I was first matched on the shade Tone. It was really nice and match my skin tone. I prefer my face to match my neck and chest, it only look matched when I'm inside the mall, store or house. But when I go out, my face tends to look a bit darker or tanner. So I chose the next color, Light. It works too, but I tend to get a bit pale. So I have to put a bit of bronzer on top. So all in all, I'm in between Tone and Light...but buying 2 of these isn't practical. I wish they come out with more shades. For the finish, when I use a full pump, it looks a bit tacky. Sometimes too matte. But I have oily skin so it tends to be dewy as the day goes by. I need to blot my face a few times. But it's just my face. :P When I use half a pump, it still covers my acne scars, redness around my nose, makes my skin even. But the product seems to melt off my face during the day. So I use full pump, then finishing powder on top to make it work for me. When I have dry skin, it tends to settle on wrinkles under my eyes and healed up acne. Gross. But make sure to moisture and exfoliate. I like the product because it already has primer on it, moisturizer and the foundation. But too pricey. It feels light on skin, doesn't feel like you have too much on your face, it has this cooling effect when you put it on. Good for everyday use. medium to full coverage - depending on much much you need to cover. I don't need a concealer when using this.
I highly recommend this brush. Very affordable, soft bristles, easy to wash (mine doesn't shed). It works wonderful on loose or pressed powders. I use this for my finishing powder, bronzer or just blending blushes. Definitely will buy again. :]
My friend recommended me this, so I bought 3 during their 60% off sale. I use this for dry make up: blushes, bronzer, pressed and loose powder...they work wonderful! I tried it on liquid foundations, it works but not as good. It tends to soak up the product, I end up using more. But in buff-wise and with a light hand, it can perform well in blending your foundation. It doesn't bleed or shed when I wash it. So I guess it's a hit or miss. It's very dense, so it takes time to dry. I wash mine night time so it dries up around noon the next day.
Cleansers -E.L.F. - Studio Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths

My friend gave me one of these to try and I like it. It's a decent make up remover cloth, and you can never go wrong with the price. I planned on stocking up, so I bought a lot during their 60% off sale. I use this AND then wash my face too. I don't go to bed without taking everything off. Because I use a lot of products (sunscreen, primer, liquid foundation, powder), I prefer to wash my face with a cleanser after using this just to make sure. I recommend this for initial cleaning, when you plan to wash your face also, rather than using it by itself; because it doesn't remove waterproof makeup very well.
Hair Styling Tools -Conair - Infiniti You Curl No Clamp Curling Iron
machochick 9/16/2011 12:32:00 AM
I have very long hair, up to my waist now. But I'm so bad at curling, that I totally gave up using my curling iron years ago! I only get curls when I visit my salon to have my regular trim. That will be only be good for one day, every 4 months. Yeah, sad. Anyway, I saw this at Nordstrom Rack at around $28. So I thought, why not? Maybe this NO- CLAMP thing will work this time, and IT DID! It takes some practice to get really nice curls. But even so, I still get "beachy" waves the first time I used it. The curls do last even without styling products. I guess, it depends on your hair type, so you might want to consider that. Experiment with it; use or not use styling products until you get the hang of it and decide which one will work for you. Overall, not a bad purchase. I took one star out because of the 3-finger heat protector glove that comes with it. They should've made it it 5-fingered to make it easier.
Primer/ Corrector -Unlisted Brand - Monistat - Chafing Relief Powder-Gel

I tried this after reading all the reviews...but what a waste of money. The feeling is velvety and easy to apply. But it broke me out like hell.
REVIEW FOR THE NO-SPF VERSION (white tube): This is the only primer that works for my acne-prone, sensitive skin. I'm using acne medications, my skin can be dry or too oily - very unpredictable and can go crazy anytime. But this either calms it down or no break outs, very moisturizing too. Would definitely buy again. CONS: no SPF. The SPF version broke me out. So I'm using a foundation that has SPF on it. Also, I can't find this on Sephora anymore and only available on Nars website.
I'm on my 2nd bottle! It is so rare for me to finish a product. This product rocks! I bought the small (2oz) first to see if I'll like it, then bought the bigger one b/c this is the only product that works for me. Love it! I'm skeptic about this, because I'm not really a fan of leave-in conditioners. I've tried many leave-in conditioners before (creams, gels, sprays) and this one is a home run for me! Other leave-ins will leave me with white residue, dandruff-like, or made my scalp itchy; too much hassle to put on, didn't do anything much on my hair... BUT THIS ONE WORKS! I have very thick, very long hair, I blow-dry everyday and this kept it manageable and almost frizz-free! Smooth to touch too. I apply this after every shower, towel-damp hair, and then blow dry. I wake up the next day, and my hair will still feel smooth, no residues too! I also like how it comes in a spray bottle, so I don't have to wash my hands every time I put this on. Definitely a HG!
My sister and I have been using this for years! Years, meaning from our teenage years to us, being moms. This is our daily staple and HG! I've tried many blushes from powder to liquid, high-end to drugstores, but I kept coming back to this product. This comes in a lip gloss tube-like applicator. It's also portable...but I don't have to carry it around since it stays put all day - no need to re-apply! I apply this one cheek at a time with my fingers (best tool for this)...I tried applying it both on my cheeks at the same time, but I end up having one rosier cheek (dries up quick). So, I suggest do one cheek at a time & blend. You don't need much, it's highly pigmented. It has a rosy stain. The only blush that didn't cause me acne / pimples. Works well with sensitive acne-prone skin. Dry or oily, didn't matter. Try it to believe it ;) I find this better than Benetint, which I find very liquid-y.
I'm in my 2nd bottles of both shampoo & conditioner - that never happens! I usually change (throw away) my products half way through it, but Aveeno Nourish + Revitalize was the best shampoo I've tried so far. Trust me I've tried many - from high-end to drugstore brands. I've started using it winter 2010 until now - spring 2011- the seasons that dried my hair. But my hair stayed (almost) frizz free, soft and no dandruff at all. Most of the hair products that I've use caused me dandruff and need to change every month. But from this Aveeno, that didn't happen. I have thick Asian hair and this made it so soft I rarely use leave-in conditioners. I also blow-dry my hair everyday, this product prevents damage. I only found this on drugstores & BBB, because "T" don't carry them.
My dermatologist recommended this. But sorry, won't be using it. This made me break out, because it doesn't clean at all! It's good for sensitive skin but doesn't feel like it's doing its job as a cleanser...that's why I got zits when I use this. I also tried using this as a make-up brush cleanser (b/c it has no use on my face anymore), and it does prove that it doesn't clean very well. My brushes were still dirty and foundations are still in there, even with several washing. THEN I used a another kind of cleanser and I can see all the gunk came off my brushes. Tsk tsk. I stopped using this and my zits are gone.
Lipstick -Clinique - Almost Lipstick - Black Honey
machochick 3/5/2011 12:51:00 AM
It's very hydrating, feels like a lip balm but with the color of a lipstick. Deep Honey will suit everyone's skin tone, in my opinion, it's a universal color. Pink or yellow undertones, light to dark complexions. I have dry and sometimes chapped lips, but I can apply this directly on my lips without priming it with a lip balm. I usually put balm first to moisturize my lips before putting on any lip product, but no need for that when I use Almost lipstick.
Cleansers -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Anti-Blemish Cleanser
machochick 1/27/2011 2:56:00 PM
I wanted to love this, but didn't work out for me. It doesn't lather well, and it feels tight on my skin. Doesn't do well controlling break outs, it dried my skin instead. I still need a make up remover before using this cleanser to make sure I got rid of any trace of make up before going to bed. Will not repurchase.
Cleansers -Neutrogena - All-In-One Makeup Removing Cleansing Wipes
machochick 1/27/2011 2:52:00 PM
I don't get the hype on this and I'm not sure if I'll repurchase. This is my second brand to try and I'm not that impressed. It does well with liquid or mineral make up but doesn't work well with waterproof mascaras. I need at least 2 towelettes to remove my face and eye make up. It's also a bit rough, I won't recommend this to anyone with sensitive skin. As I've said, it doesn't do well with wp mascaras, so I need to rub it a little more on my eyes, w/c isn't good - that's why I use another towelette for my eye instead of using the same towelette for both face & eyes. I try to save on towelettes and try to use just one. I still need to cleanse my face w/ water and face cleanser to remove everything.
Got the pink version on swap first, turns out I got a fake one (bad swapper!). The color was off too. I threw it away. I did more research and found out that the gold one works better, especially on dry skin. Decided to try this one...and made sure I'm getting the original. GOLD version: The coverage is more of a tinted moisturizer. Feels light or nothing at all. Go overboard (one pump is a LOT) and this will make any face super washed out...because the color is off too. It's more of grayish...but they said it will blend and match any skin tone. Not for me. My face stayed ghost-like all day. So, I pumped a very small amount, which is enough to cover my whole face. Dot in on my cheeks, forehead, nose and chin...blend. But even which such small amount, my face still looks grayish, although it covers most of my flaws - like freckles, sun spots, acne scars. I put mineral powder on top just to not have that ghostly appearance. I don't need to use a primer on this one, just moisturizer, BB cream then mineral powder. It works well with my BE Minerals on top. With both products, it stays long, and I don't need to blot or touch up through out the day. Overall, I will give this 4/5 just because of the color match. It matches better with mineral powder on top (or bronzer).
