Fragrances -Coty - Pulse EDP by Beyonce
magnifiquee 11/29/2012 12:57:00 PM
I know that all fragrances smell different on different people because this does not sit well on my mother or sister but it smells lovely on myself and I get tons of compliments whenever I wear this. It has a nice citrusy smell once you spray it on and it fades into a nice vanilla smell. It is light and feminine and perfect for the spring and summer time, I wouldn't use this as a winter or fall scent but I definitely like this. It isn't that expensive either thank god since perfumes are so overpriced now. My only gripe about this perfume is the packaging, the lid falls off very easily and the bottle is really chunky and unbalanced so it falls over a lot and isn't that great for travelling, but I did get a small travel bottle for a reason lol. I would recommend this if you like citrusy scents.

Eyeliner -Sephora - Liquid Eyeliner
magnifiquee 11/28/2012 1:38:00 PM
I can't find the glitter liquid liner so I'll just review it here because it is esentially the same thing just with glitter lol. I went into my Sephora and wanted to try out their liquid liners because I thought their pencil liners were decent so why wouldn't liquid be? Ugh I was so wrong! It barely shows up on your eyelid unless you're wearing an eyeshadow and well I just wanted to wear it on its own. Oh well, I wasted $15 on this and will not buy it again. I'll go back to my gel liners lol

Palettes -Too Faced - Smokey Eye Collection
magnifiquee 11/28/2012 1:31:00 PM
I usually only buy Too Faced face products but this is the first eyeshadow purchase I have made. I am really pleased with their eyeshadows. First off, they are so freaking pigmented it is ridiculous! They are gorgeous, vibrant, long lasting and very easy to blend. I love that they have little instructional cards in them to give you ideas for different looks, that is definitely a plus for someone who is just starting off with makeup. Also the packaging is gorgeous and sturdy, very chic. Some of the cons about this is that it is SO expensive in Canada, one of the palettes is $46 compared to the $38 it is in America which is really unfair because usually it's only a couple of dollars difference in other products in the US. Anyway, it's alright since I don't think I will ever repurchase this palette since sooo little goes such a long way and I probably will never hit pan with any of the shadows ever. I am excited that Too Faced has such beautiful shadows and I will definitely be checking out other shadows by them.

Primer/ Corrector -Too Faced - Primed & Poreless Skin Smoothing Face Primer
magnifiquee 11/28/2012 1:09:00 PM
This is a really lovely primer, Too Faced never fails on making the best cruelty free makeup and tools. It is very expensive for the amount you get $38CAD for 1oz of product. But the plus side is that you don't need to use that much at all. It glides on beautifully and gives you a nice clean slate for your foundation. It has no strong scent which is a plus and does not break me out at all. It makes your face super silky and keeps your foundation on ALL day and I work in a hot and humid kitchen and my face makeup still stays on like it did in the morning. It has great shine control and the packaging is super cute, but what else do you expect from Too Faced? I would definitely buy this again and recommend it to anyone who wants a really good quality primer.

Primer/ Corrector -Too Faced - Primed and Poreless SPF20 Bronze Tint Skin Smoothing Face Primer
magnifiquee 11/28/2012 1:01:00 PM
I love this primer but I only really use it in the summer because I think the tint is too much for the fall and winter time. It is $38 CAD which is extremely pricy for a 1oz bottle but a little bit goes a very long way with this product. It glides on the skin beautifully and as it says in the name it does reduce pore size which is amazing. It controls most of the shine I get in the summer time and leaves me with a beautiful tint to my skin, I look so sunkissed with it especially when I pair it with some bronzer. It keeps my foundation put all day so that is a really big plus since I get really shiny or sweaty when I'm out and about in the summer time. I like the packaging for the most part but I'm worried about when I only have a little bit left and how I will manage to get the rest of it out, I might just cut the bottle open lol but that's pretty unsanitary. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants that lovely sunkissed look and wants to tone down on makeup use in the summer because this also has light coverage so you don't even need to use foundation if you want :)

Eye Shadow -MAC - Wedge Eyeshadow
magnifiquee 11/28/2012 12:56:00 PM
I was looking for soft brown by MAC but my MAC counter was sold out of it so I asked the MUA there what would be a good alternative until I can come back and buy it and she suggested this. Now it's not as dark as I wanted but this is a really great shadow for neutral looks and to blur out harsh edges. It's also a great day time contour shadow it's very subtle and blends beautifully. This is a great light brown colour that would go great with lighter to medium skin tones. I will definitely buy this again if I ever run out, which I don't think I will because you don't even need to use that much to get it to show up.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Toasted
magnifiquee 11/28/2012 12:37:00 PM
Oh toasted, how I love you so. I can't really comment on the price of this individual shadow since I got it with my Naked Palette but I checked the website and it is around $22 CAD which is only a few dollars more expensive than an eyeshadow from MAC. So it really isn't too bad, but still a bit pricy for a university student like me haha. Anyway, this shade is absolutely GORGEOUS, I am more of an olive skin tone and this looks so sultry and sexy with my eyes and skin colour. I love to pair it up with browns (buck by UD or wedge by MAC) or reddish plum colours like cranberry by MAC. It really brings out the brown in my eyes too and it is very wearable throughout the day. It has little to no fallout so that is definitely a plus. It is very pigmented so you don't even need to use that much so this will definitely last you a long time. The UD eyehshadow pots are really cute and the packaging is pretty sturdy and not too bulky. This shadow is definitely worth the money, get it!!

Eye Shadow -NYX - Jumbo Eye Shadow Pencil - Milk
magnifiquee 11/28/2012 12:31:00 PM
After reading great reviews about this product I decided to try it out for myself. I usually don't use bases because I think my primer does a pretty good job of keeping my shadows nice and bright but wow this really does make a difference! It is pretty cheap for the amount of product you get because honestly you're not even using that much when you apply this. Ir was $5.99 CAD so I'm okay with the price. The packaging is okay though, you need to buy a special sharpener for this because the pencil is huuuge and I don't really like the lid because if you push it down too much it cracks, blah. So I'm planning on just depotting this pencil so I can use it without having to sharpen it ever. I tested this under MAC's electric eel and it really made the blue pop but if you don't use a primer with this it WILL crease, or maybe that's just because my eyelids are oily. Anyway I used UDPP under it and it was perfect. :) I don't really recommend using this as a waterline pencil because it transfers onto the bottom lashes too easily and it looks super sloppy. But for the price, amount of product you get and lasting power this is definitely a great buy for anyone. :)

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - 8-pan Palette "Comfort Zone"
magnifiquee 11/27/2012 1:23:00 PM
I have never tried Wet 'n' Wild eyeshadows before because I'm not really into drug store eyeshadows but this stuff is AMAZING! I am so pleasantly surprised by it. The palette cost around $4.99CAD which is dirt cheap for an eyeshadow palette of this quality. The packaging is alright I feel like the lid is fragile and will break in a purse so that's my only negative point about this palette. The quality of the shadows is amazing for the price, they are very pigmented and have very little fallout which is awesome. They're easy to blend and there are so many combinations that are possible with these colours. This is a great day time to night time palette and if you're just starting out with makeup and don't want to splurge on higher end products then this is just for you.:)

Mascara -Tarte - Lights Camera Lashes
magnifiquee 11/27/2012 1:13:00 PM
Wow, I did not expect to love this mascara as much as I do. I can't really comment on the price because it came as a free sample with a tarte eyelash curler I purchased in Sephora. But the regular price for this mascara is $25 so it's kind of pricy but not too bad for a higher end product. And honestly it is worth the extra money since tarte tries to stay as natural as they can and do not test on animals, what more could you want in makeup?! The packaging is super cute and easy to store in your purse and makeup kit, it doesn't take up too much space which I like. I like the brush because it is stiff and has small bristles so it's easier to get right between the lashes. I love this mascara because it gives me length and it looks SO natural, I love that it looks like I'm not even wearing mascara. But then again I already have really long eyelashes. It holds a curl very well and it doesn't flake or smudge. I will definitely be buying the full sized version of this, I love it and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Falsies
magnifiquee 11/27/2012 1:09:00 PM
I read these reviews before I went out and bought this mascara and I had really high hopes for it. I mean who doesn't want to have an amazing mascara for half the price of a high end one? The price is around $10.50 in Canada but I bought it on sale for $5.99 and I don't really think I'd buy it for the full $10.50 again because I feel that is too expensive for drug store mascara. The packaging of the mascara is in a big chunky purple container which is cute and I like that, so no complaints. The brush is pretty cool though, I like how it bends downwards so it gives a nice coat on my lashes. I feel like this adds great volume and length but it can get clumpy if you don't apply it properly. You can't really put more than 3 coats on or you'll have a huge clumpy mess on your eyes, NOT CUTE! But other than that I would definitely buy this again as an everyday mascara, nothing too dramatic and only if it was on sale again.

Lip Gloss -Rimmel - Vinyl Max
magnifiquee 10/16/2012 2:45:00 PM
I was looking around the drug store to find they had no more NYX lip glosses and they were my usual go to cheap but useful glosses. The lady who worked at the cosmetic counter recommended I try these and wow they are truly amazing! They come in a few beautiful and extremely flattering and wearable colours and the best part is the applicator. It is SO HUGE! I have a big bottom lip so I just use a tiny bit of it there and rub my lips together and it's practically a perfect application. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a beautiful shimmery lipgloss for a great price and an amazing applicator.

Misc Beauty Tools -Revlon - blackhead remover / extractor
magnifiquee 10/16/2012 2:38:00 PM
Honestly I think the people who rated this poorly just did not use it correctly... I used this on a couple of white heads that were really ready to pop and this took them out beautifully and as painlessly as possible. It did not cause skin damage or indentation because well you're not supposed to even press that hard onto your skin! You have to use it when your pimples or blackheads are actually ready to be extracted!! I would buy this again because it works fine and it was really cheap.

Blush -MAC - blushcreme ladyblush
magnifiquee 10/16/2012 2:33:00 PM
I am a newbie with blush because I never really saw a good purpose for it but I decided I wanted to try it out because why not. I went over to my local MAC counter and talked to one of the artists and asked them what was the best for a beginner in blush and she recommended a cream blush and in this colour because it looked like a more natural flush with my skin tone (NC25). I went home and tried this on with an angled blush brush by elf because I felt my duo fibre from MAC was too big for this kind of application on my cheeks and it turned out really beautiful and natural looking! It also makes your skin look dewy and sexy as well. I am now a converted blush lover haha I hope to purchase some powders to play with but I'm really enjoying the creams finish. I will definitely buy this again if I ever run out which will be forever because a little bit of this goes a LONG way. :)

Mascara -Maybelline - Full 'N Soft Mascara
magnifiquee 10/16/2012 2:27:00 PM
Okay, I honestly cannot find this mascara anywhere in Canada or maybe it is just me. I went shopping across the border and after reading multiple reviews about it I decided to get some while I was there. Well, I was pleasantly surprised by a drug store mascara! It works pretty well for lengthening but it doesn't really give me the drama I love. That is totally fine though since I use this as a more casual mascara. My only gripe about it is the formula is so wet I have to roll my mascara brush on the top of the tube to get the excess off and I feel like I'm wasting a lot of the product but it's no big deal since this mascara was so damn cheap in the states like $5! So I will definitely be purchasing this but strictly as a casual going to work or school mascara.
