Eye Shadow -MAC - Pigment in Tan
rated 5 of 5

I really believe that Tan Pigment is the flesh-toned bra of the makeup world, it’s not too exciting, but everyone should have one. One of my favorite combinations is Vanilla Pigment all over the lid and brow and then a few swipes of Tan Pigment all over the lid below the crease and right under the lower lash line finished off with a couple layers of brown mascara and a pretty pink or coral lip. This is a very light smokey eye look for the daytime. I wear this look to the office and even to Sunday brunches and it’s never too harsh. I’m a NW20 so Tan shows up just fine on my lids. I’ve also used Tan as body shimmer in a crunch and it worked like a charm there too. I’m pretty curious how this shade would look on my toes in the summer so I might give that a try next. Anyway, I’ve been using this piggie like a madwoman and have barely made a dent, so I don’t think I would need to repurchase, but if I ever run out or spill it, I’m definitely getting more!!

Lipstick -MAC - Fresh Buzz
rated 5 of 5
missdaisy 3/27/2006 1:07:00 PM

I seriously LOVE LOVE LOVE this color. One of my very favorite MAC lippies of all time!! This is a light pink with golden metallic duochrome that looks kind of bizarre and frosty by itself, but with any pink lipgloss over it, it becomes the most flattering lovely 3-dimensional lip color. My favorite choice to wear over Fresh Buzz is Coquettish Clarice tinted lip conditioner, but I’ve used other shades of Lychee Luxe and Wonderstruck Lipglasses or just a dab of lip balm. I may have to get a few backups of this baby soon, before it’s gone for good.

Lipstick -MAC - Frost - Angel
rated 5 of 5

I am such a fan of this color. It’s truly the perfect bubblegum pink for adults. I am a NW20 with brown hair and brown eyes and with a bit of bronzer or a tan, this is sooo flattering. I love this with a heavy eye for nights out or a well-defined eye for daytime of at the office. This is one of the most brightening colors ever!! The consistency is frosty so it’s a bit drying so just swipe on a bit of lip balm under it and my lips stay soft all day. I will keep buying this shade as long as MAC keeps making it.

Lipstick -MAC - Sharp Beige - Deneuve Collection
rated 3 of 5
missdaisy 3/27/2006 12:39:00 PM

This is a nude pink that has a slightly brownish tint to it if worn directly on the lips with no base. I like to put a touch of creamy concealer under this and it really gives me a nice beigey-pink nude lip. I must confess it’s not the most flattering shade I own, so I probably wouldn’t repurchase, but that’s not to say that on the right person it wouldn’t be gorgeous.

Lipstick -MAC - Pink Maribu
rated 3 of 5
missdaisy 3/27/2006 12:30:00 PM

This fun and frosty rosy pink is just so pretty in the tube, but just a tad too bright on my lips. I’ve been wearing it toned down with a touch of creamy concealer over it. At first I found this shade drying and gritty, but a little lip balm under the lipstick helps with that. This shade is very brightening and lovely on, but it’s been pretty much regulated to “night’s out” lipstick instead of being an every day shade. I guess it’s a novelty color for me.

Blush -MAC - Blushcreme Pearl Blossoming
rated 5 of 5
missdaisy 3/12/2006 5:50:00 PM

I absolutely adore this blush and wear it almost daily!! When Culturebloom came out I initially went to get Sweet William since the color looked like such a pretty cool pink, but was disappointed with the way it looked so cold and lifeless on my NW20 skin. Then, since I still wanted to get a crème blush, I tried Blossoming and haven’t looked back since. I use the BE Heavenly Face brush for the smoothest application and haven’t had any problems with this blush being too sparkly at all. This lovely coral color has a wonderful sheen which brings out what looks like an inner glow from my cheeks. I thought that I only love it because it looks so good with fair skin, but I just came back from Miami and have a tan and now it looks even better! I just cannot go wrong with this blush. Love it.

Polishes -Essie - Au Natural
rated 4 of 5
missdaisy 2/18/2006 11:21:00 AM

Without question this is my go-to shade for a nude finish. I have a fair complexion with pink undertones and don’t have the patience to be a slave to my nails so this is pretty close to an HG for me. Seriously, I can’t really be bothered with getting manicures weekly, so this is a polish I can do myself and leave on for a few days and not think about it chipping or peeling. It just always looks flawless. This is exactly what twistygirl says below: Foundation for Nails. Not a bad tagline either ;-) Oh, just a note, it does look rather grey in the bottle, but doesn’t go on that way at all. However, the longer you leave it on your nails, the grayer it gets, which is why it lost a lippie.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Lovely Lily Pigment
rated 5 of 5
missdaisy 2/18/2006 11:04:00 AM

Another winner from a great collection. Lingerie was one of the better collections for my coloring (NW20) and lifestyle from MAC in awhile. Lily is a gorgeous lavender shade with a slight pink iridescence. I have worn this both wet all over my lids, crease and lower lash line on nights out and then dry and sheered on just my lids out with Goldenaire to highlight to the office. I get compliments all the time on it and have given samples to friends who are now obsessed with it too. I’m sure I have worn this more than any of my other pigments in the month or so since I’ve had this one. So glad I got it.

Palettes -Stila - Landing Gear Set
rated 1 of 5
missdaisy 1/13/2006 12:40:00 PM

I bought the Landing Gear set the other day at Sephora thinking this is a great deal and a good gift for someone. I took it home to check it out thinking maybe I would get another one for myself too. Well, it’s going right back to Sephora today. I would never in a million years give someone a gift of this sub-par quality. The packaging is cheap, tacky, childish and pitiful. The colors are pretty, but the quality of the eyeshadows is crap. This is obviously not meant for adult women, but tweens and teens. No offense to younger girls, but this is something I would get (and love) in high school, not as a grown woman. It’s not even that cute as a collectible. If this is the future of Stila, it’s pretty sad.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Goldenaire pigment
rated 4 of 5
missdaisy 1/3/2006 1:16:00 PM

Goldenaire is beautiful. Really, it’s just the prettiest light rosy/champagne color. It’s very close to, or should I say almost identical to Deckchair, only Goldenaire is slightly more pink on the skin. If you missed Deckchair or are a collector, obviously Goldenaire is not to be missed, but if you already have DC, you could easily skip this (which is why I took off 1 lippie). Pretty when mixed with either Rose or Melon pigment for a soft eye. I also paired this with Chocolate Brown in a smoky eye variation with loads of brown mascara for a night out recently and got a ton of compliments. I have yet to try this together with Lovely Lily, the other pigment from the recent Lingerie collection, but I’m sure they will look..well lovely. :-)

Eyeliner -MAC - Grey Utility Powerpoint
rated 4 of 5
missdaisy 1/3/2006 12:40:00 PM

I love this color and I love the consistency of this med-dark grey eyeliner. The smudge factor is actually one of the best things about this Powerpoint. The problem for me is that I haven’t really been wearing eyeliner daily in the past months and I probably won’t be wearing it this spring either b/c of the overwhelming “natural” trend in makeup. However, for certain looks, like a smudgy or smoky eye, this works wonders. I’ve swiped the pencil along the lash line and quickly followed-up with a smudge brush, feathering the line for a just the slightest soft definition to a dark eye. This is a nighttime liner for me. Good to have in the arsenal, but not for everyday wear.

Lipstick -MAC - Body Suit
rated 4 of 5
missdaisy 1/3/2006 12:28:00 PM

This is a nice flattering pinky-mauve ultra-nude lippie from the recent Lingerie collection. This shade is less pink than other nude shades that I love so much from MAC, namely Hue and Fabby, and more pink than High Tea. It really works very nicely with the rest of the collection, especially with of Corset lipglass over it and I do like the shade very much. However, I can certainly live without it, and I agree that it will be closely duplicated by MAC in the near future, so don’t freak out if you didn’t (or do not plan to) get it. I did take off a lippie, b/c like most MAC lipsticks, it tends to dry out my lips if I don’t put something under or over it.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Flirty Number
rated 4 of 5
missdaisy 1/3/2006 12:12:00 PM

I bought this eyeshadow along with Sunday Best from the Lingerie collection. The “muddy plum” description is a fair one, but I also notice that in certain lighting, there is a pewter-like appearance from Flirty Number as well. I have fair skin and brown eyes and this works so well on me. One of the best things about this particular frosty shade is that while it’s pigmented, but very sheer as well. One layer produces a very soft, plumy, crease-defining color, but a few layers and you have the perfect smoky eye. This makes my brown eyes really pop! If you have fair skin and brown eyes, give this color a second look.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Sunday Best
rated 5 of 5
missdaisy 1/3/2006 11:58:00 AM

Sunday Best is an iridescent pale pink with a slight ivory or possibly grayish hue (depending on the lighting) when it’s on the lid. This shade is one of my favorite pieces from the Lingerie collection. I have fair skin and this e/s just looks so pretty and feminine, but with a slight edge. This shade is perfect for the natural look in makeup that will be huge for spring 2006. I also pair this with Flirty Number (also a frost) from the same collection, but it can be worn alone or as just a wash under a more colorful eye. If you have fair skin, this is a shade not to be missed!!

Lip Gloss -Becca - Glossy Lip Tint
rated 3 of 5
missdaisy 11/23/2005 2:22:00 PM

The Glossy Lip Tints are just that, tints. They have very little pigment and just add the slightest hue to your lips. However, they have a wonderful silky, completely luxurious feel on the lips and are not tacky at all. Flirtini, a sheer cool pink and Sangria, a sheer nude rose are my favorites. If they were slightly less sheer it would be worth it to get more colors. Although I have to say Caipirinha looks like a really pretty shade, so I may have to try that one also…
