these pencils are SO much fun! cheap and easy to make creative looks! i bought the green, teal, ivory, and black pencils. they all go on nice and smooth, though the ivory really just creates more shimmer than actual color, but that's fine for me as i have just been using it on my inner corners. immediately after sharpening, i find they can be a little "chunky" going on, but if i smooth out the pencil on the back of my hand first, it fixes that problem. in my opinion, the best way to use these is over the top of a black gel liner. just for a little extra fun!
i love this serum. it makes my skin SO smooth, and i really think it's improving the tone/eveness of my skin. i don't know if it's really reduced any fine lines (i don't have too many yet), but i can hope! downsides: (1) no sunscreen, so i have to add a product for daytime use. (2) the scent...is a little too strong. luckily, it fades away and you don't notice it after a few minutes, but it just isn't very nice.
this stuff is wonderful! i have combo skin, but it's not tooo emollient for me. i use it at night to take off my makeup (and use more of a gel cleanser in the AM in my shower). it makes my skin SO soft, no breakouts, and really gets the makeup off. i only need makeup remover if i wear waterproof mascara or gel eyeliner. the only downside is the smell. it's fairly strong and perfume-y. i sooo wish it was just unscented, but for the price, i won't complain too much, since it's not that bad.
oh how i love this bath bomb! it's sooooo fresh-smelling and makes for a great relaxing bath experience. it's really about the time spent in the tub, for me, rather than how i smell/feel afterwards. though with that said, i loved how soft my skin felt and how yummy it smelled for hours afterwards! i love the seaweed, though a lot of it stuck to the sides of the tub and i had to scoop it all off...but i liked having it in my bath, so oh well. i don't have a whirlpool tub, but i imagine you couldn't turn your jets on w/ this bomb!
i love this stuff, but i AM a patchouli fan. i think it smells AMAZING paired w/ orange. i also love that after i get my shower, the bathroom smells fabulous forever--i suppose it's just that i can smell the bar because it's so strongly scented, but that's fine by me. it's not a very moisturizing bar, but sometimes that's what i want--like in the summer when i feel a little greasy and grimy.
Eye Shadow -New York Color - Individual Eyes Cusom Compact 939U Bryant Park

I don't give this a huge thumbs-up, but it's passable cheap eye shadow. I had my hopes up about the included base, but it turned out to be very strange--kind of chunky and sticky and just weird. The e/s stuck right to it and wouldn't blend. not what I was looking for! When I used my regular base, I didn't have that problem and the shadows went on bright and pretty and blended out just fine. there was no creasing even after a hot day, just pretty eye color! the shadows went on quite smooth and had a lot of pigment and just a little hint of shimmer. I actually really liked the highlighter in the compact, but you have to be careful to just tap your finger into it--don't drag your finger or a brush in it. it's way too chunky that way--but dabbing keeps it smooth and adds just enough shine to the brow bone. You can also pat it over the e/s to get a little more shimmer. I just wish the base had been a little better. It would have been really great to have 4 shadows, base, and highlighter in one place. But for four dollars, I think I can overlook it!
i love this lipstick, and i don't usually like lipstick!!! i would agree w/ other reviewers that worn alone, it's not very flattering, though i don't get the orange tone other mention...it just sort of washes me out. but paired w/ a clear or faint pink gloss, it makes the PERFECT glossy nude. i love it. i can't find a straight gloss w/ enough pigment to get this look and lipsticks alone are always too shimmery. i just want nude and shine, no shimmer. this does exactly that for only five bucks, so YAY revlon!
Polishes -Rimmel - Lasting Finish Pro - Steel Grey
kdigggs 9/18/2010 8:37:00 PM
this is totally perfect for fall, and like other reviewers have said, more on the taupe-purple side of the spectrum than a true steel grey. which is totally fine with me! it just seems like such a classy, understated color and i LOVE it! i don't have the problems w/ the formula others have mentioned. maybe i'm not that picky, or maybe some batches are better than others? i found two coats to be enough for a nice opaque finish. i also got 5 days or so w/o chipping. it wore away a tiny bit at the tips of my nails, but didn't chip until 5 days later. i was impressed!
i bought this in plummy so i could try something a little different than my normal black or gray. even though it was cheap, i should have just spent the money on something nicer to start with...ugh. this liner is NOT gliding...it pulls my eyelid something fierce and leaves little to no color. it's soooo dry. i was dissapointed.
Eyeliner -Revlon - Beyond Natural Defining Eye Pencil

i agree w/ the reviewers that say this wears off easily if worn as an eyeliner. but that said, i still like this product a lot, but NOT as an eyeliner! i use it as a shadow base. i have the black for dramatic looks and the plumberry for more neutral looks. it really helps deepen the eye shadows i use. i like that it has a large tip and it glides on smoothly. i just smudge it all over my eyelid and then put my eyeshadow on over the top!
Blush -Maybelline - Mineral Power Blush Gentle Pink
kdigggs 9/17/2010 11:11:00 AM
i found this at the dollar store, so for a buck, i figured i'd try it out--i'm sure it costs a good bit more at the drugstore!! it looks very pink and clownish in the jar, but if you're careful and light-handed with the application, it gives a gorgeous glow to your cheeks! i'm pretty fair-skinned, so i have to go slowly and add more if i need it, but it's pretty amazing! it's just enough cheek color to enhance a dramatic eye look.
Lip Gloss -Sally Hansen - Line Smoothing Mineral Lip Treatment
kdigggs 9/17/2010 11:07:00 AM
i can't speak to the line-smoothing effects, since i don't know that i have much in the line department, but i just like this as a basic gloss. it's no wonder product, but it glosses just fine, alone or over lipstick. i like the minty taste/tingle. for a cheap-o product, ($1 at the dollar store!) it's pretty great!
Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Eyes Creme Eyeliner - Black

This is really a wonderful product! Kudos to the people at Wet'n'Wild for making a quality product and a great price. This stuff SERIOUSLY stays put. It takes some effort with a good eye makeup remover and a qtip to really get this off my eyes. The brush it comes with is a little lacking, but that is easily fixed. This liner, used with a quality brush, rivals anything you can find--even those liners than cost 5x the price!! I wish it came in brown and gray in addition to the black and purple. It would be fun to play with other colors without having to lay down a lot of money.
I love this! Mostly for the color, though, and not the formula. For a quick-dry polish, though, it's not too bad. It doesn't dry so fast that it gets streaky or chunky. It doesn't have a lot of shine, but I just use Seche Vite over everything anyways, and that has lots of shine, so not a problem.
I bought this in the "Bowling Green" color--it has a shimmer pea-green type color and a less shimmery near-matte teal color. For a "fun" product, it does just what I need it to do. I stick to neutrals most of the time, but every so often, I need something to play up the green in my eyes, and for the money, this is great! For an everyday shadow, I would spend a little more and get something a little nicer and less powdery. I would recommend using a primer to get the colors to really show up and last without creasing.
