Eyeliner -Make Up For Ever - Waterproof Eyepencil in Pearly Brown 2L
rated 5 of 5
loci 1/16/2009 1:41:00 AM

Was my HG brown eyeliner pencil for a period of time until MAC comes with peralglides, then I got pulled away by Molasses. 2L is a warm brown, with a bit of bronze compared to Molasses. The texture and staying power is very similar, both long-lasting on my oily lids and goes on smoothly, newbie proof :)

Eyeliner -MAC - Pearlglide Eye Liner in Wolf

Paired nicely with MAC lithograph fluidline. However this is not everyday for me, this is too cool. I love the steel grey shade and the texture, but my eyes cannot pull this off. I'll experience more with this later with cooler shadows and see how it goes. I still love the shade though.

Eyeliner -MAC - Molasses Pearlglide
rated 5 of 5

I really hope MAC can make these perm. This is by far the best brown eyeliner pencil I own, even better than MUFE 2L. Molasses is a neutral brown that can go with cooler shadows with no problem; MUFE 2L is slightly a warmer brown with more gold and orange in it. Molasses is also dark enough to define eyes but still soft, not as stong as Black Russian. Even though it does not have sparckles like other pearlglides (more of a matte, solid brown), I find it the most useful. I even bring one with me in my bag for touchups. Please, make this perm :(

Makeup Brushes -Giorgio Armani - Blush Brush
rated 2 of 5
loci 1/16/2009 1:26:00 AM

I do not understand the great rating for this brush here. I have the MA used this on me and its very noticablely rough on skin. I can feel the tip of every hair scratching me! Reminds me of MAC 129SH... I think I am spoiled by Hakuhodo blue squirel kokutan blush brush too much. But even MAC 165 is pretty soft. Will not consider buying this ever.

Makeup Brushes -Giorgio Armani - Powder Brush
rated 2 of 5

Comparable to MAC 150 - both below the average. I did not actually get a chance to try it myself, but during the special event Armani professtional MA came and use this and the blush brush to do me a makeover. The finishing result is alright (at least under the yellow light in Holts) but I do not find the brush feeling well when it touches my face. At least it does not stir up any desires for me to even ask the MA how much it is. Believe I do love Armani #13 and #15 (HG), but this just won't do.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Jolie Poupee Duo
rated 5 of 5
loci 1/16/2009 1:02:00 AM

The duo is beautiful and surprisingly wearable on my yellow-toned asian skin. This duo consists of two purple that's on the cool side with a good amount of blue in it. The darker shade has fine glitters and is dark enough to be used as a liner; the lighter shade is a cool matte violet in which the powder is soft and easy to blend. I love this duo but I will not spend this amount of money on something not that versatile. It will be hard to wear this on a daily basis...probably only on rare occations. If I really want a cool purple eyeshadow, I'll go to MAC and see if I can find something similar. But these are great shade.

Cleansers -Giorgio Armani - Gentle Cleansing Milk for Face and Eyes
rated 2 of 5
loci 1/15/2009 6:27:00 PM

The price for a cleanser is insane, no cleanser should cost this much. $65 for something that will be used up in 3 monthes? No thanks. Yes I am aware these non-rise wipe off make up remover is weak in power and is almost impossible to get all foundation off your face. I use this type of cleanser when I get home to get most of stuff off me, but use full cleanser before sleep. This one functions well but the price is a real no. I would stick to other brands, even drugstore ones instead of this.

Blush -Giorgio Armani - sheer blush 10
rated 5 of 5
loci 1/15/2009 5:54:00 PM

Even though it looks 90% the same as #2 in pan, its way different when applied on face. It has a tan/warm beige undertone in it, even a bit of wine shade; #2 is a pale pink with nothing brown. This one is comparable to NARS Madly, maybe a bit OASIS when applied heavily. Its a mature but nature shade, great with heavy smokey eyes or bold lips. Pretty much all season.

Palettes -Giorgio Armani - Pink Light Eye Palette
rated 3 of 5
loci 1/15/2009 5:43:00 PM

This palette consists of 3 light shades and one medium grey shade (which look slight leaning on the golden olive side when under yellow light) The quality of the powder is the same with other Armani shadows, that is very silky velvety and easy to blend. However, despite of the quality, the combination of the shades is boring and easily duped. The three lighter shades technically looks the same on me with only very subtle difference which you must stand 10cm away from me to be able to tell. The greyish light charcoal color is sort of muddy and not for everyone, nothing spring. I like GA palettes but this one does not strike me at all.

Foundations -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Foundation
rated 5 of 5
loci 1/15/2009 11:35:00 AM

I have not bought it yet but I have sampled them a few times, enough to know how this works on me. My staple primer is the HD blue/purple from this line, and I love the finish result of them working together. I am not very sure whether this foundation will work as well without the HD primer but I think it will work with other type of primer. This goes on evenly and melts right into your skin. Very nice coverage and photos well. The staying power is average, nothing stays on my oily face longer than 5 hours anyways. The plus of this is that even if it slides off, it does not make touch ups tougher like some foundation do. In term of price...how is this high? This is average for a department store foundation. I've tried many foundations and the price of this is definitely reasonable...think about La Prarine, La Mer...easily over $100.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Bohemian Gold Duo
rated 4 of 5
loci 1/14/2009 11:50:00 PM

In term of texture its creamier than Kalahari but not as silky as Alhambra. Both shades of Bohemian Gold have delicate metallic sheen to it. The left is a warm medium brown that's nothing special but still versatile. The right side is the killer - so unique. It looks like orange in pictures but its NOT ORANGE AT ALL. Its a redish/pinkish peach with magenta relfects. Under the light you'll see the mysterious breathtaking magenta sheen to it. I really have not yet found a dupe for this shade from other brand. Overall a versatile daytime duo. I took one lip off because althrough its beautiful, its not a absolute must for me. Click continue to see the swatch:

Eye Shadow -Bobbi Brown - Shimmer Wash Shadow in Stone
rated 5 of 5
loci 1/14/2009 9:42:00 PM

This is NOT a grey brown, but a red brown with a silver sheen. The shadow itself its a redish brown but with a lot of fine silver shimmers that's why in the pan it have this greyish look. I have compare this with Estee Lauder's Pure Color Duo in Mocha, NARS Earth Angel Duo, and Lunasol 04 Neutral. They look 90% identical in the pan but turns out to be quite different. BB Stone is the one with most red in there, is practically a warm brick shade with silver sheen on top; EL Mocha is the one that is true to the color, appears to be a neutral silver taupe; NARS Earth Angel is the neutral brown version of BB Stone, much darker than EL Mocha with almost matte texture; Lunasol 04 Neutral top left shade is very similar to EL Mocha but weaker in pigmentation. I will have a pic up soon if I did not swap away any of these before I get my Camera back.

Palettes -NARS - Afterglow / Warm Palette #9935
rated 5 of 5
loci 1/14/2009 1:00:00 PM

Beautiful palette with thoughtful combinations of shades. This palette is for everyday uses, slightly warm bit not too warm, can work on everyone. The shadows, lips, and blushes work together and there is not one shade that does not belong. Definitely worth the price.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Rebecca Duo
rated 2 of 5
loci 1/14/2009 2:10:00 AM

Can't get it to work on me. Looks like the brighter version of Earth Angel but not as sutle and versatile. The two shades looks good on its own but when layer on top of each other its very muddy. The brown is a bit too red that looks weird on my asian skintone. I did not put this on myself, its the NARS SA...of course I did not get it in the end. Click for swatches:

Eye Shadow -NARS - Corfu
rated 3 of 5
loci 1/14/2009 2:06:00 AM

You must wear UPDD or TFSI under this or it will crease. Its sheer on lid, with shimmery glitters and helps to grab the powder layering on. I use this to make my powder shadow has more depth and it does enhanc ethe color. Works under most shades. I like the shade but just do not reach for it.
