Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Moisturizing Lotion
kathrynb23 1/5/2012 9:36:00 PM
It's expensive for what it actually is, feels thick and greasy all the time, did not hydrate at all, just nothing at all! Takes forever to absorb into your sink, most of the time I feel as though it just sitting on top of my skin doing nothing. The only time when I thought this lotion has finally absorb into my skin, reality comes with evidence of this lotion on my couch, clothes, sheets and just everywhere except my skin.

Lipstick -Milani - Black Cherry
kathrynb23 1/3/2012 10:02:00 PM
This was a lot more dryer, a lot more pigmented, and the colour was a lot more deeper then I thought. I like the everything about it, long lasting, nice colour etc but I just cant bring myself to reach for it often, because the colour is a lot more vampy then I thought, and I wouldn't exactly call this sheer.

Blush -NARS - Exhibit A
kathrynb23 12/28/2011 7:35:00 PM
Yes it is impractical, and yes the colour was OTT and yes it was expensive, do you really need it? Absolutely NOT! BUT I LOVE IT! I agree with most of the negative reviews in terms of colour and application. The colour is a extremely bright red that is super pigmented. Absolutely not a blush I would use everyday, only because I don't have the time nor the mind to concentrate on my applying blush, most days I'd be tumbling out my door that a simple pinch on the cheeks is all I have time for. I however use Exhibit A when there is an occasion that I know I'll be in photographs, like weddings, engagement party etc. Most blushes get absolutely washed out under flash photography, but this blush doesn't. With a light hand and a stippling brush, this blush is manageable. I usually only dunk my brush lightly in the pan once only, stipple it your cheeks then blend it.

Lips -Tarte - LipSurgence Natural Lip Tint in Perky
kathrynb23 12/22/2011 9:36:00 PM
Absolutely love Tarte's LipSurgence in Perky, love everything from colour and right down to packaging! I have really pigmented lips and Perky still appears as a beautiful pink on my lips. Moisturising and long lasting with a scent that I can only describe as a mint candy cane. This was the only colour in the Lipsurgence line they really got my attention.

Makeup Brushes -Sigma - E25 Blending (was ss217)
kathrynb23 12/22/2011 7:26:00 PM
I love how Sigma gives these brushes as freebies when you make a purchase with them. Are these brushes to die for? No, but I find they do a fine job at packing and blending my simply eyeshadow looks. If I'm ever just applying 1 single eyeshadow on my eyes and blending it out, this brush does the job effortlessly.

Makeup Brushes -Sigma - F82 Round Top Synthetic Kabuki
kathrynb23 12/22/2011 7:09:00 PM
I purchased this brush when Sigma had their Black Friday free shipping worldwide special. OMG their website was soo congested that it kept crashing on me. Anyways I brought this with the large Synthetic Tapered Kabuki, it was a set of 2 and it was on special. I absolutely love this brush. I usually use it together with concealer or liquid foundation. It blends and buff the liquid found and concealer so well that the end result is completely flawless. This brush is the perfect size and density. Has never shed on me, and no bleeding at all. I will be looking at getting the complete Sigma Synthetic Kabuki brush set when they have their next free shipping special!

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon #252B Nutty
kathrynb23 12/21/2011 6:42:00 PM
Perfect taupe for everyday. If I'm heading out to dinner after work, my eye makeup only consist of Nutty, Sigma E25 brush, mascara and UB 24/7 Liner in Bourbon. Lunch date with friends, all you need is Nutty and some Mascara, and there you have it, simple doe eye! This is a must have Taupe for everyone! It's a shame that Wet'N'Wild is not available in Australia.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked 2 Palette
kathrynb23 12/20/2011 5:31:00 PM
Living in Australia, I don't get much access or information on Urban Decay products. I saw reviews for this palette about 2 weeks ago on MUA.com and I was like "What??When did this happen?". I get my makeup info and update from youtube guru's, but this was never mention anywhere. Ok, so once I found out there was actually a NAKED2 Palette, I immediately started to hunt it down and get it to Australia. Soo sad, sold out everywhere....hehehe......except for Texas at the time of purchase :). 4 Annoying phone calls, 7 pestering text from an over dramatic drama queen, 7 days later it arrived right to my doorstep 5 days shy of Christmas...Thank you dear friend! I promise I wont bug you again...for now! I knew from reviews and images online they had change the packaging, which is good. The brush was essential, and I actually do quiet like it. The gloss was something I can do without, I reckon it would be better if they replaced the gloss with a mini Primer Potion in Sin. The colour selection in this palette is nothing random and still represents what a Naked palette is, but with more cooler tone shadows, unlike the first one which was more warm toned. This palette actually comes with and amazing matte black shadow called Blackout(what else can it be called??) and 2 other matte shadows, which Naked didn't have, Naked only had 1 matte shadow. A little disappointment was Half Baked, I love it, but once was enough, why does it need to be repeated in this Palette? Pistol is an amazing colour, although in pictures I thought it was an ugly grey, but in person, it was just amazing, with what looks as though it's got a slight greenish/teal sheen to it. I ended up paying $64.95USD including shipping for this palette. It's slightly more expensive then the last Naked Palette, I think that's because of the packaging and not the contents, because the Naked 1 actually had, double ended liner (or the later ones have a brush) and a Primer Potion. This has the same amount of shadows, a brush and a gloss, equivalent in value, if not even cheaper, but packaging is more sturdy. Love it to death, will always buy if quality continues!

Lipstick -Tom Ford - Pink Dusk
kathrynb23 12/12/2011 6:18:00 PM
These lipstick has been all the rave lately, but seriously at $65AUD my expectation bar went from top to OTT and I was not going to accept anything less from this lipstick. Much to my dismay this lipstick was a complete let down! The colour was extremely gorgeous and I could see this colour would be a hit for most people, myself included. However the quality of the lipstick is questionable for the price. I know with lipstick the dryer the formulation, the longer the lasting power. Matte lipstick tends to be dryer then any sheen lipstick, but they tend to last a lot longer, MAC matte lipstick is one of my absolute favourite, they glide on well and doesn't feel drying on my lips, nor look or comes across as patchy. Tom Ford lipstick on the other hand, feels extremely dry, and it did dry out my lips, and worst of all it was patchy all over, the result looks rather horrendous and cheap, which is not right for a lipstick I paid $65AUD for! I did go to see this in person, but I only ever swatched it on my hands and never my lips(I find testers are disgusting its been on people's hands and lips, it doesn't matter how well the MUA at the counter sterilises it, it's still disgusting!). I've already spent $65AUD on this lipstick, quiet disappointed, yet happy in a way, I thought the minute I brought this lipstick, it would be the beginning of a brand new lipstick addiction and collection, that would be quiet expensive, but THANK GOD THAT'S NOT THE CASE! I teamed this lipstick with a cheap Witchery pale pink gloss that I have lying around, and the result is actually quiet nice. the gloss helps hydrate my lips and helps nude out my lips a little more, while this lipstick provide like a pink base for my lips. When I teamed this with my Witchery gloss, the colour that I get is a warm pale nude pink that's almost perfect for my skin tone, and it was rather beautiful. The lipstick alone was a let down, but when teamed with a pale pink gloss it was actually a hit. However I cant justify paying $65AUD for a lipstick that cant be worn alone.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Single in Brulee
kathrynb23 12/6/2011 6:19:00 PM
I recently made an online purchase for some Wet'N'Wild eyeshadow, all I really wanted was Nutty and never really thought of much about Brulee, only till I keep seeing it on the MUA most reviewed list and it keep popping up on the front page of MUA.com( IT'S ANNOYING!), I knew I just had buy it just to get it out of my system. I have been using this everyday for the last few week. The colour actually helps brighten up my eyes and neutralises any blueness around my under eyes and lid, and best of all it looks almost unnoticeable(doesn't look cakey or powdery or shimmery). I know this is an eye shadow, but I've been using it more like a powder concealer for my eyes. My Bare Escentuals Wells Rested and Laura Mercier Undercover Pot has got nothing on this eye shadow! A lot of MUA followers are going to gag when I say I paid $5.50 each for these Wet'N'Wild individual shadows to get them shipped to Australia, but to me these were priceless!

Makeup Brushes -Sigma - E45 Small Tapered Blending (was SS226)
kathrynb23 11/30/2011 8:51:00 PM
I actually quiet love my Sigma E45 brush, it does an amazing job with blending eyeshadow along the crease. I can imagine this would work better for people who have more of a prominent eye socket and crease.

Eyeliner -NYX - Candy Glitter Liner - All
kathrynb23 11/27/2011 5:57:00 AM
I got this in Tangerine as a freebie with one of my NYX purchase. Packaging and everything looks cutesy. I'm not a make artist or any artist for that matter, I have absolutely no use for this at the moment, though I do firmly believe it will come handy maybe one Halloween, and it was a freebie that I appreciate, soo I cant complain. Quality wise, I did play around with it, and this stuff seems to not set at all. It seems more like paint on glitter, the only way I could get it to dry is if I dab it on with my finger, which honestly defeats the purpose of it being a liner. Definitely not something I would purchase.

Treatments -Lancome - genefique
kathrynb23 11/24/2011 7:25:00 PM
I was going through some really tough time with my skin recently, having to change my whole entire skincare routine to salvage what left. Anyways, I brought this as part of my new skincare routine, mainly to help my skin tone and texture to even out after a disastrous winter of blemishes, breakout etc causing scaring. My skin is not like how it use to be anymore, the breakout have more of an effect on me know then it did when I was young(or even a year ago for that matter), it takes a lot longer to heal, and the purple scaring lingers around on my face longer then anticipated. Anyways a lot of people mention this product for anti aging purpose but also to even tone and texture, I just had to give it a try. SUCH A WASTE OF MONEY! I brought this during their GWP, and also because it was having a special pack promotion at $120AUD you get the 50mL Genifique, with the eye cream and night and day cream in generous sizes plus the gift pack, how could I say no? I'm currently still using mine, and will be finishing it up and that's it. I've been using this for well over 2 month I've seen nothing improve.

Scrubs -Biore - Pore Perfect Pore Unclogging Scrub
kathrynb23 11/23/2011 10:40:00 PM
Again another hit from Biore. My skin tends to love Biore cleansers very much. I have a very elaborate selection of Biore cleanser in my shower, to which my partner thinks it beyond and crazy......I love it! This cleanser has a very heavy Cucumber scent that's always refreshing. Cleanse my face effectively everytime. My skin never feels tight, inflamed or dry afterwards. I use this cleanser 1-2 times a week.

Scrubs -Dr. Brandt - Microdermabrasion Body Exfoliating Cream
kathrynb23 11/20/2011 7:03:00 PM
I think this review is a little bias, but I hated this from the moment I opened the tub. The scent is horrendous, I just can't stand it. The scent is like citrus mixed with wet eucalyptus which equals to massive stink! I teamed this with my Clarisonic and honestly for the price that it is, there is a ton of other products on the market that would do the same or even a better job then this. I think this would be nice for people with sensitive skin cause they cant use anything too gritty, but for normal, dry or people with skin like armour (me), this is useless. It has a lot of very fine sand/particles/pumice whatever it is, but to me it's just too fine.
