I dont' find this to be an overly inspiring fragrance, but it's ok. I get a white floral and woody fragrance that is pleasant but nothing special and not overly fantastic lasting power either. I have seen the fragrance notes, but have to say that my nose doesn't pick any of the individual notes - just general white florals. I will keep it as I don't feel that this will offend anyone unless you absolutely slather yourself in it, so it's a reasonably inoffensive fragrance to wear to the office. Will not be a re-purchase though.

Fragrances -Coty - Showtime EDT by Kylie Minogue
rated 2 of 5
magicalmoongoddess 8/21/2009 7:51:00 AM

I dont' find this fragrance pleasant at all and in my opinion it's the worst of Kylie's range of fragrances. I get a very powdery licorice with sickly sweet top notes. Although I know the top notes are strawberry and loganberry, I cannot pick these notes....I just get a confrontingly sweet concoction with the liquorice. The base notes are actually not too bad (have added an extra lippie for the base notes), however in my opinion it's not worth persevering through the top and heart notes to get to them. I actually don't mind sweet fragrances and the fragrance notes for Showtime sounded like they'd be to my liking, however whether it's just my body chemistry......well, this just doesn't work on me at all. Although I had the pretty bottle and a matching body lotion, I've palmed these off to my 17 year old neighbour. Hopefully this will be better suited to her :-)

Fragrances -Coty - Intimately Beckham Night Women
rated 4 of 5
magicalmoongoddess 8/20/2009 6:23:00 AM

This is a very nice evening or cold weather fragrance that is a spicy sandalwood/vanilla base scent. I get far more sandalwood than vanilla, so it is not overly sweet. Fragrance notes include fruit and floral notes, however apart from perhaps a bit of tuberose, I get mostly spice and sandalwood. A very pleasant fragrance, but probably not enough of the 'wow' factor that would get me to re-purchase. Listed notes: Top notes: bergamot, tangerine, cinnamon Heart notes: lily, orange blossom, tuberose, clove Base notes: myrrh, patchouli, sandalwood, tonka bean

Fragrances -Agent Provocateur - Strip
rated 5 of 5
magicalmoongoddess 8/19/2009 8:18:00 AM

I adore this fragrance - it's extremely sexy. Although I get a very distinct smell of musk sticks, which could make it very girly and young smelling, the overall effect is very reminiscent of Moulin Rouge.....red velvet lounges and cigars. I absolutely adore a fragrance that takes me to another place in time and Strip does that perfectly every time I wear it. Close your eyes and you can really imagine yourself in some cigar lounge from another period in time. It's very boudoir and very sexy......if there was a scent for "lust", Strip would be it!! Absolutely adore this but unfortunately it seems to be quite difficult to come by. This is my favourite AP fragrance hands down.

Fragrances -Yves Saint Laurent - Paris Jardins Romantiques
rated 5 of 5
magicalmoongoddess 8/18/2009 7:16:00 AM

I had the original Paris back in the 80s when it first came out and absolutely adored that big rose fragrance that was so distinctive. You could always pick someone who was wearing Paris as it's quite unmistakable......anyway, what I like about Jardins Romantiques is that it is a true variation on Paris, unlike some other fragrances that bring out summer versions etc etc that smell nothing like the original. Jardins Romantiques is a lighter version of Paris. Roses galore and a really green grassy note that smells just like a rose garden in spring amongst freshly mown grass. Again, the fragrance is still distinctive and unmistakeable and the bottle is absolutely gorgeous - same Paris bottle but with scenes of Paris (the city) in pale pink and pale green. Just beautiful :-)

Fragrances -Lancome - Benghal
rated 4 of 5
magicalmoongoddess 8/17/2009 9:48:00 PM

Benghal is a little difficult to come by, but I purchased mine on ebay without ever having smelled it, simply because it has a ginger note which I generally really like. If you too like ginger notes, Benghal will not disappoint. It's fresh and perfect for warm weather and I predominantly get notes of mandarin, ginger and sandalwood on me. The ginger lingers around for a long time and gives it a lovely spicy kick. Although it does have floral notes, including jasmine - I don't smell them on myself. On the downside, it is not particularly long lasting (well, it is an EDT) and whilst it is not a carbon copy of every other summer fragrance out there, it does lack a certain something which makes it really stand out from the crowd. Very nice for what it is, but not a re-purchase for me.

Fragrances -Thierry Mugler - Angel
rated 3 of 5
magicalmoongoddess 8/16/2009 7:31:00 AM

I would give Angel a 3.5 if I could....as it's definitely unique and a fragrance that is instantly recognisable. However I just don't like the opening on me - it is a really harsh patchouli - harsh to the point of smelling really herbal and grassy. I am actually a fan of patchouli notes in fragrances, but Angel is just too much on me!! The drydown is far nicer on me and smells of vanilla and a greatly calmed down patchouli. Just can't get over those initial notes though, which last for a good hour or so and smell like they could wipe out a small army! Don't think I would re-purchase Angel, as there are others that I like a lot more - bottle is nice, but annoying that it doesn't stand by itself.

Fragrances -Dolce & Gabbana - The One
rated 5 of 5
magicalmoongoddess 8/15/2009 7:28:00 AM

This is one of my all time favourite fragrances, which is saying a lot as I have over 100 perfumes in my collection. One of my favourite places in the world is Bali, and for some reason The One reminds me of my many trips to Bali. Not sure if it's the lychee, jasmine or any of the other notes, or just a combination of all of them together.....but the fact that it takes me to another place is special enough for me, as it really makes it memorable and unique. I get a very slighty fruity floral - but it is far more floral than fruity and is definitely a more mature scent that my description would make it seem (and by 'mature' I'm not suggesting it's for older people - but rather for people who appreciate a more mature scent than Escada LE's or Paris Hilton). The dry down is fabulous and smells very much like jasmine dipped in honey on me. Strange as this may sound, I always associate this fragrance with the colour gold - no idea why, but as such the bottle with the gold lid is THE perfect match for this fragrance and absolutely gorgeous as well. True, it's a little impractical to carry around with you as it's rather heavy but left at home on the dresser it looks extremely glamourous and opulent.......rather like the fragrance itself in my opinion. Guess you can tell I rather like it......it's a winner in my opinion :-)

Fragrances -Thierry Mugler - Angel Garden of Stars Lily Eau de Parfum
rated 4 of 5
magicalmoongoddess 8/15/2009 7:11:00 AM

This is a far nicer variation of Angel in my opinion. It still has the powerful patchouli note, but is somewhat made more fragrant by the lily note. So it's a great combination of lily, patchouli and vanilla. I dont' smell any chocolate on me. If you really hate Angel, chances are you will still dislike this fragrance, however if you dont' mind it but just find the strength of the patchouli too funky, this could be worth a try. Personally, I enjoy the scent of patchouli so I find this fragrance really lovely and a great balance - it's an intriguing floral! Absolutely gorgeous bottle - just had to buy one of this range simply for a bottle.....they are SO pretty!

Fragrances -Coty - Sweet Darling by Kylie Minogue
rated 3 of 5
magicalmoongoddess 8/15/2009 6:58:00 AM

This is quite a sweet and pretty fragrance that reminds me a little of Angel, as other reviewers have noted. However I like it a bit more than Angel as it is less harsh smelling in the patchouli note. Having said that though, I smell no flowers at all in Sweet Darling. On me, I get the cotton candy sweetness along with the patchouli and vanilla. It lasts reasonably well and has a pretty frosted mauve bottle. If you don't like sweet fragrances you'll hate this and if you're an Angel hater you probably won't like this either. Although it's nice, I won't be re-purchasing as there are plenty of other fragrances out there that are much better - I would have given it a 3.5 if I could have.

Fragrances -Salvatore Ferragamo - Incanto Dream
rated 3 of 5
magicalmoongoddess 8/10/2009 3:52:00 AM

This is a pretty young fragrance that smells predominantly of mango and pineapple, settling down to a somewhat fruity smelling light sandalwood. Fresh, fruity, summery and light it's also quite sweet smelling in a fruity way. Pretty bottle too! I would have given this a 3.5 if I could, so the only reason I've leaned towards 3 lippies instead of 4 is that it is not overly distinguishable and could easily be any of the Escada LE's. It's very pretty, but not unique.

Fragrances -Lolita Lempicka - Lolita Lempicka Midnight
rated 5 of 5
magicalmoongoddess 8/9/2009 6:20:00 AM

I really love the original Lolita Lempicka fragrance and Midnight is no exception. However I do have to say that I barely notice any difference at all between them - perhaps it is slightly more sensuous smelling than the original, but that's really just splitting hairs in trying to find a difference. So I still get the powdery licorice vanilla scent that I really don't find changes very much from when I first put it on. It lasts well, but is relatively sweet and is not a fragrance that I would wear in warm weather as it would just be too cloying. Gorgeous bottle, gorgeous fragrance!

Fragrances -Versace - Crystal Noir
rated 3 of 5
magicalmoongoddess 8/8/2009 7:23:00 AM

This is a very nice fragrance which smells predominantly of gardenia with a dry down of amber and sandalwood on me. It's quite a sensuous smelling fragrance with some real warmth to it. However the initial blast of this reminds me somewhat of fly spray.....not disgusting by any means, but not completely enjoyable either. The fly spray smell doens't linger for too long and then settles to a nice gardenia on warm amber and sandalwood. It has a bit of sweetness to it, but it's not at all sickly. I also find that the EDT is not particularly long lasting, which is a little surprising, as with these notes I would have expected it to last a little longer. In any case I have taken off 1 lippie for the fly spray smell and another 1 off for lack of staying power. Otherwise, quite a nice evening or cool weather fragrance in a rather nice bottle!

Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - Wrapped With Love by Hilary Duff
rated 4 of 5
magicalmoongoddess 8/7/2009 3:05:00 AM

It's interesting to read what notes everyone experiences with this fragrance on themselves as it quite varies!! This is a pretty fragrance with quite a comforting scent. On me I get purely honeydew on white chocolate mousse and vanilla. No raspberry note and nothing floral whatsoever. Despite the fruity top notes, this is not one I would want to wear in hot weather as I think the sweetness would become too sickly. If you don't like sweet perfumes you will hate Wrapped With Love as it is very sweet. I really quite like it, but it definitely cannot be classed as sexy or an evening type fragrance. It is quite a 'young' fragrance, but definitely appeals to the teenager in me every once in a while :-) And the bottle is gorgeous - pink and green - my favourite colours! Even though it's very nice I don't think I would re-purchase as there are better fragrances than this one in the same 'family'.

Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - Britney Spears Believe
rated 5 of 5
magicalmoongoddess 8/6/2009 2:27:00 AM

Although I'm not much of a Britney fan, I do have to admit to being a big fan of her fragrances. The thing I like about them is that they are recognisable and are not just these generic scents that so many of the celebs put out that are just so mainstream and smell like every other fragrance out there. Believe is no exception. I feel that this one is her most 'mature' fragrance to date, perhaps due to the patchouli inclusion. On me, Believe smells like guava mixed with patchouli which I like very much. The guava has that tropical fruit smell but the patchouli balances it out beautifully so that it's neither too sweet & fruity or too 'Angel' like in it's patchouli-ness :-) And once again, it's unique.....one of my friends also wears this and I can always pick it on her when she wears it, as I haven't come across any other fragrance that smells like this one. Also have to say that I think the bottle is gorgeous and the colour of the juice very pretty as well!
