Eye Shadow -Red Earth Cosmetics - Eyeshadow
rated 5 of 5

I would repurchase these over and over and over again. I am very, very impressed with Red Earth eyeshadow (and their "secret potion" - my HG highlighter of all time). It's soooo soft, goes on flawlessly and very pigmented. Has great staying power and is cheap (at least in Canada). I bought a few colours at a sample sale for a bit over $2 each, and will get this in every colour available next time I go! Incredible shadows, love love love them. Really nothing bad to say about them. At all.

Hair -Unlisted Brand - Unrefined Shea Butter
rated 5 of 5
missglowstick 12/23/2009 9:49:00 PM

I was skeptical at first - shea butter on my face? But won't it break me out? It did. Because I was slathering it on everyday and that was too much for my face to take. However, when I started doing it as a weekly nighttime ritual, my skin significantly improved - I woke up with glowy, soft, CLEAR skin the next morning and no flakies (not even in the winter months!). This is also fabulous for stretch marks and dry patches..skin drinks it up like nothing else and it truly makes a difference. Definitely a versatile, worthy purchase. Will repurchase for sure when I run out (but since I use so little, that won't be soon :))

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - HIP Jelly Balm [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
missglowstick 12/23/2009 9:46:00 PM

I got this in Savory and I LOVE it. I am not a big fan of gloss AT ALL (maily due to stickiness), but this is not sticky, super moisturizing, smells yummy and has nice sheer colours (not high pigment colour in my opinion, but I don't care). This is fabulous for those who don't like to wear much on their lips or hate the feeling of gloss. The only con is the truly horrid finger-in-jar application, but the product is fantastic so I'm willing to overlook that. Will definitely purchase again when this runs out!

Fragrances -Aquolina - Pink Sugar
rated 2 of 5
missglowstick 12/17/2009 2:05:00 PM

If this perfume was edible, I'd eat it in a second. However, it's not, and actually wearing it on my skin seems an impossible feat for someone who stays away from vanilla at all costs. It is SO sweet...perhaps the sweetest fragrance I've ever smelled. Like the reviewers below said - sickeningly sweet. Although I would never wear this or buy this, I have to admit that it smells pretty yummy and for those that can handle the sweetness and tart-ness of this, more power to ya! :)

Blush -NARS - Torrid
rated 5 of 5
missglowstick 12/16/2009 8:50:00 PM

I received this in a swap and was a little thrown back by how similar it looked to my NARS Orgasm in the pan. But! It's much, much better than Orgasm...way prettier, bolder and more flattering. It's looks great as a pop of color on my super pale (NW10) skin without being overbearingly clownish. But also very buildable - I have to use a light hand with this! The shimmer is great too (I love all things glowy) and more subtle than the shimmer in Orgasm. Overall, quite pleased with Torrid! :)

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush
rated 3 of 5
missglowstick 11/23/2009 1:29:00 PM

I was so excited to try the overhyped NARS Orgasm, so I went and bought it. Weellllll...it's a decent blush. I actually LIKE the shimmer. I'm a highlighter fanatic and since this blush is so shimmery, I don't even have to use highlighter to get the "glowy" look. The color is okay, nothing overly special or gorgeous. Definitely not as great as I thought it would be. Not super impressed and probably wouldn't repurchase. But overall, not bad..

Moisturizers -Philosophy - Hope in a Jar - for all skin types
rated 3 of 5
missglowstick 10/29/2009 11:04:00 PM

First of all, this smells absolutely disgusting. I can tolerate most "herbal" or "medicinal" smells, but this is just AWFUL. However, the moisturizer is decent. It's not as thick as I thought it would be - it's actually quite thin - and it absorbs into the skin fast. It does a pretty good job of keeping the skin comfortably moisturized, but nothing extraordinary. I've been using it for a few days, and so far - no breakouts. But we'll see. I don't think I'd repurchase just because of the horrible smell and the fact that this moisturizer is really nothing special.

Blush -Smashbox - Fusion Soft Lights & Brush Set - Blushing Pink (BCA)
rated 5 of 5
missglowstick 10/29/2009 8:22:00 PM

This is not only a GREAT deal, but an incredible product. The brush is flawless, and the blush is equally good. It gives a perfect, subtle pop of pink on my very pale (N15) skin that is glowy and natural looking, not over the top at all. However, it's definitely buildable, so if you wanted it super bright bubble gum pink, you could do that too. And how can you go wrong with BCA items? :)

Makeup Brushes -Smashbox - Face and Body Brush #19
rated 5 of 5
missglowstick 10/29/2009 8:13:00 PM

I LOVE THIS BRUSH! Seriously. I use a #19 for applying powder, blush and bronzer and it does an amazing job. By far, my favourite, most versatile face brush. It is very soft and fluffy and I've had no problems with shedding at all. The bristles are densely packed and give the most seamless application of powder makeup (which is what I use it for.) Definitely a great brush, would repurchase!

Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Photo Finish Primer
rated 3 of 5
missglowstick 10/29/2009 8:09:00 PM

I really don't see what's so great about this primer. It's a regular foundation primer (which I usually don't use anyway). It does what every other foundation primer does, and honestly, I don't think it's worth the money. I wouldn't repurchase just because I think there are better/cheaper alternatives.

Foundations -Elizabeth Arden - Flawless Finish - Mousse Makeup
rated 4 of 5
missglowstick 10/29/2009 12:43:00 PM

This is a good light coverage foundation. It's a mousse, and it goes on skin very smoothly and lightly. Doesn't cake, lasts all day and definitely buildable coverage. It lasted me quite a long time, and I MIGHT repurchase (but probably not because there are better foundations for me out there).

Liquid -Elizabeth Arden - Flawless Finish Radiant Moisture Makeup SPF 8
rated 2 of 5
missglowstick 10/29/2009 12:39:00 PM

I am not a huge fan of this foundation. It's just "okay" in my opinion, and "okay" is not worth the price tag. It's supposed to be a light/med coverage foundation, but on me, it's a little too heavy of a coverage. It's not "glowy" at all, but does make my skin look oilier than it really is. I could also not find a color match for my very pale (N15) skin. Would not repurchase.

Fragrances -Chanel - No.5
rated 1 of 5
missglowstick 10/28/2009 10:13:00 PM

I can smell Chanel No.5 on anyone. And this is not a good thing, because I think it is one of the most horrible smelling fragrances out there. It's a shame, because it's so classic and who WOULDN'T want to love it? But I feel like the smell alone could kill small animals. It's VERY strong, heavy and unpleasant. Will NEVER purchase this (at least not for myself.)

Liquid -NARS - Sheer Glow Foundation
rated 5 of 5
missglowstick 10/28/2009 6:08:00 PM

I first tried NARS Sheer Glow when I discovered that I'm running out of foundation and the thought of going bare-faced terrified me. So I went on a sample binge and got little containers of Sheer Glow in Siberia and Gobi. Siberia is a perfect match for me, but I can get away with Gobi as well. Not only is the color match flawless on my skin, the foundation itself is AMAZING. It's a light/medium coverage which is perfect for me, since I just have some discoloration and maybe the occasional blemish. It leaves a very smooth, natural, glowy finish and doesn't budge all day. Definite HG. A little pricey, though. But well worth it!
