How about getting a crapload of creamy, light wearing, luminous face power in a really cute box for about $5?! That is all I have to say about that.
Primer/ Corrector -Rimmel - Fix and Perfect Foundation Primer
nakedmannequin 9/14/2008 12:13:00 PM
I would imagine the orange tint would show on a fair complexion, but I didn't have problems with that. This is drying, and does nothing as far as pore appearance. It does not smooth, it does not fix, it definitely does not PERFECT. It reminded me of cheap foundation with poor pigmentation. I will not buy it again.

Sticky and heavy. Into the garbage.
I really want to like Bright Crystal. I'd sprtized it in the mall a couple months ago and thought it was nice, but apparently I didn't do a thorough enough test. My boyfriend ordered me a gift set for and early bday present (3+months early haha...) and I was elated when it arrived yesterday... But... On me... it just smells like a depressing mixture of Clinique Happy and Tommy Girl. Neither of which I am fond of. Something in it makes my throat hurt. The bottle is beautiful though and this stuff lasts FOR EV ER. EDIT: Okay, I've found a good use for this. It's good for layering and makes other scents last a very long time. I've been putting (of all things) JLo Live Luxe on top of it and it's working VERY nicely.
Eyeliner -L'Oreal - HIP Color Truth Cream Eyeliner in Black
nakedmannequin 9/10/2008 11:18:00 PM
I bought this BOGO 50% off today on my lunch hour, got it in the black and violet. I couldn't wait so I tore into the black and applied some before I clocked back in, lol. My only complaint is the packaging. I wish they could have make it so the brush attached some kind of way to the actual liner. But the brush is a little stiff and crazy anyway. But the COLOR....wow. Color truth, for sure. The blackest of black eyeliner... and I'm used to using Hashmi Kajal (RIP, the dog ate it and I've yet to get more from my Pakistani friend...) but it is BLACK. And it doesn't smudge. At all. I applied at roughly 1pm and it's 11:15p and looked freshly applied. Good stuff. Can't wait to use the eggplant tomorrow. EDIT: The eggplant is GORGEOUS. I just used it to tightlight and it looks like I'm nothing but lashes. I'm bumping it to a five.
Great for grandma, not for me. Chemically, WAY too floral in a very unpleasant, musty way. Love the bottle though? EDIT: I have to edit this. I was antique shopping today and found an old LdT bottle, I opened it up to smell it and was not at all jarring or chemically. I actually...liked it. But seeing as how that formulation is long gone...
This is the ONLY scent that have ever given me a headache, not to mention makes me sneeze like crazy. It was one of my first fragrances when I was 12 or so, I think I still have half the bottle in a drawer somewhere...
Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - With Love by Hilary Duff

I'm a pharmacy tech at Walgreens and from time to time they'll throw me in Cosmetics to cover a shift. I don't complain because I spend all day playing with the makeup and spraying the perfumes. I made the mistake of spraying this one. On myself. It smells like vodka when sprayed and dried down into something totally synthetic and immature. If there is a signature fragrance for promiscuous teeny boppers, this must be it... because is smells like a drunken sorority. Ugh. It gets one lippie because the bottle is sort of pretty. Top notes: Vodka Heart notes: Alpha Theta Kappa bathroom cleaner. Base notes: imitation vanilla extract.
!!! I bought the 2oz bottle for $11 at the grocery store and thought, "This better be worth it." I just used it in my hair for the first time and blowdried... omg, I might not have to use a straightener except to touch it up! I can't freakin' believe it... my hair is very wavy and curly and unruly and right now it's laying flat and smooth and shiny... Let's see what the flat iron does to make this even better... Edit.... putting this on wet hair does nothing. I have to wait until my hair is just barely damp for it to make much of a difference. it's not changing my rating, but I overestimated the tenacity of it, I guess...
Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - Designer Skin - Spellbound

This is my favorite tanning lotion. I used to work in at a salon that my boyfriend's cousin owns, so I've tried an endless variety of tanning lotions and this one always prevails. The retail price is about $60 but I get it at cost for around $30. It's a splurge, but I've yet to find anything comparable. The silicone base soaks into your skin and moisturizes and is NEVER greasy. I find that even after being in the bed, you don't sweat as much with this lotion. It's got great never-streaky bronzers. I've never had stained nails or dark spots with this. It's got the right amount of DHA in it. Also... the smell... a LOT like Ralph Lauren Ralph and the most fantastic part is that it lingers throughout your tanning session and after you get out of the bed, you smell like the LOTION, not burning flesh. All in all, great product.
Primer/ Corrector -Bare Escentuals - Bare Vitamins Skin Rever Upper
nakedmannequin 9/9/2008 11:33:00 AM
I really like this product and find that is has just enough salicylic acid to prevent breakouts without drying, and just enough moisture without becoming greasy. Very nice under makeup, very nice on it's own.
Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Extra Virgin Olive Oil
nakedmannequin 9/9/2008 11:24:00 AM
The best product in the house. I go through so much damn EVOO between cooking and beauty treatments I should buy stock in it. Weekly, I warm it up and pour it on my hair, cover it with a shower cap and let it sit 30 minutes before shampooing. Every other day, I mix it with sugar and use it as a scrub in the shower. Great moisturizer for bare legs if you really want the sheen and shine. I don't use it on my face except for the sugar scrub, and even then, I use a follow up cleanser. The smell... not that great, but is just now hit me... what about mixing it with an essential oil for a nicer fragrance? We shall see...

Total HG, and the only one, I believe. I've been using them for years and will always continue to repurchase.
Clinique Happy, but less annoying! Nice in moderation, for a change, for casual days in the summer.
Lotions/ Creams -Eucerin - Aquaphor Healing Ointment
nakedmannequin 9/9/2008 11:13:00 AM
My boyfriend and I use this on new tattoos and it does a REMARKABLE job if keeping in moisture and speeding up the healing process. You really only have to apply it 2 or 3 times a day and very sparingly because it coats well and holds in moisture. I also use this on my heels when they are dry and cracked and it usually heals them over night.
