Eye Shadow -Bourjois - Little Round Pot - Noir Precieux 04
rated 3 of 5

This is a beautiful blackened purple that's great for smokey eyes, but not nearly as harsh as a straight black or grey shadow. Goes wonderfully with brown eyes, but I found the pigmentation to be lacking. The texture is a bit chalky, maybe I got a dud? Otherwise this is a great shadow to have if you like smokey eyes.

BB Cream -Bobbi Brown - BB Cream SPF 35 PA+++
rated 3 of 5

This goes on beautifully but unfortunately doesn't stay that way. At the end of the day, I notice that it's sunken into my pores and flaky patches are highlighted. It also has a tendency to clump around my nose. I'm NC25-30 and was first colormatched with Medium, which was surprising because it's a pinch darker and appeared more orange than what I'm used to wearing, but somehow it doesn't appear orange once applied. A week later, I returned to a different Nordstrom and was colormatched with Fair, which also appears to be a good match and is much closer to my NARS TM shade, Alaska, in that it has yellowy/gold warm undertones but isn't as peachy as the "Medium" shade. Coverage is between light and moderate, so you'll still need a concealer for blemishes and scars, but it evens out skin beautifully. I was told that this product is great for combo skin but I do finish with a light dusting of loose powder to set it in the morning, and by the afternoon I have to blot but overall it's not bad in terms of oil control. I don't mind the sunscreen smell, which is very faint and barely noticeable, but it definitely has a thicker consistency that can be hard to blend and apply.

Between this and the NARS tinted moisturizer, I prefer the NARS.

Primer/ Corrector -Urban Decay - All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray
rated 1 of 5
izzybella 11/1/2012 2:15:00 PM

Wasn't a fan of this product. I don't think it did anything in terms of making my makeup last longer, and it was hard to get it to spritz properly. I ended up getting a shot of All Nighter in the ear, and it dribbled down my cheek when I managed to get on my face. I applied it to the right side of my face only, and by the end of the day you couldn't really tell the difference between the two sides. This is a good product to have if you can get it to work for you. For reference I have combo skin.

Treatments -Murad - Rapid Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Serum
rated 3 of 5
izzybella 11/1/2012 2:12:00 PM

Of all the lightening serums I've tried recently, this is probably the one that's yielded the best results. I apply this at night after I use my Clarisonic in the shower and my skin is noticeably softer and smoother in the morning after just a few applications. However, I think it may take some more time before I can definitively say that it's helped fade sunspots. I have a large one on my cheek that appears slightly lighter, but it's very subtle. I'll continue to use and will revise with updated results.

Masks -Korres - Wild Rose + Vitamin C Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial
rated 3 of 5
izzybella 10/21/2012 12:06:00 AM

First things first - I find this product to smell absolutely foul. So foul that my eyes water after applying it (and yes, I don't apply it near the eye area). And this is coming from someone who usually likes rose-based scents! This is a nice night cream, but I don't wake up to amazing improved skin in the morning by any stretch of the imagination. I'm returning this and will be investing in a good vitamin C serum instead.

Masks -Boscia - Bright White Mask
rated 2 of 5
izzybella 10/20/2012 11:26:00 AM

While Boscia's black mask was pretty popular a few years ago, I hadn't heard much about the Bright White Mask. To me, the two masks are the same - takes a while to dry, difficult to peel off, and other than lifting gunk out of your pores, not much benefit to my skin. Obviously they're different colors - this one looks like you've slathered white out all over your face. This mask is supposed to even skin tone, reduce hyperpigmentation, brighten skin, moisturizer and plump skin, and reduce fine lines/wrinkles. I'm a little skeptical about its ability to do any of these things.

Lotions/ Creams -Curel - Curel Targeted Therapy Foot Cream
rated 5 of 5
izzybella 10/19/2012 2:33:00 PM

I hit the foot cream jackpot when randomly picked this up at the drugstore. It's incredibly moisturizing but not greasy, it absorbs quickly, and it has a wonderful coconut-y scent. Plus, it's reasonably priced and can double as hand cream. I'm going to stock up on a few tubes to get me through winter!

Treatments -Fresh - Umbrian Clay Mattifying Serum
rated 3 of 5
izzybella 10/19/2012 2:31:00 PM

I was skeptical of this product because how could it claim to be both hydrating AND mattifying at the same time? After test driving this for a few days, I've come to the conclusion that this is just a nice moisturizer to wear under foundation with no mattifying abilities whatsoever. If anything, I think my face is shinier/dewier after I've applied this under my foundation. I do like the cucumber scent and this has a nice texture that sinks in quickly, but I haven't noticed any of the effects it claims.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous False Fiber Lashes~Waterproof
rated 4 of 5
izzybella 10/19/2012 2:26:00 PM

This is an excellent mascara. I've also tried L'oreal million lashes mascara but I like this one better because its more volumizing and thickening. It was a little too wet and clumpy on the wand at first, but after a few days I got used to it. The only drawback is its a bit difficult to remove, even with a cleansing oil. I'd repurchase!

Treatments -Dr. Brandt - Dark spots no more
rated 3 of 5
izzybella 10/13/2012 5:20:00 PM

I've been using this for about the last month or so. I have one particular dark spot that I'm trying to fade - this appears to have lightened it a few shades, but this serum also seems to irritate my skin, resulting in congestion/ bumps where I apply it. It does have a easily absorbed, non-sticky gel texture though. In the end, this isn't my favorite product for dark spots so I can't say I'd recommend this.

Blush -Becca - Beach Tint Raspberry
rated 4 of 5
izzybella 10/12/2012 2:43:00 PM

I bought both Becca Beach Tints in Watermelon and Raspberry. Raspberry is a deeper, blue-based berry color and was a touch too dark for my coloring (currently NC30ish). It reminded me of NARS Dolce Vita lipstick, which was also just too dark for me. If you're darker complected than I am, this could be a great everyday lip color, but on me it looked too dark and unnatural.

Lotions/ Creams -Nivea - Smooth Indulgence Hand Cream
rated 4 of 5
izzybella 10/11/2012 6:36:00 PM

This is a really nice hand cream. It absorbs quickly and has a nice silky texture that moisturizes really well. However, I found the scent to be a little strong. Otherwise, this is a great hand cream for the price.

Concealers -Shu Uemura - Cover Crayon
rated 4 of 5
izzybella 10/3/2012 2:10:00 PM

I swapped for this and was a bit concerned at the low reviews here in P'Ville, but I was a big fan of SU's Pro Concealer, which is now discontinued and hoped that this was basically the same thing but in crayon form. I have this concealer in 7YR Medium/Medium Light and the two shades are perfect for my skintone when blended together. The consistency is creamy and soft, and I like the hygienic chubby pencil. Definitely recommend and will repurchase, unless it gets d/c'd too!

BB Cream -L'Oreal - Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream
rated 2 of 5
izzybella 10/3/2012 2:01:00 PM

This oxidized so bad on me within 5 minutes of application. It went on beautifully and evened out my complexion. However, I noticed as I was doing the rest of my makeup that my face started looking darker and orange. Initially I thought I'd overdone my blush/bronzer, but when I used a tissue to dab at my face to remove some of the color, it had straight up orange stains on it. If you have combo/oily skin, beware! I also don't like that it doesn't contain SPF, so you have to wear a separate moisturizer with SPF or sunscreen if you want sun protection while wearing this.

For reference, I wore this in Light and am MAC NC30, NARS Alaska/Punjab, and Shiseido O20.

Moisturizers -Josie Maran Cosmetics - Argan Daily Moisturizer SPF 40
rated 3 of 5
izzybella 8/22/2012 1:47:00 PM

I really wanted to try this moisturizer because I'm a huge fan of argan oil and wanted a more natural sunscreen. It's a bit thick coming out of the bottle but it absorbs quickly. It did feel a bit heavy compared to what I'm currently using (DDF moisturizing dew, no SPF) but it works well with my NARS tinted moisturizer. My only complaint so far is the smell, which reminds me of cherries or almond extract. It doesn't linger too long though, but initially it's a bit off-putting. I would've preferred a non-scented product but the moisturizer itself is pretty good. I like that it contains SPF 40 but the price is a little steep.
