Treatments (Eye) -Garnier - Skin Renew Anti-Puff Eye Roller
misspris26 7/27/2011 7:46:00 PM
I wanted to like this for several reasons: it's adorable, you apply it with a cute roller, it smells great, and it feels sooo refreshing! I even tried keeping it in the fridge and applying it while I got my morning coffee (again, very soothing). But....as much as I hate to admit it, this does nothing for me! I recently started taking claritan daily (my bags/circles were due to allergies) and that has been a God send!
My fave LUSH face mask. It's blueberry heaven!! The scent alone is divine!! It's freshly made and you can't get these online, only the LUSH store becuase they stay in the fridge. This mask has some good clays for pore cleansing. I have actually driven to a mall 2 hrs away (when there are several close to me) JUST to get this mask (and ok, raid the whole store while I am there lol)
This is what you wash your hair with in heaven. I swear. Smells AH-MAZING! If you are not familiar with Lush's solid shampoo bars, you must get acquainted asap! You rub it right down your part and directly on your hair for a rich lather and pleasant aromatherapy experience! This leaves your scalp clean and your hair lovely! This is my fave shampoo bar.
I love karma soap!! It's a glycerin soap that is very silky, has a strong, lasting scent that is amazing!! My only complaint is that they custom cut the soap for you creating hard edges. I wish you could get this smooth and round like a bar of Dove!
I don't understand why anyone would want to smell EXACTLY like Lemon Pledge furniture polish! Glad I was given a sample from Sephora and didn't actually buy this or anything!
Good grief! Awful. I used this on my mother. It was runny, smelly and the color was "so so" at best. If it's a foam you are interetsed in please try the John Freida foam....that is a luxurious, thick, mess-free mousse that smells LOVELY and not chemically AT ALL! I used the JF on my 17 yr old daughter. My mother also said her scalp itched and burned while my daughter said her scalp felt fine. My daughters color turned out beautiful as well. All foams are NOT created equal.
My 17 year old daughter (a naturally dirty blonde but blonde from the sun and beach) wanted to go a shade lighter with her roots so we tried this. It is neat, smells great and the color turned out very nice and not brassy. It is truly mess free, the mousse is thick and easy to apply. I was impressed by the generous tube of conditioner you get as well (NOT the little ketchup-packet sized portion!). A few days later I used the new Foam color by Nice and Easy on my mother and it stank, was runny and a terrible mess! The color wasn't that great either. And, of course, the ketchup packet conditioner! So fyi...all foams are NOT created equal!
Foundations -Revlon - ColorStay Mineral Mousse Makeup

I adore this fx so much that I panicked when I heard it was DC'ed and ran out to CVS to stock up!! I have oily, acne prone skin plus I live in 100% humidity land of Florida....I also work as an ER nurse (stressful 12 hr shifts and often can't touch up or worry about my MU). This fx holds up for 12 hrs, lasts thru sweat soaking exercise sessions yet washes off like a dream (unlike original Colorstay). I apply it with a sponge wedge, it sinks into my skin. It's a mousse texture just like it claims to be. Very sheer coverage so it's not a great choice if you have bad skin or a lot to hide and it looks cakey if you over apply. What I love so much is that once it's on and I powder over it to set, it feels like skin! Not make-up! I feel like I just have fresh, clean, matte skin! My face does not feel tacky to the touch, nor does this transfer off easily. Blush goes on perfectly over top. This stays matte nearly all day and I truly think it's helped my skin, zero breakouts! I use 3 colors and they are AMAZING, no pink, yellow or orange tones like you usually run into. #30 is for winter, #40 is my usual and #50 is for when I am tan (I don't tan my face but when my body gets color I up my foundation color a little) I sometimes mix them too. Fabulous!!
Sorry to be a downer but this is such an ordinary product. Pros are that it's a very fine mist so you can evenly distribute the product. Another pro is that it's a spray, period. This is really just the spray version of any basic silicone serum (thought most spray out too heavy). All in all I found this to be a bit greasy and it did weight my hair down a bit. It worked ok if applied to damp hair but sorta awful if used on dry hair. I gave it to one of my teen daughters and she wasn't impressed either.
Moisturizers -Garnier - Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream

I bought this for my 14 year old and tried it several times. Wow, is it lovely! Smells great, absorbs wonderfully and no breakouts for her (or me). Great find! I recently had to get myself a jar. I can't say that it has any sort of "magic" ingredients (no retinol, etc) but my Gawd, it's such a pleasurable experience to use! It's a cool, pale minty green, see-through gel that smells lightly of cucumber - just VERY fresh. I can't get enough of the smell! UPDATE: I am ADDICTED to this, the smell, the feel....I just wish it had better ingredients, I mean it has no pore cloggers but I wish it had something exciting like niacinamide or squalene or hyaluronic acid...maybe vit C...anything good!! lol and no alcohol. But I am hooked regardless.
Notice that this foundation only has a few ingredients, I like that! And talk about a pore-less finish! So light and lovely!!! This looks like you have NO makeup on. Literally. Like the skin in the magazine ads. Like air brushed skin. Feels great. Super matte finish BUT not that fake, awful matte. Don't even need powder to set but I always set with powder. Nice coverage (you can make it light or whatever, it's buildable). I apply this with Lancome's foundation brush. Unreal. FYI, do NOT use this if you have flakey skin, please exfoliate first. I bought this on a whim, not even needing a foundation and I expected to return it. Boy, was I wrong! Blows all the dept store stuff away! My "go-to" foundation has been Revlon Color Stay for years (alternating between that and their mineral mousse as well as a few from Lancome). I have oily, break out prone skin. I was amazed by this. It's actually FUN to apply, it's literally a souffle that disappears into your skin. Try it! FYI: The color appears much darker in the jar, the fx also looks darker on your finger until you literally smooth it out. I use creamy natural and when I put the first dab on my face, it looks WAY darker than my face. Then once I smooth it over my skin, it looks different and to be honest I should go a smidge darker! Update: This leaves a gorgeous finish but just doesn't last 12 hrs like I need it to. I also have to blot alot. Still great so I just blot! I have to say even the cute jar with the hot pink lid makes me happy!
This is ingredible!! I asked my boss (we are ER nurses, mind you - very grueling to nails) how her nails look perfect, chip free and shiny like glass for days on end. She told me about this top coat and then I recalled how I had seen it talked about on MUA. I painted on 2 coats of a nailpolish (one that is which is usually kind of gummy and takes forever to dry might I add). I then slicked this right onto my soaking wet nails and within 10 minutes I could even press on my nails real hard - no fingerprints or dents! I went to BED *gasp* 30 minutes later and my nails look AMAZING!! They feel super hard and I can't believe how they look! This will change that dredged "oh darn I have to redo my nails and not touch anything". No more! Just had to share! UPDATE: Sally Hanson Insta-Dry Anti-Chip Top Coat is even better!!
Liquid -Lancome - Photogenic Lumessence Light Mastering & Line-Smoothing Makeup
misspris26 11/26/2010 6:42:00 PM
First of all this line has decent color selection (bisque 2 is a perfect match for me). The light reflecting pigments in this fx do add a very luminous glow. It goes on like silk, blends perfectly and comes in a pump. My favorite thing about this foundation is that it looks like *real* skin!! Not a "made-up" face! Just glowing skin!!
Skincare - Face -Neutrogena - Ageless Intensives Deep Wrinkle Moisture Night

This is what replaced the Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle....it's great! I like it just as much. See my review on the original.
Treatments -Avalon Organics Botanicals - Vitamin C Vitality Facial Serum
misspris26 9/22/2010 8:24:00 AM
This is my favorite Vit C serum. (I was told it is stable, fyi). This has a slight smell of oranges, sinks right into the skin and does not ball up under sunscreen or makeup. It's lovely and my skin looks brighter and fresher. What's even better is that you can pick it up at Walgreens for about $20. The last Vit C serum I had was ordered online and was $50....it balled up!
