Moisturizers -Olay - Regenerist DNA superstructure UV cream SPF 30
lusciouspreciousluv 5/17/2011 10:02:00 PM
I have re-purchased this a few times using it as a sunscreen before I FINALLY tried Shiseido sunscreen and got hooked on that. DNA Superstructure never made me break out. I also never exprienced the stickiness either. I mainly bought it just for the spf 25. Now that I have discovered Shiseido sunscreen, I will likely not repurchase anymore because there are far superior moisturizers out there. The smell isn't great, but in it's defense, this is an all around ok drugstore moisturizer with spf 25.

Toners -Reviva - Glycolic Acid Toner
lusciouspreciousluv 5/17/2011 9:50:00 PM
I picked this up at Ulta browsing the skin care aisle thinking I'd give this a whirl. I didn't really notice anything dramatic. It wasn't irritating, drying, but also didn't seem to make any difference in my skin so I got bored with it and started using it on my husband :-) For him it has helped make his skin look great! (in combination with Olay DNA Superstructure I literally have to sneak on his face while he's sleeping) His skin is combo/oily. I'm going to assume the actual % of glycolic is low as it seems to be more of a moisturizing toner, at least on my skin.

Treatments -Lumene - Vitamin C+ Energy Cocktail Intensive Care
lusciouspreciousluv 5/17/2011 9:40:00 PM
I was totally disappointed with this. I bought this originally thinking this was some kind of moisturizing sink-in serum I could use in the daytime with the vitamin C content. It seemed to take moons to sink into my skin. It's more like an oil. I was using this as a nightime treatment and didn't notice any real "miracle" results with it. And forget about using this in the daytime it is far, far too oily. At least on oily skin. Pure organic Jojoba Oil seems to works better on my skin as part of a nighttime moisturizing treatment. Will not be re-purchasing.

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Sensitive Skin Sunblock Lotion SPF 60
lusciouspreciousluv 5/17/2011 9:26:00 PM
White cast central. Stains everything. I was hoping this would work but I can't get over the casper look it gives you. Not to mention it dries in the most unattractive way as well. I honestly can't say one single good thing about this stuff.

Lotions/ Creams -Tree Hut - Brazilian Nut Shea Body Butter
lusciouspreciousluv 5/17/2011 9:17:00 PM
I bought this after deciding to not go with the Palmers cocoa butter and I'm glad I did. This stuff smells so delicious! It makes your skin feel very moisturized. The consistency is really, really thick. I use this at nighttime after a bath applied to damp skin before bed. It seems like it takes a while to really "sink" in but by morning my skin feels baby soft and very hydrated. Did I mention it's $4? Total score!

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Frutique Brighten
lusciouspreciousluv 5/17/2011 8:56:00 PM
UPDATE: I need to give this more credit given that I have just purchased my 3rd bottle of this. Having oily skin, daily daytime moisturizers are always trouble trying to find something that serves with anti-aging good-for-you skin benefits, goes well under your makeup and WON'T LEAVE YOU GREASY! This achieves all 3. Girls who are oily, and not break out prone/sensitive to Algae Extract, this is worth giving a shot. I would have given this 5 lippies if they added spf into it. In terms of brightening in my case, it is hard to say if it alone has served in brightening my complexion due to fact that I do weekly chemical peels, retinol at night etc... but my skin looks great so it certainly hasn't hurt it. I will continue to purchase as a daytime product until another "miracle" product I develop a lemming for comes out. Skin type: Very oily with occasional break-outs. This is a nice, fresh, citrusy smelling light moisturizer that seems like a cross beetween a serum and a cream. I can't picture this to be moisturizing enough for dry skins. I've also read that Algae Extract (the 5th ingredient in this product) can cause havoc on acne-prone skins so if you're prone to acne, this may not be for you. However, I've used this for 12 days straight in the daytime incorporated with my serum and sunscreen with no break-outs at all. In terms of brightening, I haven't really noticed but my skin does look good. For me, it's just enough moisturizing for my skin type. There is no spf. I got this on sale for $10 at Sallys and the size (3.4oz) is generous. I would possibly re-purchase given it's nice and light, smells pleasant, and as long as I don't start breaking out. Although I don't notice it doing anything miraculous. I'll likely end up trying another moisturizer before this bottle is gone.

Sunscreen -Shiseido - Extra Smooth Sun Protection Cream SPF 36 [DISCONTINUED]
lusciouspreciousluv 5/17/2011 8:40:00 PM
If you have very oily skin and the thought of sunscreen for the face scares you, try this. It really is mattifying and doesn't leave a horrid white cast. I used to completely avoid all sunscreens for the face in fear my oil slick skin would become even oilier, but it actually helps control it. I'm very fond of this sunscreen, I believe it may be HG status for me.

Skincare - Body -Unlisted Brand - Skin911.com Face & Body Peel
lusciouspreciousluv 5/17/2011 8:05:00 PM
I'm SHOCKED no one on MUA has reviewed anything from skin911.com yet!? This is my review for the Face and Body Peel. It's classified as a wearable peel/lotion that is a 42% combination of 30% Glycolic, 10% Lactic, 1% Mandelic, Malic and Kojic acid + moisturizers. I would not call this a lotion, it's more of a runny gel. The pH is 2.5. Think of this product as a chemical version of an exfoliating body scrub with the volume turned up high on steroids! I bought this with the Intense Hand and Body lotion (32% hydroxy acid with peptides) using layered on top of the peel and I cannot tell you how soft and amazing my body skin looks and feels using these products. My skin hasn't looked this good, EVER. I can honestly say my skin glows. For a body lotion, (it's more like a runny gel) this is high in AHA and very strong. So sunscreen is an absolute MUST. I noticed results in 2-3 days. The Keratosis Pilaris on the back of my arms and thighs..GONE. Dry, flaky, scaly skin...GONE. Old farmers tan....GONE. And my splotchy freckles have faded about 50%. I am not affiliated with this company but I cannot rave more about these body products. You only need to use them about twice a week for maintenence. I would imagine everyday would make your skin very irritated as the pH is low. For the first 3 min after application to back, arms, shoulders and legs, it definitely stings but the sensation eventually goes away for me as my body is used to AHA's already. If you are new to AHA's, wash it off if your skin turns red and the stinging doesn't go away. I noticed peeling on my knees and legs and ankles after 24 hours of use. The body peel is $85 for 8oz. I have not used this on my face as I have seperate peels for that. Mary the owner of skin911.com is very personable and the shipping is fast. I will continue to order from her forever and can't wait to try her other products!

Cleansers -Avalon Organics Botanicals - Vitamin C Hydrating Cleansing Milk
lusciouspreciousluv 5/17/2011 7:44:00 PM
I bought this specifically for in-between chemical peels because my staple LUSH Coalface is too harsh to use when my face is peeling and red. The smell is wonderful, very orangey citrusy. On my normally extremely oily skin, this is very gentle. I wouldn't count on this as a daily cleanser to totally remove makeup especially WP mascara, but if you're looking for a gentle, natural cleanser that smells fresh and yummy, I'd recommend this cleanser. Particularly for dry to combo skins.

Conditioner -Aubrey Organics - Blue Camomile conditioner
lusciouspreciousluv 5/17/2011 7:35:00 PM
I prefer the Honeysuckle Rose conditioner over this one. It seems to moisturize better. However, the blue camomile isn't bad. It's lighter and not as thick in consistency. The smell is kind of strange. A minty, chemical kind of smell? It does moisturize decent though on my long, medium hair with extremely dry ends. It's just not as fantastic IMO as the honeysuckle rose conditioner.

Treatments -Makeup Artist's Choice (MUAC) - 65% Lactic Acid Peel
lusciouspreciousluv 5/17/2011 3:57:00 PM
For my super oily, well exfoliated skin (I am very familiar with glycolic peels and products), this peel was gentle with no downtime. So far I've done 4 peels total, working my way up to 7min. It doesn't make me peel barely at all compared to glycolic acid. Also, the stinging isn't that bad. I'm able to do a peel in the morning and enjoy a NOTICEABLY glowing complextion the same day. I got the sample size of this and there is still at least 10 more peels left in the bottle. I will definitely repurchase this peel in full size to alternate with glycolic and mandelic peels from MUAC.

Polishes -Revlon - Really Rosy

This is a great color for those who want an understated, zero shimmer/glitter, but darker & noticably rose that is very feminine. I use CND super shiny as a base and top coat before applying. I have never experienced bubbling as the other reviewers stated.

Styling Products -Beyond The Zone - Flipped Out Spray On Styler
lusciouspreciousluv 4/24/2011 11:02:00 PM
This is great for adding volume to straight, flat, long hair. I spray a little onto targeted root areas I want lift, and works as an amazing volumizer. I think this strongly mimics the BigSexyHair Flip It Over spray. If I remember corrrectly, I like the Sally's one better as the BigSexyHair one felt very residue-like after a while.

Blush -L'Oreal - True Match Superblendable Blush in Barely Blushing
lusciouspreciousluv 4/24/2011 10:44:00 PM
HG blush. I've been using this blush for 5 years now. I can't count how many times I've repurchased. The look is so natural on me. I use it everyday to give me a nice flush on my cheeks. My only complaint is that I wish it were a little more long-lasting. It wears off relatively fast if applied to bare skin on days I do a 3 min face. The staying power is good when your doing a full face with primer + foundation + powder.

Mascara -Shiseido - The Makeup Lasting Lift Mascara
lusciouspreciousluv 4/24/2011 10:31:00 PM
HG mascara. The brush isn't favorable but the formula is fantastic in terms of staying power/smudging. It is great for the lower lashes as it doesn't smudge at all. I only use one coat as it can look really spikey. This is definitely more of a lengthening mascara vs. a volumizing one.
