Fragrances -Comme des Garcons - Odeur 53
hrtbrkr78 12/19/2011 8:37:00 AM
I got this at Sephora on clearance so it was cheap to me, though now the price has skyrocketed tenfold. I loved the simplistic container but the box was a waste of space for the smaller size. This was an interesting scent that only a few could love. I smelled of plastic, paint thinner and burnt rubber. I washed it off immediately trying not to gag. It's described as unisex at times but it's more masculine than feminine. Perhaps it would smell better on men.

Too much bloom and no citrus on my chemistry.

Scrubs -L'Oreal - Go 360 Clean Deep Exfoliating Scrub
hrtbrkr78 12/19/2011 3:42:00 AM
I also bought this just for the scrubber gadget and for the scent. My face felt smooth as if I used a cleansing system and the scent was not overpowering. I do wish the packaging mentioned that this is a foaming scrub. The scrub granules are much too small and doesn't do much for my thick skin as far as exfoliating goes. This would be great for sensitive skins or those who need to build up layers of epidermis. Most times I want just a scrub w/o rubbing foam into my skin. Will buy again for the scrubby only.

Misc Beauty Tools -Revlon - Expert Effect Hands-Free Foot Smoother
hrtbrkr78 12/18/2011 11:15:00 AM
I got this while shopping at Longs a long time ago but threw it away during a move. I thought I would never find it again but I've found it! It is just like the Pedegg but it's more gradual and less painful as you have more control on how much dead skin to remove. The only drawback is that it does leave foot dust around the area you keep this so I suggest putting some newspaper around the area or vacuum it away. I guess you could do this outside or in the shower but I think it's great to just blithely sand your foot while reading blogs.

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Snow Fairy Shower Gel

I don't know what the hype is for this. It smells like a cross between cherry cough syrup and Rolaids. A sickly-sweet scent.

Lotions/ Creams -Avon - Moisture Therapy Hand Cream
hrtbrkr78 12/18/2011 10:16:00 AM
Cheap, tried and true. This is like a glove on your hands and it takes some rubbing, about 2 minutes for this to sink in but it still feels a bit greasier than some other hand creams. I wash my hands 10+ times a day so this is a godsend for me. One of my HG hand creams that I prefer to use only at night before bedtime or under gloves in winter because of the greasy feeling it leaves. Also good for feet.

Fragrances -mark - Mists Juicy Body Fragrance Very Watermelon
hrtbrkr78 12/18/2011 7:45:00 AM
I got this in a swap or I would have never tried this. This smells like you bathed yourself in actual watermelons and it makes me salivate for some. Yes, it's THAT good. I very rarely buy body mists nowadays but this is one that I hope to always have in my stash. I can't wait to try the other ones in this line. These are currently on eBay for $9 but I think that's kind of high for Avon stuff.

Conditioner -Suave - Naturals Tropical Coconut Conditioner
hrtbrkr78 12/18/2011 7:30:00 AM
I originally bought this to shave with and I must say that it works to make my skin feel soft w/o having to put lotion on in the summer. As for it's intended purpose, it makes my hair detangled and nicely scented with a light coconut scent. I don't expect much for 99cents but I would choose this over the Origins Knot-Free any day.

Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Mat Velvet PLUS Matifying Foundation
hrtbrkr78 12/18/2011 7:18:00 AM
I read a video review on Youtube from Tiffany and thought I'd give this a try. The SA said 40 would look best on me (NC30) and maybe it did in store lighting. She gave me a sample to take home but when I looked under my Ottlite, I looked ashy, pink and like I was wearing a mask. This doesn't have enough olive in it to make it a skin match. On top of that, it settles into my pores, no matter if I wear primer or not. Maybe using this with a brush will be better. I have combo skin and after a few hours this left my face looking dewy but even after 6 hours of wear, it's still on my skin. I used an oil based MU remover and a soapy cleanser and still had residue on my towel. This is some heavy-duty stuff. I would buy this if they made more olive tones. I did not use powder as I was testing this for oxidation. It does not oxidate but made me look pink and peachy. It's a good value (if you can find your true color) as you only need a dime size for medium coverage. My search for the perfect foundation continues...

Misc Beauty Tools -Sephora - Heated eyelash curler
hrtbrkr78 12/18/2011 7:11:00 AM
I have stick straight Asian lashes that point downward. If I use this AFTER I apply mascara, I will have fluffy, curly lashes that are set with the heat for a good 8 hours+. This will also separate and declump your lashes and you will not have to use a lash comb afterwards. If you use this properly, it WILL work. I've had mine for 5 years and it's still going strong.

Powder -Cover FX - Cover Fx - Powder Fx
hrtbrkr78 12/18/2011 3:27:00 AM
I have the M60 and I've definitely been matched wrongly by the Sephora SA as this is too beige, pink and orange on my yellow-olive skin. Even if the color is not a match, the formula is very thick and cakey and will accentuate every dry patch or wrinkle when applied with the cheap, foam sponge, esp. around the eye area so it's probably best to use a brush although you won't get the same coverage as with the sponge. The packaging is very cheap and light. I have been using a brush now that I hit pan. If you're looking for something to cover up, this does it well. I wore this today to make sure it wasn't my color for about 6 hours at night. I used an oil-based MU remover + a soap cleanser and I could not remove all traces of it so this is has some heavy-duty staying power that's great for oily skin.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - I Love Matte Palette
hrtbrkr78 12/18/2011 2:22:00 AM
I got this in a swap and boy am I happy! I have never purchased WW ES but this made me change my mind. There's absolutely no fallout, very smooth, no creasing, shadows are highly pigmented and it stays true for 6 hours+. And I usually don't wear ES primers (I usually put eye cream and powder foundation as a ES base) but it could be even better with a primer. Matte shadows do need to be blended more to look natural and unflat but it won't be a problem with this one. I'm very into matte ES these days for a natural, no-makeup makeup look so the lighter colors on these definitely fit the bill.

Lip Treatments -Blistex - Lip Medex
hrtbrkr78 12/18/2011 2:09:00 AM
I don't think there's any product that compares to this one in terms of price and quality. My lips get super dry in winter and when I forget to use balm, I'm licking my lips. I use this stuff liberally, every night and even if I only get a few hours of sleep, I can see a noticeable difference in the condition of my lips the next morning. It does have a nice tingling sensation when you put it on but this stuff tastes horrible so try not to get in your mouth. These are 99cents so I keep a stash of these everywhere. I especially like to use this before I put on matte lipsticks as a mask to plump up my lips for 5 minutes.

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush
hrtbrkr78 12/18/2011 1:28:00 AM
I would never pay retail for this and it wasn't worth it because it has so much shimmer that I look like I rubbed my face on a stripper. The color is excellent but it doesn't stay on for more than a few hours unless you use a cream base or lip gloss in a pinch. I would buy this again if they had the same color sans shimmer. Shimmer blushes work great in video and photography but up close it's obvious that I am wearing makeup and that's not the look I'm going for.

Moisturizers -Olay - Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream
hrtbrkr78 12/7/2011 12:54:00 PM
I fell for the commercial that said this moisturizes better than $100 creams. I don't know if it's "better" but it makes my skin feel like a baby's bottom. This has a light, pleasant scent that makes you feel like it's more expensive than it really is. It isn't oily at all (I have Asian combo skin and large pores so I know oily) and this would be perfect to use as a makeup primer as it feels like silk on your skin. I wake up to moisturized skin that looks like I had 12 hours of sleep. This is my HG moisturizer. I'm sure there are more expensive brands that work just as good as this but why pay more when I don't have to?
