Tinted Moisturizer -Laura Mercier - Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20

This moisturizer is just ok I guess. I am not sure if I got a bad batch but this seems to smell a little rancid to me. Also, at first it feels great on my face but 3 hours later my face gets too greasy. Also, this tends to get a little runny when you remove the cap and it gets a little messy. I guess I'm returning this to Sephora pretty soon.
Too cute to pass on this ! The shades are very fun and vibrant, and is very easy to blend. I wish that Urban Decay keeps making BOS more often with limited colors. It's such a good value and comes in awesome packaging ! Also, it stays on well with UDPP. Will definitely repurchase when they come up with more BOS.
Moisturizers -Chanel - Beaute Initiale Energizing Multi-Protection Cream SPF 15
imeldita22 12/13/2010 8:49:00 PM
I really don't like to spend this much on creams, but my skin became desperate this winter season. I have normal/combo skin and I started getting flaky around my cheek area and I initially purchased Clinique and it didn't help at all. So I decided to give this a try since I've had such great experience with their Age Delay line years ago and now I'm glad that I purchased this instead. Anyway, imho, this is a little thick but when applied, it sinks in to my skin easily and doesn't leave a greasy touch at all. The next day my skin still feels moisturized and in 3 days the flakiness disappeared from my cheek area. The flakiness was actually there for about 2 weeks now and the Clinique moisturizer did not help at all. This cream is lightly fragranced but not overwhelming. The packaging is nice too. Comes in the classic Chanel jar with shiny black lid. Would definitely purchase this again.
Palettes -Urban Decay - Book of Shadows - Alice in Wonderland [DISCONTINUED]
imeldita22 12/13/2010 6:31:00 PM
This BOS is the prettiest of all that UD released. Yes the shadows were just renamed but the whole idea of alice in wonderland made me love this palette like crazy. I was a bit upset for not knowing that this was released and sold out everywhere and being sold for a fortune in ebay, but thank god i came across a super kind swapper her on MUA. The shadows are very pigmented and the box/packaging itself is just gorgeous! I wish they'd make this again :(
I'm not gonna say it sucks because I am almost sure that i dislike this only because I have really thin wispy lashes. I do like that it's a nice black but i wish it would've been a little thicker. Other than that, Colossal Waterproof is still my fave.
I started using this powder, I believe, I was 17. It wasn't the cheapest, but it's been my most favorite ever since. I've used other powders that are half this price, with more coverage, but I don't know, I just love the finish on this one. I wear Suede and my skin is NC35 and it applies beautifully. Also, this powder is about the only one that doesn't clog my pores. It's awesome.
it's a flattering color for an NC35 skin with yellow undertone. it doesn't look so much like a blush on me, more like a sculpting powder of some sort, my round face looked a lot skinnier in pictures lol
Powder -Yves Saint Laurent - Matt Touch Compact Foundation SPF 20
imeldita22 11/28/2010 9:16:00 PM
i want to love this makeup, but the thing is, i don't think the compact is sturdy enough. too plasticcky (yes not a word lol), the coverage is just ok, i have to layer it a lot to get a full coverage, and most of all, for 9g, i don't think it's worth $57 at all. Chanel in Double Perfection Compact is 13g for $50 and the coverage is way better than this. I do love it, and I will repurchase if the price won't be that expensive.
Lipstick -Yves Saint Laurent - Rouge Volupte In Red Taboo #18
imeldita22 11/28/2010 10:09:00 AM
i was looking for a red lipstick for the holidays and came across this color at Nordstrom. Let me just say that this is a beautiful red ! it pairs nicely with smokey eyes for an evening glam look. I love the formula as well. This doesn't chap my lips by the end of the day unlike MAC lipsticks. Would definitely repurchase !
Mascara -Yves Saint Laurent - Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils
imeldita22 11/28/2010 10:05:00 AM
i love this mascara ... a lot ! I have very thin, wispy eyelashes that are natural curled already, and this volumizing mascara really does wonders. it made my lashes really thick and black without weighing it down. I'm not loving the price, but it's totally worth it. However, if you don't like dramatic lashes, I wouldn't recommend this.
I first bought MAC Pro Longwear Foundation in NC35 when it first came out and I promise that I really gave it a chance and it just didn't work out for me. So I exchanged it with this foundation and at first I was a bit surprised because I was sure that the sales associate just wanted me to buy an expensive item to make her sale. I was looking for an oil free makeup and this isn't close enough to be oil free, however, I really loved the texture of this and I caved in, no questions asked. The color goes on beautifully, the texture is very creamy yet comfortable on the skin and not cakey. This is by far the thickest makeup I've tried that I actually loved. Will repurchase!
too cakey, and too drying. i feel like all my fine lines are emphasized when i'm wearing this, and oh, I hate the way this smells ! the coverage is ok, it's just medium, and it's not buildable, try to build it up and you'll look like a freak after wards. i will never buy this again.
Love the color, the only thing is, i don't know why it comes out pink on me. I initially thought this is a coral lipstick but i guess not. but it's still pretty though,
so i think i have the weirdest eye area. everyone hates this eyeliner, i hate all eyeliners and all these years haven't really found my HG eyeliner ... til I tried this one at the counter in Nordstrom. I've heard and seen bad reviews on this one, but for some reason, my eyes are actually liking them. For the first time, an eyeliner that does not migrate on me. The only thing I don't like about this is I have to put eye drops on my eyes cuz right after I put this on, my eyes start to water and turn red like I have pink eye ! otherwise, after the tears and eye drops and all, the color is still intact, in my waterline. it's too bad it doesn't work very well for a lot of us beauty junkies.
Makeup Brushes -MAC - #168 Large Angled Contour Brush
imeldita22 6/9/2010 8:31:00 PM
I am in love with this brush ! it is so soft and blends blushes really well ! I heard that this can be used with foundation as well for sculpting but haven't tried it yet. I recommend this and I am almost for sure that this is one of the softest brush they have. Will repurchase if I will ever need to.
