Eyeliner -Almay - Amazing Lasting Eye Pencil
loveandkiwi 4/8/2009 6:53:00 PM
Another eyeliner that failed on me=( This eyeliner smudged pretty badly by the end of the day, even with UDPP as a base. I have hooded eyelids so it makes extra prone to have some of the product transfer to my upper eyelids and cause a hideous line in the middle of my eyelid. It also transferred to the bottom of my eye and made me have raccoon eyes. What I liked about this product is that it glides on very smoothly. The price is decent, but I wish I got better results for what I paid. The packaging is pretty good, it is a twistable pen and there is a sharpener on the other side which makes it really handy and perfect to bring when you are traveling.

Blush -NYX - Taupe

I love using this blush to contour! I heard that this colour is a great dupe for MAC's emote blush. When I use this to contour, it looks so natural. Great packaging and good price=)

BB Cream -Skinfood - Gingko Green BB Cream
loveandkiwi 4/8/2009 6:47:00 PM
I personally didn't like this product very much because of its thick consistency. A BB cream is supposed to go on lighter than a foundation and have a sheer coverage. This BB cream does provide sheer coverage, but it definitely does not go on light. The cream is so thick that it makes it really hard to blend the product out evenly without tugging your skin. After several uses, I felt like it clogged my pores and my skin grew some bumps--they are not pimples, but just red bumps that go away the next day. I don't usually have allergic reactions to face products, but my skin did react a little for this BB cream. This product also has a weird smell to it.... I personally dislike the fragrance it has. I thought this product was a bit too expensive for the results I got. It was thick, hard to blend, and heavy. I do not plan to purchase this product again.

Primer/ Corrector -Laura Geller - Spackle Cream
loveandkiwi 4/8/2009 6:42:00 PM
I initially bought this primer because my sister recommended it to me for its cheap price and the amount of product you get. I got this for $25 at Sephora and it contains 2 oz of product in it. I thought that was a GREAT deal since you only really need one pump for your entire face. I wouldn't say I am in love with this primer because I felt like this primer didn't really do any miracles on making my skin smoother and refine my pores before applying foundation. However, my face does feel softer after applying it. I really like how the consistency of this Spackle cream is very gel-ly. It goes on so smoothly that you don't have to tug on your skin to blend it over your face. Also, my skin feels very refreshed and cool after applying it. All this sounds great but the core purpose to even out the skin tone to make foundation application easier and smoother--unfortunately, this product doesn't do such a great job for this. It smooths out the skin, but not so much that it makes my skin looks flawless after applying foundation. As for the price, I mentioned before that you get a lot of product for a fair price (compared to other high-end products out there). You get what you paid for--this product is only okay. Packaging: I love how the bottle has an "air pump" sort of thing. You simply have to pump it and the product will slowly move up as product is being dispensed. This design assures that all product will be dispensed and it saves you from having to disassemble the bottle to get the remaining product out. Great packaging!

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Illuminating Whip Moisturizer SPF 20
loveandkiwi 4/8/2009 6:33:00 PM
I thought this moisturizer was too heavy and fragranced for my liking. I expect my moisturizers to soak in really quick and feel light throughout the day, but this product failed to do so. After half an hour, my face still feels heavy and it feels like the product is just sitting on my skin and not seeping in. The good thing about this moisturizer is that it has an SPF 20--good enough for day to day mild exposure to sunlight. The substance in the cream that makes it "illuminating" is very small glitters. These glitters are only so big that you can see shimmers when you are under direct sunlight. It is not so chunky/big that you will look like a disco ball. As for the price, I thought it was a bit too expensive since it didn't really moisturize my face that well. But overall, this is an alright moisturizer but definitely not great enough for a person like me who has combination skin. The packaging is decent, just like any typical drugstore moisturizer, it is in jar, but what makes it slightly different is that it is in a plastic instead of glass jar, which makes it lighter to carry if you want to travel with it. *EDIT: Recently I started using this moisturizer again during the morning and I'm starting to like it a lot better! I love how it has an SPF 20 so it protects my face from the sun. Even better, this moisturizer is not sticky compared to all the moisturizers that are out there with sun protection. It soaks in pretty fast and it doesn't leave my skin to be sticky=)

Makeup Brushes -Coastal Scents - Pink Duo Fiber Powder Stippler
loveandkiwi 4/8/2009 5:56:00 PM
I started off loving this brush because of its pink handle and cheap price. After washing it several times, I started to hate it. It sheds so much and that awful smell will not go away until several washes later. Also, after a few washes, the white fibers became very sticky, gross, and stained. I don't know why I can't remove the stains off as easily has my MAC 187se brush.... Maybe because it's just a different material? As for the application part, it does its job, but I always end up having a few hairs on my face which just ruins it all. I think I would rather spend more money on a brush that will not shed, smell, or stain on me!

Misc Beauty Tools -Revlon - Eyelash curler
loveandkiwi 4/8/2009 5:52:00 PM
I've been using this curler for the past few months and I'm not loving or hating it. The things that I don't like about it is that it pinches my eye sometimes and it hurts SO much. Also, it is hard to make a nice curl with this curler because you have to do it a certain way to get that "perfect" curl instead of a 90 degree "crimp". The thing I like about it is that it came with an extra cushion replacement and it was fair priced. I personally would not purchase this curler again because I figured that I am willing to invest a bit more for something will last me for years and delivers better results.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast
loveandkiwi 4/8/2009 5:47:00 PM
This is such a good mascara for lengthening+defining!! My lashes look so beautiful after applying one coat of this. It didn't clump/smudge/flake on me, my lashes looked the same after 8 hours. This mascara also keeps the curl very well! I only used this mascara 4 times and I already fell in love with it. I am planning to give up on trying high end mascaras that cost $20-$30 when I can get Lash Blast for under $10 while getting the same if not better results!! I love the rubber bristles for this product because it prevents clumping and it defines each and every lash so well. The sharp orange tube catches my attention and it just brightens up my makeup collection=)

Makeup Brushes -Everyday Minerals - Angled Blush & Contour Brush
loveandkiwi 4/8/2009 5:43:00 PM
The quality of the brush deserves 5 lippies, but I gave it 3 instead just because I thought the bristles were too dense to deliver its purpose. It is supposed to be a blush brush but I think it is too dense to apply blush. When I try to do so, the brush grabs too much product and I end up overblushing my cheeks. The same goes for contouring. You have to be super light on dabbing your brush into the blush and make sure you blend it out well. Otherwise, you might get a chunk of blush on your cheek and it makes it really hard to blend.

Makeup Brushes -Everyday Minerals - New Flat Top Brush
loveandkiwi 4/8/2009 5:40:00 PM
AWESOME brush!! I've had this brush for a few months now, and it never shed a hair on me! It is super soft, dense, and cute. Perfect for foundation if you want more coverage since the dense bristles will grab more product. It is the best brush I have in my collection=) For $10, it is such a good deal. I would have to say, I'd rather get a brush like this than a MAC 182 just because it is soo much cheaper and the quality is great.

Concealers -Everyday Minerals - Multi-tasking Concealer
loveandkiwi 4/8/2009 5:33:00 PM
No doubt, this mineral concealer is one of the best I've tried so far from Everyday Minerals. The coverage is great and it does what it claims. It pretty much lightens up any blemishes or dark circles. After all, it is virtually impossible to find a mineral concealer that will cover up EVERYTHING, so this concealer does a fairly good job. I apply a little under my eyes to set my cream concealer and it definitely brightens up my eye. I'm not saying that it totally covers my undereye circles, but it definitely makes a difference. This product doesn't cake on me unless I put a lot on. I don't find the need to put on a whole lot of this because a little goes a far way! As for the price, definitely much cheaper than all the concealers out there. For a price like this, the results and the amount of product you get is phenomenal. Everyday Minerals' packaging has improved a lot. They now have closable sifter jars so that the product won't go through the holes and make a mess!

Eye Makeup Remover -Sephora - FACE Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover
loveandkiwi 4/8/2009 5:28:00 PM
A fairly good eye makeup remover. It removes my makeup pretty well. The way to get the best results from this product is to soak a cotton pad or ball with a few drops of this product and soak it on your eye for a few seconds before you gently rub the eye-makeup off. Its also important to shake the bottle well beforehand. Perhaps people have complaints about this eye makeup remover because they are not washing their face well enough after using this. After using this product, you still have to wash your face with a good cleanser to get all the makeup off. You definitely cannot depend on any makeup remover to remove ALL your makeup without having to wash it again afterwards. I guess the price of this is the biggest problem. I think the L'oreal waterproof eye makeup remove may be better than this since I heard it is pretty much the same thing as Lancome's eye makeup remover. So, I'll probably stop purchasing this and switch to a cheaper alternative, L'oreal

Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel
loveandkiwi 4/7/2009 7:48:00 PM
I really like this moisturizer so far! I am so picky for moisturizers on my face because I expect it to absorb almost instantly so that my face doesn't feel greasy or heavy at all. This manages to do it. It sinks into my skin within 2 minutes and my skin feels nice and moisturized. I love how it goes on so smoothly. The consistency is so gel-like that it just glides on smoothly without having to tug on your skin when you try to blend it all over your face. Packaging is great. The pump is so convenient and it prevents you from getting too much product out. One pump is enough for my combination/dry skin. As for the price, definitely worth it!! Such a big jar, it will last a typical person for at least a month, I've been using it for almost a month and I am only 1/4 through the bottle. (Considering that I wash my face 2-3 times a day and I put some on every time I finish washing my face) For the ladies who have tried the moisturizing lotion and found it too oily, heavy, and greasy; definitely give this GEL a try!! I guess the only downfall about this product is that it does not have SPF. But I can always put some sunblock on top so its not too much a worry Overall, really like this moisturizer!!

Styling Products -TRESemme - Instant Heat Tamer Spray
loveandkiwi 4/7/2009 7:41:00 PM
This product does its job in making my hair shiny and soft after straightening but the down side to it was that it made my hair look very greasy a few hours later. I'm not sure why that is, maybe I sprayed too much. But if I don't spray as much as I did, I feel like its not enough product to protect my hair. So overall, a good product but the fact that it makes my hair feel greasy took 2 lippies away instantly=( I wish this product worked better on me

Treatments (Eye) -Neutrogena - Radiance Boost Eye Cream
loveandkiwi 2/10/2009 11:46:00 PM
I've been using this eye cream for almost 6 months now and I am not convinced at all about this product reducing puffiness and dark circles...... In fact, my dark circles are getting worse. Occasionally, it would make my eyes feel very oily and sticky... don't like it. I will not repurchase again I guess the only good thing is that a tube will last you a longggggggggggggggggggg time. (Which is actually con for me lol)
