Makeup Brushes -MAC - 212 Flat Definer
rated 5 of 5

Just when I think I don't need anymore brushes, I fall in love with this one. It is a bit pricey (22 bucks, I believe) but it is so multifunctional. The main usage I have for this is tightling both upper and lower lash lines with eyeshadows. I never thought I would need this brush until I went to one of those MAC girls night out, you know the one where you purchase a 50 dollar gift card and get a makeup tutorial in a class setting. Well after being taught how to properly use this brush I just had to have it. If you use this for one thing and one thing only, I would say it is most useful when you reinforce your eyeliner with a shadow of the same color. This brush picks up a good amount of eyeshadow and then you just pack the eyeshadow over your eyeliner to reinforce the color and of course staying power. Hope this helps for all those gals who feel this brush was a waste of money.

Eyeliner -Smashbox - Jet Set Waterproof Eye Liner in Black
rated 2 of 5
normaestrada19 12/16/2010 12:31:00 PM

This was smudge city on me, even on my upper lid, and I always wear a primer so my oily lids are never an issue. I have only had this for about 2 weeks, but can tell it will dry out sooner than a MAC fluidline. So back to Sephora it goes. As far as gel liners go MAC fluidline is still my fave. I have yet to find a gel liner that stays on my waterline, but at least MAC's didn't smudge on my upper lid.

Pressed Powders -Too Faced - Absolutely Invisible

I believe I paid like 30 bucks for this and if I could find my misplaced Sephora receipt it would sooooo be going back! I have very, very, very oily skin and this does nothing more for it than a cheap drugstore brand would. I love the way it makes my skin look right after application, heck I even like the smell, but within 20 minutes my skin starts making pools of oils. K, maybe not that horrific but it is how I feel my skin looks. You know I just figured that for 30 green ones this would work a whole lot better. My search continues........

Eyeliner -Hourglass - Calligraphy Liquid Eyeliner
rated 2 of 5
normaestrada19 12/8/2010 2:54:00 PM

This is soooo going back. Not so much for it being terrible, but for the price I paid, I expected much more. It is a handy liner and packaging is great to throw in your purse and not have to carry a brush to apply it. I wanted it for quick touch ups on the run, but the thing smudges on me too much for the price of like 32 bucks. With a primer on my lids it has great staying power but on my lower lash line it smudges after an hour, and forget about it even staying a minute in my waterline. Besides there are better alternatives and cheaper ones for my upperlid. I would try those first before splurging on this product.

Lip Treatments -Jack Black - Intense Therapy Lip Balm spf 25

I really, really, really wanted this to work for me....like bad, but alas it didn't. I love the smell of the product and the texture when first put on is great. Since it is not overly glossy, I can still apply lipstick without it dissapearing within minutes. Unfortunately the texture, at least on my lips, change to a waxy unpleasant feeling after a couple minutes.I still perfer my AQUAPHOR lip treatment. Out of everything I have tried it is still the most conditioning on my lips.

Eyeliner -Bare Escentuals - Buxom Insider Eyeliner In Onyx

I am about to bring this product's perfect rating down. Sorry, but this did not work on me at all. In fairness nothing ever stays on my waterline, but surely this would at least make it through the 30 minute mark before giving me racoon eyes, right? Wrong :( This stayed on me no longer than a cheap drug store brand. I knew this would not work on me, but still wanted to be proven wrong. The name for the product is what really got me cuz it made me, for a second, suspend reallity and think this would stay on me. What can I say, I guess I am a hopeless romantic and a wishful, if not delusiona'l thinker when it comes to makeup. I'll tell you what really, really, and I mean really works on my waterline: MAC's Liquidlast liner!! I just discovered it 3 days ago and what can I say other than I am in love, and finally found THE product that proved me wrong. Sometimes tis GOOD to be WRONG :)

Eyeliner -MAC - Liquidlast Liner - Point Black

I cried after this eyeliner stayed in my waterline the entire day!!! Guess what after I cried, k so I more teared up, my eyeliner was still in my waterline!!!!!!!!! Love, love, love this. If needed, I would pay 100 dollars for this HG eyeliner cuz it is the only thing that has ever, and I mean EVAH stayed in my waterline. I have searched high and low and now I have found my one true love other than my husband, of course. I have heard rumors that they may discontinue this product because they now have the superslick liquid eyeliner, but please MAC there is room for both products. I have even contacted MAC to find out if the rumors are true. Unlike most people, I have not had issues with the removal of the product. I am in love ladies! Please don't break my heart MAC by discontinuing my HG eyeliner. I am already starting to tear up and my eyeliner is STILL on!

Mascara -MAC - Opulash
rated 4 of 5
normaestrada19 5/19/2010 12:44:00 AM

I usually wear Blinc Kiss me mascara because it's the only mascara I have EVER used that doesn't smudge and can wear on my lower eyelashes. So if it ain't broke don't fix it, BUT my Blinc mascara is making me go broke, lol. So, I ventured and strayed from my usual and tried MAC's newest mascara, Opulash and I love it. Surprisingly it doesn't smudge, flake or irritate my eyes. Trust me, no one is more shocked than I am this mascara worked for me, considering I don't have the nicest things to say about MAC mascaras. I also don't mind the huge wand and although it's pretty big, I can still manage to use the wand on my lower lashes. Will def re-purchase, considering it's only 14 bucks a pop as opposed to 24 bucks for Blinc. The reviews haven't been great, but I say try it since you can always return it to MAC, just remember to keep your receipt. Who knows maybe you will be pleasantly surprised like I was.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot in Painterly
rated 4 of 5
normaestrada19 4/29/2010 12:49:00 AM

Painterly, oh Painterly, how I love thee. Love this product it's literally like glue for eyeshadow without the texture of glue. Goes on smooth and finishes smooth. I, unfortunately, was hoping that it would work as a primer AND base for my eye shadows, but alas my lids are so dang oily it was a no go. You get a huge amount for the price you pay (16.50) that even with daily use, which I do, I think this would last close to a lifetime. In a nutshell I love the texture, love how smooth it makes your eyelid area look, love the very natural color and overall just love, love, love!

Lip Gloss -MAC - pret-a-papier
rated 5 of 5
normaestrada19 4/27/2010 3:58:00 PM

This hands down has to be the stand out color from the pret-a-papier collection. I, at least, have nothing to compare it to in my very vast makeup collection. It is a very pretty reddish-brown/bronze color with sparkle. The color is equally pretty on its own or over plum, bronze, brown and even warm red lipsticks. Most likely will purchase a back up since it's an LE.

Eyeliner -MAC - Technakohl in Graphblack
rated 4 of 5
normaestrada19 4/12/2010 11:10:00 PM

This pencil is easy and practical to carry around with you. To never have to sharpen a pencil, but be as practical as one, than I'm hooked. Granted, I love my fluidline , but tis not very practical to lug around all day because not only do you have a fairly "big" pot to carry around along with a brush to apply, but you need a steadier hand for sure. No, it doesn't stay as long as my fluidline but with the ease of application I don't mind re-applying. Another bonus this product has is that once done you can use for your BACK 2 MAC program, and you can't do that with a pencil!

Highlighters -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle
rated 5 of 5
normaestrada19 4/12/2010 11:03:00 PM

Love this product :) Usually, I would shy away from all that is shiny on my skin (my face is excruciatingly oily), but this gives me a nice glow and makes my oily skin bearable. This product is soooooo multifunctional, you can use it to highlight your cheeks, brow bones, inner corners of the eyes, temples, and even the center of your lips. The price is reasonable for the amount of product you get, and all the uses it has. Like most MAC products, I wish the compact would come with a mirror, and the plastic top be a little bit more sturdy. Overall in love, love, love with this little multifunctional gem!

Makeup Brushes -Too Faced - Flatbuki brush (extra short handle)
rated 5 of 5
normaestrada19 11/15/2009 1:10:00 PM

This is like the mini version of the Too Faced Retractable Kabuki brush, and it's equally as lovely. This is my go to blush brush because it doesn't shed and it's small enough to fit in just about any sized purse. Another nice surprise is that the brush retains the blush color in the brush, so say you forget your blush and need to re-apply just swipe your brush and I can almost give you my word that blush will be deposited to your lovely cheeks. Just like it's big sister counterpart this brush doesn't shed and you can't beat the $12 price tag, quite a steal or at the very least a very good deal, which ever way you look at it.

Makeup Brushes -Too Faced - Retractable Kabuki Brush
rated 5 of 5
normaestrada19 11/15/2009 12:46:00 PM

Love this brush and it's oh so soft. It feels like heaven against your skin. I appreciate the fact that it's retractable and comes with a cap. So many times I have been turned away from purchasing kabuki brushes because they came with no cap. After I purchased this lovely brush I noticed that there are other similar to identical quality to this brush, and much cheaper. One brush that is very comparable is Ecotools Kabuki brush, so check that one out since it is so much cheaper. I cannot see myself purchasing another Kabuki brush for a very long time because this truly is a very durable brush, and did I mention it does not shed!!!!

Mascara -Kiss Me - Kiss Me Mascara
rated 5 of 5
normaestrada19 11/15/2009 12:28:00 PM

I was so skeptical about this product, but my goodness gracious it does deliver what it claims. I was shocked that, just like the product claimed, there were little tubes which wrapped around each lash. Even better for me this mascara did not smudge a bit, even after an intense workout. I never would have thought to wear mascara on my lower lashes because of the issue with racoon eyes. Love this product because it looks really natural and you don't have to worry about constantly looking in the mirror to check for smudges. I naturally have somewhat voluminous and long lashes so the fact that the mascara doesn't provide these things is okay by me. For all the ladies with sparse and short lashes and who don't have issues with smudges, this is probably not the mascara for you. For me though, it's my holy grail.
