Usually I love Nars l/s. Tzigane is: common, boring and completely lacking in personality. Nars should know better than to put out a l/s that is barely on a par with drugstore colors. Shameful!
Lotions/ Creams -Neutrogena - Norwegian Formula Hand Cream
ninanina 12/21/2010 8:11:00 AM
Thee best cream for every part of your body. I actually use this on my face and mostly my lips. It's gentle and just does the job, nothing complicated. I wish all products were like this. No fragrance and that makes it a home run. I only wish it came in a larger, much larger tube.
Lipstick -New York Color - Ultra Moist Lipwear - Ruby
ninanina 12/7/2010 4:43:00 PM
I bought this today because I needed a red l/s quick. It's a blue/red, lustre with some goldish shimmer, shows on me a pinkish/red. I wouldn't re-purchase because it bleeds and is gritty. It's what you get for 99 cents. Not horrible, not great.
Lipstick -Cover Girl - Continuous Color Lipstick in Natural Frost
ninanina 11/28/2010 7:11:00 PM
I saw this color on a woman in SoHo, NY, she was doing a really coral/salmon lip, smokey eye look and it was fantastic. This is a dense lipstick w/no frost, it's just one of those corals from the 60's with a hint of warm pink in it...it's a "look" lippie in that it's trendy. Who would have ever guessed that something running around $4 could be a trend setting color. This color would be perfect on any skin tone with a black coat, sweater...it's just a "fun" color!
Lipstick -Clinique - Almost Lipstick - Black Honey
ninanina 11/21/2010 12:55:00 PM
I've never seen a lipstick on someone like this that ages a woman of any age in about 2 swipes. It looks like something red/brown that my grandmother used to wear. Totally unbecoming, I'm not sure why a woman would even want her lips to look this color...baffles me that it's such a big seller, must be hype.
Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst in Soft Rose [DISCONTINUED]
ninanina 11/20/2010 5:29:00 PM
There is far too much brown in this lipstick to make it a classy rose. Revlon has really cheapened their lipsticks in the past few years, maybe it's the way with all d/s cosmetics anymore. This went right back...yuck.
Treatments -Avon - Anew Clinical Expression Line Filler
ninanina 11/8/2010 1:26:00 PM
This works, it really does and I will recommend it highly. It does diminish lines quickly and is cooling, which was/is important to me. I only have a few lines around my mouth and it has done away with them completely within one week. The size is hugh for the price $30 for .5 fl oz. the color is a creamy/beige. I have taken off a lippie or two because the dispenser is horrible, it "shoots" out and far more than you would need in one setting. I will purchase this again, but I'm thinking this will last a long time. Give it a try, it's worth it and feels and seems far more high end than Avon, a company that I am not familiar with, but will keep an eye on for creams, et al from now on.
I didn't want to like this perfume (in the great roller ball) usually I wear Hermes and Guerlain perfume and always orientals, but I got a wiff of this and it reminds me of something from my youth and I like it for a change from the others I wear. What would have made this a home run would have been a bigger kick of gardenia in there, but it's fine for the cold weather. I wouldn't buy it again, it's just a whim for a change. Edit: I dragged this out and rolled it on and something happened that didn't before, it got stuck in the back of my throat if that makes sense. I must have gotten allergic to this and I can't stop coughing and have a nasty headache from it. I took it outside and threw it out. Not good. I had this same reaction to Muglier sp? Angel perfume, it just gets in the back of my throat and that's that. Big yuck! Back to Hermes and Guerlain for me :)
Concealers -Boots - No7 - Instant Radiance Concealer
ninanina 11/6/2010 8:33:00 PM
This is for Radiant Glow #2. I love this concealer because it's light and NOT cakey! This is not for someone with dark circles because it doesn't cover well, it's just for lightening in the corners and under the eyes. I actually like this better than YSL's Touche Eclat becauses it's far more sheer. I'll keep buying this, it's perfect for what I need. The perfect sheer, sheer concealer/highlighter!
Pressed Powders -LORAC - Perfectly Lit Luminizing Powder
ninanina 11/2/2010 9:29:00 AM
The best!! I got this in Radiant, the darker of the 3 (they are all beautiful though)..I am a luminizing woman, I've studied them and gotten to the point where I was wearing various eye shadows (Mac's Naked Lunch)on my face to get the effect until I found this. It takes some practice to get it natural looking but when it's done you will looking beautiful , younger and more healthy, the packaging is gorgeous a lovely silver case. Swirl this on with a lovely big brush and you'll be happy you did. I got 4 of these at Sephora for $7 a true bargain. I'm never without this.
The scent is fantastic, I wish I had a perfume that smelled like this for summer, that's all I can say good about this product, it's oily and from what I can tell would lead to some serious skin problems with me in the future if I kept using them. They are a big NO-NO!
Ok, call me crazy but I love LOVE Naked Lunch soooo much that I often use it as a foundation, yep, it works for me as that, it brightens up my skin, the "shimmer" isn't really that, it's hard to explain, but going over it with a big fat lovely brush after I put it on just makes me look so much better, it's that subtle, it's the perfect neutral that it can be used everywhere. This and Mac's Sophisto l/s are with me always!
This is the best sheer plum lipstick I have ever found. Usually I buy high end products but after a far and wide search for a plum/balm in a stick I found this. It's sheer and makes my lips look healthy with shine and is super easy to apply. The tube is horrible, plastic but for $4 you can't beat it, it's far better than Fresh's Sugar Plum, far far better color, more natural, no brown, no red just pure plum, pefection in a tube!!
Great toner!! This is your go-to toner to remove all make-up and refresh your skin, no matter what type you have. It's not runny, more of a watered down gel (if that makes sense)...it's super cheap in price. Taking off a lippie for the bottle, wish it were glass and not plastic, but I guess for $11 I can't ask for everything. I have two in both bathrooms and use it morning and night and will repurchase.
This is one beautiful lipstick. It's a sheer but complicated in that it has a bit of bronze, rose and just a touch of plum. Because of these 3 it can be worn for warm or cool complexions. It is sheer, so if applying l/s alot bothers you skip it, if not the pay off and the beauty of it are beyond worth it. For the same consistency but a tad more plum Mac's Sophisto is a keeper too, both are HG's for me right now!
