Bronzers -St.Tropez - Self Tan Bronzing Mousse
rated 5 of 5
italiana800 10/17/2012 8:55:00 PM

Hands down best self tanner I've ever used. The color you get is actually brown, & NOT orange. Amazing. I never thought I'd see the day that happened. I prefer this over the lotion because this doesn't transfer onto clothes. The only thing that is a downfall to this, is that this is a bit of a process. You have to rub this all over your body the best you can to get all the streaks out, & let it sit on your skin for a loooooonnnng time. So, if you're in a rush...this is not the answer for you. This is pretty expensive, but worth it. You definitely get what you pay for. I would definitely buy this again & you get a lot of product as well. The color you get is the closest tan to a "real" sun tan that you will probably get with any self tanner. People usually can tell when you're wearing a fake tan, but everyone actually thought I went to beach when I used this! This is good stuff. The only thing I would say is to make sure you shave first before applying this, put lotion on & let it absorb, & spend the extra $5 to buy the applicator mitt that is reccommended with this. It will save you a mess & a hassle.

Brows -Anastasia Of Beverly Hills - Anastasia Brow Gel
rated 5 of 5
italiana800 10/17/2012 8:35:00 PM

This brow gel is amazing! This is honestly the only brow gel I've ever used, so I don't know the difference with any other ones. But, this one holds my brows in place all day long, without flaking. This definitely gives that perfect finishing touch to my face after I'm done with all my makeup. I have the clear brow gel, but they do sell this in colors like brown & black I believe. I never fill in my brows with pencil or anything, so I didn't see the need to buy this in a color. If you do, you may want to try getting this in one of the colors since I heard it will help to keep the color on your eyebrows. I would definitely reccommend this & I can't see myself without this in my makeup collection, especially on days when my eyebrows look crazy if I slept wrong! This is pricey, (around $25-$30 I believe), so I don't think I will be buying this frequently. I use this mostly for special occassions.

Primer/ Corrector -Tarte - Clean Slate Poreless 12 hr perfecting primer
rated 2 of 5
italiana800 10/17/2012 8:24:00 PM

I don't like this primer at all. First off, this somehow makes my face oilier than it really is, which is the opposite of what this is "supposed" to do. This did not diminish the size or appearance of any of my pores, (which I really don't have a problem with anyway),...but still, this is targeted towards making your face appear as if it's "poreless." My makeup usually never has a problem with sliding off, but this stuff actually makes my makeup come off faster. So, within about an hour/2 hours of wearing this, I'm left with an oily/greasy face with my makeup starting to come off. The tube this comes in barely gives you anything & is super small, this wouldn't necessarily be a problem if it wasn't for the fact that this costs over $30 with tax! You do only need to use a little bit of this, but still a rip off in my opinion. I've used many primers, & this is close to one of the worst I've used. This isn't the worst because this did not break me out, (knock on wood). That's the only reason I even gave this a rating of 2. Iam definitely returning this tomorrow & I will keep using my beloved Smashbox Photo Finish Light primer. Works 100X better, & way more effective. I do not reccommend this primer at all. You can get way better primers that come with more for the money. On the flip side, my mom absoloutley loves this primer. So, I think this primer varies with different skin types.

Mascara -BeneFit Cosmetics - BADgal Lash
rated 2 of 5
italiana800 10/15/2012 11:51:00 PM

I didn't really care for this mascara. I had higher expectations, especially for the fact that this costs $20. This mascara doesn't really give noticeable length or volume, it gives more of a natural look. Not that I mind the "natural look," but for a product with a name like "Bad Gal Lash," I guess you can say I didn't feel "bad" wearing this. I felt plain, very dissapointing. I have honestly used $5 drugstore mascaras that are way better than this, & I actually prefer them over this. The brush is the only thing I liked about this mascara. Iam going to return this (thanks to Sephora's amazing return policy), & pay the extra $5 to buy my Diorshow Blackout. Works way better.

Treatments -It's a 10 - Miracle Leave in Product
rated 2 of 5
italiana800 10/1/2012 2:43:00 PM

This leave in conditioner was just okay, nothing special. This wasn't bad, but wasn't amazing either. This did leave my hair soft, but didn't really leave my hair feeling "conditioned." I don't think the price of this justifies the quality either. The only thing I thought was cool about this is how the product can spray out, & the pump never gets clogged up. I actually ended up returning this & getting my money back.

Hair -Matrix - Biolage exquisite oil
rated 5 of 5
italiana800 10/1/2012 2:28:00 PM

This oil is AMAZING. I use this after I'm done straightening my hair to help tame the flyaways & keep the frizz down. This works great! My hair instantly becomes soft, shiny, frizz free, & manageable...without getting oily or greasy! I agree with the previous reviewer, this oil absorbs really well, better than most other oils/serums I've used. It seems no matter how much I use, my hair will not become oily. For reference, I have naturally curly/wavy, thick hair...which I almost always straighten. I've used morroccan oil, macadamia oil, chi silk infusion, biosilk, it's a 10 styling serum, & matrix silk wonder oil. This one beats out alot of the others I've used. I have not used this in wet/damp hair, but like most oils, I think this would work better on dry hair. On the bottle, it says you can use this as a deep oil treatment while you sleep, or use a few pumps on your hair right before shampooing. I have not tried neither of those methods, but I will update once I do. The only complaint I have is the packaging. The cap falls off easily, so this is not ideal for traveling. There should be a way that the pump/dispenser locks in place when done using. This oil also smells amazing as well. I believe this is around $14, & I will definitely be buying this again once I run out.

Styling Products -Kerastase - Nectar Thermique
rated 2 of 5
italiana800 8/14/2012 9:26:00 PM

This is a good product, don't get me wrong, but do I think it's worth paying $44? No. From reading all the reviews, I was expecting mind blowing results. Which, I didn't really get....but at the same time, this product didn't make my hair worse. To put it short, this product wasn't pheonmenal, but it wasn't terrible either. This product did make my hair shiny, soft, & smooth....but I've used many products that give me the exact same results, if not better & at a fraction of the cost. The smell of this kind of reminds me of a new car smell. This did also condition my hair to get rid of some of the dryness & this was virtually weightless in my hair. By no means is this a bad product, just not worth $44. For the results I got...I'll stick to the other products I use that do the same thing for cheaper. Maybe if your hair is pretty damaged you will notice a difference with using this, but if you have fairly healthy hair for the most part you will not notice a difference with using this. I think that's why this didn't work out as well for some people, (including myself).

Styling Products -Giovanni - 2 chic Brazilian Keratin & Argan Oil Hair and Body Super Potion
rated 5 of 5
italiana800 8/9/2012 10:14:00 PM

This serum is great. I put about 2-3 pumps of this in my hair when it's damp, comb it through, & let my hair air dry. This cuts down straightening time by a lot. One glide with my straightener gets my hair perfectly straight & sleek in one shot, without having to go over each section of hair multiple times. This doesn't make my hair oily or greasy either, which is great. If you use too much of this, it probably will make your hair oily. This was also very reasonably priced for such a high quality product. This is the 2nd Giovanni product I've used & I have to say, I've been very impressed with both. I will definitely be trying more products from this line. The only thing that turns me off about this product is the smell.....It's terrible & very strong. The smell does linger for about a day, then goes away after I straighten my hair. Other than that, this serum is amazing & I will definitely be buying this again.

Scrubs -Giovanni - Dtox System Purifying Facial Scrub with Charcoal & Volcanic Ash
rated 5 of 5
italiana800 6/28/2012 6:50:00 PM

I picked this up on a whim while I was at Walmart. The thing that honestly caught my eye was the fact that this contains charcoal & volcanic ash, which I find pretty cool. I've also heard those ingredients are very good for skin. I used this at night, after I washed my face with my usual Pond's make up remover. This left my face feeling so soft, smooth, clean, pure, didn't dry my skin out at all (actual added a bit of moisture), didn't cause any breakouts (so safe on sensitive skin), & this scrub was EXTREMELY gentle. I truly was amazed, & I still am. I believe I paid around $8 or $9 for this, but that was a very well spent amount of money. The bottle this comes in is very small, but you only need literally a tiny little glob of this. I wet my face first, then apply this & gently scrub in circular motions all over my face for about 2-3 minutes, then rinse off with cold water. I will definitely be buying this again & I would reccommend.

Hair Styling Tools -Sedu - Revolution Flat Iron
rated 4 of 5
italiana800 6/19/2012 1:28:00 PM

I work in a salon, so I got this iron as a back up iron for really cheap. Prior to buying this iron, I already had the original Sedu, (which in my opinion, is a better iron than the Revolution.) The Revolution is a good iron, & it gets very hot, but the plates don't leave my hair as smooth & shiny as the original Sedu. The original is also a little bit cheaper by the way. This overall is still a good iron, but if I had to choose, I would definitely choose the original. This iron still beats out the Chi & Babyliss.

Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Mat Velvet PLUS Matifying Foundation
rated 4 of 5
italiana800 6/12/2012 6:09:00 PM

I really like this foundation! I wanted something a little bit lighter & more natural looking for an everyday foundation, but still with decent coverage. My skin is pretty clear, so I don't really need that much coverage, so this foundation worked well enough. If you have acne, or major redness, then you would probably need to use something a little heavier or concealer under this foundation. This foundation has not caused any breakouts, smells pleasant, goes on very smoothly, does not make my face look dry or accentuate on dry patches, looks natural, & helps my face stay matte for pretty much the whole day. I don't even have to use a primer or powder over this or anything. But then again, I don't have oily skin so I'm not sure how it holds up for people with super oily skin. What I like the most about this foundation is that it looks like I'm not even wearing any makeup! Which is exactly what I wanted. This blends in very well on my skin & I found pretty much a perfect color match, (#35). The only thing I will say, is that this foundation does settle into fine lines, & laugh lines. Even though I found a good color match after trying every shade, I wish this foundation didn't make my face look so dull. With this foundation, it is a MUST for me to put on some blush or bronzer to liven up my face. But, I would definitely buy this again. This is expensive, (I believe it was around $42). Great natural looking foundation.

Bronzers -LORAC - TANtalizer Baked Bronzer
rated 3 of 5
italiana800 6/12/2012 12:02:00 AM

I've been eyeing this in Sephora for a while now, & I've been in need of a good quality bronzer. I decided on this one because the color looks really pretty in the container it comes in, & I like the other products I've tried from Lorac. This bronzer wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing either...especially not amazing enough to justify the $32 pricetag. The one thing I will say that's good, is that this comes with A LOT of bronzer. So, this will probably last like 3 years or more. It does come off kind of orange if you use too much. This bronzer also tends to streak if not blended well enough. If lightly/sparingly used, this bronzer looks decent. This bronzer is also a little too glittery for my taste. I kept my receipt, & I'm still not sure if I'm going to keep this or return it. I'm going to use this a few more times & see if I like it better. This is just too expensive to look past this bronzer being only "decent." I've used drugstore bronzers that worked better, & they were way cheaper. So far, I wouldn't buy this again. If anything changes, I'll update.

Foundations -Josie Maran Cosmetics - Matchmaker
rated 1 of 5
italiana800 6/11/2012 11:42:00 PM

I was looking around in Sephora, & one of the sales associates showed me this product. She was telling me how it seemlessly matches to your exact skin tone. She tried it on my hand, & I was amazed! It blended really well, & it seemed like it covered pretty well for the most part. When I got home & tried it on my face, it was a whole different story. This stuff turns orange once it touches skin, doesn't cover well AT ALL, is super oily, & has a really weird texture that is very gritty. I really don't understand how this would be considered a foundation? I'm not saying a foundation has to be heavy, but this stuff was lighter than a tinted moisturizer. If anything, it's more on the level of a very light tinted moisturizer. If you have problematic skin that needs decent coverage, then I wouldn't even bother trying this. This also accentuates on dry spots on skin. This pretty much didn't do anything....& it was $42 for a small bottle. I ended up returning this & getting my money back. I do not reccommend this at all, don't waste your money & time on this one.

Fragrances -Philosophy - Amazing Grace Eau De Parfum
rated 2 of 5
italiana800 6/5/2012 11:58:00 AM

I'm just not a fan of anything from this line. I love the idea behind it & how simple & pure the products from this line seem, but when I actually go to use something from this line, I get a reverse effect than what this would seem to be. This perfume was no different. I actually received a sample of this, & it's way too musky for my taste. It then turns kind of powdery & floral...which I can handle most of the time, but with this one I couldn't for some reason. It may smell great on some people, but it's just not my taste. I also do not believe the price of this is justifyable. This scent fades quickly & is just simply not worth the high price. Overall, I would not buy this.

Fragrances -Escada - Rockin' Rio
rated 5 of 5
italiana800 6/4/2012 11:13:00 PM

I was deciding between either buying this perfume, or Sexy Graffitti from Escada. I decided on this one because Sexy Graffitti's staying power lasts for like 15 minutes. This is a great summer smell. It reminds me of a beach party. This is a very fruity & sweet perfume. It's not sweet to the point where I get nauseated though, (like fantasy from Brittney Spears). I'm sure there are many different scents incorporated into this perfume, but the main scents I smell are mango, tangerine, peach, & something extra that I can't quite put my finger on. Overall, this smells AMAZING to me. I would agree that this is probably geared toward a younger crowd. I could still see women in their 30's being able to pull this scent off, I don't think this perfume is that "immature" of a scent as many people are claiming. This is basically perfect for the summer, & that's exactly what I bought it for. The staying power is great as well. This lasts all day for me, with only a few sprays. I would buy this again & reccommend this for anyone wanting a fun & girly perfume for the summer. The only thing that kind of put me off about this perfume, is the fact that this smells very similar to one of the Paris Hilton perfumes.
