Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - Midnight Fantasy Britney Spears
panda0410 1/8/2010 11:49:00 PM
This is one perfume not directed at me as a target audience, and Britney generally is not my thing. I do however adore this perfume. I originally started with Fantasy, which is beautiful, but almost sickeningly sweet. So when Midnight Fantasy was promoted I had a go at it too! I have to say I vastly prefer this over the original Fantasy. Its not as sweet and has a more sultry appeal to the smell. This also has a powdery note to it when it settles unlike the original Fantasy, and I get a very sweet and simple blueberry scent from it. I find the fragrance more than appealing and I always buy the 100ml bottles, I've had several! It isnt a complicated scent though, doesnt remotely compare to classy fragrances like Flowerbomb - but in all seriousness its a very loveable, easy to wear perfume and in all fairness to its simplicity it really is so well worth the money for a super appealing fragrance that I will continue to buy this. Gorgeous bottle, really well priced, if you like sweet perfumes but not overly fussed with the original Fantasy then try this.

Fragrances -Viktor & Rolf - Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb
panda0410 1/8/2010 5:45:00 AM
This is a really classy fragrance that I would (and do) buy again and again! It definitely opens with freesia - freesias are one of my favourite flowers and that opening note is a standout for me. The scent unfolds beautifully and slowly, it isnt harsh and unlike other reviews I find this nothing like Angel which behaves terribly, has a harsh sharp note note and rapid unfolding, I rather dislike Angel to be honest. Flowerbomb is slow to develop, it settles to s slightly powdery note which is fine by me because I prefer them like that. I dont get a lot of patchouli from it, which is also fine because I hate the traditional patchouli scent normally associated with incense stores and aromatic body oils. This is definitely a much better version and isnt offensive as with other fragrances that have patchouli in them. I must admit to not getting a lot of rose in this scent or at least not in the typical version, say like in YSL Paris or the equally revoulting Tea Rose scent, the rose in this is gentle, caressing almost and rather sweet & subtle. I definitely dont get vanilla or chocolate - neither of those are remotely apparent nor are they listed as identifiable notes within professional reviews. It holds pretty well, hours and hours later I can still smell it and it still get whiffs of the freesia top notes that much later as well which is superb. I find most fragrance top notes vanish after the inital application and you are left with base notes which is often unattractive. This is one fragrance that attracts attention. I get lots of compliments when I wear it and for those who dont recognise it I am frequently asked what it is. I am unimpressed by the price however, I do love it so much that the price while normally prohibitive to purchase really doesnt offend me enough to stop me from buying this particular fragrance.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Rated R- Starflash
panda0410 9/15/2009 12:34:00 AM
Rated R = must have.... period! This is such and intriguing colour, its more like a mustardy green than a true green or yellow, the base you use definitely affects the colour, over a green base you get a beautiful chartuese, over a yellow base you get a lovely mustard. I originally thought I could dupe my Sharp with Rated R, but soon discovered that Sharp is a slightly - but noticeably - greener than Rated R, although I'm definitely not disappointed with Rated R being the imperfect dupe, I simply love it!!! This colour is gorgeous with Top Hat - I frequently to almost always pair it with that, it also goes very nicely with other purples and browns of most descriptions!! I tend to find its highly complementary to the entire range of colours promoted with Cult Of Cherry so if you are looking for some schematics to reference, go back to that for some safe and beautiful suggestions. It goes beautifully with all the CoC dupes as well - Coppering, Cranberry etc etc. It also pairs well with really dark greens, Humid and or Green pigment are great for more harmonious pairings - this colour is a real delight!! Dress it up or down, the colours is great, it blends like a dream, if you have brown eyes I cant see how anyone could go wrong with this shadow.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Club Eye Shadow
panda0410 9/15/2009 12:21:00 AM
I'm another user that shares no love for Club.... It has a beautiful duochrome that makes it quite gorgeous and appealing in the pot, a shimmery bluey reflect over a deepened brown - colours that are generally flattering on me. However, I knocked more than a few lippies off because this colour lied to me!! Applied it shows its true colours and the engaging blue/green duochrome and lovely dark brown fades significantly into an earthy red mess that just makes me look like I have been bashed.... being bashed by Club is not something that appeals to me...LOL... but if you like the bruised up look then this might work for you ;) The texture isnt too bad, it can be a little hard to blend, especially over a base like UDPP. This colour really needs to be foiled if you want the ducochrome to be apparent, otherwise, try Blue Brown pigment, its a more honest colour than Club, blends much better and you dont lose the duochrome either.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Moth Brown
panda0410 9/15/2009 12:09:00 AM
Released with Madam B and then again with Barbie this is hands down one the best shadows MAC has made to date - ever! This isnt just for the collectors or die hards, this is a colour that really is a must have. Its chameleon like characteristics made it too hard to successfully dupe and way to beautiful not to own. In the pot it looks like just another flat cool dark brown, but its so much more a complicated colour than that. Its base colour is a dark mushroomy taupe, but it has a highly distinct plum/grey taupe hues as well which is part of what makes it so unique. Its excellent on its own or added to others, this is a TDF colour for smokey eyes, especially if you are a brown eyed girl! This is IMHO a shadow that everyone should endeavour to own, and hopefully MAC will release it again in the future. Its one of my most loved and used shadows!!

Lipstick -MAC - Frost Lipstick in O
panda0410 9/8/2009 10:48:00 AM
Chameleon in a tube is "O"!! I was never interested in this colour, not remotely, the sight of it in the tube was just awful and I was happy to never see it again!! Then CoC released, and I reconsidered and went for a swatch instead - if I had swatched this colour before I would have bought it on the spot!! This is such a unique colour, its changes colour easily depending on your base colour (if you fill with liners first or not) and lighting, and applied it presents as a deep plummy, berry, burgundy, purpley, coppery with gold pearl and its FANTASTIC!!! I find the colour highly intriguing and so do people that see it on me ;) Dont let the colour in its tube turn you off - before you walk away SWATCH it and see ;)

Lip Gloss -MAC - Via Veneto Dazzleglass
panda0410 5/15/2009 9:02:00 PM
Like ALL dazzleglasses its quite expensive value and I for one am miffed at the product value... however this one is totally worth picking up if you can look past the price tag and product volume. This is Fashion Mews in a tube!! A beautiful lilac lavender with blue reflects this one does NOT look blue on the lips and offers a beautiful lilac sheen that lasts - its a gorgeous spring colour or if you are looking for a cooler look then this is the one for you!! It doesnt really compare to Rags To Riches - which by comparison parts a much pinker hue, but it absolutely isnt Comet Blue looking either. Vie Veneto is definitely lilac, and for me was a must have. This being part of Euristocrats II makes it LE and for that reason and because I am in love with the colour I got 2 of them. This is a nice workable colour, but people with very warm skin tones might find the contrast a little harsh. This is beautifully paired over Fashion Mews and Lavender Whip, it also goes nicely over pinks or even nudes!!

Lip Gloss -MAC - Pleasure Principle Dazzleglass
panda0410 4/12/2009 6:41:00 AM
This is a super clean white dazzleglass with teal glitter and its amazingly beautiful!! The thing I like about this one in particlaur is that it can be applied over lippies without dramatically manipulating the colour - it does more to soften and highlight underlying lipstick colours than actually chnage them and this makes this dazzleglass a must have!! This can be worn alone as well, but be warned its a cooler colour alone with the teal glitter and the whiteness can cool out lips so balancing eyes and cheeks is a must. For those of you missed this but do have Snowscene from Chill then dont despair - the glitter in Pleasure Principle is EXACTLY the same as Snowscene and overall Snowscene actually has better glitter component. It has less opacity than Pleasure Principle though so Snowscene can leave your lips looking a little whiter than Pleasure Principle does, but if you apply Snowscene a little less thick its pretty good dupe. Definitely buy again.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Dazzleglass - Money, Honey
panda0410 4/12/2009 6:35:00 AM
Money Honey is one of only a few I consider to be a little more classy in the colour combinations. I like to think of this as a paler milkier version of Spanking Rich but has a little more pink. It definitely isnt what I consider to be a clean pink and there are other nuances in there that make this a very interesting colour. This has quite a bit more glitter than some of the other colours so this one really stands out. Its also a little more versatile in that this look fabulous over lighter and paler lippies or can be used alone without being too sheer. Its base colour is pretty good quality wise and its one of my personal favourites!

Lip Gloss -MAC - Dazzleglass in Miss Dynamite
panda0410 4/12/2009 6:31:00 AM
This s a very uncomplicated copper orange colour with loads of glitter!! The base colour is a little sheer but the volume of glitter in this totally makes up for that. I absolutely love the glitter component but I really dislike the colour! This is far too warm for me to wear but for those who like it this packs a pretty good punch in the dazzle category. I personally wouldnt buy this again, but thats totally based on colour preferences and not quality wise - this is a pretty good dazzleglass in quality, colour depth and glitter component. I would love to see this reproduced in other colours!

Lip Gloss -MAC - Dazzleglass in Date Night
panda0410 4/12/2009 6:22:00 AM
This is an amazingly beautiful colour and definitely one of my favourites. This is a deep plum base highlighted by blue glitter and it looks utterly gorgeous either by itself or over dark lippies like Kirsch mattene. I super ultra love this over the dark vampy colours, but for everyday use this is beautiful by itself as well. This is definitely one of the darker colours in the range and I dont recommend this over pale lippies - it looks out of place over a blue based pink. This is one of my must have colours and I will buy this again!

Lip Gloss -MAC - Extra Amps Dazzleglass
panda0410 4/12/2009 6:15:00 AM
This is a really wow bright clean pink with blue and pink glitter!! Its not too sheer, though its not heavily pigmented either, the blue glitter in this really stands out!! This is a pretty clean pink, there arent any undertones to other colours and its pretty bright. I really like pairing this with Too Fab but if you like a little more shhh to your lip colour then this goes just as beautifully over any other pink. Because this has blue glitter in it, it really looks gorgeous over cooler colours as well and I find this a really easy pink to use - you dont need a lot of thought to make this look good!! Absolutely I would buy this again, I already have several :)

Lip Gloss -MAC - Dazzleglass Moth To Flame
panda0410 4/12/2009 6:07:00 AM
This is a super neutral, super sheer dazzleglass that did very little to impress me. It does apply very sheer - to almost clear - and really if you wwant colour then you need to apply this over a lippie. Girls with less pigmented lips might get good value from this though. The saving grace to this dazzleglass is the violet pearl - its quite slight - but it is there and I quite liked that. I would like to see this with more violet glitter than it has though - if MAC produced that the I would probably buy a dozen!! I wasnt as impressed with this as I was with others, but I put yes to buy again because it is a neutral and can be worn alone for an easy looks its a super easy pick for less fussy days.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Dazzleglass - Steppin' Out
panda0410 4/12/2009 6:01:00 AM
This looks pretty loud in the tube, but applied is really rather tame. I was disappointed at the sheerness of this dazzleglass because it looks amazingly vivid in its tube. Its an intensly bright coral pink, but on lips tames right down to a quite pale sheer baby coral pink. It does do a lovely job warming up my face a little though and I do like it over a lippie. The glitter component in this isnt fabulous either, it has much less glitter in it than others and overall isnt as dazzley as others.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Dazzleglass Stop! Look!
panda0410 4/12/2009 5:43:00 AM
This isnt the most unique pink dazzleglass there is, but it is one of the darker ones and more complicated pinks. It is a borderline pink mauve colour that has been compared to Ms Fizz. I can tell you safely this is NOTHING like Ms Fizz, it lacks the depth of colour, pigmentation, and intensity that Ms Fizz has and Stop! Look! pales in comparison. It is however still a pretty colour, the blue pearl in this isnt overly obvious though and its a more pink based mauve than anything else. This is darker than any of the other pinks though and I consider this closer in colour to Dazzlepuss than any of the other dazzleglasses ~ so if you missed Dazzlepuss then this comes close enough. I would probably buy this again if I didnt have other pinks that I liked better.
