Concealers -Clinique - All About Eyes Concealer

I did not like this at all. The color choices are poor and the lightest shade looked off on my PPP skin. It also seemed very runny and did not cover my dark circles at all. On top of that, it settled into my fine lines (which I have very few) and caked up under my eyes as well. Will not repurchase.

Other -Crest - Whitestrips Advanced Seal
rated 5 of 5
jawbreaker 7/15/2009 12:59:00 AM

These are great and are superior to the other Crest whitestrips. These are not goopy unlike the regular ones and these stay put! You will need to be careful when applying because once you have it on, it's on. When removing, I have found it is best to go slowly, removing it from one tooth at a time rather then removing the strip all at once (like you could with the regular ones). You will want to do it this way because it really will be stuck on your teach and can be a little shocking and uncomfortable if you go to yank it off---thinking it is like the old ones---because it just will barely budge and pull a bit, which doesn't really *hurt* but caused a little discomfort. So, I just take the edge and go slowly, removing it from one tooth, then the next, and so on. My teeth are very sensitive and the usual strips cause problems after the first use however with these, I am on day four and my no sensitivity issues. I am already noticing whiter teeth as well. I also do not have a problem with drooling like I do with the regular strips. I can put these on and go about my usual activities without worrying they will slide off and without worrying about all the drool I am producing or worrying about having to dab it up (sounds gross but I know others have experienced this so maybe this will be helpful to someone!). These are more expensive than the regular ones but so worth it! Check the Sunday ads for sales and coupons....that's what I did and it brought the cost down quite a bit. I highly recommend these!

Powder -Clinique - Almost Powder Makeup SPF 15
rated 1 of 5
jawbreaker 7/6/2009 4:50:00 AM

I a big fan of Clinique but not this foundation. It is very drying and cakey. I also found that it does not wear very well. After a couple of hours, it tends to melt off in blotches. Will not repurchase. IMO, the Stay Matte powder...even though it is a pressed powder....works better as a foundation (or regular type of powder) than this powder foundation. Will not repurchase.

Liquid -Clinique - Even Better Makeup SPF 15
rated 1 of 5
jawbreaker 7/5/2009 1:07:00 AM

The lightest shade is not light enough for my PPP NC15 skin. Luckily I had a sample and didn't have to worry about returning/exchanging. Also, the formula seems quite runny/oily and some of the ingredients seem questionable for sensitive skin such as my own. I will stick with Clinique Stay True.

Liquid -Clinique - Superbalanced Foundation
rated 1 of 5
jawbreaker 7/5/2009 1:05:00 AM

This broke me out. The texture also seems quite oily and runny. It also did not wear well throughout the day. A few hours after wearing it, it seemd to fade off in certain spots so my skin became blotchy. Also, I'm a PPP neutral/cool and MAC has me at NC15 and the lightest shade is not quite light enough. Will not repurchase. Clinique Stay True is much better and no breakouts.

Liquid -Clinique - Superfit Foundation [DISCONTINUED]
rated 1 of 5
jawbreaker 7/5/2009 1:02:00 AM

I'm a PPP, neutral/cool and MAC has me at NC15 but I cannot find a color that is light enough for me in this formula. The coverage seems more light than medium. I had a sample that lasted about a week but this foundation does not peform at all. It doesn't cover very well plus after a couple of hours, it becomes splotchy and is wearing off. I do not recommend this for pale skin tones (or anyone for that matter). Clinique Stay True is much better, causes no breakouts, and is good for sensitive skin.

Blush -Mary Kay - Pink Petals
rated 5 of 5
jawbreaker 7/5/2009 12:14:00 AM

Love this color! It is a neutral, soft, light pink with no shimmer. This is probably the closest blush to MK's d/c Azelea blush from years ago which was my very first blush...I've tried to find a dupe for years and nothing has come close. I'm a PPP, neutral/cool, with green eyes and dark brunette hair. I don't like pinks which are too cool and this one is just right. This gives such a fresh look and is not cakey or powdery. The color stays fresh all day as well. There is no scent and so far, this has not broken out my sensitive/acne prone/rosacea skin. Love this!

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup with SoftFlex SPF 15 Normal/Dry Skin
rated 1 of 5
jawbreaker 7/4/2009 11:50:00 PM

This broke me out. I think all the silicones and/or mica/shimmer are what didn't agree with my skin. Years ago when the first ColorStay foundation came out, I love that....the coverage was good, the wearability was good, and no breakouts....but they d/c it years ago. I thought I would try this due to good reviews in the MU board. First, I am surprised (in a bad way) by the coverage of this. IMO, this was more a light/medium coverage...but felt like full coverage (meaning it felt heavy on my skin). It didn't seem to cover well nor did it blend in....it just kind of sat there on my face. I also did not like the finish. It has a bit of a shimmer finish, as if it has mica in it (I don't remember from the ingr. list if it does) but it was not a natural or matte finish. I'm pretty disappointed with this and perfer Clinique Stay True, MK Med Coverage, or EL Double Wear to this. Will not repurchase.

Eye Shadow -Revlon - colorstay 12 hour eye shadow quad Sandstorm
rated 5 of 5
jawbreaker 7/4/2009 11:31:00 PM

This is my favorite quad from Revlon. I'm a PPP, neutral/cool, with dark brunette hair and green eyes. This palette is great for creating an everyday look or a neutral smokey eye. The colors are very wearable with just the right about of shimmer....not too much and not too little. I could see this working for a lot of individuals.

Tinted Moisturizer -Mary Kay - Tinted Moisturizer with Sunscreen SPF 20
rated 5 of 5
jawbreaker 7/4/2009 11:26:00 PM

I love this! This is my first TM I've ever tried. Usually my skin needs some coverage and I usually wear a medium to full coverage foundation (my faves are Clinique Stay True, MK Med coverage, and EL Double Wear). However, I wanted something a little lighter that I could wear on "off" days or days where I just needed a little coverage. This is very smooth and dries pretty quickly, so you have to blend fast. I like that it does provide light coverage, which I hear is rare in a TM. It does not cake or settle into fine lines. It evens out my skin tone nicely except for a little bit of my rosacea I have in my cheeks, but that is to be expected b/c nothing really takes care of that. I am also surprised by how long wearing this is! I decided to wear this to work on a day where I knew I would be moving around a lot and it was 90+ degrees out....and WOW....my skin stayed even and pretty, no melting or blotchiness or setting into pores/lines. I like the tube and the point applicator makes application very precise.....but I've read that others do not like how pointed it is. This can easily be solved by trimming a bit off with scissors. I like to apply this with a sponge. My only complaint is that it smells a tad like sunscreen, which it has, so perhaps that's why I smell it. It is not over the top and it is tolerable which is rare to me because I am very sensitive to scents. For reference, my skin is combo/dry(used to be oily) sensitive, acne prone, prone to clogged pores. I am a PPP, neutral/cool and MAC has me at a NC15. I wear Ivory 1 and it is a great color for me. I really love this and it isn't irritating my rosacea either! Highly recommended and the price isn't bad based on the quality.

Eye Shadow -Cover Girl - Eye Enhancers - Champagne
rated 1 of 5
jawbreaker 6/30/2009 5:04:00 AM

I never have luck with Cover Girl eye or cheek products because they are just too chalky for my liking and do not wear long. However, I saw this in the store one day, came home and read the reviews on here and was intrigued. The next time I was in the store, I thought I'd get it. Hello chalk city! This looks so unnatural on my PPP skin, it made my eye lids look dry and chaulky and it was borderline glittery....not shimmery imo. Save this for Halloween. Will not repurchase.

Crème -Cover Girl - Simply Ageless
rated 1 of 5
jawbreaker 6/30/2009 4:39:00 AM

My skin has been changing the past year or so and where I used to be combo/oily/sensitive/acne prone, I am now all of the above except more dry instead of combo/oily. I had a list of products down that worked great for me and then voila! Life happens, you get older, and your skin changes. Fun! :( Well, I've always been on the hunt for an HG foundation and it seems I always will be. First, with this I LOVE the packaging---great for quick application, toss in the bag and go, and I love the purple color! I admit it is hard to twist off when you first purchase it, but that aside, the packaging is great. I also liked that it was very easy to apply....I had forgotten how fast cream foundations are to apply but also with this, it was very cool to the skin each time I applied it. The cooling sensation was nice, never experienced it before and not really necessary, but nonetheless, a nice surprise. I suspect it has to do with the white swirl of Olay in it. Also, a big THANK YOU to Cover Girl for making this with light shades! PPP's are celebrating! As mentioned in previous posts, this does run light.....it looks dark in the pot but do not be fooled! MUA'ers will not let you down, trust the spoken word of the reviews, choose a darker shade than usual! I was tempted not to after looking in the store but I remembered all the posts and I'm glad I went a shade darker. I'm 99% of the time the lightest shade and sometimes even that isn't light enough (so frustrating) but I choose the 2nd lightest shade and it was a beautiful match! In fact, it was borderline too light but I have been in the sun a bit lately so perhaps that is why. I just loved the color, I wish all foundations could come in lighter shades, it would make things so much easier. For reference, I am a neutral/cool and in MAC am NC15. BUT...with all of that said, I'm rating this a 1 at best and will not repurchase. At first, it glided on and looked wonderful! About three hours later, I look in the mirror and I am blotch city! Redness is peaking though, blotches have melted off in some areas but not in others, and the foundation had settled into the pores on my cheeks in the worse way I've ever seen! When it came time to remove this, I had to rinse twice because it seemed to not want to rinse out of the pores it settled in to. And, I routinely use a mask and aspin scrub/mask to help exfoliate and clean my pores and I had been having very good skin days and hardly any noticeable pores....but somehow, this foundation just seeped into them and made my skin appear to look like the surface of an orange peel. No thanks! I'm so glad CVS offers no hassle returns....back this went as I continue my search for HG foundation.....at this point, I'll take just a really good foundation! I'm willing to accept a few flaws! Surely I can find one....maybe....? :)

Liquid -Maybelline - Super Stay Makeup
rated 1 of 5
jawbreaker 6/28/2009 6:31:00 PM

I'm a PPP and the lightest shade, Sand Beige, is too dark for me. Even with super blending, there was no way I could make it work. BOO. For reference, I'm a neutral/cool and MAC has me as a NC15. I almost always wear the lightest shade in foundations and have a hard time finding foundations light enough.

Blush -Mary Kay - Shy Blush

Very pretty color but SO MUCH SHIMMER it is ridiculous! It really is borderline glitter and really turned me off to the product. No matter how much powder I applied over it to try to negate the shimmer, it was still alll over my cheeks. Will not repurchase :(

Eye Shadow -Bobbi Brown - Long Wear Cream Shadow in Galaxy
rated 4 of 5
jawbreaker 6/23/2009 6:04:00 AM

I purchased this in a set BB came out with and it is a beautiful pewter shade with subtle shimmer. It is long wearing and you can really play with the intensity based on how much you layer it. It doesn't crease either. I do not like the packaging...but I'm mostly used to powder e/s so perhaps that is why. Overall, a great color for my PPP skin and green eyes.
