors and also a few neutrals. With nine shadows to choose from, you're given infinite options to mix and match. Theres a color to suit just about everyone. You also get a mini UDPP with this. The packaging is really great and definitely portable enough to carry in my bag. This is also a great way to try the UD shadows before you commit to the full sized versions. Highly recommended!

Palettes -Urban Decay - Foreshadow Set [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
paperskies 4/30/2009 6:55:00 PM

This is one of my first palettes from Urban Decay. I was really drawn to the turquoise and brown pairing. These colors are very pigmented and you can easily build the color to your preference. Because of this, I feel that this palette can suit both older and younger makeup lovers. The colors start off light, giving you a soft wash of color. When building the color, they become bright and vibrant. This palette is great for both neutral and dramatic looks. The packaging is really cute and small enough to carry around in my purse. My only complaint is the glitter in Midnight Cowboy. However, after blending it enough, the glitter disappears and you're left with a gorgeous highlight color. The Foreshadow palette includes four colors: Oil Slick (black with rainbow shimmer), Stray Dog (dark brown), Midnight Cowboy (soft beige with silver glitter) and Flipside (gorgeous teal!). I highly recommend this palette, it's definitely worth the $24. Also, on a side note... UD's shipping is extremely fast. My package arrived from Florida to California within two days. That was with their free ground shipping. Urban Decay is a great brand, check them out!

Other -Unlisted Brand - Vicks Vapor Rub
rated 3 of 5
paperskies 3/29/2009 2:16:00 PM

My lips are extremely dry and nothing seemed to be working. I've spent a lot of money on various lipbalms and treatments. I was given a tip to try this. It was a last resort, so I went for it. This worked amazingly well. It's basically vaseline with menthol. The vaseline sinks into your lips and moisturizes them. I've found that the menthol works as a lip plumper and also smoothes the lines in my lips. The tingle sensation is really nice and it doesn't burn it all. Please note that the packaging says not to put it near the mouth. Be careful when you're doing this. It also says not to put it in your eye but I'm not telling you to go ahead and stick that in your eye either. My lips have never been this soft. It was hard wearing lipsticks because my lips were terribly dry. I'd recommend using this at night. Put a generous amount on your lips and leave it on while you sleep. You'll wake up with soft and plumped lips.

Gels/Soaps -Unlisted Brand - Dial - Yogurt Vanilla Honey Nourishing Body Wash
rated 5 of 5
paperskies 2/21/2009 3:34:00 AM

The name definitely got my attention. Yogurt Vanilla Honey! The smell is incredible! It lathers extremely well and the soap is very creamy. Unlike most bodywashes, the smell stays on your body after the shower. The price is great and I'll definitely be purchasing this again.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Honey
rated 4 of 5
paperskies 2/13/2009 10:59:00 PM

I have dry skin and lately it's been acting up. I decided to try this after hearing several of rave reviews about it. It was natural, cheap and there was really nothing to lose. Heres a tip: I microwaved the honey on a little dish for about 8 seconds. This turns it into a more liquid consistency and its much, much easier to apply. The little bit of warmth feels good too. I massaged it onto my face and let it sit for about twenty minutes. It washed off very easily, surprisingly. After drying my face, I noticed that it had calmed the redness a little bit and had also given me a really nice glow! My skin was also smooth (amazing, my skin has been so terrible this week!) and very soft. I'll continue using this, definitely. If I got these amazing results after one use, I'm eager to see my skin improve by the end of the week.
