Lipstick -L'Oreal - Colour Juice Stick in Pink Lemonade [DISCONTINUED]

Beautiful color (otherwise it would get a 2), but doesn't have the texture that their Colour Riche line has and doesn't last long at all.

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara
nicolefox_ot 8/12/2007 10:34:00 PM
This had been my HG mascara for over about 2 years. I felt so smart that I was using something that was so cheap - with coupons and sales, I'd spend less than $2. Then I got bored and tried something else and realized that Great Lash is kind of crappy. I think it's just one of those lemming kind of makeups. You're using it and you think it must be good if everyone else is using it. Well it's not, but there are other mascaras that don't cost a ton that are fantastic. Oh, the mascara I replaced it with is Lash Out (L'Oreal) - a few bucks more (on sale), but a far superior product.

Blush -L'Oreal - True Match Superblendable Blush in Baby Blossom
nicolefox_ot 8/10/2007 8:41:00 AM
This color looks like a light baby pink with a little shimmer on my very fair skin. Applies evenly and lasts well. I find the container very easy to sweep the blush onto my brush. I'll be purchasing True Match blush again, but I think I'll try another color for something different.

Powder -L'Oreal - Bare Naturale Powdered Mineral Foundation
nicolefox_ot 8/10/2007 8:34:00 AM
After wearing this for 2 months, I still have mixed feelings about this makeup. I was looking for a TM for the summer, but realized once it got hot and humid the TM didn't last long. CVS was having buy a L'Oreal foundation get a L'Oreal blush free, so I thought I'd try it. I've never used loose powder foundations before. When I first applied it, I thought I was going to return it. The brush was coarse and the makeup felt a little itchy. However, as the days went on and the summer became hotter and more humid, I realized that I've never had a makeup last so long on my face (at least not one like Revlon's Color Stay). And the coverage was quite good (I still need a little concealer) and very natural looking. My skin is very dry, so I don't think this will work for me past the summer. I might buy it again if it were a BOGOF. UPDATE: I tried this again (on a BOGO) as my skin suddenly seems not quite as dry and flakey as it once was and so far I really like this makeup. This works better for me than other powder makeups I've tried: Everyday Minerals (not enough coverage) and BE (seemed to enlarge my pores). I know this is not a true "Mineral Makeup", but it covers very well and lasts all day. I don't know if they've changed the formula a little, because this time around, I don't get that itchy feeling when applying. I only upped the lippies to 4, as the packaging isn't good for traveing.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Eyes Trio - Egyptian Sands [DISCONTINUED]

Best eyeshadow I've ever used. My sister got me hooked on this eye shadow - who knew I'd ever use Wet n' Wild again? Beautiful high pigmented colors, doesn't fade, doesn't get stuck in my eye crease, and apllies smoothly. Great for day or evening. I'll buy this again for sure.

Blush -Clinique - Blushing Blush Powder Blush - Patchwork Pink (LE Spring 2008)
nicolefox_ot 8/8/2007 9:51:00 AM
Received this from my sister who said it was too shimmery on her. I will agree it is very shimmery, but I like a glowing kind of look. Ths color in the pan is beautiful. But when I appy it, I have to put on so many coats that I get more shimmer than color. However, I have found that when I use it over a bronzer, the effect is quite pretty. I started using it over my Milani bronzer, which is very matte. I use the bronzer below my cheek bone and Patchwork PInk on top of my cheekbones and also the apples of my cheeks. I gave it three stars because I am a drugstore makeup whore (DMW?) - I'd never myself spend so much money on makeup.

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Colour Riche in Rose Serenity
nicolefox_ot 8/6/2007 10:36:00 PM
Beautiful light pinky-mauve color (definately on the cool side); however, on me it can look purple'ish if I apply more than one or two coats. Lovely texture - soft, creamy and moisturizing. I probably won't buy this color again, only because there are so many Colour Riche shades to pick from.

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Color Juice in Passion Fruit Squeeze
nicolefox_ot 8/4/2007 7:04:00 AM
Love, Love, Love this CJ! My personal HG gloss. Neutral colored lip glosses usually wash my pale skin out, but this is a perfect neutral for me. On my lips it's a pinky-brown, with hints of mauve. I think this shade would work for cool or warm tones. By the way, for you thirfty girls, I've seen Walmart carry CJ for under $6.

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Color Juice - Strawberry Smoothie
nicolefox_ot 8/3/2007 8:57:00 PM
This is my 3rd CJ. The other 2 I am in love with (that would be Pashion Fruit and Water Melon Crush). This color was awful on me. It was actually lighter than my lip color, completly washing me out. Maybe it's just because I am unsually pale, but whatever the reason I am returning it for another color. Update: So I never did return it and after trying it again a few times I am a convert. Now that it's summer, I've been using it almost daily Getting a little color to my pale face makes the peachy-pink color looks really nice.

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Colour Riche in Toasted Almond
nicolefox_ot 7/30/2007 4:46:00 PM
This review is based on the color of this lippie on me only - I looove the colour riche line, but I can't belive so many people liked this color. It looked very coral on me (I have fair, freckly skin with coolish undertones). However, I gave it to my red-haired, warm-toned skinned sister and it looked beautiful on her. If you look good in very warm colors, I guess this would be for you.

Liquid -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Makeup SPF 17
nicolefox_ot 7/16/2007 9:42:00 AM
I’m really surprised this makeup doesn’t get better reviews. I have been buying it for 3 years and was using it exclusively until this summer when I decided to try a TM for a quick morning routine. I would have given 5 lippies if it also had a SPF. My skin is extremely fair and freckly, but with cool’ish undertones. I use soft ivory, which is a neutral color – I found the warm and cool colors didn’t match my skin tone. I’d say the coverage is medium. Enough coverage so that I don’t need concealer around my nose or under my eyes, but not so much that you can see I’m wearing foundation. The finish is somewhat matte. My skin is extremely dry, and this doesn’t dry out my skin or look flaky. It’s kind of expensive for drugstore; however, I always seeing this makeup on sale and you can sometimes find coupons for L’Oreal too.

Lipstick -Cover Girl - Incrediful Lipstick
nicolefox_ot 7/13/2007 12:11:00 PM
I purchased 2 Incrediful lipsticks with a BYGOF coupon. I will be returning both. Everything about these lipsticks was awful. As soon either was applied, my lips immediately felt dry and I noticed both emphasized any lines/cracks in my lips. Both colors looked awful on me (fair, freckly skin with pink undertones and reddish lips). I purchased Chai Latte and Pillow Pink. The Pillow Pink was the worst by far – a very chalky streaky looking pink. Don’t waste your money on these. I’ll be going back to L’Oreal’s Colour Riche line.

Tinted Moisturizer -Cover Girl - Advanced Radiance Age-Defying Sheer Moisturizing Makeup [DISCONTINUED]
nicolefox_ot 6/11/2007 12:59:00 PM
I picked this TM up about 2 months ago looking for a way to minimize my makeup time for days when I'm not going anywhere, but just want to look nice. Once I started using it, I've used it every day since. I have only used my regular face makeup once (and I didn't think my skin looked as good as it does with this TM). I love this product. It gives a beautiful healthy (but not quite dewey) look. I have very pale, dry skin and the lightest color works well for me. When I am going out and want a little more coverage, I dab on a little concealer under the eyes. I am buying this product again. Update: I stopped using this once we entered Summer and I realized it didn't hold up in the summer heat. I took off one lippie for that. I'll probably try again closer to Fall.
